Plight of the Alpha (Full Moon Series Book 10) by Mia Rose (15)

What Time’s the Flight?

“We learn to dance in the rain rather than waiting for the sun.”

The pack sat in Declan’s apartment while he roamed around the room and detailed to them what was going to happen. Now the storm was heading closer in their direction, so they needed to move sooner rather than later and be ahead of the weather. Sanders who was further up the coast would (fingers-crossed) be held up. This was all theoretical, but Sanders could already be moving without the pack knowing.

Maria’s laptop notification rang out as a bell tone. She stepped off the couch and hit the space bar. She opened the email app and spotted that Alvin had messaged her.

“Alvin, the guy in charge of the Towers, he has sent me an email from the biker bar,” she said. Maria held the laptop up and showed the picture to everyone. “And look who he bumped into.”

“What a nerve, and what a freaking risk,” Gabriel said. “I helped them out when some of their pack got silver bullets in them.”

“You pulled bullets?” Declan asked.

“Yeah, I told them I was in the forces.”

Declan laughed, and tears streamed from the corner of his eyes. “You’ve never done a day’s work in your life.”

“The pack in the bar fell for it, and what was the worst that might happen? The biker might die from the silver bullet. It was a chance worth taking, and he did it.”

“Back to us,” Declan said. “We’re almost ready, and the transport’s been alerted we’re leaving in the morning.

He went on to explain the situation with Kelvin. They’d run the tests, and he was on medication to ease the symptoms. He’d be fine, and it only needed time for the medication to work (he lied again). Declan also explained the situation with Tiffany. For whatever reason, and after what Garrett had found out, it was the army who was going to use her like a lab rat and see what their new liquid would do to a wolf, rather than a human. He also explained she had safe houses, and one of those was in Mexico.

“Tiffany has a safe house in the area where we are going?” Gabriel asked.

Declan shook his head and said it was a distance away from where they were going to be. It was close to a lake and so the relevance to them he wasn’t altogether sure of.

Sascha raised her hand. She’d got to know the pack quickly, and there was something she’d spotted about all of them. None of the pack mentioned it, so she decided to bring it up.

“What happens when you reach Mexico?” she asked.

Declan frowned. It was something which was obvious to him. “We find transport and then head into the mountains.”

“How’re you going to manage it when none of you can speak Spanish?” she said.

Something so simple had caught them out. None of them could speak Spanish. However, they guessed someone could. Declan added (after the silence) they’d have to find a translator, and take them along for the ride.

“Yeah right!” Sascha exclaimed. “You’re dragging a Mexican along into what could be a battle to the death?”

“We’ll figure it out somehow,” he replied. “So we...”

Sascha was a little pissed. She hadn’t finished, and Declan shrugged her off and carried on. She stood and walked toward him.

“I have a solution.”

“You know someone in Mexico who can help?”

Sascha shook her head. She explained she could do much better than having them meet up with a stranger. Everyone looked puzzled. She said she had a real solution, but so far she hadn’t said what it was.

“Come on. Tell us!” Noelle said.

“I’m coming with you.”

“WHAT!” Gabriel leaped to his feet. “You THINK you’re coming with us? It’s dangerous.”

Sascha told him to sit down and shut his mouth (politely). She said she was fluent in Spanish, and it’d be good to have someone who was a little more experienced than yanking silver bullets out of half-dead bodies. It made sense to all of them, and with Kelvin’s condition, they finally agreed she could make up the numbers.

“What time are we heading off?” Sascha asked.

“We need to be on the road before five. It’s not a short drive, but with the weather, we need to make sure we’re well-ahead of the storm,” Declan explained.

“What time’s the flight?” Kelvin asked.

Dustin and Declan laughed. So far, it hadn’t been mentioned the form of travel they were going to take. Because they were so far behind Sanders, by road wasn’t an option. Everyone thought it was logical to fly. It was, but being logical wasn’t needed in this situation. Being illogical was crucial so Sanders wouldn’t have a clue what they were up to or where they were. They were venturing out where none of his vlad scouts would spot them.

“We’re going across the gulf,” Declan said.

“In a boat?” Kelvin asked.

