Arkvar (New Earth Flames Book 1) by Cara Wylde, Starr Huntress (11)

The next evening, Alison wasn’t disappointed. Not only had Ark prepared everything as she had showed him, but he’d also gone the extra mile. This time, with the right research.

“You look ravishing.” He bowed slightly as he handed her the immense bouquet of rose-like flowers.

Allie blushed and smelled them. To her surprise, they kind of smelled like the hot pink roses her great-grandmother used to boil with sugar to make jam. A pang of regret clouded her features. A time long gone… people and places she’d never see again…

“Is there something wrong?” Ark bit the inside of his cheek. “Did I mess up again?”

“No, no. Thank you. These are wonderful.”

She manifested a vase, arranged the roses, added water just by thinking of it, then placed the bouquet on her bedside table.

“Alright, I’m ready.”

Ark offered her his arm, and Allie wrapped herself around his strong biceps. She knew the way to the bar even when the corridors looked so different through the Captain’s eyes. Bent on enjoying the whole experience, she had decided to keep her walls down just a bit, so they could form a connection and work together to make this night memorable. Truth be told, Allie herself was tired of waiting. Her midnight dreams now only revolved around Arkvar and the feel of his heavy body pushing her into the mattress as he claimed her as his own.

As she allowed him access to her mind, Allie focused on the present. One step at a time. Her heels clicking on the floor, the soft fabric of her red dress against her skin… Oh, her skin! She bit her tongue to suppress an unwelcome grunt. For a moment, she lost her focus.

Ark tensed and threw her a concerned glance.

“Are you okay?”

“Yes, yes. Fine. All’s fine.”

Great! So, concentrating on the present wasn’t a good idea, either. Not with the teensy-weensy issue she’d been struggling with since morning. It had to go away on its own. It just had to.

Happy thoughts. “Think happy thoughts, Allie.”

Ark smiling down at her as he sneaked a finger under the thin strap of her lace panties.

The low growl vibrating through his chest told her she wasn’t doing a great job at not anticipating the future.

“Present. Stay in the present.”

The sole of her right foot itched so badly that she stomped on her heels, in a very much unladylike manner, startling Ark.

“Let’s walk faster,” she grinned. “I can’t wait.”

The bar had been turned into a proper fancy restaurant. Warm lights, candles flickering here and there, rose-like petals on the floor, and the soothing Unxendi music barely audible through the walls. Because no, The Hesperia didn’t have anything even remotely resembling speakers. There was only one table by the largest window, and two chairs waiting for them. Keiv, the bartender, was sporting an elegant suit that made him look more like a prince from a faraway land… err galaxy, than a waiter.

Allie and Ark ordered the first course, then spent long moments in silence, simply enjoying each other’s presence and the potent red wine. Yoniphant Blood, the label on the bottle read. Allie thought it was better not to ask. It warmed up her insides in mysterious, delicious ways, and that was all that mattered.

She couldn’t tell whether Ark was shy or simply giving her a break. Initially, she had intended to wait for him to start the conversation, but after a few minutes of sipping wine and smiling seductively, Allie had to say something, anything, to take her mind off the horrible itch which had started on her lower back and felt like it was making its way up her spine. She couldn’t possibly scratch it. She shifted in her seat, changed the position of her legs, and discreetly scratched her left wrist as she crossed her fingers on the edge of the table.

“The Hesperia…”

“Marvelous, isn’t it? More wine?” Ark poured before Allie had a chance to answer.

“Oh yes, but I was wondering… where does the name come from? It sounds oddly familiar and… Terran.”

The Captain furrowed his brows. On the one hand, he was surprised Alison hadn’t asked sooner. On the other hand, though, he wasn’t eager to tell her.

“Hmm…” She scratched her chin as if she were thinking. Her hand moved to her neck, and she scratched there, too. “Greek mythology. I’m sure I heard this name, or a word similar to it, in middle school. History. The Greeks. Has to be it.”

Ark nodded. “You’re more of a history buff than you think.”

“Good memory, that’s all. So, what is The Hesperia? I mean, not the ship.”

“The Ancient Greeks thought the Hesperides were the nymphs of evening and the golden light of the sunset. There were three of them, and they guarded a beautiful garden. The name itself comes from the word ‘hesperus’, which means ‘evening’. Compared to other known nymphs in the Greek mythology, the Hesperides were more like embodiments of various qualities and gifts. They were quite impersonal.”

