Eyes meeting mine, they narrow. “If she wants to be a part of the Serpents, then she needs to know what it takes and learn to respect the hierarchy.”
“You mean respect you. She already respected the Serpents, it was you she didn’t trust. Seeing the way you treated her sister and the shit you put her through, she lost that respect. “She’s the daughter of a traitorous drug dealer and murderer. You’re giving her too much credit.”

Turning from him, I pace to the door.
“Have her make a commitment to us publicly at the next party and I’ll drop it.”
Looking over my shoulder, I deadpan.
