Assassin's Angst: The Santorno Series by Sandrine Gasq-Dion (28)

Cameron couldn’t stop looking at the mountains covered in snow. They had taken a private jet and landed at a private airstrip before being ushered into a stretch limo by a huge guy who barely spoke two words the entire time. Evan had fallen asleep on his shoulder and Jensen was sleeping on Max’s lap.

“Any idea who we are visiting?” Cameron asked Max.

“Nope. When was the last time you were ushered into a limo by an armed guard?”

Cameron pretended to think about it. “Um, never.”

“I know a little about Jensen’s family. What I’ve heard, you know — rumors and such. But I’m starting to think the rumors are true.”

“Well, I guess we will find out.”

They pulled up in front of a very large mansion, crawled out of the limo, and Cameron watched a man run out. As he got closer, he realized it was a kid, maybe late teens or so, dark eyes and hair, quite the looker.

“Jensen!” Nikolai plowed into them.

“Damn, Nik! What the hell happened to you?” Jensen asked incredulously.

“I grew up. And who are your guests?”

“Oh, Nikolai Markov, Max Remo and Cameron Dalton.”

“Markov?” Cameron repeated.

“Uh oh, here comes the realization part.” Nikolai chuckled.

“There are my nephews!” Andrei came out and picked Jensen and Evan up. “I have missed you!”

“I think I just had an orgasm,” Cameron whispered.

“I have not had that reaction,” Andrei teased.

“Yeah, you have.” Vince corrected as he came out. “You’re hot, babe.”

“Holy shit,” Cameron whispered. “I know you; both of you.”

Evan tried to smile. “I didn’t know how you would react so…”

Cameron shook Vince’s hand, pumping it up and down. “God, you are a legend Mr. Markov.”

“Jensen!” Justin came out and grabbed his son. “Oh my God, I missed you!”

“Justin Maddox is your dad?” Cameron’s jaw dropped.

“Good to meet you.” Justin shook Cameron’s hand.

“Dad, this is Max. Max, my dad,” Jensen introduced.

Max shook his hand. “You’re a legend too. I’ve tried to beat your score at the range.”

“Any luck?” Justin chuckled.

“Nope.” Max shook his head.

“Ah! There is my boy!” Dimitri came out and picked Evan up. “You are all right? Is your head healed?”

“Who are you?” Evan teased his dad.

“Very funny.” Chris hugged him tight.

“Did I hear right? You shoot, Max?” Vince asked Max.

“Yes sir, both Cameron and I shoot on weekends,” Max answered.

“I didn’t know that.” Evan turned Cameron.

Andrei watched Vince fidget. “Oh for Christ’s sake, take them to the range, Vince.”

“Really?” Vince smiled wide. “Thanks, babe.”

“He is like a child.” Andrei rolled his eyes.

“I can’t believe this. I mean, I read about you guys and stuff in papers, but I never thought…” Cameron shook his head. “Wow.”

“Well, let’s get suited up then.” Evan smiled.

“Wait, you shoot too?” Cameron asked Evan.

“Who do you think trained me?” Evan motioned to all the men.

“God, no wonder you kicked my ass.”

“As I recall, you sent my son into a coffee table.” Dimitri arched an eyebrow.

“That was a total accident.” Cameron took Evan’s hand. “Which I will never forgive myself for.”

“It’s okay. I’ll get you back.”

Cameron picked him up, hugging him tight. Chris took Dimitri’s hand.

“Awwww, you guys are so cute.”

“All right guys, half an hour and we meet at the range.” Justin winked.

Evan was unpacking when Cameron came in. He leaned against the door and let out a loud cough.

“So, head of the Russian mob is your uncle, huh?”

Evan blushed. “I didn’t know how you would take it, especially knowing some of the stuff my Uncle Vince has done.”

Cameron walked over to Evan and leaned down to kiss him. “You already got me, Evan. Nothing you could do or say or who you know would change my mind.”

“Oh, you got it bad for me.”

“Yeah, I do. You okay with that?”

Evan wrapped his arms around Cameron’s neck. “Shut up and kiss me.”

Cameron ran his lips softly over Evan’s, tightening his arms around his waist. Evan opened up to him and he took it.

“Ooooh la la!” Chris’ voice interrupted.

“Dad!” Evan blushed and hid in Cameron’s neck.

