Chapter 33 - Keep The D Handy

Goldie lifted her head, her chest still heaving with gasps. He wanted her to what? Oh, yeah. The chains. Goldie pushed up on Flint’s chest, his hard length still inside her, and moaned. Lordy, this man was perfection. Goldie wasn’t nearly done with him. She gave her hips a slow, grinding twist and the magnificent man beneath her moaned as well. “Goldie. The chains. Now.”

He growled on the last word and Goldie shivered in response. “Don’t do that growling thing. It makes it hard to concentrate.” She rocked on him again, gasping when he grew thicker, bigger inside her.

Flint wasn’t having it, though. He blew in Goldie’s face and smiled over a grimace. “Come on, Pumpkin. Don’t make me break the bed.” He was trying to be funny but for the first time the pain beneath his words registered in her brain. The chains were hurting him? And she’d made him keep them on? Guilt and dismay pulled at Goldie. Out-of-control didn’t even begin to describe a Prowl. More like taken over by homicidal nymphomaniacs. Thank heavens Flint had been with her or who knows what would have happened.

Goldie reached to one side as quickly as she could, unwinding the heavy chains from around the bed and Flint’s right wrist, trying to avoid the strange oily tendrils that were air-but-not-air, liquid-but-not-liquid, as they snaked out from the surface of the chain and touched Goldie’s fingers. They didn’t hurt, exactly, but she didn’t like it. They made her sad, somehow.

A rush of heat burned through her body and Goldie squirmed in place, impaled on Flint’s steel shaft, the fever to move taking her over. A relieved whimper escaped her when he was finally able to pull the one hand free, and Goldie stopped helping to give another roll of her hips. Heavens to Betsy, it was like her soul was on fire, her insides consuming her into something she never knew she could be, craving a soothing that only Flint could provide.

She heard a metallic clink and looked up to see Flint making quick work of the chains on his other arm, hissing with every touch as if they burned his fingertips. The moment the metal links were loose enough he yanked his hand free, rubbing the wrist and flexing his fingers before grabbing Goldie’s backside and pushing her down hard on his turgid cock inside her. “Fuck, you make me crazy.”

Goldie braced her hands on Flint’s biceps, feeling the rock-hard muscles flex beneath her fingers as he rocked her back and forth once more on the hot hardness of him. On the bedside table Flint’s phone chimed, Bryce’s face appeared, and all at once the rest of the night came rushing in on Goldie. The car wreck. The hospital. The Undoing. And the one who got away. “Darby!”

Without missing a beat Flint snagged the phone and swiped right, pressing a finger to her lips and then returning his hand to her backside. “What’s up, B?”

He listened for a moment, snarled into the phone, “Check IMDB, I’m busy,” and hung up, practically tossing the phone back to its resting place.

Both hands free, Flint once again gripped Goldie’s flanks and speared high inside her, stretching her so deep that pleasure rubbed up against pain. “They’re fine. Vlade must have been vluffing.”

Goldie started to laugh, but it became a moan when Flint ground her pelvis against his. Then all at once he lurched to sitting, wrapping both arms around Goldie and pressing her to him, turning the two of them so that Goldie was on her back, her body covered with his. His warm chocolate gaze somehow managed to appear both hard and soft as he looked into her eyes. “It’s my turn to be in charge.”

Goldie shivered, her nipples tightening painfully hard, feeling somehow both vulnerable and sheltered in his arms. But isn’t this what you said you wanted? A man with the confidence to take charge when it was necessary, and the skill to do it right? Goldie’s heart fluttered so hard it reverberated in her core, squeezing Flint until he groaned and ground his hips to hers.

He set up a slow, driving rhythm of thorough strokes, one hand cradling the back of Goldie’s head and the other palming her ass, his lips drifting to her neck. Goldie revelled in the way he took her body over, pulling her leg higher on his hip when he wanted to drive deeper, maneuvering her head when he wanted to kiss the other side of her throat. She’d never been manhandled like this before. It felt incredible.

Flint backed slightly away, his spine curving so he could reach Goldie’s peaked nipples, sucking each one deep into his mouth, kissing the curve of her breasts with something like reverence that touched her deeper than she knew anyone could go. Every few minutes his warm brown eyes would meet hers and he’d kiss her soundly, the memory of the words he’d said hours ago ringing through her head.

