Chapter 6

Rob doesn’t allow me to rest after my mind-splintering, world-shifting orgasm. The damn man desires his own release.

“Stay with me a little longer, beautiful.” He licks his palms and runs them over his cock. His skin glistens with this makeshift lubricant. “Move your pretty pendant.”

I lift my body, slip his gift around my neck, until it hangs between my shoulder blades.

“Pinch your nipples.”

He’s being very bossy tonight. I don’t have the energy to protest. I pull on the taut peaks, extending them. They’re sensitive from the sucking he gave them, the color deepened from the pressure of his mouth.

“You’re gorgeous.” Rob slides his cock into the hollow between my breasts. “Squeeze them around me.”

I comply and he rocks, gliding his hard manflesh along my skin. He’s warm and rigid, undeniably male, taking command of our encounter.

My competitive nature won’t allow this, not without a challenge. I tighten my hold on my breasts, narrowing the gap between them, seeking to push his bliss higher and higher until he snaps.

“Fuck. You’re soft.” Rob’s lips flatten, his expression growing more strained. “Touching you is like dipping my cock into pure silk.”

“That’s because I’m the best.” I play with my breasts as he fucks them, increasing and decreasing the pressure, varying the sensation, intent on driving him crazy. “This will be the titty fuck of all titty fucks, Rob. You’ll never have better than this.”

“Never.” He quickens his pace, thrusting harder. His tip plays peek-a-boo between my curves. “You’ve ruined me. How can I look at another woman after seeing you?”

“I’ve saved you.” I round my back, increasing the connection of his hard shaft against my skin. “From a lifetime of fucking inferior breasts.” I bend my neck and lick his cock head as it appears, swiping my tongue over his flesh.

“Fuck.” He pulls back so quickly; he almost falls off me. “You have to warn me before you do something like that.”

“Oh.” I widen my eyes, feigning innocence. “You didn’t like it?”

“You know damn well that I liked it.” Rob resumes the sensuous glide of cock between breasts. “Too much. I almost came in your face.”

“And that’s a bad thing?” I’ve never once heard a man complain about that.

Rob gazes at me with mixture of desire and frustration. “You said you wanted me to come down your throat.” His balls tap against the underside of my breasts. “Was coming on your face an option?”

“It was, but you asked me to make the decision and I did.” I shrug, the action shaking my breasts.

He groans. “If you continue to do that, I’ll be overriding your decision.”

“Continue to do—what?” I gaze up at him. “This?” I jiggle my breasts. “Or this?” I lave his tip with my tongue.

“Fuck.” Rob thrusts his hips forward. Hard spurts of cum arc from his cock head, covering my lips, chin, neck, breasts. He drives between my breasts once, twice, three, four times, frothing his essence. His face twists in despair, and he falls forward, flattening me.

“Yep. My decision has been overridden.” I clutch him to me, enjoying the heaviness of his body. He’s solid, manly, mine. “Oh, well.” I stroke his back. “You’re an executive and that’s your prerogative.”

Rob’s shoulders shake. “You’re my equal and you’re driving me insane.”

“I’m no one’s equal. I’m the best,” I playfully boast, flattered that he sees me that way. “We’ve created another mess.” My chest is sticky with his cum.

“You’ll fix it.” He rolls onto his back, taking me with him. “You always do.”

“Bastard.” This word is loaded with emotion I can no longer hide. I care for Rob, more than I’ve cared for any other man. He has his secrets, but I trust him. I feel safe with him.

“Beautiful.” He kisses my forehead.

I lay my cheek on his skin, listen to the sound of his heartbeat, ride the rise and fall of his chest. Rob smoothes my hair, separating the tangled tendrils.

“Why did you consider leaving the company?” I break the silence. “I thought you respected Powers and enjoyed your role here.”

“I do.” He sighs. “But I wanted you more than I wanted my job, and the company had that damn non fraternization policy, forbidding me to touch you.”

I prop my chin on his chest, gaze up at him. “You were going to walk away from one of the top positions in the company, perhaps in the country, because you couldn’t bang me?”

I expect him to laugh, to tease me about being conceited, to tell me I interpreted his words wrong.

Instead Rob nods. “I was one brush of your fingers away from getting both of us fired. Your voice makes me hard. The way you fight me on everything strips my control. I dream of you every night, waking up horny as hell, my fingers curled around my cock.”

“You’re an idiot.” We’re both idiots because I want him with the same intensity. “There are other women in the world, women you’re not working with--”

“I tried. Believe me, I tried everything to dull my obsession with you.” He cups my cheeks. “But no woman is as witty, as ferocious, as beautiful as you are. You are the best, Kirsten.”

