Saving HER: A Brother's Best Friend Fireman Romance by Mia Ford (29)

“We were that way once, Brent. We partied the day away as well as the nights. No responsibilities at all.” He shrugged. “This is a new thing to us, as much as it is our…friends.”

“Yeah, I just saw it a different way last night. Maybe all of these hours are making me crazy or something.” I pulled into the garage and parked, stepping out of the car as he opened his door.

“I think we’ll both be in a padded room come January,” Brandon clapped me on the shoulder, making me laugh.

We had another long day, but it was good. I was growing to enjoy working over the empty life that we were living before, finding it interesting that he built this from nothing. I got a close look at his work over the years through paperwork and the computer. I got a look at the steps that failed and the ones that worked, hearing stories about Dad from everybody. We had Mom taking care of the party and only had to show up, finding the bar ready and the restaurant looking great. I grinned and looked at the staff that was gathering around the bar, laughing, and talking as I glanced at Brandon. We walked in to join them, smiling at Mom as she came in from the kitchen in a bright green dress. She was always at these events, and I was happy to see her since I wasn’t sure that she’d come.

The buffet was soon ready for all of us, and we lined up to fill our plates with the Mediterranean and American food before taking seats at the tables set up around the room. I joined Mom, seeing the blush to her cheeks as she looked at me with tears in her eyes. “They’re all so kind. They gave me presents and told me how sorry they were…they did that at the church already.”

“Mom, this is your company as much as it was his. You worked hard back in the beginning too, with the books and taking care of these parties. They all love you.” She smiled and nodded, wiping her cheeks.

“Remember when they used to call you Mom and then their kids called you Grandma, making us jealous?” Brandon laughed as she nodded. “Then Ash became that to them. It’s a circle, Mom. We’re going to keep this extended family just that, a family.”

“You two are making me so proud. I know that he’s looking down as well, beaming at the job that you are doing. Your father is proud of you.” Mom told us with a nod and shimmering eyes.

I exchanged a look with my brother, knowing we both hoped that he didn’t see everything. We were tainting the company with some of our past behavior, in ways that might harm others. I don’t know how much of a part I played in Veronica’s issues, but I felt some lingering guilt every now and then. We were doing things that Dad wouldn’t approve of.

CHAPTER 16

Brandon

I pushed back from the desk, rubbing my temples. “Now I know why Dad always had an assistant this time of year. It’s so fucking busy.” I glanced up at my brother who looked as tired as I felt. He nodded. “Can we borrow someone else’s for a while?”

“They’re trained for that manager and I don’t want to do that. Let’s get through the next couple of weeks and we’ll get someone to clean everything up, okay?” We were working so much and so quickly that there would be a shit ton of spreadsheets to finalize. “Let’s make it a working situation this time.”

“You didn’t like the other ones?” I challenged as Brent gazed at me.

“I did, but neither seemed to end well and now we’re here working all goddamn day. I just want to be more responsible in the future.” He returned to his work on the computer and I stood to get some more coffee. I made him a cup as well, knowing how tired he was. We were doing dinner out with Mom later tonight with some friends and I didn’t know how I was going to get through that when all I wanted to do was sleep.

The Christmas party had been a great event. The food was good and everyone hit the open bar and enjoyed themselves, talking in groups and dancing once they felt their inhibitions slip. I realized just how beautiful the women on the staff were when they were dressed in their little cocktail dresses and wasted, their flirtations much more obvious when they got me alone. Fuck, it was hard to turn them away. I could easily take one down the hall and into a bathroom or storage closet and fuck her so fast, releasing the stress from work.

I didn’t. I knew where I was and even more than that, who I was. I’d never disrespect Mom that way after all the work that she put into this night. It wasn’t easy, though, and I looked at Brent as I set the coffee down in front of him. “Here, Brent.”

“Thanks,” he smiled weakly at me as he leaned back. “I should get someone in here to massage everyone. Wasn’t that in a movie that Mom liked?” I laughed, knowing which one he was thinking of.

“She said the same thing to Dad.” We shared a long glance and I looked at the clock. “Want to get one before dinner?”

“We have so much to do that I don’t know if we should take an extra few hours on top of dinner,” he replied thoughtfully as I sighed. “I’ll consider bringing someone in next week, since everyone has been working so hard. It would be a nice break.”

We stayed in the office until five, leaving to take Mom and Ashley to the restaurant with our friends. They asked Brandon and I everything about the company and we answered, faking enthusiasm through the exhaustion that we were both feeling. I didn’t know how Dad did it year after year with a smile on his face, but it kept me going. There were times I thought he was crazy for giving us the run of the company so quickly but it was safe to assume that he thought he had years left with us.

We talked about Dad over the meal, sharing memories and laughter as I made sure that Mom was okay through it. She seemed to enjoy talking about it with everyone and I felt guilty for working so hard and not being home. Jesus, life was difficult. I missed the days of travel and parties, where the hardest decision was what girl I was going to pick for the night.

We took them home just before ten, ready to drop. Our day started at eight the following morning and I personally knew that I could sleep for a day right now. I didn’t know just how Brent felt but it was probably similar. We hugged Mom and Ashley before heading upstairs and changing into something to sleep in, not talking at all.

I told a friend I would meet them Saturday night, needing something other than the office in my world. They chose a popular nightclub and I pulled on some black slacks and a button up shirt as I thought about Brent back at the office. He’d chosen to stay at work while I skipped out. Mom was out with a friend and I left the house, taking one of the cars as I headed into Manhattan.

The club was crowded and brightly lit in the blue and pink lights all over the building. I got right in, knowing every bouncer in town and clapped Marvin on the shoulder as I headed towards the bar. The guys were there, drinking beer and chatting up some girls as I walked up, and they all greeted me with sarcasm and humor about being a working man now. I shook my head and ordered from the pretty bartender before I turned my attention to the girls gathered around. “Hello, ladies. I’m Brandon.”

The night passed with dances and drinking as I let myself relax. There was a lot of women there tonight and I found myself off in the corner making out with a platinum blonde with great tits. She said that she was a paralegal assistant when we were dancing but that thought skipped my mind as her tongue slipped into my mouth, igniting my desire for her touch.

We made plans to leave and go to her place, and I sent a quick text to friends telling them I was leaving. I needed a night with a woman in her room, reminding myself what sex was since we lost Veronica. I couldn’t believe that I hadn’t touched anyone since then and we walked down the street to an impressive brownstone before she unlocked the door and led me into a large foyer. I locked my lips back on hers and pressed her hard against the wall before kissing her neck and asking where her room was.

Brittany led me down a hallway and through a door, and I glanced around to see a big bed in a very lavender room. Jesus, it was girly in here but I looked back at the girl lifting off her dress and decided that I could get over it quickly. She had a body to die for. I stepped forward, unbuttoning my shirt, and letting it slip from my shoulders as her bright blue eyes shimmered with desire. “You’re so hot,” Brittany breathed out as I reached forward to unclasp her bra before kissing her deeply. We stumbled back to the bed where I kissed her lips senselessly before moving down her neck. Brittany gasped and clawed at me while I teased her, pushing my leg against her core. Fuck, she was so wet.

I sucked her nipple hard as she screamed for more, holding my head in place. I moved down her flat abdomen, slipping off the barely there thong before licking her glistening pussy gently. She ripped my clothes off after I made her come and her mouth was locked around my needy cock before I could blink. I slipped my hands into her thick hair and fought the urge to fuck her mouth.

I took her from behind, slapping her ass in between hard thrusts as Brittany cried out my name. She wasn’t as tight as I liked but it was better than the times I’d used my hand recently when I wasn’t too tired. I pumped into her, feeling her come before I shot deep into the condom that sheathed me. I dropped on the bed beside her and looked around the room again. It was the epitome of feminine and I took a deep breath. “You felt great, baby.” I fed her the words that I knew girls liked, though I wasn’t lying. Not entirely. She did feel great but I knew I’d never see her again.

That point hit me in the gut when I dressed and left after a second round, feeling her behind me in the hallway as I headed towards the living room. It was brightly lit and I glanced in, freezing as Brittany bumped into me. One of the assistants was sitting there with a couple other girls and her dark brow raised at the sight of me. “Mr. Moyen,” she said slowly as I ran a hand through my hair.

“You know him?” Brittany asked behind me as the girl laughed.

“He owns the company that I work for, Bri,” she replied as I felt my skin heat up. The sex had not been quiet and I wondered how much they heard. I wondered how much talk there would be Monday about my sexual prowess after working on taming the rumors. Jesus, this wasn’t good.

“You own a company?” Brittany asked as her arms slipped around my waist. Great. I didn’t tell her that on purpose so I could avoid her being clingy, since she seemed to think I was just a guy that worked for a shipping company. We didn’t talk that much before coming here, fueled by alcohol and lust.

“Yes,” I replied shortly as I stepped out of her embrace. I turned to look at her and forced a smile. “Thank you, Brittany. It was a great night.” I kissed her cheek chastely and headed towards the door, needing to be out of the line of vision of all the mouthy girls currently staring at me.

I walked down the empty street to the club to retrieve my car and head home, shocked into sobriety over the night’s events. The club was long closed and I slipped into the sports car and let it warm up for a moment as I closed my eyes. “Fuck. Why did she have to live there?” I’d enjoyed all that Brittany had to offer and I didn’t realize that she even had a roommate that entire time. Maybe I should talk to women before fucking them.

I headed home, hoping that it wasn’t a total disaster at work. It wasn’t like I slept with one of my employees and I was entirely unaware of the hot brunette’s name, much less the fact that she lived there. I didn’t do anything wrong but based on the looks on the faces in that living room, their tongues were wagging.

Brent was watching television in the living room, catching up on some sports as I gave him a curious look. “Why are you up?”

“I think I’m too tired to sleep like a normal person and I also gave everyone tomorrow off. We all need some rest,” he replied as he tore his gaze away from the screen to look at me. “Have fun?”

“Shit, Brent. I went home with a girl and her roommate works for us.” I dropped onto the couch, knowing that nobody else was up right now. It was too late.

“Bran, did you do her as well?” He asked, irritation in his voice.

“Fuck, no. I came out to leave and she was sitting in the living room. She didn’t say that she lived there but I gathered as much. There was a group of them on the couch and I expect some gossip.”

“It would be worse if you slept with her too, so don’t worry about it. It’ll die down if it starts at all. Did they hear you guys or something?” He asked as I smirked. “That bad?”

“She was vocal. I was vocal. End of story.” I stretched and looked at him. “Get some rest, buddy.”