“Hot damn, doc. You sure know how to kiss a boy.” Chris winked.

“I’m not a doctor yet, Mr. Voronova.”

“Our son is dating a soon to-be-doctor? Oh, I am liking this.” Dimitri came up behind Chris.

“Oh God, please go away,” Evan whined.

“Have you seen his porn collection?” Chris asked.

“Dad!”

“All right, all right!” Chris held up his hands. “Hurry up. Your uncles are waiting to take you to the range.”

“Did I hear Van?”

“Viktoriya? Oh, wow!”

“Hey, you!” Viktoriya hugged him tight. She looked at Cameron, eyeing him up and down. “Who is this delicious man?”

“Cameron Dalton.” He shook her hand.

“Who is delicious?” Luka poked his head in the room.

“Who are you?” Evan frowned.

“Luka Tostov, Viktoriya’s bodyguard.”

“I’ll bet,” Evan teased.

“Shut up, Van.” Viktoriya smacked him.

Vince drove them the mile-and-a-half to the shooting range. Max shielded his eyes from the sun and took in the piece of property; it went on for miles. There was an obstacle course on one side complete with barbed wire.

“This is hard core.” Max whistled.

“I’m sorry I didn’t tell you.” Jensen took his hand. “Are you mad?”

“Are you nuts? I just met the two most notorious men in the world.”

“Yeah? You want an autograph?”

“I want pictures. Screw the autograph.” Max chuckled.

“I will gladly pose.” Andrei winked.

“How come my friends don’t act like that?” Nikolai pouted. “They hear Markov and run screaming.”

“I don’t.” Evan mussed his hair.

They set up the targets, and, as always, Justin took his famous shot — hitting the target every time without looking. Brandon had finally joined them. He watched his husband, then watched their son take the exact same shot. He only missed one.

“Almost, kid.” Justin winked.

“Damn.” Max looked at Jensen’s target.

“I want to do it one more time, Dad,” Jensen insisted.

“Okay.” Justin jogged out and set up the target. He stood behind his son and lined him up. “Relax and listen to your heartbeat. Cleanse your mind.”

Jensen turned his head and looked at Max. He smiled and emptied the entire clip.

“Damn, boy! You are a Maddox!” Justin crowed.

Jensen studied the target. He hit the bull’s eye consistently every time without even looking at the target.

“Oh my God!” Jensen ran down to the target. “Holy shit!”

“Jensen!” Brandon scolded.

“Sorry.”

“It only took a year.” Evan rolled his eyes.

“Jealous?” Jensen winked.

The next two hours were spent with the guys trying to make the same shot. After they were convinced the gun was rigged, they moved on to the heavy hitters. Evan pulled out the AK-47 and smiled.

“Ready for some fun?”

Cameron’s eyes went wide.

“I get the M16 this time.” Nikolai pulled it out, checking the chamber for a round before loading the clip.

“I added some new targets,” Vince told Nikolai.

Nikolai looked at the target and shivered. It was Yuri Borkosky, the man who had kidnapped him when he was younger, broken his fingers, and beaten him until he bled. He looked at his dad. Vince took his hand and ran his fingers over the fingers that were once broken.

“It’s therapeutic. You had no control then, Nik.”

Nik looked at the target and unloaded the entire clip from the rifle. The target was blown to pieces until there was nothing left. He put the gun down and smiled.

“You’re right. I do feel better.”

“Nik?”

Nikolai turned to see Colin. He closed his eyes and opened them again. “Colin?”

“Did I change that much?” Colin teased.

“Colin!” Nikolai ran and hugged him hard. “God, I missed you!”

Colin held him in his arms and closed his eyes. God, he had missed him. When Vince told him Jensen and Evan were coming to visit, Colin had been on the first plane out when school let out.

“I missed you,” Colin whispered.

Max elbowed Jensen. “Boyfriend?”

“God, we all wish.” Jensen sighed.

“You’re here.” Nikolai held him tight.

“Did you want me to go?”

Nikolai shook his head. “I’m so glad to see you.”

“Okay, guys. Let’s get back to the house and get cleaned up for dinner. Vince is going to make steaks on the grill,” Andrei informed them all.

“Like the big, fat, juicy, steaks?” Evan almost pleaded.

“Is there another kind?” Vince laughed, picking him up. “I missed you, Van.”