“It’s weird.” She held his gaze and studied him carefully as she continued: “I would have expected you to give your ship a different name, one that is… I don’t know… unpronounceable. One that has to do with your home planet, Unxendio. Which, by the way, is a word that doesn’t exist in any language on Old Earth.”

“I guess it makes sense.”

“And a lot of it, too. So, tell me, Captain Arkvar… why is your ship named after some nymphs of Terran origin?”

Ark set his glass down and leaned back in his chair. He kept a straight, yet honest face.

“Protecting your planet was my first and only mission since the day I was promoted to the rank of Captain. I was free to choose my spaceship, my crew, and six other Captains with their own ships and crews. The day we set for Terra, we all decided to honor your planet by choosing Terran names for our ships. It was our way of paying tribute to a foreign planet and a foreign race we knew we’d spend most of our life protecting no matter what. We also knew that if we failed, the inhabitants came first. Not the planet, not the physical form of its people, but all the spirits living, growing, and evolving there.”

Allie cleared her throat. “I see.” She didn’t dare say more, lest she’d burst into tears. “And what are the names of the other ships in your fleet?”

“Captain Theren is commanding The Khepri, named after an Egyptian god, and Captain Kaelen has The Zorya, after the goddesses of the Morning Star and the Evening Star in Slavic mythology. They are brothers. Captain Veekerg commands The Anshar, named after a Sumerian sky deity, and Captain Makkal has The Huldra. The Huldra is a Scandinavian forest spirit. The Chantico, named after the Aztec goddess of fire is under Captain Koovak’s command, and finally, Captain Razaal has The Surya, – a Hindu solar deity. As you see, we tried to acknowledge and honor all the various cultures and beliefs of your species.”

It couldn’t be helped. Alison sniffed and wiped a small tear from the corner of her eye. She furrowed her brows at the slight hint of blue she was left with on her fingers, then shrugged. It was her makeup, probably.

“Excuse me for a minute.” She stood up just as the waiter was bringing the first course. “I’ll be back.”

She rushed to the restroom, slammed the door behind her, and went straight for the sink. She briefly studied her makeup in the mirror, nodded when she saw it was perfect, then washed her hands. The blue on the tips of her fingers didn’t seem very willing to go away. In fact, if she looked more closely, she could say the skin on her hands, wrists and arms had a subtle hue of blue.

“That’s just silly.”

She shook her head, and headed for one of the stalls. It wasn’t an emergency, but since she was there anyway, she could pee. Anything to get some alone time. As she sat on the cold toilet, Allie thought about what Ark had just confessed to her. Why had it made her so emotional? Did she miss Earth? Sure. Did she think the Captains choosing Terran names for their ships was a nice gesture? Kind of. Absentmindedly, she scratched her ankle. When she realized what she was doing, it was already red, almost prickling with blood.

“Damn it…”

She stood up and flushed the toilet, but not before catching a glimpse of the blue liquid in the water.

“This isn’t happening,” she moaned in despair.

She took a few more minutes to fix her hair and put a smile on her face, then went back to her date. Allie had been waiting for a perfect evening like this for a long time. She was determined to enjoy it. No matter what. A romantic dinner at a restaurant which looked exactly the way she had pictured it, with a tall, handsome man who treated her like a princess… What more could she ask for? That his skin wasn’t blue? It didn’t bother her anymore. After spending almost three weeks among the Unxendi, blue skin had become the norm.

“Welcome back.”

“Oh, this looks delicious!”

They made some small talk, Allie asked him about the food, and Ark was smart enough not to bring the name of his spaceship again into the conversation. However, when she went back to the restroom after no more than ten minutes, he started to have his doubts about whether she was truly feeling alright.

“Sorry. Girl stuff… you understand,” Allie apologized upon returning.

“Is everything okay?”

“Oh, yes! Time for the second course, right?”

“You haven’t finished your first one…”

She chuckled awkwardly and shifted in her seat. “I’ve had more than enough. I… I want to make sure I get to taste everything on the menu.”

Ark cocked an eyebrow and telepathically called the waiter. While Keiv was clearing the table, the Captain could do nothing but stare at Alison and the eagerness with which she was gulping down her third glass of wine. He reached for the bottle, but she was quicker than him.

“I love this thing,” she said as she poured herself a fourth glass.

“I can ask for more…”

She nodded. Scratched her ear. Crossed her legs. Uncrossed them.

