The Omega's Protector (Billionaires of Forest Hill Book 2) by CANDICE BLAKE (14)

Epilogue

Ollie

Three months later

The day where Aiden and Joel learned how to shift into wolves finally came. They were adorable, running around the fire, playing with Joshua.

I nudged the three of them farther away from the fire so that they wouldn't hurt themselves.

I was happy, living with Richard, Winston, Tyler, and our kids, out in the city limits. I hadn't thought Richard was ever going to move out here, but after the fire my dad had set to try and kill us, he realized that we would be safer out here.

I still had nightmares about the fire that made me wake up in the middle of the night sweating. Richard had to calm me down and hold me in his arms so that I could go back to sleep.

Winston and Richard returned to our camp, holding salmon in their hands. Richard had gotten a lot more muscular since we moved out here. I couldn't help but lick my lips when I saw how strong his arms looked.

I smiled and walked up to Richard to hug him. "Look how many you guys caught," I said.

"Yeah, there were so many of them swimming upstream today," Richard said.

Over the past few months, Richard and Winston had set aside their past and gotten closer. Tyler and I were lucky to have two Alphas in our pack. It was rare for Alphas to get along. But we all knew that we needed each other out here. It was dangerous to have three pups running around, especially since Joel and Aiden were pure Golden wolves.

"How many fish do you want to eat?" Tyler asked me.

"I'll just have one," I said. "I'm still full from breakfast."

I helped Tyler roast the fish above the fire. We'd created a nice home out here, with everything we needed. Our life was simple, and it was exactly what I wanted, even though the reason why we were out here was that my own father had tried to kill us. I still couldn't believe it. Even though we were far away from the city now, I knew my father was aware that we were still alive.

We waited for the fish to cook over the fire, and the four of us sat around the fire, as our pups ran around us. I looked around and was happy to be surrounded by people who cared about me.

"I was thinking of taking the pups out on a hike tomorrow," Richard said.

"That would be nice," Tyler said. "Where were you thinking?"

"There's a mountain beyond the river that I was hoping to explore to see if we can find a safer spot for our family. This base is nice, but I'm afraid we're going to outgrow it once the kids get bigger."

I nodded. "That's a good idea."

"It might be a bit dangerous though, bringing the kids so far away from home," Winston said.

"It'll be good to get them used to traveling to faraway places," Richard said. "The city limits are a risky place to be, and if something happens that forces us to leave, we're going to take them with us."

"You're right," Winston said.

I looked at Joel and Aiden, who were lying close to us. I was happy that they were getting along with Joshua. The three of them were a handful, but they were so worth it. I was even thinking of having another kid with Richard, but I knew he wanted to wait a bit for things to settle down.

The fish were ready, and we took them off the fire. I tore the meat into tiny pieces so that I could feed it to the kids.

When we finished eating, Tyler and Winston said they needed to go to bed. I knew that was code that they were about to have sex. I offered to put Joshua to bed for them.

Richard and I sat by the fire, eating some berries as dessert.

We lay on a bed of leaves to look up at the stars, with the three kids sleeping by our feet.

"Do you miss being in the city?" I asked.

"Sometimes," Richard said. "I know we'll return someday though."

I ran my hand on his furry chest and down his abs. "I'm lucky to have you in my life," I said.

Richard turned to me and smiled. "I'm the lucky one. You're the reason why I'm reunited with Tyler."

"I think we both have a lot to be grateful for," I said, looking down at the pups by our feet.

"You think they're happy out here too?" Richard asked.

"I think they're very happy. They're wolves after all. They're meant to be out in the wild, running free. We are too."

"Are you happy?" Richard asked.

I leaned in to kiss my Alpha's lips. "I'm happy as long as I get to be with you."

Richard smiled and ran his thumb across my jawline. "You know all the right things to say. If the kids weren’t here right now, I'd be on top of you."

Hearing Richard say that made my cock hard. "Don't tease me," I said. "You know it's hard for me to control myself around you."

"And you know how much I love it when you're out of control and need to be tamed."

Richard was my everything. I'd run away from my controlling father in hopes of something better. But I didn't expect to meet such a caring and thoughtful Alpha.

"I love you," I said softly.

"I love you too," Richard said.

He reached over to hold my hand as we looked up at the stars.
