Daddy's Favorite: A Dominant Protector Romance by Candice Nolan (6)

Chapter Six

Adelaide

A month later.

Deciding not to re-enroll at the university was easy. Packing up my belongings and saying goodbye to Kara is harder. She’s been a good friend, but she’s happy I’m moving home. And even happier I dove in head first with Sebastian.

My jeep is stuffed and I have a long six hour drive ahead of me. To pass the time I think back over all the firsts I’ve had with Sebastian. My first crush. The first man to seize me with a kiss. My first taste of cock, was his. First lips to tease my pussy, also his. He brought into my life a yearning to be controlled by the right man. A lust after his body and no one else’s. He tortures me to the edge and drives me mad with desire. I crave to give myself to no other man, but him.

And I have.

The first time I feel a man penetrate my walls is when he masterfully plunged his eager cock into the depths of my virginity. I throb remembering our first time, I clung to him, climaxing with passion. He begged me to continue, to watch me, to share a higher, stronger bliss, exploding, experiencing the rush of satisfaction together.

My heart beat wildly under his skillful touch. Days of ecstasy in his arms. I give my whole being to him. And only him. Forever and always, if he’ll have me.

“Let my first, be my one and only,” I plead aloud. “His love is all I need for the rest of my life.”

Hours with my hands on the steering wheel pass, a wave of relief settles my nerves as I drive into the city limits. The timing of my return is bitter sweet. Sebastian is away on business this weekend. Dad is at home recovering. I’ll have to wait to see the man I long to see, but the evening and morning are mine to share with my dad.

Dad hasn’t been the same since his surgery. He’s not been alone either. Sebastian’s made it his mission to watch over him these past few weeks. He truly is a godsend to us both.

Each block brings back a flood of childhood memories. Seeing my dad is the only thing on my mind. Finally the long drive is almost complete. When I pass my high school alma mater, home of the mighty pirates, I relax my shoulders. Two stop lights, one right turn, then a left turn, and I pull into an all too familiar driveway.

And dad is on the porch, swinging on the glider, waiting, and sipping coffee. It’s a scene I’ve seen many times when coming home. He looks the same, but different. So much has changed in a short amount of time. I’m in love. He’s struggled. Life has happened.

“Adelaide.” Dad hobbles up to stand tall and broad, but feebly leaning on the porch railing.

“Daddy.” I unfold myself from the car and melt into his arms. He looks worn out. Feels thinner than I remembered. “Did you miss me?”

“I’m glad you’re home.”

“Sit.” I nod to the glider. We sit and swing. All the things I want to confess to him about Sebastian goes out of my head the moment I hug him. In that moment, I’m his little girl again. I want to hold on to the feeling that nothing has changed. Pretend I’m innocent, he’s young, and mother’s still alive. “Win anything at the track lately?”

“Nope. Damn racing form ain’t worth nothing no more.” He fiddles with securing the lid on his to go coffee mug and takes a drink. “Had a good pick while I was in the hospital, but no one would go down and make the bet for me.”

He mentions his circumstances and I’m brought back to reality. “No one will help you?” I chuckle, dabbing at some coffee that’s dribbled on his shirt. “Will anyone buy you a new cup?”

“Damn, lid never stays on right.” He pats at spilt coffee. “Nope. I asked everyone. Nurses, custodians, even Sebastian wouldn’t go.”

Hearing dad speak his name causes my heart to race. My mouth dries up and I’m tempted to confess, but steer the conversation away from him. “You think this might be operator error?” I take the coffee cup and tighten the lid.

“Are you sassing me? Cause I can still turn you over my lap.”

“No you can’t.” We rock on the glider a few moments in silence. I soak in the afternoon breeze, content with life, forgetting to worry about dad or Sebastian. I lift my toes up, letting my feet glide in the air with the gentle swinging. Closing my eyes, I feel like a kid again. Until dad says.

