Mr. Darkness by Hilary Storm (19)

Chapter Twenty

One Week Later

I wake up to an empty bed, but hear the water running in my shower. He’s slept over every night since we first had sex. In fact, he hasn’t hardly left my side since that night. I didn’t know two people could have that much sex, let alone the woman getting an orgasm each and every time. But he’s made it very clear that he doesn’t get his, until I’ve had mine.

We haven’t used any toys or props, just each other. My sister has even given us the privacy I asked her to give us. She of course told me I’d have to spill the details when I come up for air, but I already knew that was coming. Besides it’ll be nice to brag about how he makes me feel.

We’ve used this week to really get to know each other and I’ve never been happier in my life. I’m so afraid the ball will soon drop and something will ruin it, so I’m going to enjoy the sweet bliss while I still can.

Without another thought, I slide out from under the covers to go join him. I’m sore as hell, still feeling the effects of our sexcapades in every muscle of my body.

His phone lights up on the floor at my feet just as I walk by. It’s a long message, so I pick it up and glance at it, which is probably a big no-no, but I’ll consider this my test for him. After all of that shit with Brock, I have a hard time just trusting that all of this is real, even though he says he only wants me.

Brad: The last challenge is today. All money is due tonight and the winner will be chosen from viewer votes. Good luck everyone.

Eric: Hoping to see someone else get it over Damon. I’m tired of giving that asshole part of my cut.

William: Make those checks out to me. My girl is ready.

I’m trying to make sense of the messages when I hear the water shut off. I set the phone on the foot of the bed and turn on a lamp before sit back down to wait for him. He’s towel drying his hair when he opens the bathroom door. His naked body is something I’ve gotten used to seeing since he has no issues walking around just like this in my apartment.

“Good morning.”

“How much money will you lose today?” His smile drops with my question.

“Not much.” He slides the towel over his body to dry off before he drops it to the floor to get back in bed.

“Your phone lit up on the floor… I… I looked at a few of the messages.”

“Did you find anything interesting?”

“Honestly I don’t know what I saw.” He reaches for his phone and scrolls through the messages.

“The money is due today for a competition we had. Not a big deal.” I think about the money he dropped into my account like it was nothing and then decide to probe him further.

“Was me being in the house part of that competition?”

“Yes.” I rush out of bed and begin pacing through the room.

“So the film bullshit was a lie?”

“No. We film the contest and then produce it as a reality show, just like I told you.”

“You forgot to mention we were in a competition with the others.”

“It wouldn’t have made a difference.” He’s right. But I hate that he kept it from me.

“Is there anything else you didn’t share with me that involved all of that?”

“No.” There’s always been one question that he’s managed to skirt around when I ask it. This seems like the time to ask it once again.

“How did you find me Damon?” I stop pacing to observe his reaction to my question. He sits up and tilts his head, looking into my eyes.

“You can’t get mad when I tell you.” That response scares me. What in the world could he be about to tell me, because for the life of me I can’t imagine what he could say that would make me mad.

“Someone you know sent your information in as a potential submissive. All contestants are referred to us and we choose from those submitted.” I instantly have a wave of chills rush over me as I try to think of who in the world would do this. Who would think I’d be a good choice for this.

“Who?”

“I’m not allowed to give you that information.”

“Fuck that… Damon. Who?”

“A man named Brock.” I’m frozen solid, paralyzed just thinking about him doing this to me. Not only did he torture me by cheating and playing mind games in our relationship, he wanted to subject me to the mind fuck of that competition.

“He knew it would be televised and you’d be training me in all of that?”

“Yes.”

“How could you make me think you found me by chance? That your assistant stumbled upon me on social media and you thought I’d be perfect.”

“It’s irrelevant now don’t you think? I pulled us from the competition and that’s all behind us now.”

“No it’s not irrelevant. Knowing all of this makes me sick. What does the winner get?”

“Six million… that’s one million from each Dom and then half the royalties from the show. The other five Doms will each get ten percent of the royalties.”

“Are you kidding me? Why did you give me money?”

“I knew it would take that to get you involved. I considered you an investment. I had two weeks to find you, convince you to join and also train you.”

“Jesus… was all of it a lie? Do you even own the bar and the cave?”

“Everything else is real. I own many properties, which is why I’m not worried about the money. So stop overreacting to this.”

“Damon… do not down play all of this. My ex is an asshole and this is the perfect example of that idiot. I’m pissed I fell for it.”

“Actually you didn’t. If you remember you weren’t exactly a perfect submissive.”

“I know I wasn’t. But if you remember, I tried to tell you I wouldn’t be.”

“You did.”

“Will Brock get anything from all of this?”

“It’s set up to prove we can train any single person out there… those who refer to us are doing it as a challenge. If we fail at making you a submissive, the money falls back to the person who referred you.”

“He’s going to get money from this?”

“Yes.”

“No fucking way.” I’m pacing again. That asshole shouldn’t get a penny from anything that involves me. “How did he convince you to choose me?”

“He said you write sex books, but are a prude in the bedroom. I thought maybe you just needed to experience true pleasure. Usually women aren’t prude… just bored. Which seems to have been the case with you, because you are far from prude with me.”

“What do I have to do to keep him from getting any money?”

“You have to complete the final part of the competition today.”

“Fuck. How does this crazy shit happen to me? I’m a home body. I’m safe from insanity.”

His laughter echoes through the room. “That may have been true before you met me.”

“Where does this leave us?”

“The same place we were before the conversation started. I’ve pulled us from the competition and he’ll get my share. I don’t give a shit about any of this now.” He finally stands to hold me… calming me from my irrational thoughts of screaming out in frustration.

How in the hell do I let him get anything out of this? I can’t stomach what that asshole’s smug face will look like when he receives it. I can practically see it in my mind.

“Get ready. We’re going back to the cave. I’m going to do this so he doesn’t get a damn dime.” I begin rambling as I move through the room to gather what I need for my shower. “He thinks I’m fucking prude… well if I could’ve actually felt his centimeter peter, maybe I would’ve wanted more of it.” I’m so over allowing men making me feel inadequate.

I’m going to do this… I’m going back into this competition with an all new mindset. I can do anything I want to and now that I’ve spent this time with Damon, I trust him completely. Like he said… all we need is trust. How hard can this be? Hell, I don’t even know what I just agreed to, but it doesn’t matter.
