The Wedding Guest by C.M. Steele (5)

Marco

I pulled out of her because I was getting hard all over again and her pussy needed time to heal. She'd been a virgin. It wasn't something I saw coming. Not that I was being judgmental, but most of us lost our virginity before eighteen. She was in her early twenties, according to my brother.

"Amore, how come your parents didn't come to the wedding?" I asked, rubbing my hand over her belly. The thought that I planted my baby in her womb washed over me. It amazed me how less than twelve hours ago I had nothing but negative thoughts about her and her family. The family was still a bit suspect, to be honest.

"Because they died four years ago," she replied nonchalantly as if I asked her mundane question.

"Is there more to that? Or are you not willing to go into details?" I didn’t like the way she said it, like she was building a wall, when we just shared something so damn intense and real that I wouldn’t and couldn’t let her go.

She turned her head from me, but I couldn’t allow that. I cupped her cheek and turned her face to mine. I gave her a kiss; a soft one with a bit of pleading behind it. “Please tell me, Danielle.”

"You're right about a lot of my family. I'd rather not bring up all the reasons I shouldn't have done this. I’m not on your level and I shouldn’t even be here."

I felt like a dick for judging her before I knew her. Now I had to fix her own self-worth which I helped kick down. "You belong here with me, and we're going to keep doing it, but I want to know more about you. I want to know who you are and how you got to be you."

I caught the tears building in her eyes, something I hadn’t prepared for. Anger hit me. Making her cry wasn’t something I could ever be okay with. "My parents died from an overdose. A bad batch of heroin."

These days, heroin in the states was a major epidemic and everyday people were being affected. "Cara, I'm sorry for you."

She shook her head and wiped her eyes. "Don't be. As terrible as it sounds, my life is better without them. It's the reason I stayed away from men. I worked hard and went to community college. Their failures forced me, drove me to want more."

"Wow, so it's a wonder why you even let me have your special gift." I didn’t deserve her with the way I acted. Not that I’d let her go, but there was no doubt I got really fucking lucky.

She blew out a harsh breath and continued, "At first, I hated that you judged us, but it was the same way I felt about half of my family. Nicole's an exception for me. Her heart is good even though she was taught wrong. That's what upset me. Well that and not being able to fit in."

"I'm sorry. I promise I'm not a total asshole. This whole surprise wedding and baby got the better of me.”

"Oh, I know. I spoke to Anna at the table and she sang your praises. You read to the kids in the village. That's freaking awesome for a busy man like yourself to devote time to others."

I looked at her and said what was in my head. "I don't want you to leave, Danielle."

She shook her head at me and I knew it wasn’t going to be as simple as I wanted. She was going to be the mother of my children and my wife. I understood my brother’s choice and everything as soon as I let go of my irrational attitude. Seeing Danielle and her smile at another man settled it for me. "I can't lose my job."

I don’t think she understood where I was coming from and what I wanted from her. "Danielle, I don't know what you do, but have you seen this house?"

"This isn't a house; it's a mansion,” she replied, her eyes laughingly bugging out.

"Exactly, amore, you do not need to work,” I said, running my hand through her hair.

She sat up in the bed, ready to fight me on this. "Stop, cara," I said, grabbing hold of her.

"This was special to me, but I can't give up everything for a fling," she complained.

I quickly pressed her back onto the bed and stretched over her, straddling her body. "This isn't a fling. I haven't had sex in over six years. I had this place built so I could raise a large family. No other woman has graced this bed. No other shall. I told you earlier there was no going back.” It was true. I had bought the house with starting a family in mind. I just hadn’t found the woman I wanted to join me. With Danielle, I wanted it all. She couldn’t leave because she’s the one I wanted to grow old and gray with.

“I didn’t take you seriously,” she blurted out, looking at me with a surprised expression.

“I thought you understood that I was more than attracted to you. Those words weren’t just to get you in my bed. They were to keep you there.”

“But…” I put a finger to her lips, silencing her so that I could say what I needed to say.

“But nothing. I was being an asshole and before the wedding was over, I was sure that I’d been wrong, and Anna proved to me that I was a bigger ass than I thought.”

She scrunched her brow in confusion. “How? We didn’t talk much about me.”

“No, see I thought the book you were reading was about how to ensnare men. I’d never read it before, so I picked it up and read the first line, I assumed the worst.”

“That’s funny. Why are you so suspect about women? Have you been with a lot of gold diggers?”

“The last woman I was with tried to play like she was pregnant with my baby. It wasn’t true and I refused to marry her until a test was done. That was when she dropped the whole pregnancy scam. A year later, she trapped another guy who was rich and drained his account. Of course, there was no baby in that story either. She was probably still playing that game.” She hugged me as though I needed comfort. That woman was nothing to me. It was her lasting impression that made me cynical. Hell, I couldn’t remember what she looked like anymore.

I held her at arm’s length so I could finish. Her hard nipples were pressing against my chest and the blood flow was going straight south. I needed to tell her while I had a thought left in my head. “But it wasn’t her that bothered me. I just saw that it was a habit with women. When I was about two years old, my family almost lost the shirts off our backs. My grandfather owned the vineyard and had been carrying on with his mistress. My father ran the company but wouldn’t inherit it until my grandfather died. His mistress tricked him and spent all his money, embezzling until we were a million in the hole. It took my father’s intelligence and ingenuity to turn the company from red to black.”

“Wow, so your distrust is long growing. Now I get why you didn’t want me.”

“Yes, and I’m really sorry about it. In my stupidity of what I believed was proper, I actually thought that Vincenzo or I should have been with Ms. Rossi, but neither of us thought of her like that.”

“Well, she is beautiful and a caring person. It would make sense. Are you attracted to her?” I could sense the jealousy and hurt. I hadn’t meant for that. I’d never desired Ms. Rossi in any way. In fact, I never called her by her first name because I didn’t see her as anything more than a sweet educator.

“God, no. I just thought she was the kind of woman that we should marry: smart, pretty, hardworking, and caring. Nothing like the women we knew. Well, at least until I met you,” I confessed.

She arched her brow and replied sarcastically, “Nice save on that one.”

“I’m serious. On paper, she would be right, but I saw her as nothing more than a school teacher.”

“Well that’s great because I think the Duke has it bad for her, and the way he followed her every move it was clear he wanted her.”

“Really? That’s good. She deserves a good man. There’s not many in the village.”

“Oh, so you’re the best the village has to offer? I think I should go for a walk just to be sure.”

“The fuck you will. There’s no men in the village. And if there was I’d have to cut their eyes out.” She started laughing, and well, I was serious so I needed to remind her who she belonged to. I placed my constantly hard cock against her heat and pushed into her depths. She stopped laughing, but she did give me a pleased smile.

“Is this the way you plan to settle arguments?” she asked with a mischievous smirk.

“It does feel like a very good way to get you to do what I want.”

“You’re lucky I think you’re handsome.”

“Damn, then I’m going to need to find the fountain of youth or make you fall madly in love with me.”

“Already halfway there.”

“That’s what I want to hear.” I thrust into her one more time and we both came hard, my cum filling her up. I growled with satisfaction at the possibility of making our baby.