“Brunch at noon tomorrow with Mom and Ash,” Brent told me as I almost groaned. “Christmas is next Friday so the rush is almost over.”

“Yeah, I hope so,” I told him as I headed upstairs for some sleep. I woke up in time to shower and head downstairs to take them to eat, catching up with Mom since it felt like I never saw her. Ashley spoke about school and new boyfriend as I gave Brent a dark look. She was too young for that shit and I was going to meet this guy as soon as I could.

We took them home after a couple of hours and I took a nap, since I had the day off and all. I didn’t want to go out again tonight so sleep sounded like a great plan, and Mom told me to come down for some soup later if I got hungry. She’d thanked us for working so hard at the end of brunch, hugging us both tightly before Brent drove us all back to the house.

I woke up in my dark room, seeing my phone lit up on the table beside it. I blinked and yawned before reaching for it, seeing a text from one of the regulars. I knew that I wasn’t going anywhere tonight and sent a text back responding to that.

I decided that I felt like forty-two more than I did twenty-two right now as I rolled back over and sighed. I hoped that things would slow down after the holidays and I could find some of my old life again.

CHAPTER 17

Brent

I was up early the following day and ready to go to the office. The house was decorated for Christmas and I looked around, realizing that it was Friday. It would be the first Christmas without Dad and pain filled my chest for a moment as I heard footsteps on the stairs. I didn’t know how it was going to be, but we had a lot of family coming over to spend it with us. The office was closed for the weekend and I was going to use it catching up on rest and seeing the people that I missed right now.

I’d been asked over to dinner by a girl that I used to see frequently, Dahlia. She was a socialite in Manhattan with dark hair and a yoga body and very tempting, if I could get away. I had to get through this week first and then deal with it. “Morning.” Brandon greeted me as he walked to get some coffee. “Back to it, I suppose?”

“Yep,” I replied as Mom walked in. “Hi, Mom.”

“Morning, boys. You look nice.” We dressed in slacks and button ups every day, even ties sometimes. Dad always told us growing up to look professional at the job if we were going to be working with employees. In his mind, that was the first step to professionalism. Too bad we already messed that up by getting involved with two assistants, causing a little bit of chatter in the building. Now Bran might have caused more but he didn’t know who she lived with. Bar girls weren’t the ones that we got to know before sleeping with them, and that was just bad timing.

“Thanks, Mom. It makes them fear us,” Brandon teased as she laughed. We headed out, driving together quietly as we watched New York wake up. “Friday, man. I can’t believe that he won’t be there.”

“I know. Mom seems to be handling it pretty well so far,” I observed from the passenger seat as he shrugged. “I am glad that everyone is coming to our house this year. I don’t feel like driving to Boston in holiday traffic, though it might be better for Mom to do that.”

“That’s what she wanted. We all checked with her, so she deserves this. If she falls apart, she’ll be with people who love her. Ash invited the new boyfriend so she’ll be supported but he is in for a surprise.” I chuckled at Brandon as he looked at me. “She’s only sixteen, Brent.”

“Do you remember our view on girls in high school?” I asked him as he snorted. “Even Ash is aware of our reputation, Bran. She isn’t proud of it so I think she’d choose someone quite different than we were.”

“Figures. It wasn’t that long ago,” he muttered as he turned into the parking garage. “There is so much work waiting up in that office for us.”

“I lined up a masseuse to pop in this week. She’s reasonable and hot enough that the guys will like it while being sweet enough that the women won’t hate her. That along with the holiday bonus should keep everyone in good moods.” I assured him as he nodded. We got out of the car and headed up to our floor, just a bit earlier than the rest of the office. I liked the quiet and when it was not slammed, it allowed us to be home a little sooner. Right now, we were generally here later than anyone else. I reminded myself that we made a lot of money doing this and kept Mom and Ashley in the life they were used to as I walked to our office to warm up the computer. I made coffee while that happened and took a deep breath as it brewed, filling the room with the scent of the dark roast. I got my brother a cup as well and brought it to him as we got set up at our desks for the day.

The office filled with voices as the next hour passed and I knew that we were at full capacity. The number of orders we all had to process was absurd, and I longed for personal help again. I took a break and looked at Brandon for a moment as he sipped his coffee. “What if we place an ad?” I asked as he glanced at me.

“For help?”

“Yeah, but let’s keep it at that for this week at least,” I joked as he grinned. “We have orders to catch up on and there’s a good chance that we won’t have someone right away anyway.” I shrugged. “I’d rather get caught up sooner rather than later and try to focus on other aspects of the company.”

“Let’s do it,” he agreed as I nodded and pulled up the former ad. It said everything that we needed and I posted it in one of the job sites before getting back to work. I laughed at the emails coming in about a beautiful girl giving shoulder massages and assured the managers that it was legit and to enjoy.

One of them mentioned that his personal assistant had a friend that was looking for a job, since her company of seven years closed due to bankruptcy. He said that Breanna assured him that she was smart and a hard worker that just had a bit of rough luck and she’d mentioned how busy she was at work. He knew how hard Dad worked and wanted to help and I told Brandon about it. “We can talk to her, right?” He asked as I nodded and told the guy to have her call us. If she was a good worker, she could pick up quickly and get this mess caught up.

We worked through the day until lunch and grabbed some sandwiches at a nearby deli. My phone rang while we were walking and I answered in business mode as a woman asked if this was Brent Moyen. “Yes, it is. Who am I speaking to?” I asked as Brandon looked at me.

“My name is Jane Drury and I believe that one of your managers spoke to you. I am Breanne’s friend,” she offered as I noted a drawl in her voice. She must not be from New York. “I was interested in a job there since I just got laid off. I have an apartment that I don’t want to lose and Bre says that you’re busy this time of year…well, every time of year.” She laughed and I smiled.

“What was the former job?” I asked as she told me that it was at a warehouse for a smaller shipping company, one that I knew mishandled their finances from word of mouth. “I know that you have experience then. Come in this afternoon or tomorrow morning, if that isn’t too soon?” She agreed with relief in her voice and told me she’d be there at three o clock to talk to me. “We have an interview today.” Brandon looked at me as he sipped his soda, raising an eyebrow.

“That is almost too easy,” he said as I shrugged. “You said her friend works for the company, too?”

“Yes, so we need to behave ourselves. We already pushed it last time,” I referenced Veronica as we both sighed. “She sounds like a sweet girl.”

“Uh oh,” he voiced our thoughts as I pushed open the door to the building. It was exhausting how many people watched us walk down the street and I was noticing cameras now. I didn’t see the fascination with us but I just let it go. We walked back to the office and he dropped his gaze to the floor as we left the elevator as I scanned the crowd that was getting on the elevator. There was a brunette looking at us with a glint in her eyes and I thought back to the weekend.

“Is that her?” I asked once we were in the office and he nodded. “She noticed you.”

“Yeah, I saw that,” Brandon noted as he sat down and sighed. “She’s hot but there’s no way that I’d tap that. I hope her friend didn’t tell her every detail.” Brandon grimaced and I laughed. “Shut up. You’ve been there.”

“Hence the reason I’m laughing. I was bored with the last girl I hooked up with, so I didn’t have this drama.” I told him as I unwrapped the sandwich. “She was just so typical. Empty.”

“Isn’t that what we’re supposed to want? We’re only twenty-two,” Brandon told me as I shrugged.

“Are we? It doesn’t feel like that.” I said as I shook my head. “There will be more balance after this week. Maybe Jane will work out.”

“That’s a sweet name,” Brandon said as I laughed. “Who is she friends with?”

“Breanne. She’s Logan’s assistant,” I replied as he looked thoughtfully out of the window.

“Redhead. She’s cute,” Brandon snapped his fingers as I stared at him.

“Don’t get any fucking ideas,” I warned him as he shrugged. “We’ve fucked off enough here.”

We were done with lunch and ready for Jane when three rolled around, sitting behind our desks as we waited. There was a soft knock at our door and I told the person to come in, seeing a girl with dark curls walk in as she looked around the office with wide bright green eyes. She was wearing a conservative green dress that brought their color out and she cleared her throat as she looked at us. “Are you twins?”

“I am Brent Moyen and this is Brandon, my twin brother. We took over the company this year after our father passed,” I offered as sympathy crossed her pretty face.

“I’m so sorry,” Jane said as she eased herself forward and glanced at the chair.

“Have a seat. Tell us about yourself,” Brandon offered as she slipped into the seat and pressed her hands into her lap. Jane was about our age and looked like the girl next door with her innocent face. She was beautiful in a subdued kind of way and I watched her as she smiled at us.

“My name is Jane Drury and I am twenty-two years old. I worked for Ames Shipping for seven years until they closed and my friend Breanne mentioned this place.” She swallowed thickly as I stared at her. “It’s so much bigger than Ames. They used to read about you guys all of the time.”

“I am familiar with them. They started in the south, right?” I asked as she nodded. “It’s hard to bring a business here sometimes. Are you from New York originally?”

“No, sir. I am from Nashville and moved with the company. I have a cute little place in Brooklyn and New York has grown on me. I’d like to try and stay here for a time.” She smiled and I looked at Brandon. “I have a resume if you’d like to look at it.” She passed a pink folder across the desk and I looked at it, finding it impressive before I passed it to my brother to look over. She was young but had a good work history. Jane clearly knew the shipping business and I expected that she could start with little training. “Breanne said y’all are busy right now with the holidays?”

“Very. We’ve all been putting in a lot of hours,” Brandon said as he slid the folder back to me. He gave me a look telling me that he approved of the resume and I nodded as I looked at her. “Do you travel for the holidays?”

Jane shook her head. “It’s just Mama and I and she’s coming here. I was anticipating being busy at work, so I didn’t schedule time off.”

“I think we’d like to offer you the job, at least to catch us up. We can sit down after the rush is over and decide on a regular schedule for you, but as far as I’m concerned, you’re hired.” I said as she clapped her hands and smiled happily. “I think we can send a message to HR and get you there today to get the necessary paperwork filled out. You’ll earn twenty-two dollars an hour and we have a benefits package that you’ll find out more about in HR.”

“That sounds great,” Jane told us as she beamed at us. Fuck, she was cute. “Will I be starting tomorrow then?”

“Eight o clock.” Brandon directed her to HR at the far right of the building and she was off as he looked at me. Jane thanked us several times and was close to hugging us, but we stayed behind our desks. “She’s different.”

“She’s a country girl,” I replied as I looked at him. “She didn’t even look like she was our age.”

