Axel: Desert Vultures MC (A Bad Boy MC Romance) by Sara Crest (33)

49

(Hannah)

I heard the slamming of a car door outside, was it Axel? Was he finally here?

“Axel is that you?” I called out at I ran outside of the garage.

“Hannah no wait!” Sharpe called out.

I burst through the front door of the garage and ran outside, only to see my worst nightmare standing right in front of me.

Donnelly stood only a few feet away from me, his hands were bloodied and bruised but that didn’t stop him from tightly gripping a pistol.

“Remember me sweetheart?” he said gripping the gun even tighter. “It doesn’t matter if you do by the way, I’m just here to fuck up your boyfriend’s life some more.”

Before I could respond Sharpe ran out of the garage, getting in between the two of us and shielding me from Donnelly.

“Just walk away buddy, I got business with the broad” Donnelly said as he raised his gun to aim at us and began unbuttoning the jacket of his police uniform.

I heard the sound of a motorcycle getting closer and closer, I looked behind Donnelly and suddenly I saw Axel on his bike sliding to a stop, leaving behind two deep black tire marks on the pavement.

He wasted no time in jumping off of his bike and pulling his gun out, ready to fire.

“Donnelly ” Axel said as he cocked his gun. “If you touch even a single hair on her head I’ll-”

“You’ll what!? End my life? Ruin my career maybe? I don’t give a shit you degenerate it’s all coming crashing down right this second! Part of me believes you had something to do with the feds being here. Am I wrong?”

Axel didn’t respond, I could see his eyes darting between me and Donnelly.

“You brought this on yourself Donnelly” I called out. “When you hurt all those people just to make yourself a little richer, every last one of you involved brought this on yourself!”

“Ohhh fuck off you stupid broad” he said. “The only thing you’re good for now is ruining this bastard’s life one I take yours.”

I watched Donnelly turn back to Axel as he kept his gun aimed right at me and Sharpe.

“You know I can kill her right? This gun is strong enough to shoot through your club brother there and get her.”

“Don’t you fucking dare” Axel said as he took a step closer.

I heard sirens in the distance getting closer and closer. The feds must be coming this way, Axel, Sharpe, and I had to get out of here now.

“Feds are here. That means time’s up” Donnelly announced as he steadied his aim. “You should have never fucked with us!”

As Donnelly began to pull his trigger Axel took his shot at him, it only hit Donnelly in his leg but it was just enough for him to lose his footing and miss me and Sharpe.

He dropped the gun and fell to the ground in pain as Axel ran over to finish him off.

As he lay on the ground in pain he reached for his gun again, grabbing it out of the dirt and trying to take another shot at me only for Axel to slam his foot down on his hand and prevent him from pulling the trigger.

I heard the sirens behind us as 3 California police cars pulled up, our time was up we had to leave!

“Axel just leave him for the real police we have to get out of here now!”

Axel didn’t respond, he stood over Donnelly pointing a gun straight to his head, ready to end him.

“Sharpe get out of here, I’ll take care of Axel” I said patting Sharpe on the back.

“Are you sure about this?”

“Yes! Now go!”

Sharpe sighed but listened to me, running over to where his bike was as the California police began coming out of their cars with their guns pointed at us.

He looked back at us one last time as he mounted his bike, I could see that he didn’t want to leave us behind but I mouthed “go” and waved him away until he finally started his bike and sped off before the California police could arrest him.

I saw Axel’s hands shake as he kept the gun pointed right at Donnelly as he pinned him on the ground with his feet.

“Drop the gun!” one of the cops yelled out as they all pulled their gun on him.

I ran up to Axel and grabbed him by his arm, I looked into his eyes and saw the same fire of revenge that burned in his eyes when he failed to kill Donnelly the last time.

“Do it already!” Donnelly called out as Axel cocked his gun. “Fucking end it!”

“Axel no don’t!” I pleaded as I tried to pull him off of Donnelly. “You shoot him and the cops will take you away forever!”

“Hannah, he killed my friend, he almost killed you. He hurt so many people, I can’t just let him walk out of here!”

“Yes you can! They’ll take him away Axel they have dirt on him he’ll rot in jail!”

“And what if he walks! What if they let him go?”

I grabbed his face and turned it towards me, kissing him deep as California police and federal officers kept their guns pointed straight at us.

“I know you want to avenge your friend, killing him might even make you feel better for now… but no matter what happens if you drop that gun and we run away now you’ll have me. We’ll have our whole lives to grow closer and closer and fall deeper in love. Is that not what we talked about? Is that not what you want? His life isn’t worth our future, you might not get your revenge but I can guarantee you there’s enough evidence to ruin his life. Don’t throw everything we worked so hard for down the drain Axel, please! I love you too much for that.”

I saw him grip the gun tighter, squeezing the trigger a little bit before slowly letting his grip become loose as his finger let go of the trigger.

I ran my hand down his arm until I reached the hand that held the gun. I ran my fingers along the barrel until I reached the end, gripping it tight in my hand and taking it from his now limp grasp.

“You’re right Hannah” he said as I tossed the gun aside. “He’s not worth it.”

He grabbed my arm and before the cops had a chance to react he lifted me up and carried me effortlessly as he sprinted towards his bike.

The feds cried out for us to stop as they surrounded and cuffed Donnelly as Axel put me on the back of his bike before hopping on himself.

He turned around and kissed me one more time before starting up the bike.

He hit the throttle and after burning rubber for a few seconds we both sped out of there, leaving Los Aves behind.