“He’ll be back tomorrow you know.” The glider swings forward and back. Dad adds, “I’m sure he’ll come straight here.”

My time for pretending is over. “How do you know?” I keep my eyes straight ahead in case he’s not saying what I think he is.

Daddy gives my knee a gentle squeeze. “I know love when I see it. In his eyes, when I mention you. In his voice when you call. In your voice when I mention him. And I know my girl.” He pauses, tucking a strand of hair behind my ear. “Do you love him?”

“What if I do love him?” I tilt my toes down, stopping the glider cold. “He’s your age daddy. Your friend. Do you approve?”

He takes his hand off me and rubs his chin. “That’s a hard one.”

“Is it?” I push up to stand and face him. “Is it so hard to see me in love with Sebastian? So hard to see me happy?” I don’t want my dad to see me cry, so I turn and wipe away the tears forming. “I didn’t mean for this to happen. But I love him.”

Dad pushes to stand, but winces in pain. I reach out, grab his arm and help him to his feet. “You’re a young, vibrant woman. And stubborn just like your mother was. I just want you to make the right decision.” He coughs, grabbing his chest. I’ve strained him to much.

“You should rest. We can talk about this later.” I position his walker in front of him and move over to open the door. “I’ll fix you some lunch.”

Dad’s wrong about Sebastian and I. Why can’t he see that? We’re meant to be together. He’s my everything. I can’t choose between the two most important men in my life. I lay curled up on my childhood bed. In this room, I fantasized about my future husband. I dreamed for him and he came. He made me a woman on this bed.

“I love him,” I sob, passionately hoping dad will change his mind and embrace our affair.

Worn out, eyes reddened from crying, I decide to take a shower to wash off the long day. The guest bathroom looks the same as always. A monkey soap holder replaces my red boombox radio on the countertop, but that’s the biggest change in the room.

If home is where you know how the shower works, I’m at home. It doesn’t take long for me to be under the water, letting the warm sprays cascade down my back. There in the steady streams, I tune out all my cares. I lean back, relax, and forget my worries.

On the shelf, the same strawberry shampoo that’s always there. Dad keeps buying mom’s favorite brand. I inhale, taking a big whiff. Yep, smells like home. I lather the sweet smelling suds all over my body. The familiar scent will stay with me, reminding me, that family matters most. Clean and covered in memories, I rinse and dry off. The bathroom’s near the front of the house. I hear a knock followed by a greeting that I’d know anywhere.

“Come in this house,” Dad bellows, greeting the guest at the front door.

Must be his physical therapist. He mentioned one was coming by after lunch. I hurry to gather my clothes, so I can dress and say hello. Just as I pull my panties up my thighs, the bathroom door swings open.

Standing in the doorway with a big grin on his face and wielding his makeshift key, a butter knife, is Sebastian. I’m both ecstatic and shocked at seeing him there.

“Damn, look at you,” he groans, dragging his eyes up to my exposed chest. “Talk about perfect timing.” He steps forward to plant a wild passionate kiss on my lips.

It’s been a month since I’ve seen him in person. I’m still new to being held in his arms, but I feel like a missing jigsaw piece when he does pull me to him. Then I come to my senses and push him away. “I’m naked and my dad is home. What are you doing here?”

“I couldn’t be away from my girl. Not one more day.” He holds me tight, clinging to my side. “Besides, I came home early so we could tell him together.”

“He already knows.” Seeing him unexpectantly, delights me, but standing naked in his arms makes me nervous. I stretch to reach my top and even though Sebastian doesn’t let go, I shimmy it on over my head. “And I don’t think he approves.”

“That doesn’t sound like Phil. What makes you think that?” he argues. In an attempt to convince me everything’s going to be alright, he nibbles on my ear, sending a tickle up my spine. “Doesn’t he want to see you happy? I do.”