“I wonder if she’s a virgin,” Brandon mused as I rolled my eyes. “Can you imagine? It’s been a while.”

“Stop it. We’re not going there, Bran. Her and Breanne are friends and they’re the same kind of girl. That can’t happen so enjoy your memories and keep it in your pants.” I shot him a warning glance as an email came through from Logan. He said the he already heard the news and was happy that it worked out for us. I thanked him for the reference and got back to work as HR told me that everything was set with Jane before we left for the night.

We ate with Mom and told her about the new developments, making her instantly want to invite Jane and her mother over so they wouldn’t be alone. I smiled at her kindness and watched Ashley tell her to simmer down since we’d have a houseful already.

CHAPTER 18

Jane

I got up early the following day and pulled out my burgundy wrap around dress with some black Mary Jane shoes. I let my hair dry in its usual soft curls and put on a little make up to present myself well to my new coworkers. I thought I was plain compared to some of the girls there and thankful that I had Breanna to talk to.

My new brother bosses were hot, though. I looked them up and found out that they were my age, but we lived very different lives. They were rich and their Daddy built the company from the ground up, becoming one of the biggest shipping companies in the world. He died in a car accident and they must have taken over right after that. I couldn’t even imagine that. I only moved here four years ago, to work in the New York division of the company for a change and when they closed their doors, I was sure I’d be moving back home. Mama wouldn’t mind that but I liked city living. It was busy and there was always something to look at. I seemed to fade into the background as well, something that was quite different from growing up in a small town. I wasn’t from Nashville but I said that for reference purposes since most people didn’t need to know the details.

I made some coffee in my tiny kitchen and poured it into the Starbucks cup that Breanna gave me for my birthday. I was taking the bus to work and I grabbed my things and rushed out to the bus stop and found a seat as I sighed in relief. I left my car in Tennessee, since driving here didn’t interest me. I asked Breanna to show me the public transport in the area and got to know it well over the years.

I arrived at the building about fifteen minutes early and made my way inside with a lot of other people. There were four elevators and group after group poured into them, making me wonder if I shouldn’t get here earlier tomorrow. This was a madhouse.

I got to my desk outside of their office just at eight and swallowed nervously before tapping on the door. “Good morning,” one of them said as he opened it for me, welcoming me inside. I paid attention yesterday and I thought that it was Brent. They were exact twins but he had some dimples in his face when he smiled that Brandon was missing.

“Good morning,” I replied as I smiled. “I trust this is my desk?”

“The tour. You haven’t had it yet,” Brandon said from across the room as I shook my head.

“I’ll tend to that. Get started and I’ll be back in a bit.” Brent stepped out and assured me that this was my desk and that he’d show me the gadgets when he’d shown me around the floor. There was a large break room that offered a few coffee makers as well as some vending machines, with three refrigerators for employees to store food in. It was spacious and even with the people in here, I didn’t feel too overwhelmed. Okay, some of the girls were intimidating but I just told myself that I was not here to make friends. I was here to work.

He showed me the employee restrooms but told me that there was one in their office as well. I’d be working in there so it was more convenient and I blushed at the idea of having to pee in there with them so close. These boys were so cute and charming and I noticed the way that some of the girls looked at him as we passed them. He explained that there were several places to eat nearby as well as coffee places, so I had a lot of options. Breanna already invited me to eat with her today. I nodded and we went back to the desk where he showed me a little about the computer and tablet, explaining their uses for the company as I tapped at the keyboard of the fancy Apple desktop. “There is also a laptop in our office for you to work on. If you want to do that today and kind of learn everything, that would be good. We can order in for lunch.”

“I am going out with Bre to celebrate the first day,” I explained with a small smile as he nodded.

“Of course,” Brent said as he looked at the open door. “Want to work in here?”

“Sure,” I agreed. I would likely be up and down asking them questions, so I grabbed my cup and walked inside. I got set up at the small but comfortable desk as Brent leaned over me to show me what to do, making me blush as his brother looked on. This was going to be hard but I was just a shy girl from Tennessee, nothing they would be interested in. Besides, they were my bosses and that was against the rules.

I did an order with him watching me, telling me that I seemed to get it so far. Brent told me to ask if I had any questions at all and I nodded as he made his way back to his space. I went through the next one slowly but successfully with a small smile as I hit send. The guys turned on some music at a low volume and I liked how it seemed to lighten the air in here, since I could sense that they were both stressed out.

I looked around here and there, noticing some pictures on the shelves. I wondered if they had girlfriends and then remembered what Google told me about them. They were players, well-known on the party scene. At least, they were before they took over the company. That had to be a shock for these guys after what I’d read. Brent looked to be the more responsible one while Brandon had an air of mischief about him.

“How long have you been in New York?” Brandon asked as I licked my lips and looked up at him.

“Four years. I started with Ames back home and decided to try something new when they expanded. It’s a shame they closed but I was lucky to hear about this.” Brent nodded and gave me a look across the office. I would be bringing home about eighteen dollars an hour and since my place was rent controlled, I’d make it just fine. I couldn’t go crazy or anything but I’d live just fine. I was used to simple, growing up in Franklin.

“It’s good that you stayed. A lot of people don’t find it to their liking and go back home.” Brent nodded as I shrugged.

“It’s so different here that I love it. Mama worries, but I am used to that.” I smiled at the mention of my sweet mother, excited to see her.

“If you don’t mind me asking, where is the rest of your family?” Brent asked, seeming to be the one that talked the most.

“Oh, Daddy died in a warehouse accident ten years ago, and their parents were both older and passed before that. I have an aunt and an uncle, but they left Tennessee to raise families. People get busy.” I said as I looked at the computer. “I’m sorry about your father. It’s sad what happened.”

“It was a shock,” Brandon said as I pressed my lips together.

“We are trying to figure this place out and take care of our mother and sister. It’s pretty crazy,” Brent offered as I smiled sympathetically at him. “Sometimes, I don’t know what he was thinking.”

“He trusted you boys. He was aware that you could handle it and from the looks of things, he left you a successful company. I understand it must be hard being so young and stepping into his shoes, though,” I told them as I sent another order after reading it. I didn’t mention that I’d done a search for them on Google and found out about their wild past. I wasn’t one to judge too much, though I knew that I was not their kind of girl. I’d seen pictures.

We worked through the morning, and soon Breanna was texting me about lunch. I told the twins that I’d see them in an hour and grabbed my purse to leave. Lord, they were hot. I needed some fresh air.

Breanna took me to a deli and asked me all about the job after buying me lunch. I told her what I could and looked at her. “The guys seem nice.”

“They have a rep but I think overall they are. Their dad was a good man.” She looked sad for a moment. “They look a lot like him.” She smiled at me. “They are gorgeous and there is two of them!” She giggled sweetly, too much like me to say much more than that. Breanna had a boyfriend of two years and was devoted to him. I dated a boy back in school but it wasn’t serious and I’d never slept with him. Moving here overwhelmed me so I hadn’t dated at all, even though there had been some interest from men. They found my accent cute.

My new bosses were city boys through and through, and though they might be charming, I’d never let my thoughts about them out of my mind.

CHAPTER 19

Brandon

I looked at Brent as the door closed and let out my breath. “That girl is so sweet and innocent.”

“That she is,” he agreed and glanced at the clock. “Want to go to lunch after I take care of these emails?”

“Sure,” I agreed as he read the screen and typed something. I knew that he was going to hold back from this even though that little drawl of Jane’s turned me on. She was nothing like the others but that was part of the appeal to me. In about fifteen minutes, he got up and I followed him to the elevator to hit our favorite deli. I crossed the street and looked over to see Jane and her friend walking back to work

The dress hugged her curves well as she walked, laughing at something the other girl said. Jane wasn’t skinny but she was not overweight either. She was only about five foot six and she reminded me of one of the pin up girls you see at places. I didn’t like a woman too skinny anyway, since I liked to have something to grab or smack. The idea of smacking Jane’s ass made me harden a little and I looked away.

“That is not Tracy and Veronica,” Brent said beside me as I nodded. I looked away every time I saw Tracy in the building, knowing too much about her. I didn’t make it obvious after what Veronica told us but I tried not to be overly friendly to everyone to begin with. I was still trying to figure out my role here completely and I tended to follow Brent’s lead at the office.

He was polite but not too friendly. He did things for the staff on more of a low-key level, excluding our assistants. I knew that he struggled with that though. We entered the deli, running into some friends that we ate with. They were still living our old lives and we caught up with them before excusing ourselves to get back to work.

I felt some resentment towards everything that happened as we walked back. I missed Dad, my former life, and the relaxation that I used to have even when he was pushing us. Now we were learning how to run his company and trying to take care of our family with the little time that we had during the day. I fucked off more than my brother and knew that, not listening when Dad suggested college to both of us. I think that Brent was considering it before Dad died and he still could, but with what time? Now that we were both working so much, I didn’t see time for too much unless my brother wanted to study online late at night.

I knew that things might calm down after the holidays, but this as one of the most successful shipping companies in the world. We had many regular clients and the office was rarely dead, no matter what time of year it was. I remembered the hours that Dad spent at the office even when it was established, though somehow, he managed to work time in with both his family and his wife. “It’s hard to believe that Trevor and the guys are still doing the same thing, isn’t it?” Brent asked as I glanced at him.

“In some ways. They are just twenty-two as we are.” I shrugged as he took a slow breath. “Do you miss it?”

“Of course, I do. We were living that life up until the night he died and it was a great one. I have to wonder if we’d have done it forever, though,” Brent glanced at me as we walked into the building. “It would have gotten boring eventually, right? We’d settle down like Dad did: get married, have a family, or whatever.”

“That sounds like the future, not now. I am having trouble wrapping my mind around this sometimes,” I muttered in a soft voice as we walked across the lobby to the elevators. Brent smirked at me with a weary gaze in his eyes as we leaned against the back wall of the car and took the ride up.

Jane was sitting at her desk and working at her computer as we walked up and I took in those big eyes of hers. They begged for me to touch her, take her like I had the girls before her. I wanted to fuck the innocence right out of her, making those eyes beg for more as I blinked. She looked up as she sipped from her cup, smiling at us as she set it down.

“You found the good deli,” Brent told her as she glanced at the cup and laughed.

“Yeah, thanks to Bre. I don’t know this side of town too well, but I reckon I will soon enough.” She glanced at the office door and then back at us.

“Did you want me to keep working out here?” Jane asked as Brent looked at me.

“How confident do you feel on the orders?” His question was kind, and Jane blushed a bit.

