Hades' Flame (Devils Rejects MC Book 1) by Glenna Maynard (19)

Danny

When I get to the warehouse I can overhear Boogeyman arguing with one of the girls.

“Listen, Shelly, you can’t flash those perky little titties at me and think it will make me let you go. If I want easy pussy I can get it any day of the week.”

“My name isn’t Shelly. It’s Michelle. And you can’t blame me for trying. I-I swear I won’t tell. Just let me go.”

“You know what I think. I think you’re a spoiled little princess who always gets her way. I ought to fuck that uppity attitude right out of you. What you need is a man to spank that pretty little princess pussy of yours but, sweetheart, it won’t be me.”

“B. Stop engaging with her and what the fuck. You let her see your face. Are you dumb or what?”

He shrugs. “Was just having fun. She does have some nice titties though.” He smirks and takes a bite out of his apple.

Fucking idiot. I swear.

“Where’s Cupid? We need to knock them out again and get on the road.”

“I think he went to take a shit and the hogs ate him.” He chuckles.

Terror and Uno come dragging in with travel mugs of coffee with Reaper not far behind.

“Man, you know how Amber is. I can’t control her. Bitch is fucking nuts.”

“Well, fuck. You need to do something, man. Stephanie isn’t putting out. Says she doesn’t feel in the mood. Because your old lady turned Sara against her.”

“For fuck sake. Want my advice?” Uno shakes his head. “Well too fucking bad. Get a divorce. Everyone fucking hates that cunt wife of yours. I wouldn’t fuck her with Boogeyman’s dick and he’s fucked everything around for miles. Marriage is for pussies. You won’t ever catch me tied down to one bitch,” Reaper claims. I just think he hasn’t met his match.

“If you bitches are done gossiping about your periods, I’d like to get this shit done.”

Cupid shows his face just when we are done loading the van.

“How nice of you to join us, pretty boy,” I tell him.

It takes us five hours to get to the drop point to meet with Tiny.

I can’t wait to get home and sleep for a few damn days. I love the guys, I do, but after being cooped up with them so damn much in the past twenty-four hours I need a damn break. Fuckers bicker more than women. Fucking giving me a Goddamned headache.

Cupid backs the van into the air hangar where Tiny has a plane ready to take the girls.

Where are they off to? I have no fucking clue and it is better that I don’t. I already feel lousy enough that three girls lost their lives in the fire and not to mention who know what kind of sick fucks Tiny will sell them too. That’s the problem with having a heart again. I care too damn much. I can’t become invested in their welfare. They are a means to an end. A payment for a debt.

That’s it.

Tiny and his armed goons are waiting by the plane.

We each exit the van and Boogeyman goes to get the girls out.

Reaper and Terror gagged and bound them instead of knocking them out like I initially wanted. I thought it would be easier if I didn’t have to look them in the eyes when I hand them over, but perhaps it is better this way. They could all be Sara and I never want to see the look in her eyes that they all share. Despair. I have seen her with that look once and it nearly killed me. I will die before she ever feels that way again.

Tiny steps forward and examines each girl.

“Seems you found some high-quality girls. Excellent choice on your part. They will bring in a nice bonus. There’s just one problem.”

“Yeah, what’s that.”

“I can only take five of them. Not enough seats on the plane.”

I roll my eyes as his men start loading the girls and cases of moonshine on the plane.

“That’s not my problem. I got you what you wanted. We’re done here.”

“Hades, don’t forget yourself. I can have my men drop them off at a hospital where they can tell authorities all about your club and your operation or you can take them and do with them as you wish. Your choice.” He gives me a salute and boards the plane.

Cocksucker.

I turn around and look at the three girls he left me stuck with. What the fuck am I supposed to do with three girls who have now seen our faces and knows the name of my damn club.

Fuck. I run a hand over the back of my head.

“I have an idea,” Boogeyman speaks up.

“Yeah, what’s that?”

“We need some fresh pussy at the clubhouse and Princess here loves to show off her tits.” He grins and winks at the dark-haired chick he was mouthing at earlier. If I didn’t know any better, I’d think he likes her. Boogeyman doesn’t like anyone. Interesting but also not my problem.

“We can’t do that, and you know it.”

He shrugs. “Why not?”

“I can give you a thousand reasons why not!” I snap. “Just put them in the van so I can think.”

Goddamn.

Fuck.

I’d love to kill Tiny Leone.

Sara

Every last box is unpacked and all mine and CT’s stuff is put away.