“It’s not that simple.” Suddenly, I understand my dad’s point of view. Sebastian is old enough to be my father. A wave of doubt shakes me to the core and I have to get some fresh air. What if this was all a mistake? “I can’t do this. Not here.” Dressed only in my panties and a shirt, I make my way through the house to the back patio. Thankfully, dad’s in the kitchen and doesn’t see me flash by, half naked.

“Adelaide, come back.” Sebastian chases after me, but is slowed.

I hear him speak to my dad, their exact words are jumbled by the distance and the screen door. Like a kid in trouble, I run to the hide around the side of the house as fast as I can. “Just go away,” I cry, my head knocked back against the brick. My fists pound down to my sides. “Both of you, just go away.”

“Never.” Sebastian steps around the side. He stands confidently, his arms crossed in front of his chest. “Do you really want that?”

He knows I’m lying. I can feel it in his stare. He knows I’ve longed to be only his since our first kiss. Even as a teenager, when I met dad’s friends, Sebastian was my favorite. I never forgot him. Never stopped thinking about him. He was and always has been my fantasy.

“No!” I yell. “I love you!”

“Addie,” he laughs. “Get the fuck over here.” He opens his arms and I’m drawn to fill them. I fold into him and fit perfectly. He wraps his strong hands around my waist and squeezes. “He approves.”

“What? But he?” My mind races. When did they talk? In the kitchen? While I was away? How much did they say? “Are you sure?”

“Your dad loves you.” He turns me and pins me to the wall. His stance wreaks of control over the situation. “We talked this over. I couldn’t hide my love for you from him. It boils down to, he doesn’t want to loose you and neither do I.”

His confession puts me at ease. I raise my chin up, begging for a kiss and he gives me one. It’s soft and gentle. I feel all warm and fuzzy. “Okay, let’s go back inside.”

“Just a second. Is this?” He bounces his eyebrows over to the window in the wall next to us. It’s my dad’s bedroom window. In one motion, he lifts my blouse and cups my tits with both hands.

I gasp, covering my mouth and stifling a scream. “Move your hands.”

“Make me.” He pinches my nipples, sending a wave of arousal through me. “Don’t you want to play outside your daddy’s window?”

“No, I don’t.” I slap his hands off and step away. “Be good.”

“We’ve already done it once outside.” He catches up, walking behind, step by step with me and swaying his hips with mine. “Wasn’t it fun?”

“Yes,” I giggle, shaking my rear against his pelvis. “The pool was too cold then and it’s too cold now.”

“Fine. Be that way.” He throws his hands up. “We should be good. In fact you should sleep here tonight.”

“What? We talked about this.” I turn in his arms and he licks the tip of my nose.

“Gotcha.” He slaps my ass. It really stings and reminds me that I’m not wearing any shorts.

“Dammit, Sebastian.” I rub the spot on my ass that’s writhing from his swat. “Can you just behave long enough for me to get dressed?”

“No, I can’t. I’ve waited to long to have every inch of you in my arms. Say the word, Addie. Say you’ll be my sex slave and I’ll tell your daddy I never touched you.”

“I’m no one’s slave.” I march into the house leaving him on the back porch. I lock the door behind me, knowing he’ll just walk around to the front. It’s the few extra minutes I need to retrieve a sundress and slip it on. When he walks through the front door, I meet him in the hall.

“Did you think it over?”

“Quiet.” I push open my dad’s bedroom door. “Daddy, can I come in?” I poke my head in. He’s in bed, asleep. “Daddy?” I sit down at the foot of the bed and shake his ankle.

“Addie.” He stirs. When he fully awakens, he only has eyes for Sebastian. “You’re a good man. I’m trusting you to take care of my most prized possession.”

“Thank you. I love you.” Overjoyed with his approval, I fling my arms around him, and give him the biggest hug a girl can give her daddy.

“It’s settled.” Sebastian offers his hand and I rise into his embrace.

I love them both to the ends of the world. In very different ways, but their love means more to me now that everything is out in the open.