Declan explained why it was the obvious option. It might get rough, but while they were ahead of the storm, they could cut almost two days off the trip. Declan also explained why Sanders hadn’t used the same method. Being stuck in the middle of the ocean when you have a weakness for sunlight isn’t the best scenario.

“So, make sure all of your valuables are sealed in Ziploc bags. We don’t want anything getting soaked on the trip.”

The pack stood and muttered among themselves for a while. Declan walked to the window and peered across the condo complex. The rain became heavier, and the trees now bent over at angles which weren’t normal.

I hope to Christ it calms by the morning.

As everyone was about to leave, Dustin had something to say. Being the oldest out of all of them he felt a little shy in saying it.

“The captain has got life jackets, hasn’t he?”

Declan looked at him with a puzzled expression. “You know he has. You’ve seen the boat.”

“I was just making sure, that’s all,” he replied.

“Ah. Okay.”

It wasn’t like Dustin to make such a vague comment. He looked relieved and followed Kelvin out of Declan’s apartment. His head was lowered a little while he thought. He paused and looked at the weather across the parking lot. Kelvin turned as his hair brushed across his face.

“What’s wrong?”

“It’s nothing,” Dustin replied.

Kelvin knew Dustin as well as he knew Declan. He sensed when something was amiss, and now something was amiss.

“Don’t try and fob me off saying everything’s alright. I can see something is bothering you.”

Dustin sighed; he lifted his head up and carried on walking. He put his hand on Kelvin's shoulder and asked him not to say anything to anyone. Kelvin replied he could keep a secret.

Dustin looked at him. “I can’t swim.”

* * *

“Crap.”

“What’s wrong?” Lizeth asked. She pulled her earphone from her ear.

Sanders muted the TV. He turned toward the bed where Lizeth lay browsing through a magazine. The faint sound of a child crying in the room next door (Drake) and the wind which picked up over the past hour was annoying.

“We need to leave tonight. This storm’s heading this way rather than making its way up the other coast. As if the trip wasn’t long enough without crappy weather slowing us down.”

Sanders stood and walked out of the motel room. The door slammed behind him, and he never noticed Lizeth pushing the earphones back into her ears. He rapped his knuckles on the next room as the wind and rain lashed at his back. The door opened, and Juanita stood with Drake draped over her shoulder. He bawled while Sanders pushed his way into the room.

“Can’t you stop that kid from crying?” he snapped.

“I try. He scared of El Nina.”

“I get it. The rain and the wind. Can’t you do something? Shove a bottle in his mouth.” Sanders pursed his lips and made out he was sucking a bottle. Juanita grabbed her breast and lifted it up and down. “Titty?”

“No! You stupid woman. B…O…T…T…L…E!” he yelled.

If it shuts him up, you can shove your tit in his mouth.

“We leave in three.” He held up three fingers. “Hours.”

“Hokay. Tres horas.” She nodded and smiled.

Sanders turned and headed back to his room. He twisted the door handle. It was locked. He felt his back become sodden while he stood banging on the door.

“Lizeth, can you open the door?”

Sanders changed from banging with his knuckles to slamming the side of his fist against the door.

“Lizeth,” he yelled. “Open the fucking door.” He pulled his arm back and plunged it forward. The door opened, and he thrust his clenched fist into mid-air.

“There’s no need to shout,” she remarked. Her headphones were now hung around her bare neck. Sanders watched while her naked body walked back toward the bed.

“And do you need to walk around naked; it’s not befitting a queen, is it?”

“I’m relaxed when I’m naked.”

“You shouldn’t be freakin’ relaxed with this weather outside.”

Lizeth knelt on the bed and raised her eyebrows. “Have you ever made love in a storm?”

Sanders began pulling his wet clothes from his body. He replied he’d never had sex in the rain.

“Do you want to?” she replied. “It’s so much fun.”

Sanders explained they needed to leave in a few hours. The last thing which was on his mind was sex in the rain. Lizeth pouted and spread her legs. She ran her fingers up her thighs and winked at him.

“Come on. Don’t be such a spoilsport.”

