Zia

Zia… Dragofin Lair, Greg’s Nest

“Yes, that feels so… ooh.” Zia didn’t care how wanton and throaty her voice had become.

This was the perfect way to end a particularly trying day. Greg had ushered her down here for a quick “nap” before the evening meal and movies up in the meeting room. That would be that damn five-story flight of stairs meeting room, but she wouldn’t complain.

Since some of the other guys were awake, they thought it would be cool to spend some time with the newest mated couple. The twins were going all in with a gaming tourney and then movies and this infamous snacks tradition of the mates.

Zia was all for it.

Her parents were safe, and her true mother sounded like the self-assured woman Zia knew and not the high-pressure guilt machine who had tried to dupe her into a trap.

“Zia, bring your mind back. Your parents are fine.”

“I know, but I still feel like they aren’t safe until we stop whoever is behind all this subterfuge.”

“Do you want to call them back now?”

With her parents being an hour behind in a different time zone and night owls, she’d have plenty of time to phone them afterward. Quinn had made the right strategic call for them to come back home.

“No, I can call them after the movie night.”

“Are you sure?”

“Yes, they’re all the way in south Texas. Whoever this is, seems to like the action here in Atlanta.”

Greg looked up to eye her intently. “You know we can get there to them in seconds if needed.”

Zia snapped to attention and propped herself up on her elbows. “How?”

“Downstairs is one of our portal entries. If needed we can portal jump to places on the surface of the earth in seconds.”

“Then why do you drive around?”

“Because to pop up places unannounced would scare the natives. Plus, any use of that means of transportation has strict usage guidelines.”

“Which are?”

“Threat of death, mass surface destruction, war, human transport to safety—we sort of used this one too much back in the day. That’s another reason why people think we’re angels.”

“Why, do to the portal jumping transportation service?”

“Yes, but I want you to know that if you ever need to get to your family in an emergency, that option exists.”

“Thank you. Something tells me that if you were ever to use it, there would be a lot to answer for with your higher-ups.”

“You’d be right, but nothing would stop me from helping my mate and family.”

Zia looked at her mate and reveled in how he considered her parents part of his family. She reached down to pull him up. He obliged, crawling up her length with smooth grace.

He landed a kiss that was light but packed with hunger as his lips danced across hers. Greg used his masterful hands to knead and massage one of her breasts until her nipple ached to be sucked.

“You like it when I do that, don’t you.” Greg’s baritone hummed against her mouth as he kissed her.

“Yessss…”

“Good.”

She moaned when his hand roamed down to find the soft puff of curls that covered her sex. When he found her pearl and began to stimulate it with a light circular touch, Zia arched into him and shuddered.

“Inside of me, please,” she whispered into his ear.

Zia held her breath as her mate lifted and spread her right leg and sunk deep into her slick channel. She took a moment to savor the feel of how his thick member filled her with a snug pleasure.

Their lovemaking was a perfect execution of two whole beings connected in share pursuit of love. Zia soon found their primal rhythm as Greg surged in deep to claim her body to the core.

Each thrust of his powerful hips found their response in her body as she pushed up to grant him deeper access. Over and over they rocked in and out of each other in an erotic exploration.

Zia loved how Greg took his time and paced their lovemaking to encourage mutual and individual exploration. With her mate, Zia released hang-ups she’d had in the past about her body and role in the sexual encounter.

They interchanged in dominant and submissive roles as each placed trust in their sacred union and love pact. Zia mounted Greg and began to gyrate in a slow, languid grind. He clasped her ample hips, securing her as Zia leaned and threw her head back to experience and touch the bliss that played with them through their sexual union.

As the pleasure sensors of their bodies reacted to and played off each other, Zia found their tempo increasing as their thrusts and love sounds grew more energetic.

Together they climbed the heights of ecstasy to reach for the clouds of orgasmic promise. Zia craved her mate more with each thrust, kiss, suck, and shudder of aroused pleasure. Greg was her alchemist. He pushed the most mundane aspects of her to the extreme until she became excited to be alive again.

She crested the summit of orgasm as an overwhelm of sensual inputs slid through her body. Greg continued to climb to bliss taking her with him as she felt the second wave of pleasure drench her sense stimuli.

Zia clung to her mate as their bodies rode the ecstasy roller coaster. Explosions of a momentous sexual awakening gathered her into its bosom. When the climax swelled to a breaking point, a scream of primal pleasure ripped through her body.

She collapsed on top of Greg, spent, exhausted and satisfied.

They lay together as the aftermath of mated bliss lulled them into slumber.

Zia woke to Greg shaking her.

“Zia, wake up, we need to go. Something’s wrong with Miss Connie.”

“What? Where is she?”

“The Triplets are with her over at The Diner in the back. They say they went over to check on your blood work and found her passed out on the floor.”

Zia jumped up looking for clothes. She dressed as Greg let Lucien know they’d be up to the first floor in a few minutes.

They all made it over to The Diner in time to see Miss Connie coming around.

“Why are y’all making all this fuss? I just need to get some more Gaiata. I used it all up, and this time the shipment has been delayed. I’ll be fine. I’m not going anywhere anytime soon. Please, go back to your movie night.”

“Why don’t you come over and join us?”

“And climb those stairs? Not tonight. I’ll do that when I’ve replenished my gaiata stash.”