Max was looking around the bathroom — well, one of the many bathrooms. The house was huge. He was surprised he hadn’t gotten lost. The only way he knew he was in the house of the head of the Russian mob was the presence of armed guards, and even they were stealthy.

Once he left his room, he wasn’t sure he’d find it again. He was going to need a GPS to get around. Jensen was waiting for him. The smile that played around his lips was just sinful.

“What are you smiling like that for?” Max took his hand.

“I thought we could make out before dinner.” Jensen grabbed his ass.

“Oh, I don’t know. I’m so tired and hungry.” Max kissed his neck, pushing Jensen back into his room.

Jensen pushed him up against the door and kissed him. He parted his lips and took his mouth. Then Max was picking him up stumbling to the bed. Max settled on top of him, caressing his face while Jensen’s hands were wandering up his chest. Max let out a soft moan.

“I love the way you kiss me,” Jensen whispered.

“I love kissing you. Your lips are so soft.” Max ran his fingertip over them.

“Are you sure you’re okay with all this? I didn’t mean to spring it on you.”

“Yes, you did. This was my test, wasn’t it?”

“I didn’t know how much you knew about me, who my family is, who my dad is. We all have the same problem as Nikolai. People run screaming. I look just like my dad. People know who he is.”

“Look, if these people run scared, it’s because they don’t know you, or your family, for that matter. I’m not so naïve to think the world is full of happy, beautiful, people. It’s scary out there, and some people need to be put down. So, in my eyes, your dad is a pretty damn okay guy.”

“My other dad does the surveillance and computer stuff. He’s the tech guy.”

“He’s so cute.” Max chuckled.

“I know, huh?”

“I thought you were gorgeous the second I laid eyes on you, Jensen.” Max kissed him. “And you’re smart too. I don’t care about anything else.”

Jensen looked into his eyes and pulled him down. He ran his tongue along Max’s bottom lip. Max was sliding his hand down Jensen’s thigh, grabbing his ass and squeezing. Jensen moved his hips under Max, feeling Max’s erection on his hip, and moved Max’s hand to his crotch.

“God, Jensen!”

“I want you,” Jensen growled.

Max licked his lip and locked onto his mouth. He ground his hips into him and bit his bottom lip. Things heated up fast, and Max broke the kiss, breathing hard.

“We need to get back downstairs. They will be coming to get us for dinner.”

“Can we finish what we started after dinner?”

“God, yes.”

Evan had just come out of the shower when he ran into a shirtless Cameron. He tried keeping his mouth shut… it didn’t work. Cameron picked him up, took him to his room, and shut the door with his foot. He put Evan up against the door and kissed him hard. Evan inched his hands up his chest, loving the feel of his strong muscles. He wrapped his arms around Cameron’s neck, deepening the kiss.

“I want to feel your hands on me.”

“Holy shit.” Cameron walked them to the bed and put Evan down before gliding his hands up Evan’s thighs.

Evan’s breaths sped up the higher Cameron’s hand got. He arched his back when Cameron’s hand brushed his balls, and let out a loud moan. Cameron couldn’t stop looking at him. His face was absolutely incredible. He kissed him, letting his tongue roam. Evan’s tongue met his eagerly and his hands fisted his hair as he deepened the kiss. Evan was wrapping his legs around him.

“We have to stop.” Cameron backed off, breathing hard.

“What’s wrong?”

“We need to go eat, remember?” Cameron pulled him up.

“Oh, you are such a tease.” Evan pouted.

“I want you, Evan. You have no idea how much.”

“Really?” The way Cameron was looking at him made his heart race. He couldn’t believe he was looking at the same guy he’d met at the beginning of the school year. The roommate from hell was heavenly.

“God knows I haven’t been much fun to live with, and I promise I’ll be cleaner from now on. I want you to be happy with your roommate.”

“Trust me.” Evan ran his hands up his chest, wrapping them around his neck. “I’m very happy with my roommate.”

“You bad boy!” Cameron smacked his hand. “Stop that.”

Evan chuckled and pulled Cameron down. “I love your lips.” Evan’s lips teased his and he gave in. Evan rolled them over and he stroked his hands into his hair, searching his mouth.

“I know.” Evan broke the kiss smiling. “We have to go eat.”

“Tease.”

“Slob.”