“I think I’m fine. Maybe leave the door open?” She suggested with a sweet smile as my brother laughed.

“Done.” Brent replied as we walked inside and left it wide open. We took our places and started working, playing a station on Pandora low so we could hear if Jane needed us. I kept from talking about her as we worked, keeping it to general business as I grinned behind my desk. He looked at me a few times, shaking his head as he noticed the look in my eyes. “Stop it,” he spoke softly as I laughed and glanced at the door.

The day ended at five, and we walked out with her, offering Jane a ride to her place as she grinned and waved her hand. “I’ll catch the bus, but thank you. I’m expecting my mama to be there with supper ready.”

We watched her walk to the stop and get on the bus for a moment as Brent narrowed his eyes. “I’ve never met a girl like her before.”

“Mom would want to eat her right up,” I told him as he laughed and nodded. “We should tell them about Christmas since Mom would love to fawn all over them.” We shared a long look.

“The first Christmas, though. Would that be too much? I know that we’ll have a ton of family over already, but would Mom be up for it?” Brent wondered aloud as we walked to the car. I knew that it was insane to consider this idea at all, but something about Jane touched both of us…well, besides her sweet drawl and hot body. She just seemed to need a family for the holidays and that was Mom’s specialty.

Brent walked into the house first and inhaled the scent of roast chicken. “That smells so good.” He said as we looked into the kitchen to see Mom helping with dinner.

“You’re home for dinner!” She came and hugged both of us before telling us to wash up for dinner.

We all sat down as Ashley tried to text before Mom told her to put her phone down. We talked about Christmas Eve dinner and the following day, during which family would be in and out. It was going to be busy and emotional for all of us and I looked at Mom for a long moment. “Mom, are you sure about all of this?”

“I know that I could spend it with just you three, but we never did that before. Dad always wanted the family here and I am not going to change that this year,” she looked at me with a soft smile. “I’ll feel better having people around. It doesn’t mean that I’ll miss him any less, you know.”

“We’re just making sure that you’re okay,” Brent told her as he reached out for her hand.

“I know,” she replied as Ashley looked on with wide eyes. She was having a hard time with Dad’s death and we were all worried about her. Mom told her that she could bring her boyfriend to ease her pain and made us promise to be nice to him. We both grumbled about it but knew that Ashley needed everything that she could have to get through this tough day.

After we finished dinner, Ashely disappeared upstairs and Mom brought us into the living room. “I am going to be in the area doing a little shopping for Friday tomorrow. Can I take you handsome boys to lunch?”

“That would be great, Mom. Come in any time since you’ll end up talking to the entire floor,” Brent teased her as I laughed. “Is Ash coming with you?”

“If she’s awake, I’ll try to drag her along,” she smiled as we looked at each other. We stayed up talking for a while, enjoying the quiet time with her and trying not to think about work. It would be here soon enough and it was nice to relax for a change and just stay up talking.

Looking back, we hadn’t done that enough with Mom before this. We were always busy. Now that Dad was gone, it made me appreciate these moments so much more. We finally went to bed, knowing that we’d be tired in the morning but happy to have time to talk to her.

CHAPTER 20

Brent

We dragged ourselves in the following morning and grabbed coffee at the small stand just outside the door. I had the idea to grab a cafe mocha for Jane, since girls seemed to like those kinds of drinks. I added it to the order, shrugging when Brent gave me a curious look. “It’s a nice thing to do,” I defended my action as he raised an eyebrow.

I told Brent not to entertain any ideas about Jane, but she was gorgeous in a much different way than Cecile and Veronica was. They were experienced and oozed sensuality, particularly Veronica. She was as free a woman as any that I’d ever met and that was saying a lot.

Jane was the sweet, country girl and I had half a mind to think she was still a virgin. I didn’t doubt that men hit on her all the time with those eyes and her curvy body, but Jane didn’t seem to be the one-night-stand kind of girl. That made her a great assistant for us but I didn’t like the fact that I was attracted to her, as well as my brother.

I carried the coffee into the elevator and smiled at her when she glanced up at me. “I brought you a coffee,” I offered as she smiled widely. “I hope you like mochas.”

“I do. They’re my favorite. Thank you.” A flush spread over her cheeks as I observed her and Brandon walked up behind me.

“You’re welcome to work in the office today if you’d like.” He offered with a grin as I glanced back at him.

“Sure. I can ask questions that way since I hit a few snags yesterday.” She grinned and we walked inside of the office as she gathered her stuff together. We took our seats and she came to sit at the smaller desk with her coffee in hand, filling the air with the scent of chocolate in addition to our strong brew.

“This was your father’s office?” Jane asked hesitantly as we worked and I glanced at Brandon.

“It was. Hence the family pictures that we left up. It makes me think about him.” I smiled as I glanced around.

“It’s a great space,” she offered as I nodded. “Did you come here as kids?”

“Here and there. Once we got older, other things distracted us,” Brandon told her with a smirk on his face. She looked at him and frowned for a moment as I watched the wheels turning in her head. It would be easy to google us and see our story, something I wouldn’t be surprised about at all. People did it all the time.

Jane returned to her work, entering order after order with a few pauses as she figured something out. She’d think deeply about what she needed to do and smile brightly when she figured it out. I sensed that she was an independent woman hidden in a sweet southern girl and it turned me on more. I was seeing a couple of girls when I could, but nobody special and I craved a girl with a heart and a mind.

Wait…what? Was the innocent assistant more appealing to me than the past two?

We worked through the morning, and she got us all some more coffee for the break before we got back into that. We asked her questions, and she spoke lovingly of her father and other family members that were gone now. She talked about Tennessee, admitting that she lived in a smaller town than she first said.

Just after twelve, there was a tap at the door and our mother walked into the room. We looked at her as she looked around the space with emotional eyes for a moment before they took in the three of us. “Oh, hello there.” She walked right over to Jane and offered her hand, introducing herself.

“It’s nice to meet you, Ma’am.” Jane smiled brightly as she shook her hand. “I’m Jane Drury and I just started as their assistant. It was kind of being in the right place at the right time.”

“They didn’t mention another assistant. It’s wonderful to meet you. Where are you from?” Mom asked her and I could see her tucking Jane under her wing and taking care of her already.

“I moved here from Tennessee about four years ago. I came with a company that sadly closed, and I was lucky enough to hear about this position.” She glanced at us with a flush on her face as Brandon leaned back.

“She’s coming to lunch with us,” he said under his breath as I nodded.

The four of us left about fifteen minutes later, with Mom leading Jane ahead of us as she walked towards her favorite Thai place. We watched them bond as they chatted and Brandon let his eyes roam over Jane’s body. “I don’t know if this is good or not, Brent. Mom is obviously crazy about her and she’s going to be at our house for Christmas with that beautiful smile.”

“I know. I know,” I assured him as Mom turned towards the restaurant, at which point I stepped forward to open the door for them. Mom smiled at me as she and Jane ducked inside while Brandon slipped past me with his obnoxious laugh. I followed them to a table in the corner and sat beside Jane as Brandon sat by Mom. We ordered and sipped water as Mom brought up Christmas and asked if Jane had plans.

“My mama is in town. We were just going to have a small dinner at my apartment,” Jane replied as I watched Mom shake her head slowly.

“Oh, honey. We’re having a big feast at our house with lots of family, and you’re both welcome to come on over. It’s just the two of you?” She asked as Jane nodded.

“Most of the others have passed away.” She frowned when she realized what she said and pressed her lips together. “I’m sorry for your loss, Mrs. Moyen.”

“It’s Brenda, Jane. Thank you. It’s been a few months but this time of year, and the first one since he passed…it’s a lot to take in. I am filling my house with people and holiday cheer to remind me of holidays past.” Mom smiled.

“I…I can mention it to my Mama and see what she says. That sounds…incredible.” Jane smiled as she glanced at me. “Do you guys mind? I don’t know if you want your assistant hanging around on the holidays.” Jane said slowly as I grinned. I hated the idea for reasons that I’d never admit to but I wanted to make Mom happy.

“No, not at all. It’ll be a crazy afternoon,” I assured her as she smiled gratefully. “I might want to go to your place for some quiet time.” I winked at Mom as she narrowed her eyes playfully at me, making Brandon laugh.

We enjoyed lunch and it was good to see Mom smiling so much. She came back into the building with us and chatted with people as we headed back to our office. Jane watched as she came inside and giggled. “Your mom is too sweet.”

“She likes you. Over the years, she’s taken in a lot of the staff as family and vice-versa,” Brandon told her as he looked at me. We talked about the upcoming holiday and we told her about some of the more eccentric family members and a couple of the wild kids that would be tearing around the place. Jane laughed and sent in an order as she mused that her mom might enjoy it. She was alone in Tennessee apart from some friends and Jane was trying to talk her into moving here.

Jane told us about the holidays when her family was still around and how festive they were. They went caroling around the town and looked at Christmas lights as a big group on a planned night. There was coffee and hot chocolate at the local shop with treats for the kids. Emotion played across her face as she spoke and I knew why Mom invited her to come to our house now. Mom could see that she needed it at some point today.

We left at five, since everyone decided as a group that it was the week of Christmas and we all deserved it. That wasn’t a direct order from Brandon or me but we agreed. Tomorrow there was a catered lunch and gift exchange for those that signed up. Dad always used to enjoy them and I felt sad as I shut the light off to go home. He’d never see one again and in all the rush of taking over, neither my brother or I signed up for it.

We talked as we left, going to a shop after we saw that Jane made it to the bus safely. It was a coffee shop on the way home and we bought gift cards for everyone, enough to where they could buy several coffees. We grinned as the cute girl behind the counter helped us to get them into festive envelopes as she batted her eyelashes at us a few times, trying to ask us out with the gentle hint that she was done with her shift soon. I politely thanked her, cutting Brandon’s question off as she handed us the red bag of cards with a wistful smile. “She wanted a sandwich, Brent.” Brandon told me as I rolled my eyes.

“She was eighteen if that.” I got into the car and started the engine.

“Didn’t you go through a series of coffee house girls for a while?” Brandon reminded me as I chuckled. I had but that was before…before I was running a company and responsible for my family. That seemed like a long time ago.

We went home and left the bag in the SUV as we walked inside. There was some chili in the kitchen and we fixed bowls of it with the thick bread fresh from the over, joining Mom and Ashley at the table. Mom told her about our sweet, new assistant as Ashley looked at us with an eyebrow raised. “You couldn’t get a middle-aged woman or even a guy, could you?” Her voice was sarcastic as Brandon tossed a chunk of bread her way. Ashley seemed sullener by the day lately and I knew it was the upcoming holiday. Out of the four of us, they had a special bond that should have never been broken.