“Alison, are you sure you’re okay? Maybe you’ve had too much wine.”

“No. I haven’t had enough, actually.”

Allie was trying. She was trying really hard, but she couldn’t hide it anymore. Her smile was gone, her brows were furrowed, and sweat was slowly gathering at the roots of her blonde hair. Unexpectedly, she yelped, moaned, and frantically started scratching her left shoulder.

“Okay, screw it! I can’t take it anymore!”

Ark stood up and rounded the table. His gaze ran up and down her body.

“The itching is driving me crazy! It began this morning, I thought it would go away, but it only got worse and worse. I thought it might be some sort of allergy, but it’s not. Two hours ago, I caught one of those little pests that were all over Skippy three days ago. I hoped that was it. Clearly, it wasn’t. I think they’re all over me.” She started sobbing while her sharp nails went to alleviate the evil itchiness on her thighs and calves. “How the hell do I get rid of them?”

Arkvar took a step back and started laughing wholeheartedly. He was relieved it was just fleas. He could deal with fleas.

“It’s not funny, you heartless moron! Not funny at all.” Tears of frustration ran down her cheeks. She wiped them with the back of her hand, which she then shoved into Ark’s face. “And my tears are blue! I’ve been peeing and pooping blue for the past few days, too. How does that sound? It was just light blue at first, I ignored it. Turns out, I’m not very good at lying to myself. I’m pretty sure my skin is turning blue, now. Your stupid Unxendi food, and drinks, and everything are making me blue! Literally! Friggin’ blue! And, oh my God, these alien fleas of yours…” She ran her hands through her hair, pulling at the strands. “Great! Now my head is itching.”

Ark knelt beside her, still chuckling.

“First of all, they’re not our alien fleas. Your pet brought them with him from planet Lyra. They’re not affecting us, you see? Only you and Skippy. But Skippy is free of them.”

“Oh, of course! Why would they latch themselves onto a bunch of Unxendi when they have sweet Terran blood to feast on?”

“We’re immune to them.”

“How do you even know that?”

“To rid Skippy of fleas, I took him to the science lab. Ran some tests, figured out our race is immune to the pests, then simply inserted Unxendi DNA into your pet’s DNA.”

“That sounds awfully complicated. Couldn’t you have made an antidote?”

“The Chief Scientist thought about that, but concluded it would have been a temporary solution. Don’t worry, it doesn’t affect Skippy at all.”

“Awesome! Then take me to the lab and give me some of that DNA, or whatever… Just fix this!”

Ark sighed. “Impossible. We’ve studied your species. You’re very complex, and it’s best not to mess with your codes. The results would be unpredictable, and most likely dangerous.”

“What are you talking about? I’m already turning into one of you. Want to see the color of my pee? I’ve drunk enough wine…”

“Drunk enough to… pee, or to show me the color of your pee?”

“Smart-ass…” Despite itching all over, she did manage a chuckle.

“There might be one solution, though…”

Allie waited for him to continue. When he didn’t, she rolled her eyes and scratched her nose.

“Oh, the suspense… The mystery… Just spit it out already!”

The Captain stood up and cleared his throat. He smoothed down the sleeves of his uniform, paced a bit, then sat down across from her. He took a sip of wine, cleared his throat again, fidgeted in his chair, and all the while made sure to avoid her impatient gaze.

“Arkvar,” she almost growled. “The solution. Now.”

“Did you know that females are capable of absorbing a male’s DNA?”

“Huh? We’re that smart?”

“Very.”

“Wait. There has to be a catch.”

“No catch. Females will absorb and retain the DNA of every male they have sexual intercourse with.”

Allie blinked, then blinked again. It might have been the male DNA already residing in her brain that struggled with processing the information. After all, men were known to be slower than women. Ha!

“So, what you’re saying is… to get rid of the alien fleas, I need to have sex with you.”

Ark straightened his back, then forced himself to keep his composure.

“No, not at all. I would never say, or even imply that. I’m only stating a scientific fact which has been proved to apply to females of all species. Yours included.”

Well, the good news was the conversation had taken such an interesting turn that Allie forgot about how badly her whole body itched. It still felt like it was on fire, but that was fine. She was in hell and getting used to it. She pulled her chair closer to the table.

