Lucifer's Hounds: Lucifer's Hounds MC Book1 by Erika Blount (1)

ONE

Lilly Summers tapped her foot anxiously as she watched the clock move slowly toward six. Like clockwork, Mindy walked in fifteen minutes before shift. Her light brown curls bounced down the middle of her back with each stride as she walked through the bar with confidence.

She disappeared into the back but not before kissing Lilly’s cheek in passing. Lilly called her last call before shift change to the two customers who sat at the bar. They were older, the man and woman, and they reeked. Sitting at the end of the bar, directly in front of the window unit, the smell of body odor had been blowing into her since they arrived.

The first few times they had been in the bar, Lilly found herself nonchalantly attempting to smell her own armpits, thinking that maybe she had forgotten to apply deodorant.

After the second time, Lilly caught on and realized it wasn’t her. It was John and Melinda, a couple who had been married for about twenty years. They were what Lilly and Mindy would call “semi-regulars” because they only came in sometimes, and for that she was thankful.

“Lilly! Shift’s over. Clock out and go home, woman,” Mindy yelled from down the bar.

“I’m finishing paperwork now. Don’t fuss me. Besides, I’m leaving town when I get out of here,” Lilly said, sticking her tongue out at her friend.

Mindy’s eyebrows went up. “Is that so? Where to this time, my little drifter?”

She couldn’t help but laugh. “Why must I be a drifter? Why can’t I just be spontaneous?”

“Because you’re a drifter, Lilly.”

Lilly’s eyes met hers, and she saw a look in them that said she understood her. She knew Lilly better than almost anyone. “I’m going to Houston for a few days. I need a break from this place.”

“Houston sounds wonderful. Let me know when you get there.”

“Of course, ma’am.”

Lilly closed the day-shift binder and put it in the safe along with her bank bag. Creek’s Sports Bar was a tiny bar room in the small town of Port Vincent, Louisiana, on a side road. Although it was a hole in the wall, she loved it there. She got a moderate amount of time off, and her gypsy soul needed that.

She kissed Mindy on the cheek before heading to the car. Lilly’s three days off would be spent in Houston with a camera by day and a drink in her hand by sundown. She had always been a random road trip kind of girl, and she didn’t think that would ever change. There was something about the complete and utter freedom of a long drive and music, tuning out everything else in the world.

Lilly whipped into the driveway of her small, but cozy, home. She went straight to her closet, rummaging for clothes. Throwing in a week’s supply, she zipped her duffel bag up and tossed it into the passenger seat.

She took off for Houston, more excited for the drive itself than the actual trip. It was only a five-hour drive from her hometown, and she’d been looking forward to this trip for weeks now.

With Sammy Kershaw Pandora blasting through her speakers, she drove down Interstate 10.

She didn’t think she would ever get over the Atchafalaya Basin. That had to be the longest bridge ever. The sun began setting in the distance, and Lilly couldn’t drag her eyes from the way the sunlight made beautiful colors of purple and orange across the horizon. The water beneath the bridge was calm and looked like glass with the sun beating down on it. Moss hung from the trees, and a flock of birds flew overhead, catching Lilly’s eye. She thought it would be nice to be a bird, to fly wherever you wanted, whenever you wanted, but the more she thought about the technicalities, she realized that maybe that wasn’t for her. Heights were not her strong suit.

She drove the rest of the way without paying attention to much, simply listening to the music play and thinking of all the things she wanted to do in Houston. It was midnight by the time she arrived at the hotel to check in.

“Reservation for Lilly Summers,” she said to the front desk clerk, who nodded as she typed into the computer.

“Here you are, Miss Summers. You’re in room 6212. Building Six is around the back.” The clerk smiled as she handed her the key to her room.

“Thank you.”

“Enjoy your stay with us at The Hampton Inn.”

Lilly smiled at the blonde behind the counter as she walked back to her car, again thinking about her plans. This week, I will make it a point to do absolutely nothing for anyone else, and absolutely everything for me. It’s been too long since I’ve had a camera in my hand, and I am dying to take pictures at the Project Row Houses.

Lilly laid her things out on the second bed in the room. All the hotel had available was a double-bed suite. She searched her phone for local pool halls. She needed a drink and a game of pool to relax her mind.

Shit. I forgot to text Mindy. Lilly opened her text messages and sent a one-word text to Mindy.