“It was opportunity. We took it,” I replied as she rolled her eyes. “Mom invited her to Christmas.”

“There will be a lot of people here, so it won’t make that much of a difference,” Ashley spoke slowly, her tone saying that a million people wouldn’t replace Dad. She was right, though we wanted Mom to have her day. Mom gave her a long, sad look as she stirred her chili before taking a bite.

We all went to bed later that night, Brent and I readying ourselves for two more days at the office before having some time off. We were looking forward to it after working so much. Tomorrow would be casual with the lunch, since it leads people to relax a little more and hang out together. Dad didn’t mind and neither did we. The staff was great since we took over, helping us in so many ways. We wanted them to have some fun today.

CHAPTER 21

Jane

I walked into work with a giant bag of the cookies that Mama made yesterday while I was at work. She also made some bean soup for supper, which was my favorite of all time. She’d instructed me to plate the cookies on something nice for the luncheon, since there was going to be food out all day. A few people looked at me as I stepped into the elevator and I smiled wryly as I clutched the plastic bag. The office door was open when I approached my desk and I set the bag down with a grateful sigh, craving a hot cup of coffee.

“What’s that?” Brandon asked as he stepped out, making me jump.

“Mama sent cookies to the party,” I said shyly, trying to catch my breath as he chuckled.

“You carried that on the bus?” He asked as he eyed the full bag with a raised brow. “That’s so heavy.” Brandon stepped forward and searched my desk with his eyes. “Let me have your phone, Jane.”

I licked my lips as I reached over for my purse, all too aware of his proximity to me. I slipped my hand inside and found the heavy phone, handing it to him as our eyes locked. Jesus, but this man was handsome. He grinned as he took it, sliding the screen on and working quickly with his hands before he handed it back to me. “I put my cell in there. If you have something like that to carry across town, let me know. We can give you a ride.” Our eyes remained locked as I felt my heart jump into my throat, feeing my attraction to him bubble to the surface before footsteps sounded behind us. “So, what kind of cookies are those?”

“I…ah…there’s a few different kinds. She was busy while I was at work,” I smiled as I glanced behind him to see Brent looking curiously at us. “Want dibs? She made enough to feed the entire building.” I left them with the bag and went to make coffee, taking slow breaths as I watched it drip into the cup. What happened back there? I knew that Brandon was hot as was his brother, but I never felt it hit me quite like that in the past. Of course, he’d never been that close to me and I sensed that he was a little wild, rough around the edges. Brent seemed to have a fine line of control but in that moment, I knew that Brandon wanted me and I couldn’t deny that I wanted him.

I wanted them both.

I composed myself and went back to my desk, taking the bag of cookies to the conference room. I glanced around at the table that was already being filled up with things to nibble on, smiling shyly at the women working. “Is there a plate that I could use? I have some cookies.”

“Some cookies?” A blonde asked me sarcastically as she glanced at the bag in my hands. She looked around and found two large, festive plates and brought them over. She was gorgeous, as were many of the girls that worked here and I knew that she knew where I worked by the way her gaze took me in slowly, curiously. “Let’s get those onto a plate. I’m Melanie. I don’t think that we’ve met yet?” She reached out a perfectly manicured hand and I shook it as I forced a smile on my face.

“Jane Drury. It’s my first week here so I haven’t made the rounds yet.” We shook hands as she observed me with a shrewd gaze.

“You work for Brent and Brandon?” She asked, clearly aware of the fact.

“Yes, I’m helping them through the busy season.” Another woman came over and opened the bag with a sharp look at Melanie, and I helped her plate them as Melanie finally started to help us.

“These look delicious,” the older woman said as she lined them in the middle of the green plate. “I’m Barbara. Jane is your name?” She offered her hand with a genuine smile on her face.

“Yes, it is.” I replied as I took one of the thick chocolate chip cookies and added it into her neat circle.

“Did you make these?” Barbara asked as I laughed nervously.

“My mama did when I was at work. She’s visiting for the holiday.” I finished that plate and then added the remaining cookies to the red plate beside it, noticing that Melanie was gone. I glanced across the room to see her talking to some other girls, her eyes lit up as she stole a glance at me. I knew they were gossiping. I sighed and Barbara touched my arm gently.

“They are all foaming at the mouth for your supervisors. It’s as if they forget that we all work under them.” She giggled as I looked at her and shook her head. “The boys have a reputation and it is just more to talk about around here.” Her voice was soft enough that nobody else could hear us talking and I frowned. I knew that there were two assistants before me from what Breanna told me, as well as the fact that there were rumors about an affair between both and the twins. I didn’t know if I believed it but they were handsome.

I made sure that the cookies were on the table ready to go before I went back to my desk. I sipped my coffee at my desk and glanced towards the door as I wondered where I was working today. It wasn’t going to be as busy as day as the others had been with the all-day party, but there was still time to get some orders in.

“Want to work in here?” Brent called out as I licked my lips and stood up. I walked into the office and he grinned at me as he held a cookie in his hand. “These are fantastic.”

“Yeah, I ate a lot of them last night.” I smiled as I walked over to my desk, smoothing my red skirt as I sat down. “I always gain twenty pounds when she comes to stay with me.”

“I like your curves,” Brandon offered as I blushed, sitting back to look at me openly.

“Thanks,” I replied as I turned to look at the laptop, feeling the electricity in the air all over again from before. I looked at Brent, seeing him looking at me with some of the heat that his brother was vocal about as I turned away. I was in trouble and I needed to find a way out…soon.

We grabbed more coffee on break and stopped in the conference room as the guys looked over the spread. I imagined that they worked out every moment they weren’t at work, from what I’d seen of their perfect bodies as they filled a plate with some pastries and fruit. I got some fruit and walked back to the desk as Melanie watched me leave the room, leaving the guys talking to some men in the corner. I knew that I needed this job and I had to ignore that feelings that I was having. I wasn’t the kind of girl to do anything with any boss of mine and I was a virgin to boot. Did I think that I had anything to offer them?

I went inside the office and sat down to eat as I entered some more orders into the computer, taking slow bites of the sweet fruit. “You haven’t been introduced around her, have you?” Brent’s voice made me jump. “I never took you around for that formality.”

“We were busy. It’s fine. I met a couple women this morning,” I offered as I glanced at him. “There will be time for that after the holidays.”

“Who?” Brent asked as I licked my lips. He wasn’t the flirt that his brother was but he had some power over me with his intense gaze.

“Barbara and Melanie.” He grimaced at the words and I tilted my head.

“Melanie is a piece of work. Just ignore her as best as you can. She’s a good worker and Dad was smart to hire her, but she has her flaws as a person,” he told me as I nodded. He gazed at the open door and licked his lips as I watched. “She’s always wanted Brandon and I, but we never went there with her. Now that we work here, she’s been more aggressive about it.”

“Yeah, I get that.” He looked at me with intense eyes. “I mean…look at both of you. She’s a beautiful girl and it makes sense that she wants you.”

“Is she?” He asked as I nodded. “I hadn’t noticed.” Brandon walked in and Brent walked over to his desk as his brother raved about how much food he was going to eat today.

“Jane, if you come on Friday there will be a ton of food there as well. Monica and Mom cook all night Christmas Eve and we eat all day Friday.” He boasted as Brent looked at him.

“Oh, that. Mama said she’d enjoy that.” In actuality, Mama was very touched by the story I told her about them losing their father and the invitation to Christmas, immediately agreeing to it. She felt like she might help Brenda through the pain of missing her husband somehow, having been through it. “Your mother is so nice for asking.”

“She likes people to be with a family on Christmas. Always did. I’m not surprised that she isn’t changing her game this year,” Brent replied as Brandon nodded. “I don’t know what to expect from the day. She might break down and cry at any part of it or she’ll soak in everyone around her.” He glanced at me. “Mom is a strong woman and she’s cried more to herself than anybody else. We’re all there for her but to be honest, I think that she’s worried about my sister.”

“How old is she?” I asked as Brandon sipped his coffee.

“Sixteen. They were close.” I nodded as my face softened. I was close to my father as well and losing him was devastating. Maybe I could offer her some comfort as well. “I think that Ashley would gladly stay in her room all weekend but Mom is letting her boyfriend come over. We get to meet him for the first time. Can’t wait.”

We got to work and there was a shout outside that the food was here and Brandon rubbed his stomach with a wide smile. I didn’t know where he put it all as I laughed and ran a hand through my hair. Brandon walked out while Brent waited for me, walking behind me as we made our way to the conference room. I knew that he didn’t want me to feel uncomfortable I smiled as we walked together. Brent was a good man and sure to have made his father proud.

I wondered if he would be the one that would take my innocence gently while his brother ravaged me. My face flushed at the images and I coughed as I walked, making Brent look at me. The conference room was half full of people and the door wide open as Brent and Brandon walked to the front of the room, while I hung back. Brent smiled assumingly at me as he gestured for me to join them and I widened my eyes before I looked down and walked forward. They spoke about the great staff and their gratitude they felt for all of them with all the hard work. Brent said that he knew that his father would love to be here with everyone and I felt the emotions in the room as I pressed my lips together. “I realized that we hadn’t formally introduced our new assistant, Jane. She just joined us with a stroke of good luck and I’d like you all to welcome her to M&P.”

I was shocked when people stepped forward to shake my hand, welcome me to the company, and just say hello. Many of them were kind and cordial but there was the group of women that were icy and beautiful as they looked at me frostily from across the room. I knew that we would never be friends, feeling fine with that if they didn’t talk bad about me around the building. Breanna walked in just after the speech and came over to hug me as she smiled brightly. She always made me feel better with her positive attitude and I grinned at her. “Can you believe all of this food? It’s like Christmas dinner.”

We filled a plate with the meats and vegetables, grabbing a water before we went to her desk to eat. I’d had enough of being the center of attention and wanted to just relax. “They introduced me before you came in. It was so embarrassing.” My voice was low as I glanced around.

“That was smart. People gossip like crazy around here and I’m sure the lies were flying, so maybe knowing who you are will slow it down.” Breanna gave me a sympathetic look as she took a bite of turkey. “It’s a really good job, Jane. I swear to that.” She chuckled. “I can’t imagine being so close to those two all day, though. They’re so gorgeous.”

“They are but I’m me. There’s nothing impressive about that.” I shrugged as I took a bite of the mashed potatoes and gravy as she shook her head.

