Axel - A Bad Boy In Bed (Bad Boys In Bed Book 2) by Kendra Riley (2)

Chapter2

In the morning, Rita woke up with her mind feeling foggy. She blinked a few times, trying to get her bearings as she looked around, trying to remember where she was and what she had done the night before. As she saw the interior of a car, she scrunched her well-groomed eyebrows in confusion. What was she doing naked in some random car? She didn’t even own a car…

With this thought in her mind, she started to move. She stopped instantly when she felt someone pressed up against her body. Rita looked down and her eyes grew large as she spotted Axel. In a flash, the night's events played out before her like a movie as her heart instantly leapt forward in excitement. She could feel a slight sweat break out on the back of her neck as she thought about the feeling he had given her, the way his hands had moved over her body, how his teeth had sunk into her flesh, how his cock had felt deep inside of her. She shuddered.

As her mind recalled these memories, Axel started to wake up, his dark brown eyes now coming into focus. They suddenly grew large as he looked at Rita. His face swelled with confusion for a moment before he sat up quickly. “What…?” he mumbled to himself, rubbing the side of his head as he tried to recall last night’s events.

“Are you okay?” Rita whispered softly, a look of concern on her face as noted his almost-pained expression.

“What happened last night?” Axel asked as he looked around. His hand rested on the seat before he quickly moved it away. It was now covered in last night’s juices. He stared at his palm for a moment and then up at Rita. “Oh… I remember…” His face contorted with a smirk as he leaned forward and pressed his lips to hers. Their lips danced together in harmony before he pulled away, his dark eyes shining with a hint of mystery. “You were pretty good last night…” he mused before he ran a hand through his dark, curly, brown hair. “What time is it anyway?” he asked, looking at her as if she knew the answer.

Rita shrugged her shoulders before she rummaged under the seats, looking for her clothes. “Beats me, but the sun is out…so, morning?”

“Thanks. I really couldn’t have figured that out for myself,” Axel responded almost rudely as he opened up the car door and got out. Standing naked in the parking lot, he looked around to see it was still completely empty. His smirk deepened as he remembered driving here last night, with the intention of some wild time with the girl he had met at the club. As far as he was concerned, he had been rather successful.

Feeling proud of himself, he leaned into the car, grabbing his clothes and tossing them on. As he was buttoning up his pants, Rita came out of the car, wearing nothing else but his t-shirt. His eyes rested on her, taking in her figure as a spark of arousal flowed through him before he suppressed it and moved closer to her.

“You look good with that on… but I’m afraid I’m going to have to take it back.” His voice was a hushed whisper as if he were telling her some sort of secret.

Before Rita could react, he snatched the shirt off her body and covered up his rock-hard midsection.

“Hey!” Rita pouted, as she now stood there naked.

He grinned and pulled her close, his hands on her hips. He was about to lean down and kiss her, but before he could, however, she wiggled her way out of his grasp and grabbed her dress, tossing it on. She was about to go back in and grab her panties, but Axel beat her to it.

“I don’t think you need these,” Axel said quickly, a light tone in his voice as he grabbed the thin material with both hands, effortlessly ripping it in half.

“Hey! I liked those…” Rita pouted even more as she glared up at him, snatching up the remnants of her blue-colored panties.

“But I like you even more without them…” Axel’s voice was sensual as he whispered into her ear, leaning in close, his large hand running up her thigh, getting closer and closer to her exposed pussy. She moaned softly before he pulled away, leaving her with a desperate expression on her face.

“You suck!” she cried out, crossing her arms over her small chest and getting in the passenger seat, a mock look of disdain on her face as she tried to appear angry.

Axel laughed to himself as he saw her countenance. His spirits were high as he made his way over to the driver’s seat and started the car. The engine purred to life and he rubbed the dashboard in an almost affectionate manner.

“What are you doing?” Rita asked in confusion as she looked over at her handsome companion.

“Just admiring my baby. I built this car from scratch, you know.”

“You did not,” Rita retorted quickly.

“In essence, I did,” he answered, trying to defend his achievement. “I updated it with a bunch of new parts. There’s barely any original parts left on this thing.”

“So it’s like the Ship of Theseus?” she inquired, giving him a curious look.

“The ship of who now?” He turned his body, giving her his attention.

“The Ship of Theseus. If you have a ship and you replace all the parts, is it still the same ship?” she explained, recalling the paradox.