“Drifted”

Finding a bar that caught her attention, she got in her car and followed her GPS to Skeeter’s Billiards. It was in a shopping center not far from her hotel and didn’t look too busy. Parking in the front of the building, she killed the car.

She was greeted by a curvy redhead behind the bar with average tits pushed up so hard, they looked two cup sizes bigger. She had a nametag that stated her name was Lacey. She was in a green tank top that stopped just above her waist, and a pair of black, dressy shorts met it there. Her hair was shoulder length.

“What can I getcha, babe?” Lacey asked.

“I’ll take a double-Crown and Sprite, please,” Lilly said, smiling back at her.

As Lacey walked over to fix Lilly’s drink, movement caught her attention in her peripheral. Next to her sat a man in probably his mid-thirties, wearing a ball cap turned backward with the letters LHMC embroidered into the bottom of it. He wore a leather vest with patches on the front and back, a black Harley Davidson T-shirt, and blue jeans. He couldn’t have been any taller than five foot ten. His arms were likely the size of Lilly’s head, with a half-sleeve on both arms, and he had the most beautiful gray-green eyes with the slightest tinge of purple around his irises.

“Double Crown? I never would have pegged you for a whiskey girl.”

“I’m sorry?” she asked, realizing she hadn’t understood him when he spoke. She was too busy sizing him up. “Oh. Yeah, I’m not your typical girl, though. And I know they all say that, but y’all can keep that fruity shit. I like my Crown,” she said as his words registered in her mind.

Lacey returned with her drink. “It’s six fifty.”

“Here you go. Can I get five in quarters too, please?” Lilly said, handing her a twenty.

“Yes ma’am.”

Lilly took the quarters from her. “You can keep the rest. Thank you.”

Lacey smiled and thanked her before getting another customer’s drink down the bar.

“Quarters?” the man sitting next to her asked. “Plan on shooting pool?”

“Yes, actually. I do. Know anyone around here who would be interested in shooting a few games?” Lilly smiled, trying not to look at him too long. He was gorgeous.

“I might give it a shot. But you’ve got to take it easy on me. It took me three weeks before anyone told me I was shooting with the wrong end of the stick.”

Lilly burst out laughing. “Oh, that’s good.”

He stuck his hand out for her to shake. “Cass. And, you are?”

Taking his hand, she replied, “Lilly Summers. Nice to meet you.”

“You too,” he said, standing up and walking toward an open pool table.

“This table is the best one to play on, or at least that’s the conclusion I came to yesterday.”

“Yesterday?”

“Yeah, I just got in town yesterday, and this place was closest to my hotel.”

Lilly put the quarters in the table and dropped the balls. While she walked over to rack, she looked up at him. “Where are you originally from, then?”

“Gonzales, Louisiana.”

“No way. I’m from Livingston.”

He chuckled. “Where everyone dates their cousin, and they have family wreaths instead of family trees?”

She slapped him on his arm playfully. “Hey now! That is not the case for everyone in that town.”

Laughing, Cass said, “You shouldn’t go around telling people you’re from there.”

Replacing the rack, Lilly stepped away from the table. “Break ’em up.”

Cass broke and started shooting out the solids on the table. Lilly stood, mesmerized by the look of determination etched on his face while he focused on making every shot. His eyes were hooded and unreadable as he played the table.

“So, Cass. Are you one of those guys that walks around dressed as a biker, but isn’t really a biker?” Lilly asked. She was unsure of what made her ask, but now that she had, she was eager to hear his answer.

“Define really a biker,” he said with a hint of sarcasm.

“You know, a biker, like one of those biker gang guys they show on TV that wears vests like yours.” Lilly rubbed her hands together, a nervous habit she’d had since she was a child. Everything seemed to line up so well in her head, yet when she attempted to explain something with actual words, it was like pulling teeth.

Cass’s sudden burst of laughter caused Lilly to jump. “You watch too much TV. First, they aren’t gangs. They’re clubs. Motorcycle Clubs, to be exact. Second, I feel like I’m really a biker as the president of a said Motorcycle Club. I have my own bike and everything. Third, you call it a vest, but it’s a cut.”

Lilly gave a short laugh. “I didn’t mean any offense. I’m curious, though. I’ve never met a biker before, at least not any that I remember, and I’m intrigued. Do I bow since you’re the president of a club?”