“You know, nothing would make me happier than calling it all the most pathetic BS I’ve ever heard, but I think you might be right. I remember stumbling across some articles while happily scrolling through my Facebook feed some months ago. Oh, Facebook… How I miss my Facebook, my Instagram… Pinterest. It’s all history, now.”

Ark finally looked at her. He did blush a bit when he caught her gaze. It was all so ridiculous! Allie wasn’t, by any means, the first woman he’d ever been with. So, why was he so scared of her? Why was he so desperate for her approval and so terrified he might chase her away?

“Anyway. I didn’t pay much attention. Not a history buff, and certainly not a science buff. Don’t ask me what I like. I don’t want you to change your good opinion of me.”

“I could never change my opinion of you.”

They looked at each other for what felt like a suspended moment in time. Neither of them knew what would happen next. They had both hoped for something, for the only thing that could follow a sexy, romantic dinner, but their dinner had nothing in common with the word “romantic”. Allie was thinking it, and Ark could read it when he focused on her thoughts. He could also sense her disappointment. She had been excited at the idea of the perfect evening with the perfect date, and it had all gone down the drain. None of their plans had worked as expected. Now, more than ever, Ark was convinced that no matter how hard he tried, there was no way he could get the seduction part right. He was a failure. He couldn’t even get his twin flame to like him.

“You’re not a failure,” she whispered.

“You’re in my head.”

“And you’re in mine.”

Telepathically, they were dancing around each other. Allie’s psychic walls weren’t completely lowered, and Ark knew he had to keep his up, lest she’d see just how much he wanted her, and how obsessed he was with her body, her scent, her soft skin… How much he craved to touch and kiss her. So, where did that leave them? Staring into each other’s eyes, trying to guess what the other one might do, and wondering whether there was any way of salvaging the evening.

Ark would have made the first step. He would have said “screw it!”, picked her up, and taken her to his quarters. What made him hesitate? The fifty shades of a failed attempt which had left her with a sore bum and him with a room full of sex toys, and a wounded ego. If she had been any other woman, an Unxendi, he would’ve never had second thoughts. Not in a million years. But she wasn’t. This was Alison Page, a Terran who was his twin flame. A Terran he shouldn’t have rescued. So far, he’d avoided thinking about the Council, but if he were to be honest with himself, he kind of expected this Terran to cost him his career.

Allie didn’t know what she was waiting for. For him to make a move? He’d made enough of those, and she’d shot him down every time. Maybe it was time for her to take the lead. But, did she want to? The decision in front of her had nothing to do with the fleas which were eating her alive, nor with the so-called scientific solution Ark had just given her. No. This wasn’t casual. Her heart knew that if she gave herself to the Unxendi Captain, there would be no turning back. She’d be his forever. She couldn’t feel the twin flame connection yet, but she had a vague impression she might feel it later. This was bigger and greater than marriage. On Old Earth, marriage had long lost its significance. Easily attainable, and just as easy to break. Sometime in her twenties, Allie had decided it wasn’t a must for her. She had more friends who were divorced than friends who were married, let alone happily married. No, the decision she was facing here and now didn’t even come close to what marriage was for her species. Then again, maybe it wasn’t a decision at all. Maybe, it was destiny.

“Alison.”

“Arkvar.”

She stood up. Slowly, languidly, making a show of pushing her chair back and rounding the table.

He met her half way.

She looked up into his eyes and placed her hands on his broad chest. Even in high heels, she still needed to lift herself up on her tiptoes to reach his lips.

“Tell me what you want,” he whispered.

She smiled. “I want you to rid me of these awful pests, of course.”

As the words left her red, luscious lips, her walls fell down completely. Allie’s mind invaded Ark’s own. With a sigh, he let go and removed the barriers he’d so carefully held in place. There was nothing between them now. No secrets, no hidden thoughts, no regrets about what the both of them wanted.

Ark captured Allie’s delicious lips in a long, demanding kiss, and felt her body melt in his arms. He pulled her against his body, aligning her soft, full curves with the strong edges of his muscles, and let his hands roam all over her back and hips.

Allie moaned and dug her fingers into his raven black hair. She pulled at the short strands, grabbed the back of his neck, pushed her tongue between his lips… She rolled her hips seductively, and trembled when she felt his erection press against her stomach. Too many clothes, too much space separating them still. She raised her right leg and tried to wrap it around his waist. This was taking too long. In their heads, they were already making love. His mind had already penetrated hers, and she loved it. She wanted more, much more. She was hungry, thirsty, and desperate for him. It felt as if she was just now realizing she had been waiting for him all her life. She had lived with a void inside of her, and his thoughts, his touches, and the taste of his tongue were finally beginning to fill that void.