“Have you seen yourself?” Breanna asked me as I gazed at her. “That sweet, country girl look is gorgeous, Jane. The bitches here are jealous.” She leaned over to whisper to me as I giggled. We finished the meal talking about Christmas and what we were going to do, though I hid my plans to go to The Moyens. That was a tough one to explain in my mind and I was still making sense of what was happening with them myself. I told her that I’d be at the restaurant with Mama to meet her later and headed back to work after a tight hug.

We met Breanna and her boyfriend at a diner and Mama talked to them about the holiday. I told her not to mention our plans and she nodded slowly with a frown as she looked curiously at me. I told her that some of the people at the office enjoyed gossip a lot and I wanted to avoid that for the time being.

We worked a half day on Thursday and I went home to have Christmas Eve dinner with Mama. We enjoyed roast chicken and some of the same vegetables that I’d eaten today but everything that Mama made tasted better than anything else. We prayed for the family that was no longer with us and I looked at her across the table before taking a bite. “Would you move here, Mama?”

She looked at me thoughtfully before looking around the apartment. It was small but quaint and I knew that she was thinking about her house with the big front porch back home. “I don’t know, Jane. I’ve always lived there in that town. We have so many memories there.” She gave me a sad smile. “I want you to move back sometimes, but I know that you’re doing well here.”

“I like it here. If you came here, we could get a bigger place. Maybe a little house somewhere,” I pushed as she smiled. My apartment was a two bedroom but there wasn’t a lot of space in it.

“I’ll mull it over. It’s so busy here for me, Jane. I’m not young like you,” she teased me as I laughed.

“Mom, you’re forty-seven. That isn’t old,” I told her as she grinned and laughed with me. We exchanged gifts by my small tree in the corner before watching an old movie on television, falling asleep on the couch under a blanket.

CHAPTER 22

Brent

I dressed the next morning in dark jeans and a green Henley for breakfast, knowing that people were already arriving. We’d had a small family night last night, opening gifts and just being together. Mom was emotional but she held the tears at bay for the most part.

I knew that today was going to be busy and distracting, thinking of Mom as I ran a hand through my hair. It was longer than I preferred but I would deal with it later as I thought about Jane arriving in a few hours. Something had changed between her and us; both Brent and me. With other girls, it wasn’t as intimidating but I didn’t think that she could handle us both. I didn’t think she could handle one of us with her glaring innocence, but she was beautiful and attracted to both of us.

I knew that we’d be busy with all the guests and I wouldn’t have too much time alone with her, but she was going to be here. I was curious to meet Jane’s mother and see if they looked alike, or if she might take after her father more. I wondered if her sweet nature was more like her mom and I grinned at the impending arrival. I slipped my feet into some black socks and headed downstairs, insisting on comfort over formality. I didn’t want to wear a suit all day with uncomfortable shoes, so I got away with this for now. I dressed more for dinner later, something that Dad gave in to when we were young and argumentative.

I headed down the stairs to find some aunts and cousins running around as Mom finished the breakfast casseroles. They were still in the oven and Ashely cooked some bacon and sausage on the stove, since we gave Monica the weekend off. She did a lot of the prep for us throughout the week. I went in and poured some coffee, offering to help as Brandon walked in dressed like me. The difference was that his Henley was a darker red, and Mom smiled at us. “Toast would be great,” she said before I grabbed some bread and started sliding it into the toaster. Brandon got his own coffee and we got all the food together and set up buffet style on the counter.

I felt the absence of Dad at the table as we started to pray. It wasn’t a habit other than holidays, something left from Mom’s strict Catholic upbringing but I listened closely today. I wondered if he knew that we missed him. I wondered if he could see us as I let the idea of the driver that killed him enjoying his holidays cross my mind briefly. He was facing some charges for driving drunk but we all knew that it wouldn’t make up for our loss.

The kids lightened the mood, chattering about Santa and their presents as I watched them. There were two more sets of twins on my mom’s side of the family and it always made me pity her and Dad as I took in how much fucking energy they had. I had to pour another cup of coffee to get whatever I had back from when I woke up this morning, as we sat with our uncles and talked about the company. Everyone was supportive of us taking over and there were pats on the back and hugs from everyone that arrived.

I was on the back patio with my older cousin Nate when I glanced up to see dark curls and a wide smile. There was a woman that looked a lot like Jane standing beside her as Mom hugged them both and introduced them to the relatives that were all over the house at this point. Jane was wearing what looked like black slacks and a red blouse and her hair was loose around her shoulders as she shook someone’s hand. “Who is that? She’s gorgeous.” My eyes snapped back to Nate, fifteen and full or hormones as I remembered being that age.

“Calm down, Romeo. She’s our new assistant Jane and way too old for you,” I told him as I ruffled his hair, making him step away from her and tell me to stop.

“Damn, you hire girls that look like that?” He asked as I nearly choked on the beer that I was sipping. He had no idea what shit we pulled at the office.

“It just worked out that way. I’m her boss, Nate. Chill out.” He looked at me with wide brown eyes as I shook my head. “I’m going to go say hello.” I walked in and Jane looked up to see me as our eyes locked. She looked beautiful with a dark liner on her lids and a nude stain to her lips as she smiled and I stepped up to her. “Jane. Merry Christmas,” I told her as she introduced me to her beautiful mother, Chelsea. They both looked a little bit flustered and I knew that the crowd was intimidating.

“Your house is gorgeous,” her mom told me as I smiled and thanked her.

“I think my place would fit into the kitchen,” Jane quipped as I smiled at her. Brandon stepped into the kitchen and took in Jane with a hungry gaze before she noticed him, introducing her mom to him. The woman looked from him to me as she fanned herself.

“My word, you are handsome,” she said as Mom laughed.

“They look just like their father,” she said, sadness in her voice as Chelsea hugged her. They spoke softly to one another as Jane smiled and looked at us. We went outside to the balcony after she met everyone and her mom was caught up with the aunts and she sipped the glass of wine in her hand as she looked over the city.

“This is gorgeous. I can’t imagine what it must look like at night,” Jane said softly as the wind blew her hair into her face. I reached out and tucked it behind her ear as she stared at me for a moment, letting out her breath slowly. “Brent…”

“We would take care of you,” I promised her as she frowned. “You’re something special, Jane.”

“You’re my supervisor. You guys are my bosses,” she told me as the door behind is slid open.

“What am I interrupting?” Brandon asked smoothly as he moved to stand beside her, smiling crookedly. He looked at me and then back to her as he raised an eyebrow. “What’s going on?”

Jane sighed and looked back over the buildings as she leaned forward. I knew that she was confused. Hell, I was, too. “I am not the kind of girl you boys would like.”

“Says who?” Brandon challenged her as I groaned and she rested her head in her hands.

“Bran,” I said as he moved close to her against the railing.

“You feel what’s between us, Jane. I know you do.” I stood beside her, shame flooding me. Jane was too sweet for this, too innocent.

“I work for you. I’m…nothing can happen.” I heard the urgency in her voice as Brandon only moved closer, his eyes locked on hers.

“You say that now, Jane.” He brushed his lips against her cheek as something filled me, pressing close to her before he walked through the door that led to our room. She slumped forward and dropped her face into her hands.

“He’s so damned straightforward,” she mumbled before looking at me. “Why? You have women at your feet everywhere you go. Why me?” Her eyes narrowed as I swallowed thickly. “Is it an assistant thing? Do you have to conquer all of them?”

“What have you heard?” I asked as she sighed.

“You had other girls. People say that you were sleeping with them and then poof. They were gone.” She looked at me, long and hard. “I need this job. I need the money. I can’t risk that because you and Brandon are hot as hell, because this is my future. I can’t lose my future just because of some attraction.” She turned and walked into the house, and I watched as she got some more wine before she disappeared into the living room. I wanted her more than I’d ever wanted anybody right now and I licked my lips before turning to look over the city again. The sun was setting and the lights were coming on, reminding me of Dad and his values and business sense. He would never let this happen; would have never let it happen with the other assistants. I knew that there was something more with Jane, a tug that was going to be hard as hell to ignore.

We had to, though. We had no choice.

Everyone was called inside for dinner, plates loaded with food as voices rose in chatter. There were people seated at the long formal table, Jane and her mom squeezed in next to my mother as they laughed. I sat with my brother and some of the cousins in the kitchen as I kept an eye on Jane, Brandon following my gaze several times. We looked at each other, expressing the need that we felt as well as the urgency to stay away from her. I was going to go off on him for what he did outside as soon as I had the chance, irritated at his bold move.

Jane skillfully avoided us all night, getting to know everyone else in the house as she made the rounds. I saw her talking with Ashley and her boyfriend, a tall dark-haired kid with a rogue look in his blue eyes. At least, that’s what I saw. He sat close to her, his arm slung protectively around Ashley’s shoulders as she talked closely with Jane, smiling as she seemed to draw comfort from her.

Everyone left in groups, hugs and holiday wishes echoing through the house. I said goodbye on auto pilot, hugging everyone warmly as I accepted their well wishes. I kissed Chelsea’s cheek and thanked her for coming before looking down at Jane’s impassive face as she shuffled out of the door.

I grabbed another beer and went upstairs, sitting on the bed as I looked out of the window. Brandon stepped in and I didn’t look at him before speaking. “What the hell was that outside?”

“I barely touched her,” he said as I glared at him. “After everything else we’ve done, that was nothing.”

“We. Can’t. Touch. Her.” I said slowly as he looked at me. “She said that she doesn’t want that and I want to respect that. She isn’t like the others, Bran.”

“Have you seen the way that she looks at us? Those damn eyes make me want to kiss her senseless,” he murmured as I shook my head. “I kissed her cheek. That’s it.”

“That is where it ends. We have girls for that so use them. Not her. I don’t want to fuck up her future,” I said, ending the conversation with my tone. He stood for a moment before going to his own room and I leaned back against the pillows. The day was hitting me as I took a long tug from my beer, feeling the emotions well up inside of me.

There was a part of me that felt like Jane would be good for the hurt side of me; that she would soothe me.

CHAPTER 23

Brandon

We had the weekend off work and when we were with the family, Brent was in good spirits. I could see in his eyes that something was eating away at him though, particularly when Mom and Ashley talked about how sweet Jane was. She was under his skin and I frowned as I sipped my iced tea over lunch. We both wanted her and I saw the way that she looked at us, but Brent said that she told him no. We would never force ourselves on a girl.