“No,” he chuckled. “It doesn’t work like that. I’m just a man.” Cass walked around the pool table. He stood next to a small table off to the right. “Stripes to you, Miss Summers.” His hands rested on the stick that balanced between them as he watched Lilly. She could feel his eyes on her with each move she made.

“I bet there’s way more to you than you lead on,” Lilly said.

“I’m not much of a gambler,” he said with a wicked smile.

Lilly stepped up to shoot, taking one shot at a time carefully. She wasn’t the best pool shooter, but she was decent. Shooting out five of her seven balls, she looked at Cass to gauge his reaction as the cue ball spiraled into the corner pocket. His face gave away nothing.

“There it is,” she said.

“There what is?”

“The game. You got that, all day long,” she said, pointing to his last shot and then the shot he would have on the eight ball.

“I don’t know about all that. I mean, I’m only a badass biker who runs in a gang and probably beats up little old ladies,” he joked.

“Hey, I never said anything about beating up people, especially not little old ladies.”

“You insinuated. It’s fine. Just fine,” he said, dragging out his words in a higher pitched voice. His sense of humor and light, playful banter was reeling her in every time he spoke.

Cass flashed a smile at her that stirred butterflies right down to her core. Leaning over the table to shoot, he looked up at her with a dark and heated look that made Lilly feel naked in front of him already.

Cass kept eye contact with her as he shot his ball, sinking it into the desired pocket. Glancing back at the table, he lined up his shot and stared back at Lilly. His eyes never left hers as he knocked the eight ball directly into the corner pocket.

The only legible thought she could focus on was what his intentions were and whether they consisted of getting her naked. I wish. He checked the table to assure his shot went and smiled a playful smile.

“Good game, Miss Summers.”

“Good game, darlin’.”

“Since you stereotyped me, it’s my turn. I’d say you’re a school teacher, and your parents probably bought your first house and car for you after they put you through school.”

Lilly slammed both of her hands in the center of her chest and gasped dramatically. “Why me? What gave you that impression?”

“You carry yourself well. Sexy, yet professional. Your eyes light up when you talk as if they’re saying they have no worries, nothing at all to bother them.”

“You’re one for four. My dad bought a Mustang as a project car for him to work on, and he gave it to me. Sounds like we both suck at stereotyping.” Lilly took a swig of her drink before pulling a cigarette from her pack and lighting it.

Downing the last few sips of his beer, Cass looked at her. His face almost seemed sorrowful. “Well, it’s been a pleasure, but unfortunately I have to be at Reliance Stadium tomorrow and give the same pitch every time someone walks by only for them to not be interested and walk away.”

She smiled, many thoughts of what she wanted from him swimming in her mind. She wanted to be alone with him, but she wasn’t sure if she should come across as the kind of girl who would fuck on the first night. That wasn’t attractive, was it? But, just like those people would do to him tomorrow, he walked away. She took the same seat she had taken before and ordered one more Crown and Sprite. Cass handed something to the bartender and left.

“I really thought he was interested. Guess not,” she mumbled, putting out her cigarette.

Lacey placed a napkin on the bar in front of Lilly. “This is from the gentleman that just left. The biker with the big arms,” she said, making an awkward motion around her own arms.

Picking up the napkin, she noticed writing on it. “You are so sexy. Can I have the rest of this night with you and we see if this is what I hope it is?”

A smile spread across her face. She finished her drink and walked out the door, hoping to find Cass somewhere nearby. Lilly saw a bike sitting in the parking lot and smiled. He hadn’t left. Looking around, she found him leaning up against the side of her black 1966 Mustang Fastback. He had both his hands in his pockets, and the way the light in the parking lot danced around him made him look like there was a spotlight pinned directly on him. He was the epitome of sexy, and he was waiting for her.

“Hello Miss Summers,” Cass said as she approached him.

“Hi.”

“One hell of a project car,” he said, gawking at Betty.

“My dad and I fixed her up, and she’s been my baby ever since.” Lilly beamed.

“That sounds like a cool father-daughter project. What’s your ol’ man do?”

“He’s a retired prison guard.”

“Interesting.” Cass’s eyes never left Betty.

“I thought you had work to do tomorrow?” she asked.

“I do, but not until noon,” he said, smiling at her. “Want to go for a ride?”

Lilly’s face lit up. “Abso-fuckin’-lutely.”

Cass led her over to his motorcycle. Opening a compartment on the side, he pulled out a small helmet and handed it to her. She put it on, and he helped her buckle it underneath her chin. Not able to wipe the silly grin off her face, she waited for him to get on.

