American Stepbrother by Jenna Milford (12)

Chapter 12

ADAM

I held out my hand, waiting for her to take it. I knew we were walking on the edge. Each day it became harder and harder for me to keep my instincts at bay. The way she moved. The way she smelled. The harmonious sound of her laughter. All of it made me want to pounce, to make her mine.

After a moment of hesitation, she placed her hand in mine.

My body instantly swelled with a surge of energy. I smirked, tightening my grip before I hoisted her onto the back of the bike. Her body settled against mine until I could feel her every inch from her large, voluptuous chest, to those wide, seductive hips.

“Hold on,” I told her, revving the engine. Doing so caused the vibrations to roll through our bodies. My smirk deepened, wondering how it felt against her pussy. Surely, she was as turned on as I was. Most days, it was written all over her face.

Her arms snaked around my body, her fingers locking in front of my chest.

I nearly moaned as her thighs tightened around me.

When she rested her head on my shoulder, I took that as a cue that she was settled. Quickly, I pulled up the kickstand and off we went.

As I picked up speed, Chloe moved even closer, her body pressed so firmly against my own that I could almost feel the rapid beating of her heart.

I drove even faster, feeling the rush of adrenaline through my veins.

“Adam!” Chloe squealed, her fingers locked together so tightly that her knuckles had turned white.

“What is it?”

“You’re going so fast!”

“Do you want me to slow down?”

“No!” Her response actually surprised her. I didn’t think she would enjoy riding my bike so much.

“Well, then hold on to your panties,” I said speeding up a tad bit more before I pulled up on the handlebars. The bike reared upwards, balancing on the back tire.

Chloe laughed. “This is amazing!” she exclaimed using the foot rests to hoist herself up a bit.

“Careful,” I warned, scared that she would lose her balance and fall.

She ignored me, moving her hands onto my shoulders as she practically stood up on my bike. The wind whipped through her hair. Through the mirrors, I could see the bright smile on her face. She looked like she was on top of the world.

Gently, I eased the bike back on the ground, continuing to cruise along the back roads.

“Wow…” she sighed in satisfaction as she settled back down, her arms once again around my body. “I never thought that I would like riding a motorcycle this much. It makes you feel so alive…”

“Now you know why I’m so obsessed with it.”

“Totally,” she giggled, still high on the adrenaline.

For a while, neither one of us said a word. We simply enjoyed the ride.

Eventually, Chloe broke the silence. “Where are we going anyway? I’m not expert on getting around, but I could have sworn that it only took us twenty minutes to get to the church. Shouldn’t we have gotten home by now?”

“Maybe we aren’t heading home,” I said mysteriously, wanting to pique her interest.

“Is this another one of your famous surprises?”

“Maybe…” I chuckled. “Maybe not…”

“You know, you suck at lying.”

“Do not,” I protested.

“Of course you do. You’ve been lying to yourself all summer long…” I didn’t quite understand her cryptic message.

What did she mean?

“I don’t follow…”

“We have been tiptoeing around our emotions ever since we met. It’s obvious we both care for each other…”

My heart skipped a beat at her words. She was right. I just didn’t want to admit it. We had both fallen for each other.

“Well, then let’s make the most of the time we still have left.” I pulled into the entrance of an abandoned-looking parking lot, parking my bike in front of a large chain link fence.

“What are we doing?” Chloe asked.

“Just trust me,” I grinned before I wrapped my fingers around the fence and started to climb. Once I got to the top, I jumped down, rolling to my feet so I wouldn’t get hurt.

“Adam!” Chloe rushed to the fence, her face pressed against it. “Are you insane? You could have seriously hurt yourself!” she chastised.

“I’m fine. You worry too much.”

“Only because I care about you…” she whispered, sounding like she wanted to say more but she never did.

Just like me, she was still holding back.

“Do you know how to climb a fence?”

“I’ve never tried…” She glanced up at the ten-foot structure, a look of apprehension painted on her face. “And I’m not so sure I want to…”

“Come on. Nothing is going to happen to you. I promise. I’ll be here to catch you, just like all the other times.”

She nibbled her bottom lip, swaying from foot to foot. “I don’t know…”

“Chloe.” I walked up to the fence so she could look me in the eye. “Nothing is going to happen to you as long as you trust me.”

Our eyes locked as our fingers brushed together through the fence. “Do you promise?”

I smiled, “Of course. Have I ever let you down before?”

She remained hesitant for a moment before she grabbed the fence and started making the trek upwards.

I watched her with bated breath, praying that she didn’t accidentally lose her grip. As long as she was on the other side, there was nothing I could do to help her. She had to make it over to me on her own.

“What do I do now?” Chloe asked as she reached the top.

“Get your leg over to my side.”

She nodded, carefully lifting her leg and draping it over the edge.

“Great. Now the other one. Make sure to keep holding on.” I was standing underneath her, watching her flexible body bend over the top of the fence. “You’re doing great. Just take a few steps down and then you’ll be all set to jump into my arms.”

