Swinging On A Star (The Hollywood Showmance Chronicles Book 2) by Olivia Jaymes (48)

CHAPTER FORTY-SEVEN

Max was certainly taking his time tonight. While Carrie had been trying to keep herself from ripping his clothes off in the car, he’d been watching her closely, his gaze never leaving her face. Those expressive blue eyes took in everything but also managed to say a great deal. He was fighting his own baser instincts. He was simply better at hiding it. His intensity was one of the things that had attracted her to him and it was exciting when all of his attention was focused solely on her. He didn’t take out his phone, he didn’t talk to the driver, he didn’t even glance out of the window.

They’d practically fallen out of the vehicle before it came to a complete stop and then raced into the house and up the stairs, leaving a trail of discarded clothing in their wake. Now Max had her naked underneath him and he seemed determined to savor every moment of it.

His lips roamed over her jaw and ear, then down to her shoulders in an unhurried manner. His warm mouth kissed a path between her breasts and down her belly, using his tongue to tickle the sensitive flesh over her ribs. He kept her guessing where he was heading, placing feathery kisses on her instep before creating a damp trail from her knee to her hip then circling around to the backs of her knees.

Giggling as he nibbled at a toe, she held out her arms, urging him to lie on top of her. Every sweep of his tongue, every caress of his nimble fingers, and every kiss from his lips had lit a fire deep inside of her. She needed him desperately more than she’d imagined possible. They had said the words but this was important as well. A physical joining to pair with their emotional one.

“I need you,” she whispered urgently, beckoning to him. “I want you.”

Kneeling on the bed, he pressed his mouth to the inside of her thigh, sending a lightning bolt of arousal straight to her clit. “I want you too.”

She smiled at him, hoping it was her best come-hither look. “Then what are we waiting for?”

His hands slid up her legs, pushing her thighs apart. “You are mine to love and care for. I’ve never been able to say that before and I’m enjoying it.”

A sobering thought. Neither one of them had experienced anything like this before. If he felt a fraction of the love and devotion that she did, they wouldn’t have any problems with being together forever.

And it was nice to belong to someone. She was his to love.

But that meant that he was hers, and that gave her an idea. Sitting up on her elbows, she reached out and ran her fingers down his hard length, drawing a strangled moan from his lips. Flattening her palms against his chest, she pushed him back onto the mattress, determined to worship his body as sweetly as he’d just done to hers.

Mirroring his actions, Carrie’s lips traveled from his stubble-covered jaw, across his ridged abs, and down to his hair-roughened thighs. She would have continued on her journey but Max was an impatient and dominant man. His fingers tangled in her long hair, gently tugging her where he wanted her the most. Instead of teasing him longer, she surrendered to his demands and ran her tongue up and down the length of his cock before engulfing the head in her more than willing mouth.

Groaning, his grip tightened and she allowed him to guide her actions until he was panting, his hips arching off the mattress. Pulling off with a pop, she giggled as she kissed her way back up to his lips, their tongues tangling together. His strong hands lifted her up so she was straddling his body and she slowly lowered herself back down, taking in every inch he had to give her. As always, it was tight but the stretch was delicious. Sparks were already going off in her belly and she leaned forward as he thrust up, bracing her hands on his chest.

Leisurely, Carrie began to move, swaying her hips back and forth, making her entire body shudder and quake with pleasure. Max’s gaze was white-hot as he watched her rise and fall, moaning with each heavenly stroke. His hands gripped her hips and suddenly she found herself flat on her back with a grinning Max hovering above her, still snug inside of her.

“You just had to be in charge,” she groaned as his mouth captured an already taut nipple, rolling it between his lips and scraping the sides with his teeth until she was writhing and begging. “Are you going to fuck me or not?”

Max chuckled in her ear, the vibrations making her tremble with need. “Does my sweet want it soft and slow or hard and fast? Ladies’ choice.”

Wrapping her legs around his lean middle, she dug her fingers into his muscled shoulders. “You know what I want.”

“I certainly do.”

Pulling out almost all the way, he slammed back in, eliciting a moan from both of them. He rode her hard, just the way she liked it and she urged him on, whispering filthy suggestions in his ear while her nails raked the damp skin of his back. Finally a man who understood that she could be a lady outside of the bedroom but in it? She was a woman who needed her man to make her scream with pleasure.

The world spun and narrowed to the two of them as she moved closer to release. Reaching in between them, Max placed his thumb on her clit so that it rubbed against the sensitive button with every thrust. It didn’t take much and she was flying into orbit, stars whirling around her. Eventually they both came back down to earth, tangled together and spent.

Max lay on his back and Carrie draped herself over him, her head on his chest as he idly stroked her back. She savored the closeness and didn’t want to ruin the moment with chatter or questions. There would be time for all of that later. If anything, they’d talk until they were blue in the face. It was good to just…be. She had a feeling with their busy lives these moments of peace and quiet wouldn’t be frequent enough.

“You’re mine to love and care for,” Max said a long time later. Carrie thought she might have even dozed off for a few minutes. “To adore and worship.”

“I am,” she confirmed even though she’d agreed to that same sentiment earlier. “And you’re mine.”

“I promise that I will not take this for granted, Carrie. I know that I’ve been given a precious second chance. You didn’t have to do it and I won’t mess this up.”

She could feel the rumble in his chest under her ear as he spoke.

“I know you won’t. Both of us have to be more aware of how the things we say and do affect the other. We need to be kinder and more giving. Both of us. Not just you.”

“I will make sure that you don’t regret this.” He paused, seemingly searching for what he wanted to say. “I know that you’re giving up a lot to be with me – namely your privacy. From now on you’ll always have to worry about cameras and tabloids.”

That part did kind of suck. She was going to have to wear makeup whenever she left the house. No more yoga pants and tank tops to the grocery store.

“You’re worth it. They’re really interested in you anyway.”

He pushed a stray strand of hair back from her face. “Once we’re married and have children they’ll be as focused on you as me, especially as you make a name for yourself in Hollywood completely separate from my career. If the Flynn movie is as successful as I think it will be, your name could be big in the movie business.”

Carrie knew she should have been concentrating on the part of his statement where he was talking about her career but all she could think about was his casual use of the words married and children.

“Do you know what you just said?”

She might as well give him an out right now. He might be delirious from too much carnal pleasure and he simply wasn’t thinking straight.

Lifting up, he moved onto his side so they were looking into his each other’s eyes. “I know exactly what I said. Do you not want to be married? Or do you not want children?”

“I want both.” Her honest answer tumbled from her lips before she could even think about a less embarrassingly eager reply. “I’ve always wanted four or five kids, actually.”

His smile was breathtaking and he leaned down to press a soft kiss to her lips. “Me too. I’d like to start trying right after the wedding, maybe even on our honeymoon.”

“I’d like that too.”

It was hard to believe that this was truly happening. He loved her, wanted to marry her, wanted them to be a family. It was all she’d ever dreamed of and now he was offering it to her. It was like being given the world on a silver platter.

“Big wedding or small?” He frowned and rubbed his chin. “We should check our schedules and see when we have our next break. I don’t want to wait any longer than we have to, plus I know we’ll want Paige and Nate to be there so we’ll have to check their schedules as well. Should we start making a list?”

She’d created an organized, list-making monster. There was a time and place for that.

“Yes, but not now.” Carrie ran a fingertip over his jaw and then down his chest. “I have other plans for you. I love you.”

A brow lifted and a smile bloomed on his handsome face. “Plans? I am yours to love. Have at it, my sweet girl. I love you too.”

They’d plan their wedding later. Right now, they’d practice the honeymoon.