The prospects left an hour ago and Amber went home to shower. She is swinging back by to take me to the clubhouse since Zo Zo never brought me my car. I don’t want to bother Danny with it when he is on a run.

I called Morgan to find out when to expect Cole and she said around noon. I am counting the minutes until I get to hold my boy again.

With the house clean and nothing to do, I turn on the TV and channel surf until my flat iron heats up. I want to look good for my man tonight when he returns.

I want to be the first and only thing my husband sees when he comes through those doors.

I end up watching more news coverage from that fire from earlier. They are showing pictures of the missing girls. Eight in total. They all seem to be my age or a few years older. It’s depressing. I shut the TV off and go get ready for tonight.

As I am in the middle of straightening my hair, Amber returns.

“I brought goodies,” she announces as she comes through the door with a rolling suitcase.

“What the hell did you pack?”

“Makeup.” She grins with a twinkle in her eye.

“You weren’t kidding when you said you love makeup.” I shake my head. “I gotta finish my hair first.”

After letting Amber have her way with my face I wish I would have had her to glam me up for my wedding. When we get to the clubhouse there is a party going on, but I don’t see any members from that club Danny mentioned earlier.

MaryAnn is canoodling with Zo Zo in a corner. Guess that explains why he never made it to drop off my car.

Danny didn’t want me to drink tonight but one can’t hurt.

I can’t just sit here on my ass and not have a little bit of fun.

Maybe one drink sucked fast through a straw made by one of the prospects was a bad idea. I am pretty sure he made it stronger to get me back for all the grunt work from the past two days.

Stephanie and her followers come in and have a drink at one point but then I see her get a text message and they leave soon after.

Amber gets a message not long after and tells me she has to go as well then rushes off.

What the hell?

I go to check my cell phone to see if I have anything from Danny, but I must have left it at home plugged into the charger.

This blows.

I don’t have anyone to talk to and I don’t have my car, so I can go home. All the guys here are either too damn drunk or too much of a stranger for me to ask for a ride.

I would ask MaryAnn, but she went upstairs forever ago.

Right when I am about to give up and call for a cab Danny walks in, followed by three girls. Three girls that I saw on the news only a few hours ago.

“What are you still doing here, Sara? Didn’t you get my messages to get your ass home?” His tone is pissed off and aggravated.

“I don’t have my phone on me and Zo Zo is too busy fucking MaryAnn to get me my car.” A strange look crosses over Cupid’s face when I mention MaryAnn, but now isn’t the time to think about that. I’ll file that information away for later. “What are they doing here?”

I point to the girls who are now sitting at a table with Boogeyman and Reaper.

“Long story.” He walks behind the bar and gets a bottle of beer.

“We can talk in my office.”

“Fine.” I follow him down the hall and he shuts the door behind us once we are in his private office.

Danny sinks down in his large leather chair and I take the seat across from his desk.

“Don’t ever disrespect me in front of my men like that again, Sara. You can run your mouth all you want at home, but never here. It makes me look weak. If it appears I can’t control my bitch, then they won’t think I am fit to run this club.” He uses the corner of his desk to pop the bottlecap off his beer and chugs.

“I’m sorry, Danny. But. You. Lied. To. Me.”

He lets out a belch then sighs. “I didn’t lie, Sara. I just didn’t tell you. There is a difference.”

“No, an omission of truth is the same as lie. I point blank asked you if there was something wrong or if I should be worried. You said nothing was wrong.”

“And I told you no. The only things you need to worry about is being a mom to CT and sucking my dick.”

His harsh words are like a slap to my face. I don’t like this side of Danny. Though I guess right now I’m not dealing with my husband. I am talking to Hades.

“By the looks of those girls out there I have plenty to be worried about, Hades.” I throw his club name at him like an insult. “What did you do? Did you set that fire?”

“This is club business and doesn’t concern you.”

“Everything you do concerns me, Danny. Every-fuckin-thing. You’re my husband.”

“That’s right, Sara, your husband. I don’t answer to you. You see this tattoo on your chest.” He gets up and stalks toward me and grabs the collar of my shirt and rips it down the front. “What’s it say, huh? What does it fucking say?” He pokes his finger into my skin hard enough to leave a bruise. “Hades’ Flame!” He roars in my face like he is possessed. “You answer to me not the other way around. If you don’t like it, then you can catch your ass a ride back to Drag Creek tomorrow with your brother.”