He patted the seat behind him. “Hop on.”

Lilly threw her right leg over and positioned herself behind him. She had only ever been on the back of a motorcycle once in her life, when she was too young to worry about it. She didn’t have anything against it, but it wasn’t something that was part of her daily life by any means.

Lilly wrapped her arms around Cass, placing her hands inside the pocket of his cut. She wasn’t quite sure how she was supposed to hold on, but that seemed to work.

“Hold on tight,” he told her. She could hear the smile in his voice as he patted her hand. Turning up the volume on the radio, John Cafferty and the Beaver Brown Band blasted through the speakers, playing the NYC Song.

Cass burst into song. “Hey, little girl.”

Lilly jumped in. “Take me by the hand.”

Cass turned the radio down. “You know this?” he asked, his surprise evident.

“It’s from one of my favorite movies.”

“Huh. Mine too.” He turned it back up as they took off through the parking lot, both singing at the top of their lungs.

When they hit the highway, Cass hammered the gas. Lilly gripped tightly to the inside of his pockets, trying to ensure she wouldn’t fly off the back. Thank God for those two double Crowns, because I don’t know if my nerves could handle this sober. She smiled into his shoulder where her head rested as they rode down the main highway, weaving in and out of traffic.

Although Lilly normally would have been nervous and afraid, for some reason, she trusted the stranger in front of her, whose body she had her arms wrapped around. The adrenaline rush she got from being on the back of a motorcycle with an extremely sexy stranger, and the wind blowing in her face as they raced down the highway at high speeds, made her the happiest she could ever remember being. It was freeing, and she was loving every single minute of it.

Riding past an eighteen-wheeler, Lilly tapped Cass on the shoulder. “What is that smell?”

“That’s what a truck smells like in the open air. You’ll notice different smells when you’re riding that you never would have noticed in a cage.”

“A cage?”

She felt his body shake with laughter. “A vehicle.”

Cass ran his left hand over Lilly’s leg. As they raced in and out of traffic, they sang their hearts out, lost in the moment and forgetting the world around them. For something that was so new, Lilly felt like this was normal. It felt right. She let herself entertain the idea of riding with him on a weekend ride with bikes all around them, but that wasn’t what she was here for. This wasn’t long term. If she was lucky, it was for the duration that she’d be in this town. Isn’t that what she wanted? To relax and enjoy the little amount of time she had away without having to worry about everything back home? That was exactly what she wanted.

Rounding the corner back by Skeeter’s, Cass tapped her hand, letting her know to hold on. He slammed the gas, speeding into the parking lot. When he pulled up next to her Fastback, he killed the bike and unstrapped his helmet like it was second nature to him. Lilly hopped off, smiling.

Undoing her helmet, Cass watched her every move. The

intensity of his stare made Lilly ache inside. She wanted him, bad.

“So, what did you think of that, Miss Summers?”

“That was amazing. I’ve never spent much time on a bike, not like that anyway.”

Cass looked at her, puzzled. “Not like what?”

“Not for an extended period, and most definitely not with a real biker,” she said with a smile.

Cass’s chuckle awakened the butterflies he stirred up earlier inside her stomach. “Hey, I’m here all week, beating up old ladies and everything.”

Lilly wasn’t sure where to go from here, but she was certain she needed more of him. Curiosity would get the best of her—it always did—but she had to know what made him the way he was.

“I’ve had an amazing night with you, but I’m exhausted. I’m ready to get to my room and crash, but I’d like to see you again. Preferably tomorrow?”

“Let me think about it.” He closed the distance between them, placing a hand on either side of her face. Her heart quickened. “I’d like that,” he whispered finally, then pressed his lips to hers.

Lilly’s hands went around his back, pulling him deeper into their kiss. Tracing her hands up and over his shoulders, she pushed to part his lips. He welcomed her tongue into his mouth, his kiss so effortless yet firm that for the first time in her life, she was breathless. His kiss was air, and, in this moment, it was the only thing she needed to survive.

Cass pulled away. “Slow down, turbo. We don’t need people seeing a biker with a pretty woman in the parking lot in the middle of the night. They might think I’m a bad guy trying to take advantage of you, and if you keep kissing me like that, I might.”