“You want me to jump? Are you crazy?”

“You’ve already asked me that and the answer is still no.”

She locked up, her every muscle tensing with fear. “I can’t do it. I can’t jump.”

“Of course you can,” I said in a soothing voice. “Nothing is going to happen, Chloe.”

“What if you miss?”

“I won’t miss,” I promised as I stood there with my arms outstretched. “All you have to do is trust me.”

She glanced at the ground before closing her eyes.

“Chloe. Don’t focus on the distance between you and the ground. The ground doesn’t matter. All that matters is that you look at me.” I patted my chest, trying to get her attention.

Slowly, she opened one eye and then another.

“That’s it. Just look at me. If you don’t want to jump, that’s fine, just carefully climb down.”

She nodded.

“One foot at a time. Don’t rush,” I coached her through it until she was halfway down. “You’re doing great. I’ll have you breaking into places with me more often.”

“What?” Her eyes widened. “You didn’t tell me we were breaking in.”

“Oh, come on now, Miss Goody Two Shoes,” I chuckled. “You could probably just bat your eyelashes and the police would let you go with a slap on the wrist.”

“Adam! This isn’t funny. If Oxford finds out… they could revoke my acceptance.”

“Stop worrying.”

She shook her head, “I shouldn’t have come here.” As she started to overreact, she began to climb back up the fence.

“What are you doing?”

“I’m not going to get in trouble just for your sick thrills. An abandoned bridge was one thing… breaking in is another.”

“Chloe.”

Suddenly, she slipped. She screamed as she plummeted toward the ground.

I rushed forward, my arms ready to catch her.

She collided with my body hard and fast, thrusting me back with the impact. I stumbled, trying to get my footing but the momentum was too great.

We collapsed onto a nearby patch of grass.

Chloe’s body fell on mine, winding me for a minute.

“Adam! Are you okay?” she asked, holding me by the face.

I kept my eyes closed, wanting to have some fun with her.

“Adam! This isn’t funny.” She leaned down, pressing her ear against my chest. “I can hear your heart beating.”

Still, I continued to play dead, wondering what she would do.

“Adam… come on,” she whimpered. I could almost see her bottom lip quiver.

Unable to torment her any longer, I jumped up, wrapping her in my arms. Our lips naturally came together in a sweet, passion-filled kiss that lasted longer than I expected it to.

Chloe’s tongue traced my bottom lip, asking for entrance into my mouth. In only a few short weeks, she had become a phenomenal kisser. Practice really did make perfect.

Once her tongue was in my mouth, it tangled with mine, fighting for dominance.

I rolled us over, breaking the kiss so I could pin her wrists above her head. “You don’t know how hard you make it for me to control myself…” I panted, trying not to stare at how her shirt had dipped down, exposing part of her cleavage. A part of me just wanted to rip her shirt in half, lean down, and smother those breasts in kisses. I wanted to do that and so much more.

Why did she have to be my stepsister?

Her eyes burned with the same amount of desire I felt in my heart. Deep down, we both wanted the same thing but we couldn’t bring ourselves to cross over that line.

“Are you ready to break some rules?” I asked, finally letting go of her wrists and hoisting her to her feet. “Oh… and can you fix your shirt.”

She blushed darkly when she realized her bra was in plain view. “Sorry…”

“No worries.” I occupied myself by looking at the full moon, casting silvery light everywhere. The abandoned amusement park that loomed in front of us looked like a forest of mechanical giants from some sci-fi novel.

“Where are we anyway?” Chloe asked, standing right beside me.

“This used to be Lincoln Park. I came here a lot when I was a kid, but they had to close it down when I was in middle school.”

“Why?”

“They just weren’t making enough money.” I shrugged. “When I was a kid this place felt like a wonderland. There were so many cool rides and shows. I just wanted to share it with you.”

“So… we aren’t actually breaking in?”

“Well, there’s a lock on the fence, but no one has been here in ten years or so.” I thrusted my thumb in the direction of the overgrown jungle of grass we had just rolled around in. “So, you don’t have to worry about someone calling the cops on us.”

“Are you sure?”

“I’ve done this a million times before.”

“I don’t know where you keep finding these abandoned places.” She shook her head but nonetheless grabbed my hand. “But, the last time you brought me somewhere, I experienced the best sunset of my life, so I guess you deserve the benefit of the doubt.”

I chuckled, “You won’t regret it.” I kissed the top of her head before I guided her forward.

We had to cross through the giant parking lot. When this place was still operational, it used to be packed with cars, vans, and school buses. Now, all it housed were some wild trees that had broken through the blacktop.

Once we reached the admission building, I hoisted Chloe over the turnstile before I jumped over it myself.

We were now inside the amusement park.

“You know, there’s a lot of horror movies that start inside an amusement park.”

“Name one of them.”