I went out that Saturday, separate from Brent. I noticed that night when I walked in late that he wasn’t home yet and grinned, hoping that he was working whatever the hell was wrong with him out of his system. I wasn’t an insensitive asshole and I knew that he missed Dad as much as the rest of us did, and I would try and let this thing with Jane go. Damn it if she didn’t look at me like she wanted me to kiss her; to corrupt her. I knew he felt it as well, but Brent had more willpower than I did.

We woke up Sunday and had a lazy breakfast with Mom and Ashley downtown, sipping mimosas as we both tried to wake up. Brent had obviously tied one on last night by the circles under his eyes that Mom looked closely at before she gazed at me. “You boys okay?”

“Yeah, just parties last night. Long weekend and all, Mom.” Brent smiled at her as she nodded slowly and sipped her own drink. “We work too much to party like this all of the time. We wanted to live it up.” His tone suggested anything but that and I knew she noticed by the way her brows furrowed.

I fit in another girl Sunday evening, hanging out at her apartment in her bed as I fucked her every way that we could think of. It made me realize that the girls that I was choosing were all into this game of jumping from one bed to another, and it wasn’t as appealing as Jane’s innocent eyes.

Fuck me.

I got home and went to sleep for a few hours, waking up at the usual time for work. I sensed the tension in the air as we gulped coffee down and headed to the car, and I tried to focus on the busy day and getting in as much as we could this week. Things would slow down slightly, but there was a lot of catching up for everyone now.

It didn’t feel like we’d celebrated Christmas. I enjoyed family being there at the house but it didn’t have that warm feeling as it normally did for me. It felt empty and I knew who we were all missing. The sad look in Mom’s eyes despite all her mingling and the haunted expression on my sister’s face played through my mind over and over.

I also replayed what happened with Jane. It was so small compared to anything I did with any other girl this weekend, but the feeling of her soft skin against my rough lips was something that I’d never forget. We parked in the garage and went inside, being some of the first to arrive to the floor. We walked to the office and opened it up as got our computers set up in the quiet of the morning. I looked around at the pictures that were scattered around the room, thinking of past holidays and it hit me that he was gone. Dad was never coming back.

We got caught up on emails and company memos before opening the order software. We heard someone outside of the door and Brent raised an eyebrow as he stood and peered out. “Good morning, Jane. How was your weekend?” I heard a murmured response before he came back in, offering me a shrug as he sat back down.

Apparently, Jane was working at her desk today and every day that week. She was polite to us, and I still felt the heat every time that I walked past her and met her eyes before she looked away again, hating myself for what I did the other night. I couldn’t help myself, and I felt her shiver against me when I touched her, knowing that she liked it. I knew that she was different that Veronica and even Cecile, but I was okay with that. I wanted her to be different, and though I didn’t know how that would pan out, I wanted to see.

We had a three-day weekend after that for New Year’s and Brent, and I attended a party at a friend’s house, kissing and fucking god only knows who after midnight. I didn’t feel the same excitement that I had in the past, knowing that this was a whole different life. I made sure to take Mom to brunch with everyone on Sunday despite my hangover since all the emptiness that we were feeling had to be a million times worse for her. She smiled at us as we ate the breakfast fare and tried to look strong. She always went out of town for New Year’s with Dad, and this was the first time that she was home in many years. We knew that Ashley and the boyfriend stayed home with her, which was the only way that we’d go out. Mom kept up a steady chatter about the events coming up for Ashley and some things she had planned with friends as I sipped a beer and looked at Brent. Jane came up as well, and she remarked about how nice she and her mother were, watching as we both nodded. She knew the kind of girls that we hung out with generally, and while she was kind about them, we knew that wasn’t crazy about them as far as a future. We also knew that Mom was well-aware of the rules at work and would never encourage one of us to pursue her. That was no kind of example to set for the staff. I suppressed a shudder as I imagined her finding out what we’d been up to. We were always wild but acting the way that we did at work was risky, and something Dad would frown upon.

Brent drove us home and we watched some football in the living room until dinner, which was a rack of lamb that Monica prepared for us. I ate and joined in the conversation as I kept thinking about Jane and her soft skin, busted when Mom repeated my name. “What? Sorry, Mom. I guess I’m zoning out.”

She repeated that she would be close by on Wednesday and wanted to come in for lunch, and Ashley piped in that she wanted to go once she realized that Jane was invited. They bonded on Christmas, and I was surprised to hear that they kept in touch via text here and there. I looked at Brent, imagining lunch with them as he stared back with a dark gaze. I knew that he was a little sore with me for kissing her the way that I did, but I argued that it would be uncomfortable no matter what. There was a heat between all of us that was significant no matter how much he tried to ignore it. Maybe he was jealous that it wasn’t him that kissed her, and the image of the three of us in bed flashed through my mind as I pinched the bridge of my nose for a long moment. Holy hell, it was hot.

We headed home and went to bed early, though I just watched a movie mindlessly before finally falling asleep. I heard Brent’s on as well and assumed that he was watching his too. We weren’t as close this week as we normally were, feeling tension over the Jane situation. I needed to remedy that, but I closed my eyes and sighed as the television droned in the room at the soft volume that I had it set to.

I woke up and rushed to dress as I met Brent by the car, yawning as we drove in. He seemed tense, and I followed him into the building, making a beeline for coffee before I got started. I came in to see Brent reading the screen as I set a cup near him and raised an eyebrow at him. “What?”

“The big annual conference is coming up in a month. It is in Mazatlán this year at a resort,” he mused aloud as he raised his eyes to look at me. “I have an idea. We should invite Jane to attend it with us since assistants are encouraged, and I don’t think that she travels a lot.” I looked at him, knowing what he was getting at as our eyes locked. “I just want her to loosen up, and…if it turns into more, then I won’t complain. She’s under my skin.”

“Mine, too. Are you sure about this?” I asked him as I sat down across from him.

“I want to offer her the chance to escape at the very least. She seems so sheltered,” Brent murmured as I nodded. We had the means to take her places and we would. We heard her arrive outside and he called her name out as we watched each other.

“Yes?” Jane asked as she stepped into the doorway, wearing a loose pink skirt with a white blouse that looked stunning on her. Her black heels added some height to her and made her curves even more luscious.

“I just heard that there is a conference coming up in a month for us to attend. Most of the managers attend, and assistants are encouraged to as well. It is in Mazatlán at a beach resort. Would you be interested?” Brent asked her in a professional voice as her eyes widened.

“That sounds expensive.” Her voice was soft, and he smiled reassuringly at her.

“There’s a budget set aside for these things. Several people attend, and everything is there at the resort. Pools, a beach, spa, places to eat, and anything else that you can think of.” He grinned at her. “It’s a lot of fun. You should get a passport and join us.”

“I…I appreciate that. Thank you,” she replied as she blushed and ducked out of the office. Brent shook his head and emailed her the website to the resort, El Cid El Moro Beach. It was a great place, and we hoped that it would sway her.

We checked around the office to see who would be coming this year, finding that a lot of managers were interested. We needed a head count in about a week so see how many of our slots were filled, at which point spouses were welcome to come along. I had half a mind to invite Mom if there was space, but she might catch on to what we were up to with Jane. I pushed that idea to the back of my mind and started on the orders as Jane worked at her desk.

I went to get coffee at the break and leaned over Jane’s desk when I walked back by. “Did you see the resort?” I asked in a low voice as she stared at me with nervous eyes. Jane nodded, and I took in her flawless, pale skin slowly.

“It’s going to be a great time. I think you should go.” Jane licked her glossed lips and nodded again as I felt the tendrils of heat between us, knowing that she did as well. “Tell us by the middle of next week so we can make reservations.” I pushed up and grabbed my coffee before looking down at her. “You’re welcome to work in here with us anytime, you know.”

CHAPTER 24

Jane

I looked at the pictures of the hotel again once I knew that I was alone, marveling at the beauty of it. I rarely traveled, and this would be a new experience for me, paid for by the company to boot. I wondered if Breanna was going to attend, sending her a text to ask. That might help my decision because a trip like this with just Brent and Brandon to hang out with was intimidating.

I played back the night on the balcony again as I sighed. My phone chimed, and Breanna told me that she had plans with her boyfriend that weekend, encouraging me to go. She said it was a great time. I remembered standing between the brothers, feeling their heat wash over me as Brandon leaned close to me. His lips brushing my skin sent shivers down my spine even now, the heat off them lighting me on fire all over again. I’d never felt like that with the kisses from my old boyfriend and the idea of two men doing that to me frightened me. Brent didn’t so much as touch me that night, but I knew that I wanted him to before I abandoned them and made my way around the house with Mama.

She asked me if I was okay on the way home. I assured her that I was even though I was certain that she could see my confusion on my face. Would she encourage me to do this?

I told Brent that I had to focus on my career that night and meant it, but damn it if they didn’t draw me closer every time I was near them. I wanted them, and it went against everything right inside of me. If I went to this, could I stay away? I wasn’t the type to think that they wouldn’t get me my own room but in that atmosphere, the lines could blur easily. The beach, the pools, and the bars were all too beautiful, and I suspected that they set a romantic vibe, to say the least.

I kept to myself during the week, missing the banter in their office. I was surprised when Brenda and Ashley showed up on Wednesday at lunch time, surprised that I wasn’t expecting them. “Didn’t the boys tell you about lunch?” Their mom asked as I feigned forgetting about it. It would be difficult to explain the discomfort between the three of us. They walked into the office and chatted with the twins for a while as it set in that I was supposed to have lunch with them as before, only Ashley was here. She and I bonded on Christmas Day once I noticed how sad she looked and I told her a little bit about losing my own father. We sent texts and forth about her life and just advice that she was seeking from something of a sister figure.

I couldn’t say no. I liked them both too much so when the family walked out of the office, I grabbed my purse and tagged along. We went to an Italian place today and sat at a circular table, ordering waters, and looking at the menus. Brenda asked me a lot about my mom, and I explained that she returned home after New Year’s Day, but that I was asking her to move here to be closer to me. It appears my mom was a comfort to them and I smiled at that, knowing how caring Mama could be. She’d like the kind words.

I tried to sit with the women, but somehow, I was pressed between the brothers, their legs pressed against me. I felt the heat pooling in my hair as I sipped the ice water gratefully and waited for the seafood pasta I’d ordered. I was nervous being this close to them and felt Brandon glancing at me from time to time as we chatted over lunch.