Lilly smiled so hard, her cheeks hurt. She took a step back, hoping that putting some distance between the two of them would calm the ache stirring inside of her. If she didn’t, the world would get a show because she wouldn’t tell him no if he wanted to bend her over right here and fuck her senseless.

“You are an amazing kisser. Just. Wow.” Her face was burning up, and she wasn’t sure if it was from that kiss or her confession.

Cass smiled. “I was thinking the same thing about you, Miss Summers.”

Cass wrapped his arms around the small of Lilly’s back, and she instinctively curled into his chest. Pulling back until her face was only inches from his, she kissed him again. It was like his lips had a magnetic pull on hers that she couldn’t break. She stopped herself, ending their embrace sooner than she’d wanted.

Cass tilted her head downward slightly to place a kiss on her forehead.

“Goodnight, Miss Summers,” he said. He turned to get on his bike while Lilly fumbled with her keys.

“Goodnight, Cass. Same place tomorrow? Say around six?” she asked nervously.

“Six is perfect. See you then,” he answered with a smile.

Lilly returned his smile with one of her own then turned to get in her car. The sound of pipes wracking as Cass cranked his bike was a comforting and welcoming sound. Lilly got into her car, still smiling. She cranked up Betty and looked at the clock. Three thirty. It had only been three-and-a-half hours since she’d met this perfect stranger, and already she knew he would have her wrapped. Realizing then that Cass was still sitting next to her driver window, she rolled it down.

“What are you doing?” she asked.

“I can’t leave you alone in a parking lot at 3 a.m.”

Lilly’s cheeks ached, and she realized she hadn’t stopped smiling yet. “Okay, okay. I’m going,” she said and rolled up the window.

Lilly snuck one more look at Cass then drove off toward the highway. Turning left out of the parking lot, Cass turned behind her. The hotel was only minutes away, and she couldn’t wait to get in bed. It had been a long day. A great day, but long nonetheless. Lilly came to a red light and Cass pulled up next to her. He was singing and dancing with the biggest smile on his face.

Score one for the home team. Look at that smile. When the light turned green, she drove on and Cass returned to his place behind her.

Coming up on the driveway of the hotel, Lilly turned in. Cass turned in behind her. Lilly parked in front of the building she was staying in, and Cass pulled up next to her. She looked over at him, and he was still smiling as he took his helmet off and got off the bike. As he walked up to her window, she rolled it down and looked up at him.

“Did I miss the part where I said I want you to come to my room? Because I’m sure that was just a thought.”

“I’m going up to my room,” he answered.

“Wait, you’re staying at this hotel?”

“Yes ma’am.” He laughed.

“What building?”

“This one. Building Six.”

“You’re joking.”

“Nope.” They laughed in unison.

“Seriously, what are the fuckin’ odds?” She shook her head in disbelief.

She rolled her window back up and got out of her car. Cass pulled his room key from the inside pocket of his cut.

“See?” he said, holding it up for her to see. She slapped him on his arm.

“And here I thought you were only here to get me alone. Hmm.”

He held his hand out to her. “May I walk you to your room?”

“Abso-fuckin’-lutely,” she said and placed her hand in his.

Cass’s hands were rough and calloused, yet gentle when they touched her. He swiped his key to get in and held the door open for her. Grabbing her hand again, he led her into the elevator.

“What floor?” he asked.

“Two.”

Cass dropped his head, and a quiet laugh escaped his lips.

“What? Let me guess, you’re on floor two?”

“Yes.”

“I guess that doesn’t really surprise me,” she said with a small grin.

Stepping out of the elevator, Cass looked over to Lilly for direction. She turned right and pulled him along with her. Stopping in front of room twelve, she looked up at him. “Here I am,” she said as she unlocked the door.

Cass had a light about him and when he smiled, his eyes held a scorching desire inside of them. She could see the flames there, and she wanted nothing more in this moment than to play with fire.

“Goodnight again, Lilly.”

He was being a gentleman, and she wasn’t sure how she felt about that. Is that what she wanted right now? When he turned to walk away, she grabbed his arm. He gave her an intrigued look, and she knew that she would not let this man go without having him to herself, even if it were only for one night. Lilly grabbed him by the top of his cut and pulled him into her room.