“I don’t know…” He grimaced as his hand tightened on the wheel and he looked forward before placing the car into gear and easing it toward the exit. “Anyway… do you want me to drop you off at your place or something?”

“That would be good, thanks,” Rita responded, offering him a small smile.

“Okay. Where do you live?” He leaned his seat back, getting in a more comfortable position before he rested his hand on the transmission, waiting for her answer.

“South Maple Street. It’s a cul-de-sac in the Orchid district.” Her voice was level and confident.

“Isn’t that where all the rich people live?” he asked, peering in her direction as he took a right turn out of the parking lot and made his way onto the freeway, toward South Maple Street.

“I suppose…it’s a well-off community.”

“Are you rich then?” His voice was curt as if accusing her of something.

“I mean my father is a lawyer, so we’re pretty well-off…” she responded, her voice a bit timid as she sensed a tone of hostility in his voice. She sunk herself deeper into the seat as she settled her eyes on the road, refusing to make eye contact with him. As time went on, the car was consumed by silence as they both sat there unmoving. Rita felt like she had somehow offended him.

“Anyway…why were you at the club last night?” Axel kept his eyes glued to the road even as he asked the question. Last night, he had been extremely attracted to this woman, but now as they sat in the car together, it felt like they were worlds apart. If she was rich, she would never want to be with a man like himself, who had nothing to his name except debt and problems. His fingers tightened on the wheel as he felt disappointment grow inside of him. It felt like it was crushing him, and as he awaited her response, it suddenly became hard to breathe.

“Oh, well…my friend Carolyn dragged me there.”

“Was that the small Asian girl you were with last night?” Axel’s words came out in an almost-croaking noise.

He shifted in his seat, trying to get his bearings. Rita glanced at him for a moment. She could see the anxiety written all over his face and wondered what was wrong. As she noted this, her heart tightened in her chest, making her feel sick. Had she done something to upset him? She couldn’t shake the feeling that she needed to apologize, but at the same time, she couldn’t find the words to address him. So instead, she simply focused on answering his question.

Her fingers gripped at her dress as she tried to remember what he had asked her in the first place. She bit the corner of her lip as the seconds ticked by and the awkwardness in the car started to grow, filling the air, until it almost became hard to breathe.

“Oh…right…Carolyn…she’s Korean-American. She’s been my friend since junior high. She drags me everywhere, whether I want to go or not,” Rita finally answered.

“I see…so you guys were planning to come to the club last night?”

“Actually…I was planning for a quiet night in. You see, I write poetry and last night I wanted to work, but then Carolyn showed up and I had no other choice.” Rita paused, wondering if Axel would butt-in with any comments, but he remained silent. In her anxiety, she continued to ramble on. “And I tried to tell her that I didn’t want to go, but she doesn’t really take no for an answer. Then even my dad butted in and tried to be funny by saying I had to be home by eleven.”

“Wait…does that mean you still have a curfew?” Axel’s gaze shot in her direction as he asked the question in disbelief.

“Of course not! I’m twenty-five!” She laughed, filling the car with the bubbly sound. Axel’s face remained static, however, as he continued to look at the road in complete seriousness.

Once she was done laughing, he spoke up. “So why did he make that comment then?”

“Well…because he’s just being a dad and dads make stupid comments like that. You know?”

Her face was painted in confusion. She didn’t really know what to make of his cold words. She felt a shiver run up her spine and in that moment, she cursed herself for not bringing a jacket.

“Actually, I don’t. I’ve never had a dad. He ran off when I was born.”

Axel’s words fell between them with a thud, taking Rita by surprise. She averted her eyes from the handsome man as her cheeks burned with a deep blush. She felt horrible for bringing up the topic and was lost for words as the heaviness of the situation settled around them, making the atmosphere tense.

By this point, Axel’s knuckles were white with the force of which he held the steering wheel, trying to contain the rage that was bubbling up inside of him. He didn’t want to think about his father, but the thought of this girl and her rich family made him cringe. For the remainder of the ride, they stayed quite.

Rita felt horrible for upsetting him, but as she sat there, she didn’t know what to do. Her mind brought back the images of last night. She remembered arriving at the club with Carolyn. As always, they were excited for a night of fun and drinking. As they were walking through the parking lot to get into the club, they had spotted a group of men, gathered around some cars with their hoods popped open. Rita had noticed them smoking, but she didn’t notice anything else. Instead, she had followed Carolyn into the club, where the blaring music invaded her ears and she had found herself in the middle of the dance floor.

