Werebear Mountain - Roland (Book Two) by A. B Lee, M. L Briers (2)

Dane growled like a man possessed as he slapped his hands against her backside, palmed the curvy cheeks, and lifted her back up against the wall. The scent of her arousal made him hungry to taste her — but with her legs wrapped around his hips, and her sex pressed against his cock — not to mention the way that she was wiggling to try and claim the hard length for herself — he had the need to bury his cock to the hilt.

“Don’t make me wait,” Rayner growled against his lips, and he needed no more encouragement than that.

Dane grunted as he thrust his cock deep inside of his mate. The soft, satin walls of her sex clamped around his hard length, and he groaned in pleasure — made even better by the hard sting of her fingernails that clawed against his back.

“Don’t make me repeat myself — don’t make me wait,” Rayner growled against his ear before her blunt teeth bit down on the soft lobe.

“You’re so damn wild — I can’t get enough of you,” Dane growled.

His large hand palmed the back of her head, and he fisted her hair as he yanked her head back, then he ran his flat tongue up her neck, and he nipped against her chin and caused her hips to go wild against his, upping the tempo, and demanding more from him.

Dane was more than to happy to oblige. He liked long, slow sex as much as the next man — but when she was insatiable like this — he couldn’t stop his wild side from letting go.

His hips pounded against hers, skin against skin, with a sound that mirrored their heartbeats. Her inner walls were tightening around his cock, making him work harder, making him grunt with every deep thrust. It wasn’t going to be long until she came undone around him.

Rayner clawed up his back and made him hungrier still. He dipped his head, took her scent, and nipped hard against her skin with his blunt teeth, and that was all she needed.

Dane felt the suckling of her inner muscles around his cock, begging for his seed, and again, he obliged. He buried his cock to the hilt, over and over, and gave her everything that he had.

He was hers, and she was his — his to love, his to honor, his to protect until his dying day.

There was no damn way in hell that he was going to let her anywhere near Tank.

“So, you’re letting her go after this Tank guy?” Roland didn’t like the sound of it. If it was his mate, there was no way that he’d take that kind of chance with her safety.

He shot a curious look at his brother and found Dane mulling that one over, and damn, but he looked as if he was chewing on a particularly mean wasp – something was up with that.

“I said so, didn’t I?” Dane growled at his brother’s insistence to talk about it. He didn’t want to talk about it. He’d didn’t to talk – period.

“Yeah, but…”

“Don’t you have something better to do than stand there flapping your damn lips at me?” Dane growled again – that time it was harder, deeper, and filled with a warning that Roland had learned not to ignore.

“Anything is better than spending time in your damn company,” Roland growled back, as he turned on his heels and stalked away from the bad mood bear shifter.

“One damn psycho brother and one that wants to get all touchy-feely with his…”

“Hey! I don’t do touchy-feely,” Roland shot back over his shoulder. “I just don’t see how you caved over something like this.”

“Caved?” Dane growled harder. “I did not cave – I compromised.”

“Compromised?” Roland turned back with a look of disbelief that met with amusement right there on his face to wind his brother up even further. “That’s girl talk for caved.”

“Your damn face will cave in a minute when my fist…”

“Stop - now!” Bowie growled a warning to his siblings.

“Who died and made you precious?” Roland growled.

“You’re riling up Rayner’s bear,” he warned them, nodding his head toward Rayner as she stood at the door to the cabin that she shared with Dane.

Her body was locked up tight, her hands were fisted at her sides, and she fought the bear within her to keep it from bursting free. Dane moved fast, heading straight for his mate in an attempt to soothe her, talk her down, and keep the beast from breaking out.

“Hello!” That voice sounded too damn sweet and feminine to be on clan land, what with Bowie’s dislike of visitors and all.

Rayner’s head snapped in the direction that it came from and her eyes narrowed, and she scented the air. “Human …” Rayner growled long and hard.

“Let’s go, sweetheart.” Dane swept her up into his arms the moment that he got close enough to reach out for her.

He didn’t like the idea of a human female being on clan land, but he didn’t like the thought of Rayner losing her bear around her either. Rayner’s bear was still brand new, and he couldn’t trust it to do the right thing.

“Roland?” Dane called back over his shoulder as he carried his mate away.

“On it,” Roland assured him. “Bowie, get inside or leave – now.”

Bowie wished to hell that he could say he had this covered, but he could already feel his bear rising within him in annoyance that someone was on their land. With a grunt, he followed hard on Dane’s heels and left the trespasser to Roland. He couldn’t trust his bear as far as he could throw it, and there was no damn way that he trusted himself either.

Maggie didn’t much like the idea of walking in unannounced. Her soon-to-be ex-landlord had given her Rayner’s new mailing address, not that she saw anywhere for the mail to be delivered, and she’d decided on a whim and a prayer to give it a shot.

There was a large sign that warned people to keep out or die like that filled her with a warm sense of fuzziness, and that was why she’d decided that calling out was the way to go. She didn’t like the options on that sign, and she’d feel a whole lot better if Rayner came to meet her.

Normally, she would have turned on her heels and walked the other way. She didn’t like trouble and didn’t want any. The only problem with that idea was that she needed to see Rayner.

It wasn’t as if Rayner and her were best friends, but Rayner was the closest thing that she had to a friend in the city. She was only a few days away from being evicted from her apartment, and she still hadn’t found anywhere to go that didn’t need a huge deposit.

She was kind of hoping that Rayner could point her in the right direction, or maybe, if she was lucky, then there might be a spare bed for her here. As she walked the muddy track cut through the land, she wasn’t exactly sure of what she was going to find on the other side of the trees, but she was determined to find out.

She needed this. She needed help, and she couldn’t think of anyone but her ex-neighbor to go to. That was as sorry a damn state of affairs as she wanted to admit.

Maggie felt a sense of foreboding. It wasn’t as if the place was exactly welcoming, but beggars couldn’t be choosers, and she was soon to be homeless.

She knew that Rayner was as tough as a woman could be. She’d half expected her to come home with some greasy haired biker guy, or something mean and moody that you wouldn’t want to meet down a dark alleyway, but Rayner just seemed to keep herself to herself and never dated.

It still felt to Maggie as if she was going to come out of the trees and into some kind of MC Narnia hangout with bikes, and bikers everywhere. That would be bad. She didn’t go in for the alpha male type, any type really, and yet, she was desperate enough to keep her feet moving forward on the track.

“Rayner,” she called again.

“Not here right now, and neither should you be,” Roland said as he appeared like a behemoth a good twenty feet ahead of her.

Maggie ground to a halt. The man was large, scary large, and it didn’t help that he was shrouded in semidarkness due to the canopy of the trees all around them. His shadowy bulk only made him feel like more of a threat to her.

His voice was deep, rumbling, like velvet over gravel, and it made her shiver from somewhere deep inside. Maggie didn’t know whether to turn and try to run, or just collapse on her jellylike legs right there on the damn path.