Cass didn’t hesitate. He shut the door behind him before grabbing her and picking her up. His lips were on hers instantly. Her legs wrapped around his waist as he pushed her into the wall by the door. This kiss was nothing like the one they’d shared in the parking lot. It was rough, hard, and fucking hot. Lilly could feel the heat between her legs, wet and aching for him. His hands ran all over her body, stopping at her black dress shorts. He unbuttoned them and, without missing a beat, he set her down, stripped them off, and had her back up against the wall. She pulled his cut off and grabbed at his shirt. Pulling away long enough to take it off, he picked Lilly up and carried her to the bed. Cass laid her down underneath him gently and undid his belt buckle.

For someone that looked like he could bench press a Buick, his touch was soft. Lilly could only make out a silhouette of Cass in the dark room as he hovered above her. He pressed his lips to her jaw, then down her neck and to her ear. She let out a gasp at the heat of his tongue sliding across her earlobe, pulling her hips upward against his rock-hard cock. It was Cass’s turn to gasp at the movement.

Her lips found his hungrily, and her hands struggled to free him from his boxers. Throwing them across the room, Lilly’s hand found him instantly and stroked his length. He was thick, and long, and he felt so good in her hand. Cass let out a whimper as Lilly stroked him. The want in him fueled by her touch, he grabbed the side of her black lace underwear and ripped them off her. There goes that pair of underwear. His mouth never left hers as his fingers found her clit. Lilly moaned at his touch, letting the sensation devour her.

Cass pulled back and reached over the side of the bed for his blue jeans. Pulling out a condom, he opened it and slid it on in record time. Lilly ached, the need to feel him inside of her intensifying with every passing second. She was nervous and excited. Cass’s hands curled underneath her back, and he rolled with her, placing her on top of him. He pulled her shirt over her head and undid her bra, tossing them both on the floor.

He reached up and caressed her nipples. Lilly’s back arched, and her head went back at the feel of his hands on her chest. She couldn’t go another minute without knowing what it felt like with him inside of her. She pulled herself up and positioned him directly at her core. Slowly, she eased onto him.

“Oh my god. Lilly,” he moaned as she slid all the way down to the base of his cock.

Lilly’s legs trembled at the pleasurable sensation. She wanted to start slow, leaning down to place gentle kisses across his neck, making an invisible trail to his lips. Her tongue searched for his as she moved up and down slowly, taking in all of him. Cass placed his hands on her hips as he thrust upward into her. Lilly let out a cry.

It took everything in her to keep moving. She felt her orgasm building quickly. She sat straight up on top of him and rode him hard. She pushed onto him, ensuring that she took all of him. Lilly moved her hips forward and backward. Grabbing both of his hands, she threw her head back. She was so close to pouring over the edge of ecstasy.

Lilly could feel herself tightening around Cass, and from the sounds he was making, she knew he could feel it, too. She wanted to hang on to this feeling of being on the edge, but fighting it was becoming too much.

“Lilly, you’re going to make me come,” Cass whispered, gripping her hips so hard that she could feel his pulse through his fingertips. Every movement she made intensified the euphoria of her building orgasm. “Fuck!” Cass gasped, and Lilly could feel his undoing. That was all she needed to be pushed over the edge. She came around him right before he came inside of her. Her orgasm lasted for what felt like hours. Lilly pushed herself to move, to elongate the bliss that was pouring out of her, but she couldn’t take it anymore.

Any energy that remained was drained with the last of her orgasm, and she collapsed on top of Cass. He wrapped his arms around her, and she nuzzled her head under his chin. The will to move was gone. Although the two of them were both covered in sweat and breathing hard, Lilly didn’t want to ruin the moment. Cass kissed her forehead.

“You, Lilly Summers, are amazing.” She could feel the smile on his face against her forehead.

“Thank you. You’re not so bad yourself.” Struggling to sit up, she somehow managed to walk to the bathroom.

“Sorry about your underwear,” Cass called from the bed. Lilly walked out with a towel and laid it across his hips.

“I didn’t like them that much anyway.”

Cass sat up. “You’re so beautiful.”

Lilly blushed, more so than she already had. “Thank you.” She pulled her hair in front of her face. Cass lay back on the bed.

“Whew.” Lilly lay beside him and positioned herself in the empty space between his arm and his chest. She looked at Cass, whose eyes were closed, and a quirky grin stayed on his face.

She closed her eyes and ran her hand through the hair on his chest. She’d never been attracted to men with hair, but for some reason, on Cass, it was sexy as hell.

Relaxed and drained, Lilly let herself drift off to sleep in the comfort of his arms.