Sanders dropped his pants and stood there in his wet shorts. His arousal growing while he watched Lizeth tease herself for his pleasure. Sex was well known to relieve stress, and neither Megan nor Tanya were there to take offense.

While the cats away, the mice will play.

“Where? I mean we can’t do it in the damn parking lot.”

Lizeth stood and grabbed two waterproof jackets. They dressed, and she opened the door. She grabbed Sanders by the hand and tugged him into the heavy rain. She pointed across the narrow street toward the public park. No one would be walking around in it, let alone having sex.

They crossed the street, and the rain rattled against their plastic coats. She glanced around and popped open the gate. They walked along the path until they arrived at a bench.

“Here.”

“So, how do we do this?” Sanders asked.

Lizeth pulled off her raincoat and stood naked, apart from her ankle-high boots. She leaned against the park bench and tilted her head backward. Her dark hair fell backward too, and the rain soaked her naked body. Sanders opened the buttons of his coat and draped it over the bench. Lizeth lifted her head and ran her hands over his body. For someone so old he maintained his fitness well. His abs were tightly-corded muscle.

“Come, my king. Take your queen.”

Lizeth turned and grabbed the rear of the bench. Sanders stroked himself to full hardness. He inched closer as he watched the rain falling against her body. Her legs spread when he neared her, and the wet skin of her ass pushed against his loins. He sighed as he felt her fingers guide his shaft to her rain-soaked pus...

“Are you enjoying it?”

Rain streamed down his face. He wiped the water from his eyes and replied it felt good. His finger pushed hard into her curvaceous hips. Sanders drove himself inside. The full length of his shaft penetrated the hot depths of Lizeth’s body. She squealed with excitement when Sanders increased his tempo. Her body warmed to his touch and was chilled by the rain. Sensations danced along her skin. Her hand rose from the bench and cupped her breast when she found her nipple was already hardened. She sucked in sharp breaths as she tugged her hard nub. Any pain vanished as Sanders pushed his hard cock harder and deeper.

Rain flooded against their bare skin. “Change position,” she mumbled. Lizeth turned and rested her back against the wooden bench. She clasped her hands behind his head and raised one leg.

“Hold this around your waist.”

Sanders clamped his fingers around her leg and pushed it around Lizeth’s waist. The heat of his body now spreading into her leg. With a seductive look, she pulled him closer. His shaft filled her. Lizeth lifted her other leg and wrapped it around Sanders' waist. She tightened the grip with her legs and peered into his eyes.

“Those are freaky fucking eyes you have,” she remarked.

“Do they scare you?” he asked.

“Not at all,” she replied. “They turn me on more than anything.”

Her fingers gripped the rear of the bench as she raised her hips. She rocked back and forth with each of Sanders’ deep thrusts. His hands cupped her under her ass. He pushed and pulled her while their bodies crashed together. The light from the overhead lamp cast a golden glow over their entwined bodies. They bucked and squirmed like one when they neared their final moments.

A beam of bright light shone across Lizeth’s body. Sanders’ puzzled look peered down and to his side.

“Stand and raise your hands over your head,” the voice called from behind the flashlight.

“What a motherfucker,” Lizeth cried. “The cops. They can’t catch me, or I’ll be locked up.”

“What do you mean?” Sanders asked while he rammed into her, still trying to finish.

“I said, step away from the girl and raise your hands.”

“Lady of the night. Warning from the judge never to solicit again,” Lizeth remarked.

Sanders looked at her. She wasn’t soliciting, but the cop wouldn’t know she was in the middle of a passionate embrace. Who in their right mind would have sex in the middle of a tropical storm?

Sanders lowered Lizeth’s feet to the ground. She reached for her raincoat with her soaked hand, and Sanders said he’d take care of the cop. He walked toward the beam of light.

“Stop right there!” the cop called.

“It’s not what it seems, we’re both consenting adults.” Sanders turned to find Lizeth disappeared into the rain-drenched night. Where the hell has she gone?

“Don’t come any closer.”

Sanders shook his head and sighed. He turned back to the flashlight and muttered to himself. He changed into his vlad form.

“I don’t have time for this shit.”

“We learn to dance in the rain rather than waiting for the sun.”