Sometime later, she felt a hand on her shoulder and Axel had appeared. She had stared at him in complete disbelief. She had never seen someone so attractive before. It had taken her by complete surprise, and for a moment, she had gawked at him like a complete idiot. Despite it all, they danced together and even had a few drinks. By the end of the night, they had made their way back to his car.

It was then that Rita had realized that he was part of the group of men she had seen earlier. Even so, at the time she hadn’t bothered to ask about it. She had built herself into such a sexual high that all she wanted to do was have her hands and lips all over him. They had driven a short distance to an abandoned parking lot and it was just then when their wild time began.

Before Rita almost drove herself into a sexual frenzy once again, she stopped herself, blinking her eyes a few times for clarity. Her mind focused on the detail she had overlooked in her excitement.

“Hey…can I ask you something?” Her voice was almost timid as she broke the silence that had settled between them. She knew they were getting close to her house by this point, but still knew she had to at least try and satisfy her curiosity.

“I guess. What is it?” he finally answered with a huff of words, refusing to look over at her. He turned into her cul-de-sac and parked idly on the road, not knowing which house was hers. His eyes scanned the area, seeing luxurious homes all around him. All the houses were at least three floors high and had well-maintained lawns. A sense of envy washed over him before he forced himself to look away.

“Last night. What were you doing with all those men in the parking lot?”

“What do you mean?” he asked, finally turning toward her until their eyes met.

Rita looked up and got caught in his gaze, her heartbeat quickening at the contact. She felt herself lean in a little closer as if gravitating toward him by some unknown force. Her palms felt prickly with excitement as she tried to calm herself down. She didn’t know what it was about him, but he had this intense stare that could shoot electricity through her body. His proximity was enough to make her heart race. She had only just met the guy, but there was something about him that made Rita blush.

She curled her hands into fists on her lap. No. She had only just met this man. It was insane to think that she was already developing feelings for him. No. She was probably just nervous or something. After all, she was all alone in some stranger’s car. She took in a deep breath as she gathered her thoughts.

“Well, you guys were kind of just huddled around some cars with their hoods open, and smoking. What were you guys doing?” Her eyes were eager as she looked up, trying to get an answer out of him.

“Nothing.”

“What do you mean nothing?”

“We were just talking.”

His answer was harsh as he looked away from her, a hard look on his face as he watched the middle of the cul-de-sac. His attention, however, was grabbed by two small children, who came out of a yellow house and started to kick a soccer ball back and forth. Their giggles were carried by the wind until it made its way through the small crack in the open window. Axel quickly closed the window and tightened his grip on the steering wheel once more.

“Well, what were you smoking?” Rita pressed the question, her curiosity getting the best of her as she completely turned toward him.

“Nothing. Stop asking questions. I didn’t question everything you did, did I?” he snapped back at her.

An awkward tension grew between them as Rita recoiled back, feeling a little hurt by his words. Finally, she turned back in her seat, her hand resting on the door handle.

“Well…I’m sorry…I didn’t mean to pry.” She paused as her fingers curled around the handle. “Are you hungry? Would you like to step in and have some breakfast?” she asked, hoping he would agree.

“No.”

“Oh…” Her voice was crestfallen. She lingered in the car a moment longer before finally opening the door. She got out of the car, but her hand remained on the door. She slowly peered back into the car. “Are you sure you aren’t hungry?” she inquired one more time, trying to be hopeful. She didn’t want this man to step out of her life just yet. She wanted him to stay with her just a little while longer.

“Yes. Now will you please let go of my car? I need to go.”

Rita frowned before she closed the door and stood on the sidewalk as Axel peeled away, avoiding the children that were playing nearby. Rita nibbled at her lip as she sighed, wrapping her arms around her body in an attempt to comfort herself. Naturally, her hands fell into the pockets of her dress, where her fingers found the coolness of her phone.

She grabbed it slowly and brought it into the open.

“Shoot…I should have asked for his number or something. Now I’m never going to see him again…”

With this thought plaguing her mind, Rita slowly made her way back to her house, feeling a little disappointed by the whole experience. Axel had been the best one-night stand of her life and now he had slipped away from her forever. As she thought about it, the wind whipped around her, slowly caressing the bare flesh of her still-exposed pussy. With burning cheeks, she remembered what Axel had done to her panties, how his fingers had played across her clit, moments before she had gotten into the car. Sighing, she resigned herself to never seeing him again as she entered her beige-colored home.