“Take me…”

“Alison…”

“… to your room.”

He kissed her feverishly. There was no time to walk to his quarters. They could have run and not gotten there fast enough. They didn’t have time to talk about it, either. Ark knew she was ready. Now that he had full access to her mind, he knew how strong she was. Her telepathic and manifesting abilities matched the ones of his race.

“Do you trust me?” he asked.

“Yes.”

No pause. No hesitation. She meant it.

Ark visualized his personal portal and used his mind to pull her energy through it. He was impressed at how easily she surrendered to him. No questions, no doubts, no need for explanations… When they opened their eyes, they were in his quarters.

Allie pulled away for a moment, and looked around her. She squealed and clapped her hands in excitement, quickly taking in the sofa, the desk, and the king-sized bed peeking from behind the open door of the bedroom. She went straight for it, and motioned for Ark to follow her. On the way, she undid the zipper on the back of her dress, and by the time she reached the edge of the bed, she had stepped out of the garment.

Ark stopped in his tracks. The sight of her lingerie-clad body swaying seductively as she walked, the way her blonde curls bounced on her bare shoulders, the simple and natural gesture of undressing and offering herself to him… It was all too much. It was more than he had imagined. When she turned to face him, there was such confidence in her sky-blue eyes that Ark was ready to fall to the ground and kiss the soles of her feet in adoration.

The telepathic connection they had was incredible. Allie knew exactly what she was doing to him. Having access to his thoughts meant she had the power to drive him insane with lust. Holding his hungry gaze, she started touching herself lightly, gently running her fingers down her full breasts, soft stomach, over the delicate fabric of her red panties, and up and down her generous hips. At her silent command, Unxendi music began playing through the walls, enveloping them in soft, seductive tones, inspiring her hips to sway and roll as her hands made her own skin sing with pleasure. Soon, her fingers were teasing the straps of her bra and panties, playing with them just enough to make Ark’s heart beat faster.

“Come here,” she whispered.

Once he was within arm’s reach, Allie started unbuttoning his uniform, seeking access to those perfect pecks she had been dreaming of for days. Her white, tiny hands looked strange against his dark blue skin. Then again, if she looked closer, she could see the faint bluish hue covering her pores. This time, she smiled. Maybe it wasn’t such a bad thing that she was becoming more like him. Her fingers grabbed and massaged, caressed and marveled at the strong muscles underneath his alien flesh. She moved her hands lower and lower, counting the squares on his abs, following the sharp lines that led to the massive erection still hidden inside his uniform pants. Before going for the zipper, Allie took her time to cup him through the rough fabric, enjoying the grunt vibrating in his chest.

He allowed her to touch and explore. Yes, he wanted nothing more than to throw her onto the bed and enter her, but he knew this moment was special. It would’ve been a real shame to rush it. He almost changed his mind and threw all caution out the window when she grabbed his cock and ran her fingers up and down the length. He grunted, closed his eyes, but then she did it again, this time stepping so close to him that her breasts crushed against his bare chest. That was it. He couldn’t take it anymore. He wrapped his arms around her waist, lifted her off the ground, and threw her right on top of the covers. She yelped and started laughing, but his mouth was there to muffle the sounds and give her vocal chords something better to do: moan.

Ark cupped her breasts in his big, strong hands while tracing kisses up and down her neck and collarbone. He licked, nipped, and sucked until Allie was writhing with impatience. He could smell her arousal. He would soon taste it, too, but he was determined to take his time and fully enjoy every minute of torturing her delicious body.

“Oh…” Allie moaned when Ark pulled at her bra, not even bothering to figure out how it worked. “It’s like you’ve never seen one of these before…”

His only lesson in women’s clothing had probably been the two Fifty Shades movie. The bra ended up under her breasts, which only made them look fuller and perkier.

He wrapped his lips around a hard nipple while teasing the other with his fingers. When she moaned louder and arched her back, Ark knew he was on the right track. He sucked and nibbled at her breasts until Allie’s whole body was trembling, and her nails were digging into his shoulders. One second, she was trying to pull him up to kiss him, the next, she was pushing him down, trying to get him to the place that really needed his attention. He smiled as he kissed his way to the elastic band of her red panties.