He’d almost gone crazy when he thought he’d lost her. Her worth to him had nothing to do with whether or not she killed a vampire.

Goldie smirked as Flint continued to work her body. Undoing that skinny-legged bloodsucker sure hadn’t hurt, though. She felt so powerful now, in her Prowl, like a victorious warrior accepting tribute. She broke away from Flint’s mouth, kissing down his neck to his scratched-up chest and nibbling on his flat, male nipples as he thrust relentlessly into her welcoming body. He hissed in a breath and cursed. “Fuck, honey, do that again.”

She did, gladly, biting his pecs and snaking one hand down to dig her fingertips into the powerful muscles of his backside, making him surge deeper inside her. Goldie nuzzled her lips against the curve of his scarred neck and gasped at the invasion. “Don’t stop, Flint.”

Far from stopping, her bear picked up the pace, pounding her into the mattress with what had to be every ounce of strength he possessed. And still she wasn’t sated. A raw, primal need fought to make itself known, pushed itself to the forefront of Goldie’s most instinctive mind and sent her reeling into confusion. She had to… what? Kill? No. But heaven help her, it was almost what this felt like. She was desperate to protect herself, to keep the growing revolution at arm’s length, to… escape. That was it. Something was bearing down on her and she had to get clear of its path.

Goldie bit and fought, scratching at the skin of Flint’s back and shoulders until without warning he captured both her wrists and pinned them above her head, the other hand caressing, trying to gentle her struggling body even as he worked it harder, faster, deeper, bringing her to heights she’d never seen before. And oh, help… who would catch her when she fell?

As if he could hear her thoughts, Flint met Goldie’s eyes, his brow glistening with sweat. Not once did he stop serving her body as his words addressed her heart. “I’ve got you, Goldie.”

Goldie shook her head frantically, hot tears streaming as she clenched her eyes shut and sobbed. Couldn’t he see how scared she was of falling? But his low, rumbling voice broke through Goldie’s panic. “Look at me, Goldie. Now.”

She couldn’t help obeying that lusty growl. Goldie opened her eyes and looked at Flint through the sparkle of tears on her lashes, saw his body crashing into hers and heard his grunts of exertion. Watching him give to her was hypnotic. She knew now. Without question. Flint wanted her. But for how long? Goldie wanted forever with this man and the thought of settling for less was tearing her heart to pieces.

And that was when her steady, devoted bear looked down at her and spoke again, his heart in his chocolate-brown eyes. “I’m not leaving, Goldie. I love you. I’m staying right here.”

In that moment Goldie’s heart broke wide open, all the walls around it blown away. Whether she welcomed him or not, Flint would always be there. He wasn’t leaving her. It was safe to let him all the way inside her heart. And she wanted to, so much. More than anything. She just didn’t know how.

Tears continued to stream down her cheeks but she didn’t look away. She let Flint see her, accepting his love and all the ache that came with it, all the empty places longing to be filled and clamoring for their turn. Her body relaxed and she stopped fighting, deliberately softened the muscles of her arms and heart so she could feel the ways he loved her best.

Flint must have noticed the change. His churning hips slowed just a touch, his grip on her wrists became escapable. His mouth curved in the ghost of a tender smile when Goldie whispered her reply. “I love you, too.”

His cock throbbed with her quiet declaration. Goldie moaned and it was back to relentless, Flint burying his forehead in the curve of her shoulder and gasping for breath as he drove frantically into the shelter of her body. Goldie wrapped her legs around his, trapping him close and moaning at the powerful invasion of all her most delicate spaces. She trusted him with all of them.

She could feel the sharp edge Flint was riding, how badly he wanted them to go over it together. For once in her life Goldie felt ready for the drop. She tightened inner muscles and ground herself against him, felt the heated throb of him loving her. Goldie pulled her arms free and both hands went to his butt, holding tight, driving him deeper. Flint pulled back far enough to look her in the eyes before his lips took her over like they always had.

His hot, gasping breaths against her mouth were too much. Goldie couldn’t believe she’d pushed this extraordinary male to these heights and that he was man enough to take her with him. With one final thrust, she was over the precipice and flying in his arms.

Flint let out a breathless groan against Goldie’s lips as he soared with her, somehow managing to cushion their fall from above.
