Chapter 33
Mantra was in the bathroom of the hotel suite when Yash showed up looking extremely tired.
“Hey, you…” He smiled looking at her in the mirror wrapping his arms around her waist.
“I was wondering if one of those chicks picked you up for the night,” she mocked, her eyes twinkling at him.
“Other chicks? You are the only one I want to hang out with,” he retorted.
She placed her palms on his chest taking in the warm silkiness of his suit. “You did good tonight. I wanted to kiss you on the stage.”
“You know I wouldn’t have objected to it, but you can kiss me now.” He chuckled sucking her lower lip into his mouth.
“Thank you for making tonight memorable for me.”
He trailed his lips along her jawline. “Someone’s happy… that makes me super happy.”
“I am very happy for a lot of reasons but mainly because of what you said about… everything you said was beautiful.”
“I’m glad that made you happy. What else made you happy tonight?”
“Sloka and Rajeev… they are expecting a baby.”
“Wow, this is great news.” Yash smiled.
“I’m happy I saw my mom and dad after… almost two years.” She kissed him on his cheek. “Thank you for inviting them.”
“Anything for you, sweetheart.”
“Did you mean what you said tonight about the couples’ therapy?” She couldn’t digest the fact and needed to hear it from him, again.
“I meant every word I said, baby. In fact, I am going to contradict myself about psychology in our book.” He trailed his lips down the column of her neck. She clasped his hair clinging to him as he swirled small circles on her neck just like he had at the darkest and deepest point earlier that night.
“Yash… thank you,” she managed to say as he swept her off her feet carrying her to the massive bed. He let go of her and came crashing down, his lips hungry to satiate her hunger.
“I wanted to undress you tonight. How dare you change out of that dress?” he growled making her folds wet with need.
“I want you… now,” she pleaded.
“Who am I to deny it,” he growled pulling up her sleep shirt. He ripped her panties off before pulling his dress pants open. He was big and throbbing, and she had been craving for the burning pain to take over her body as he introduced her bloodstream to uncontrollable pleasure.
His drive was deep and deliberate, and the words tumbled out of her mouth like she had no control. “I want to be yours forever, Yash.”
His movements froze for just a moment before he responded. “Baby… you will be mine, forever.” He built up a rhythm that threatened to rip her being into a million pieces, and when she came, she called out his name like she didn’t care for anything else but to be his and only his. She wanted to do nothing but surrender, surrender to him forever.

Mantra heard the train but did not see it. She stood next to the tracks by the tunnel looking in the direction of the train. She saw the light at the other end of the tunnel and watched as it came to a stop in front of her.
Yash came from behind and gave her a smile before getting on the train. He was leaving her, but she could not move or ask him to stay.
Later that night, she woke up to a dark room. Her heart was racing, and a cold sweat broke on her forehead.
Yash lay on his back next to her, his breathing steady unlike hers.
“Yash…” She didn’t know why she uttered his name in the middle of the night, but he moved taking her into his arms immediately.
“Sweetheart, what’s the matter?”
“Please don’t leave me… ever,” she pleaded, her words controlled by her heart.
“What… why are you saying that?” He pulled her closer to him, and she felt his heart thud against her cheek.
“I… Sona… she told me you disappeared for a year, and they thought you were… please don’t leave.” She knew what had woken her up. Sona’s words from earlier that night about how Yash left everything he had after the incident with his parents.
Fear gripped her body as he pushed the hair off her face planting feather-light kisses on her cheeks. “Even if we have a big fight… I don’t want you to go.”
“I can’t leave, baby… I can no longer imagine my life without you.” His voice was calm making her regain her composure.
“Yash…” Her lips trembled.
“You are the anchor I needed in my life, and now, if I need to go, I’m not going without you. This is the best I’ve been in my life. I’ve got the hottest and the most interesting woman as my girlfriend, I love what I do, and I have everything I need for an interesting life,” he said cheerfully.
“Hot and interesting? Who is that woman?” She chuckled.
He laughed pulling her to his chest as he lay back on the mattress. “The woman who was bold enough to take up couples’ therapy as her major. The woman who cares enough to make her life choices to solve other people’s problems. The woman who thinks my ass is hot, and the one who knows how to set my heart on fire.” He smiled planting a kiss on her neck from behind.
“Oh, and the woman who scratched your car and ran away?” she teased.
“Oh, yeah. I saw you on the tapes from the parking lot and knew I had to find you to make you pay for it.” He laughed.
“What? You knew that night it was me?”
“Yup, I had my buddy look up your information. I had everything I needed to knock on your door demanding a check to fix the scratch.”
“Oh, shit. I forgot about the friggin cameras in the parking area,” she grumbled making him laugh.
“So, why didn’t you come knocking on my door?” She scrunched her nose.
“Because I wanted to know more. I knew you were the kind to break all conventions, and that intrigued me.”
“Really? Like what?”
“For one, you followed me to the restroom to check me out,” he teased.
“Right, don’t flatter yourself too much.”
“Something told me you could handle adventure. I needed to know if my hunch was right, so I followed you around for a week before I forced you to rear-end me.” He winked at her.
“I cannot believe you made me hit your car.”
“Aren’t you glad you did, baby?” He tickled her.
“Yes, yes… yes, I am.” She laughed.
“Promise me you will go on my next adventure.” He continued to tickle her making her breathless.
“I will… I will… I promise, please stop tickling me.”
“Are you mine?”
“Yes…” she rasped.
“Forever?” He pulled her lips to his.
“Yes… forever,” she gasped into his mouth.
