Beg Me (A Sexy Standalone Romantic Comedy) by M. Malone, Minx Malone (24)

24

You’d think after such an intense emotion dump that we’d be super talkative on the way home. But Milo and I are both quiet as we drive back to his place. He keeps looking over at me, as if he’s afraid that I’ll disappear.

Not that I can blame him. I’ve already pinched myself a time or two.

When we get to his apartment, I drop my bag near the door while he walks around turning on lights. Now that we’re alone together, I’m starting to get a little nervous. He said he loves me and that he wants us to be together but practically speaking, I’m not entirely sure what that means. Are we going to tell everyone that we’re not really engaged but just a couple? Are we starting over from scratch and going to go on dates?

The thought makes me smile. I can’t imagine going to a restaurant to meet Milo for a date like he’s just some guy I saw on Tinder.

“I should probably call Ariana. She’ll worry if I don’t come home.”

Milo nods. “We definitely don’t want her to worry. She’d show up at the restaurant demanding answers or start an online petition to find out where Mr. Lavin hid your body.”

I’m laughing but that’s not inaccurate. Ari is a bit of a conspiracy theorist and if I disappeared for any length of time, she’s the type to jump to conclusions.

She answers on the first ring. “Uh oh, if you’re calling me that probably means your business deal went bad. Why are you calling me?”

“Everything is fine. Better than fine. Milo showed up and we talked. It turns out that conversation I overheard wasn’t about business at all. He was just telling Mr. Lavin that I was already taken.”

Ari whistles. “O-kay then. So Happy Hour Hottie was staking his claim. I knew I liked him. I’m really glad he didn’t let me down.”

“Because it’s all about you, huh?”

She snorts. “You’re damn straight. No one else had to put up with your grungy ass on the couch eating all the ice cream. So if you’re calling me that must mean you’re with Milo now.”

“Yeah. I didn’t want you to worry when I didn’t come home.”

“Now I’m just worried for a different reason.”

“What do you mean?”

“Oh it’s nothing. Just tell Triple H that if he gets a bag of exploding dick confetti at work, that I’m sorry.”

“What?”

“Never mind. Let’s let it happen. Consider it future payback for the next time he fucks up. Anyway, have fun!”

I’m still laughing when she hangs up. Exploding dick confetti is probably the most tame on the list of things Ariana could have sent him. So I decide to take her advice and let it happen. Variety is the spice of life, right?

Our office could use a few surprises.

Milo is in the bedroom and has already changed out of his suit and into sweatpants. His chest is gloriously bare. I sigh. A tiny, shallow part of me is really excited that I get to see this naked chest on a regular basis. Who wouldn’t be?

But then I go a little higher and see that warm smile and those wicked eyes and that’s when it hits me how lucky I really am. Because I found love with a guy who underneath all the suave exterior is a total sweetheart.

My #boyfriendgoals wishes have come true.

“Ariana says hi,” I comment as I slip off my shoes and unzip my dress. He’s watching me from the bed and my blood warms under his eyes.

“I want you to move in with me,” he whispers.

My heart leaps and there’s a huge part of me that wants to scream yes, yes, yes. But I’m not going to abandon everything I’ve learned lately. This is meant to be, I can feel it, and so we don’t need to jump into anything. I have a feeling it’ll all happen when it’s meant to.

I climb on the bed and crawl over to his side. Soon I’m settled into my favorite position, resting on his chest with my ear right over his heart. The heart that I now know beats just for me.

“That might be moving a little fast. But I have to admit that I’m tempted. I do love this bed.”

Milo growls playfully and rolls us over until he’s on top. “Is that what you love? My bed?” His hips nudge mine playfully, teasing a moan from my lips.

“Mmm, hmm. But there is something else you can do to convince me.” I rub back, enjoying how his eyes narrow when he gets turned on.

“Oh really?”

“Yes. There is one wild, sexy, kinky thing that you can do for me.”

His tongue is practically hanging out by now.

“What else can I do?” he asks, gazing down at me with his heart in his eyes. He’s so sincere that I almost don’t want to fuck with him right now.

But this is Milo. And this is me. So

I lean up and whisper in his ear, “You can… beg me.”