“Final Destination 3,” she answered immediately.

“That’s more of a thriller than a horror,” I countered. “Besides, that series is pretty cheesy if you ask me.”

She shrugged. “I liked them.”

“You also prefer Doctor Who to Game of Thrones.”

“Hey! Doctor Who is a quality TV show. There’s a huge cult following.”

“Sure. Sure. But, Game of Thrones is still better.”

“Give me one solid reason why.”

Dragons. Sex. Jon Snow.

She rolled her eyes.

“That’s right. You know you can’t win this fight.”

“No. I just refuse to waste my breath on someone who doesn’t listen to logic.”

“Excuses. Excuses.”

We had weaved through most of the park. “You know what the best part of this place is?”

“No. What?” she asked, looking around, her face scrunched up in confusion. “What are we doing in the maintenance building?”

“You’ll see.” I released her hand before reaching into my pocket, pulling out one of her bobby pins.

“Hey! I was looking for that.”

“You have hundreds of them in your bedroom.”

“What were you doing in my bedroom without my permission?” she asked, her hands on her hips, giving me a bit of attitude.

I liked it.

“Actually, I snagged this on my way out. It was on your dresser. You were too dazed from my amazing kissing skills that you didn’t even notice.”

Her cheeks colored in red. “Whatever.”

I chuckled, turning my back to her as I took the door’s padlock into my hand.

“What are you doing?”

“So many questions. Didn’t you ever hear the expression that curiosity killed the cat?” I said as I inserted the bobby pin in the lock, fiddling with the tumblers.

Chloe didn’t say anything else but she watched closely as I picked the lock. She was standing so close that I could feel her hot breath on the side of my neck. I shivered, the urge to grab her and slam her against the wall nearly overwhelming me.

I had to take a deep breath to clear my mind of all the naughty thoughts that had begun to run through it.

Click!

The padlock popped open.

“Whoa… I didn’t think you could actually pick a lock with a bobby pin…” she whispered. “I thought it was just a movie gimmick or something.”

I winked. “I’m a man of many talents.”

“It seems so. Every time we hang out, you never cease to amaze me.”

I smiled, “Well, prepare to keep being amazed.” I finally opened the door.

A cloud of dust emerged from the room. I covered my mouth and nose with the crook of my elbow. I was about to reach for my phone and turn on the flashlight feature but Chloe had beat me to the punch.

She held her cell phone high overhead, illuminating the plethora of wires, roller coaster parts, boxes, and cleaning supplies that had all been tucked away inside the building.

I climbed over a few cans of paint, reaching the power box I had been looking for. I made quick work of the tiny lock, popping it open with ease.

Inside, all the switches were flipped to one side.

I glanced over at Chloe and grinned wildly.

“You’re not going to…”

Before she could finish her sentence, I flipped them all to the other side.

The sound of whirling engines filled the entire park. The metal giant was finally awakening from its prolonged slumber.

“How does the electricity still work?”

“Beats me.” I chuckled. “But I figured it out a few years ago. I’m glad they still haven’t caught on and cut it off.”

“This is crazy and totally not safe.”

“Stop worrying so much.” I grabbed her hand, pulling her back outside. There, the amusement park was filled with color from all the rides and game stands.

“Adam… I don’t think this is a very a good idea…” she whispered, following behind me, dragging her feet slightly. “If this place hasn’t been operational in years then…”

I stopped abruptly, turned around, and kissed her. I held her close for a moment before I pushed her against the wall to the haunted house attraction. My lips danced against hers with a fiery passion. My hands started to roam every inch of her body. Without even realizing it, I groped her chest, kneading her lovely breasts between my fingers.

She moaned softly, tilting her head back, exposing her neck.

I immediately took my chance to taste her sweet flesh. I took my time, leaving behind a trail of kisses, from her ear down to her collarbone. Once there, I nibbled on her skin, decorating it with love bites.

Her moans grew louder, her back arching with pleasure.

Inside my pants, my cock came to life, growing larger and larger with each passing second. If I didn’t pull away soon, I’d never be able to control myself. But, I just couldn’t stop. She tasted so sweet…

When her fingers tangled in my hair, I nearly lost it. She pulled slightly, only adding to my arousal.

I ventured further down, my lips lingering between her cleavages. I thought about pulling her bra down, but I didn’t know if I wanted to take things to that level just yet.

Through an incredible power of will, I managed to step back, panting with lust.

“Why did you stop…?” Chloe asked, her face flushed, her chest heaving.

“I want to show you something first.” I turned around and bent forward slightly. “Hop on!”

“Are you sure?”

“Yes.”

Without further question, she jumped onto my back, her thighs tightening around my torso and her arms wrapping around my neck.

“Hold on tight.”

With my hands on her thighs for support, I started running through the park.

Chloe giggled with glee, the sound angelic and pure. Hearing it made me want to protect her for all eternity.

To keep her safe, always.