Allie opened her legs wide and pushed her pelvis into his face, then moaned in frustration when he held her down. No man had ever teased her like this. In truth, she couldn’t believe Arkvar could be so patient and thorough after she’d made him wait for so long. He refused to remove her panties. Instead, he kissed and licked around them, intentionally avoiding her soaked core. When he finally touched her sensitive folds through the lacey fabric, she almost came.

“Mmm… please.”

“Please what?”

“You know what.”

He chuckled and pushed her panties aside, just enough to run the tip of his finger from her clit to her entrance. He took his sweet time to look at her pussy and inhale the intoxicating scent that told him she wanted him more than anything. He rubbed her gently, listening to her moans, soft curses, and indulging in all the dirty little thoughts running through her head. She hadn’t even seen his cock, yet the image playing in her mind over and over was of him pushing himself inside her and fucking her hard and fast. It was a good thing he knew how she liked it… Still, Ark was still determined to make her wait. The anticipation was killing him, too, but the reward would be worth it.

After a few more minutes of teasing and lightly stroking, he rolled the panties down her long legs and attacked her throbbing clit with his tongue, while burying two fingers deep inside her wet pussy. It all lasted less than he expected. Soon, Allie was moaning loud, arching her body off the bed, and shaking with a mind-blowing orgasm.

Eyes wide, staring at the ceiling, she thought it would never end. Waves of pleasure ran up and down her spine and made her toes curl. In a daze, she started pulling at him, scratching and biting, forcing him to climb on top of her and get rid of his stupid pants. How could he still be dressed when she was sprawled on his bed, naked and ready for another orgasm?

“So wet,” he whispered against her lips as he entered her slowly. “You’re warm, soft, and… tight.”

Allie laughed, but she didn’t know why. He hadn’t said anything funny. Then again, she wasn’t thinking straight. If she had known having sex with an alien felt like being high…

“You’re so beautiful…”

She looked up at him. The adoration she saw in his eyes threw her off guard.

“You’re not bad yourself.”

She dug her heels into his hips, urging him to move faster. He was big. It had been enough to touch him through his pants to see he was bigger than any man she’d been with. She was bracing herself for some real pain, but she didn’t care. She didn’t care if he split her in two if that meant she’d be his forever.

Ark leaned in for a deep kiss. As he thrust his tongue between her lips, he entered her in a swift motion, burying the entire length of his cock inside her throbbing pussy. He moved slowly at first, then faster, picking up the rhythm and making the bed shake underneath them.

Allie’s eyes went wide with the realization that it didn’t hurt in the least. In fact, it felt like his size was ideal for her. Like their bodies had been made to fit perfectly. Two pieces of a puzzle. How was it even possible? For a moment, the mystery distracted her, then Ark slightly changed the angle, and she forgot all about it. Her hands reached over her head to grab at the pillows, the sheets, anything… Her body met his every thrust, eagerly opening itself more and more, her pussy ready to receive everything he had to give her.

“Come inside me,” she whispered. “I need you to come inside me…”

Ark wanted to make a joke about how that was actually necessary if she wanted to get rid of Skippy’s fleas, but it would have ruined the moment. Also, he was too busy staring at her wet, open lips, and being entranced by the way her full breasts bounced in rhythm with his deep, strong thrusts. His Alison had the body of a goddess. A sensual, fertile goddess who was now his and only his. His twin flame. The woman he’d crossed the entire Universe to find.

“Oh yes! Yes, don’t stop!”

She screamed when his cock hit her just right and threw her over the edge. She moaned, mumbled his name, and telepathically begged for him to keep going. She needed him to keep going. She pulled at the sheets, and she was pretty sure she heard the distinct sound of fabric ripping under pressure. It felt like her orgasm lasted forever, and then, when she was just about to recover, she felt him tense above her and shoot his seed deep within her passage. The sheer sensation of being claimed so fully and eagerly, of being filled by the man she’d fantasized about, threw her over the edge again, and this time she screamed louder, her voice so tired and hoarse that if anyone heard her, they might think she was screaming in pain, not pleasure.

Ark let out a single long moan as he came inside her. Her walls clenched and unclenched around him, squeezing him and milking him dry, as if she didn’t want it to end. He knew she didn’t want this moment to end. He could see it, hear it, and feel it with his mind, body, and soul. He didn’t want it to end either.

They weren’t two anymore. They were one.