“You’ll get no argument from me on that one,” Zia said.

Mina spoke up, “Looks like Miss Connie is right, her vitals are stable.” She looked at her sisters, and they all nodded, “We’re going to hang out here with her and see about getting her gaiata shipment sped up.”

“You don’t have access or the ability to do that.” Miss Connie’s voice still wasn’t as strong as Zia would have liked, but it was improving.

“We don’t need to. You can do the DNA verification, and we’ll help with the grunt work of clearing portal customs.”

“You don’t have to do that. I can get my assistant to go down to the receiving area once my supply comes in.”

“You need gaiata now. We’re going to make sure we track some down and get it to you tonight.” To the assembled Dragofin group, Mina said, “You all, go, have fun tonight. We’ve got this. I promise, if anything else happens, we’ll let you know.”

Lucien continued to look at the frail Miss Connie. Zia could see how much he loved and relied on the woman by the way he regarded her current state.

“Miss Connie, if you ever get down this low again on gaiata, I will personally bring you before the Healer’s Council.” He was firm in his words while his face showed the flush of someone worried about a loved one.

“You wouldn’t. That’s overkill.”

“No, it’s not. You put yourself and us at risk by depleting your allotment of gaiata. I know you wanted to heal Greg and Boogie, but you didn’t need to put yourself in jeopardy in the process. We love and need you, and we want you to be around for a very long time. You’re family. Please allow your family to help you.”

The room was silent as everyone processed Lucien’s words. Zia hadn’t known the woman for long, but already she’d become a mother-figure to her. Without Miss Connie, Zia wouldn’t have her mate or new family.

She inched closer to the bed where the Triplets had bullied Miss Connie into lying on. When Zia was close, Miss Connie reached a hand out to her. Zia took the offered hand as the older woman pulled her in.

Close to her ear and low enough to be private Miss Connie said, “Call your mother. Make it your top priority to make peace with her. She holds the key to your freedom. Will you do that for me, please?”

Zia looked at the woman who had shown her love, support, and wisdom. This was the second time Miss Connie had made the request. The solemnity of the moment didn’t go unnoticed or unheeded. As soon as possible, Zia would make that call.

“Yes, ma’am, as soon as I get back home, I’ll make time to call her.” Zia gave the woman’s hand a light squeeze. “Thank you for caring enough about me to help me see what I’ve been blind to.”

“That your mother loves you and has done what she could to make sure you have the best life possible?”

“Uh, well, I was thinking more of honoring her more, but that works too.”

“Good,” Miss Connie’s voice rose to its normal level. “Help me sit up.” Zia did, and Miss Connie sat on the edge of the bed with her legs dangling a good distance from the floor. Zia realized how tiny the woman was in that instant. Miss Connie commanded the attention of the room as she said, “I did manage to isolate the foreign material in Zia’s blood before my body decided to take a forced nap.”

“And?” Hildy said, with an impatience that surprised no one.

“And, little Miss Fast Ass,” Miss Connie said, referring to Hildy, “yes, there are nanobots present. They aren’t carrier bots as much as they are providing simple tracking and signal production.”

“Are they dangerous?” Greg wanted to know.

“As best I can tell, and from my knowledge of mirror-world compatible tech, these are rudimentary at best. Imagine a shell with the potential and ability to morph and grow. That’s what this class of bot appears to be. Based on their movement, it’s as if they are awaiting more programming before completing their tasks. But, to answer your question, they appear to be harmless. Since they are ferrous nanoparticles made for the human body, they wouldn’t cause any known reactions or rejections. These are the nanobots that can be coded to become fibers and muscle. They’re currently being used to create new internal organs and perform medical procedures in earth medicine. I must say that can’t be completely certain based on the source of these.”

Zia shivered at the idea of little robots inside of her. “How do I get them out?”

Miss Connie gave her a warm look and smiled. “You see that machine over there?”

Zia nodded but couldn’t stop the slight trembling that had started in her hands.

“That machine is light years ahead of this nanotech. Since the shell of the bots is that ferrous material I mentioned, they are built with a failsafe.” Miss Connie raised her hand and gave Hildy a look to stay silent. “If you’ll let me finish, I’ll make it plain. What that means is that we can disable the nanobots with a magnetic field. I’ll program it to provide a low-level MRI and EMP (Electromagnetic Pulse) that is safe for you and the baby. You’ll step into that machine, we give you the treatment, and the bots are inhibited. With a solution I’ll give you that has nano level particles of coal and magnets that you’ll ingest, the bots will be expelled from your body through the normal excretion process over the next twenty-four to forty-eight hours.”

Greg came to stand next to her. “See, my love, it’s going to be all right. Miss Connie has the solution already mapped out.”

Zia put her head on his chest for strength.

Miss Connie looked to the Triplets. “They can help me get it set up, and you could be on your way to nanobot freedom within the hour. Are you game?”

“Greg?” Zia asked before taking a moment to think.

“This is your body. I believe Miss Connie. The baby will be fine. He’s already shown how much of a fighter he is. This is up to you. I don’t want you to suffer. Whatever you choose, I’m here with you.”

There it was. Zia had to make the decision. A brief pause to search her gut or any other body wisdom and Zia had her answer.

“There’s no way I’m allowing foreign crap to stay in me another minute.” She locked eyes on the Triplets and then Miss Connie. “Let’s do this.”