“I told you I was.” I give him a wobbly smile, his declaration touching my heart. “When were you planning to quit?”

“I timed it for the day after Mrs. Bellows retired, giving Powers a year’s notice. It could take that long to find a suitable replacement CFO.”

I frown. “She’s retiring in six months, not a year.”

Rob shrugs, his muscles undulating under me. “I tried to tender my resignation six months ago. Powers didn’t accept it. But I considered it done.”

I stare at him. “You quit? You were that sure of my feelings for you?”

“No, I was that sure of my feelings for you.” He rubs his thumbs over my cheeks. “Seeing you every day and not being able to touch you, to kiss you, to please you, was torture. I wouldn’t have been able to tolerate it for much longer.”

“That’s how much you care for me.” I pull on the chain around my neck, grasp the pendant he gave me.

His gaze drops to the stone, his eyes glittering with pride, with possession. “That’s how much.”

Does he love me? I don’t have the courage to ask. “I took this temporary position for you.” I’ve made sacrifices also.

“You told me you took the position to protect Margaret.”

I roll my eyes. “I’m clever and resourceful.” I quote him. “I would have found another way to protect her.”

“True.” Rob’s lips twitch.

“I’m giving up my dignity for you, discarding my professional pride.” I won’t have him laugh at me. “I was a project manager, in demand, valued. Now everyone will view me as your brainless sex toy.”

“No one would dare.” His eyes harden. “We are a team, as Grant and Powers are a team. They’ll respect you as they respect me.”

Employees do respect Trella, Powers’ assistant. They fear her almost as much as they fear the CEO.

I don’t like the idea of Rob having made a greater gesture of caring than I have. Even in this, I’m competitive. “I expect, eventually, if our relationship works, you’ll want me to give up my apartment too, trade my home for yours.”

“Our relationship will work.” His fingers curl around my shoulders, his grip on me intensifying. “And I don’t expect anything. You can live wherever you like as long as it is close to me.”

“What are you saying?” I narrow my eyes. “You don’t want me to live with you?”

“I want that desp—”

“You only want me to stay at your place when it’s convenient for you? Well, fuck you.” I wiggle. Rob won’t let me go. “It’s Sunday. I usually do laundry on Sundays. That makes going to your place tonight extremely inconvenient for me. I—”

“Tomorrow, I’m hiring people to move the entire contents of your apartment into the penthouse.” He pulls me tighter to him. “There’s a washing machine and a dryer there. You can do your laundry at our place.”

Our place. That sounds good.

“You don’t have time to hire anyone.” My anger deflates. “You haven’t officially hired me.” I eye Rob. “Are you expecting me to arrange the movers also?”

The bastard smiles.

I shake my head. “You’re getting the better part of this deal.”

“I am.”

His smugness lightens my heart. He wants me to move in with him, to share his life. He was willing to walk away from his job for me. “Do you have any other secrets?”

Rob’s gaze shifts to the left. “You need clothes for tomorrow. We’ll drop by your apartment, pick some up.”

We’ll pick up clothes for a few days, not simply for tomorrow, but that’s not what I wish to discuss right now. He’s avoiding my question. I peel my sticky breasts away from his chest and sit, my ass perched on his rock hard abs. “What don’t I know?”

“I can’t talk about it.”

“You won’t talk about it,” I correct. “You can talk about anything with me. You know that.” I stand, fed up with his bullshit.

Rob watches me gather my clothes. “I trust you with all of my secrets, Kirsten.”

He trusts me with all of his secrets. This secret isn’t his. “Will this affect you and me, alter our relationship in any way, hurt me?” The last part is whispered.

“No.” He leaps to his feet. “I would never hurt you.” He draws me against his warm naked body. “Never. If I thought this would harm you in any way, I’d tell you.”

I lean against him, think about his words. “But this will alter our relationship.”

Rob tilts his head to the left and to the right, as though debating with himself. “It could change our relationship, in a minor way,” he finally says. “It’s a situation I’m handling…with your help.”

A situation—the assistant situation? “It’s now under control?” I probe.

“Yeah.”

He doesn’t have a hidden wife or a child. And this isn’t one of the dozen or more other heartbreaking possibilities I’ve imagined either. It’s a work issue and I excel at managing those. “Okay.”

“Okay?” Rob gazes at me warily. “You aren’t pushing for more details?”

“You won’t give them to me.” There’s no point. I suspect this concerns confidentiality and my honorable executives takes that seriously. “I’ll figure this secret out.”

“You will.” His eyes glow with admiration. “By the end of tomorrow, I suspect you’ll know everything.”

“I’ll know by noon.” I lift my chin, accepting the challenge.

Rob laughs, his joy warming my soul.