When Brent mentioned the conference, Brenda urged me to go. She said they were always wonderful, even though she was attending as a spouse. Being that she helped a lot with the company, she attended everything and learned along the way as well. There was a lot of activities as well as work business, and she was even familiar with the hotel this year, blushing as she sipped her wine quickly. There were clearly some good memories there, and I chewed the shrimp in my mouth as thighs pressed against me, even feeling a hand on my leg as I jerked gently. It was Brandon, and he stroked my upper thigh gently as I pressed my lips together.

I stood as quickly as I could without drawing attention to myself once we were finished and going back to the office, walking with Ashley as we chatted about her boyfriend. I knew the guys didn’t like him, but Tanner was a nice guy. He was young, and they likely wouldn’t last. He was just right for her for now, getting her through this hard time while being nice to her along the way.

Tanner reminded me of Derrick, my boyfriend from back home. He didn’t last, either but it ended before I had sex with him. Since then, I was on a dry spell since I couldn’t find anyone I wanted to give that to. I was twenty-three and still a virgin, and now I wanted to have sex with two men. Not only that, I wanted to sleep with my supervisors.

We went back to work as the women left, promising to stop by again soon as I let out a sigh. I remained at my desk to work but couldn’t help to look towards their door, remembering the feel of Brandon’s hand on my leg. It was intense and scary, and one of the best combinations that I’d ever experienced. I stood and tapped on the closed door, listening for a voice before I walked inside. “Is everything okay, Jane?” Brandon asked, a twinkle in his eye.

“What were you doing back there?” I asked as I stared at him.

“Didn’t you like it?” He asked as Brent gave his brother a long look.

“What did you do, Brandon?” Brent asked coldly as I realized that he didn’t know.

“He was touching my leg under the table. I told you that this…this couldn’t happen. I told you that I am not cut out for this. This job is everything I’ve ever wanted, and I can’t lose it over some short-lived attraction.” I stammered as I looked at Brent and then Brandon. “I do want you, both of you. I just can’t. I can’t.”

“Are you going to join us at the conference?” Brent asked as I looked at him incredulously. “It will be a great time, and you will learn so much. It’s important for your future to do that and the beach is nothing short of amazing. You’ll have a luxurious room all to yourself. You know that we’d never push anything on you. Never.” He looked at his brother with narrowed eyes and the force behind them was so intense that I felt my knees wobble. Brent wasn’t the easygoing brother, the nice one. He had a dark side to him that I suddenly wanted to see as our eyes locked, the electricity flowing between us.

“I’ll go.” I forced my head to nod before turning to walk back to my desk. I dropped into my seat and took a deep breath, struck by what happened in there. I liked Brandon and his confident, flirty ways but Brent and his anger shook me; surprised me. He made me want him in that moment and having already fantasized about the two of them, my feelings were so much stronger.

I had to go to Mazatlán. I had to further my career, even if these sexy brothers drove me away to another company. I never traveled, and the pictures were amazing to look at. I wanted to be on that beach with the moon shining brightly, but I pushed the idea of two sexy men there with me out of my head. I should just meet a random man and get it over with. It was a resort on a beach, and there had to be some hot, vacationing man there that could give me what I now wanted.

I don’t know how much work I got done the rest of that day, but it wasn’t enough. I was thinking about lunch and the feeling of a strong hand caressing my thigh over the skirt that I wore that day, the material so thin that I could feel the heat. I could feel it after the feeling traveled up my skin and between my legs, leaving me with a need that I was too scared to quench. I took a ragged breath and looked towards the bathroom, thinking about the ten stalls in there where anyone else could be. I then thought about the private one just a few feet away from him where I could take care of myself alone and near the men that were causing this burning inside of me. The idea of asking them to use it made my skin heat up, and I dropped my hand down as I took a long look around. I was alone in this corner, and nobody would know what I did as my hand slipped between my thighs, over the material of my skirt. All I had to do was just rub my swollen clit and make my world shake for a moment to get through this.

I was past the skirt and the underwear, stroking myself hard as I held in the scream that was in my throat. I came the way that I wanted to, hard and fast as I pressed my lips together. I leaned back in my seat as I heard the door to my right open and prayed for a few more seconds to myself.

By the time Brandon walked by, I was sitting up straight and trying to look normal as aftershocks passed through me. My hand was still on my bare folds, my wet skin but I just needed to worry about my face right now. He glanced at me and paused as his eyes drifted hungrily over me. He inhaled deeply as I blushed and licked his lips. “Is that how you look when you come?” His eyes roamed over the desk as he seemed to consider crawling right over it. I wanted to slide my chair back and bring his face down to taste me, a thought that made me feel ashamed inside. Suddenly, the orgasm wasn’t enough for me, and I widened my eyes as we looked at each other. “You have a room booked in a month, Jane. I wish it were closer to mine so I could at least hear you.”

He chuckled as he walked towards the break room and I was left alone. I swallowed the lump in my throat before reaching for a tissue to wipe off my hand before I made my way to the bathroom to use it and wash my hands. I could see the slight wrinkle in the material of my skirt as I glanced in the mirror, but the flush to my cheeks was what got my attention more. I looked happy, and I realized what a real orgasm with a real man would feel like as I shook my head.

I lived in New York, and I could meet a man. Hell, I had been hit on a handful of times here but it just never appealed to me before this.

I got back to my desk and forced my head back into work, trying to ignore the closed door to my right. I didn’t know when Brandon returned or what he might have said to me if I’d been there. I wondered if he told Brent and what that brother might think if he knew. He was as big a part of the fantasy in my mind as I came as Brandon, if not more at times.

It was going to be a long month if this was the beginning of it but I’d take that time to get over these men that were haunting my mind. I would work, spend time with Breanna, and go home to sleep and start all over. I still saw the employees from my old company here and there as well, and that would distract me.

That night, I also bought some toys from an online company that I’d heard friends talk about. I’d touched myself over the last few years, but after today, I needed more to satisfy myself. I asked for overnight shipping before I paid and dropped back to my mattress as I sighed in relief. Maybe that would calm me down and get me through life without all of this catching up to me too much.

CHAPTER 25

Brent

I couldn’t believe when Brandon told me he walked out to her getting herself off, right there at the desk. I had to force myself to stay seated and not go out there to clean her pussy out with my mouth. The look in her eyes after I’d made myself clear with Brandon had nearly sent me over the edge as I saw the want in them. Jesus, she liked the bossy side of me as much as she liked Brandon’s bold flirting. She liked all of it; this sweet, innocent girl that worked for us. I wondered what she’d look like bent over on our couch as I took her from behind, slapping her ass as she cried my name. I pictured he bent over Brandon, sucking him off as I’d seen other girls do as my cock hardened painfully in my pants.

I sent a text to someone, planning to stop by to see her and work this out of my system. I left at five, despite the work that I needed to do. Brandon followed me with his own plans, and I threw the keys to the car since I was planning to take a cab. I ran my hands through my hair as I walked to the curb to flag a car down. I felt like I was losing control of myself and repeated her wishes in my head a million times so I wouldn’t try to fuck her. I had plenty of women ready to drop to their knees for me in more ways than one to please me. Delilah was a girl I’d met a couple of months back at a bar, and she was a fun raven-haired girl that had no boundaries. That is where I was headed tonight since I knew I had to work this out of my system, work or not. I had to find something that could distract me from Jane so I could get through the days there and not think about her as much as I had been. Brandon ruined me by telling me what he saw.

I hopped into the back of the car and told the driver Del’s address as he made the short drive to her place. She lived in a great part of town, having money like we did and the same childhood. I thought that she might be a bit fucked up from her parents, who never seemed to be around for her at all but it was getting me sex tonight, and that worked for me. I needed sex tonight.

I handed the guy a few big bills and slipped out once he jerked to a stop, climbing the stairs to her place. She opened the door, dressed in a tiny denim skirt and black lace t-shirt, smiling seductively at me. “Here I thought you were busy at work,” her voice was low, and I pushed past her, closing the door with my foot before I pulled her face to mine for a deep kiss. “Wow. Hi, Brent.” She wrapped her arms around my neck, and I shoved her against the wall as she moaned against me. Her legs were clinging to my waist as we kissed, all tongues and teeth. I longed for her to be a little taller, curvy with full lips like Jane but I would make do. We stayed there for a little while, working ourselves up until I carried her quickly to her bedroom down the hallway, kissing her the entire way. I was familiar with the floor plan to her massive two story place, thankful that she slept on the first floor and not the second in times like this.

I let her slide down my body to feel how hard I was for her, lifting her shirt off once her feet hit the floor. She stripped off her skirt on her own and then unbuttoned my pants as I kicked them off. We fell onto the bed, kissing as I scooted her up to the pillows and found her jaw and then her neck. Del liked my teeth, and I used them everywhere to make her hot for me, enjoying the whimpers of pain and pleasure that came from deep in her throat. I moved between the apex of her thighs and attacked her with my tongue there, finding her ready for me as I stroked myself slowly. I made her come against me, feeling her rock against me as she screamed my name as I leaned over and grabbed a condom from a drawer near the bed. I covered myself and lifted her feet to my shoulders, plunging deep inside of her as she cried out. We established early on that she liked it rough and that’s how I gave it to her, telling her to get on her knees halfway through. I took her from behind, savagely as I closed my eyes and imagined Jane’s wide-eyed stare as I gripped the hips before me. I came with a roar, still fantasizing as I shot into the latex and she tightened around me for another release. “Not a word when you get here and then that. What has you so worked up?” Delilah asked me as she dropped to her stomach and sighed slowly.

“I just needed to feel you wrapped around me,” I delivered a favorite line as she giggled and shook her head.

“I don’t think you’re that addicted to me. You boys don’t get hooked to anybody from what I read.” Her voice was teasing, and there wasn’t a trace of jealousy in it, which I liked. Delilah knew the game well, and she was a perfect pawn in my game tonight. She got hers, and I got mine.

“Not the types at all. Now would not be the time to because we work so fucking much,” I groaned as I moved to my feet to head to the bathroom door. I tied off the condom and got a bottle of water from the fridge before returning. I played down my role in the company, making it sound like an inconvenience to this crowd. Few of them worked, and most hid behind the facade of college, making their parents pay for the partying more than the books. I sipped from the bottle and handed it to her, watching her thick, straight hair fall over her shoulders as she tilted it back.

“How is that going?” Delilah asked as I shrugged.

“Good. It was all set up when we stepped in, and it’s been a smooth transition. The staff is great there,” I kept my answer short, not discussing how close my family was with anybody. I saw a lot of these people at social functions, and a lot were even at the funeral, but I saved my grieving for later. That was my time. “How’s school?”

“Dad wants me to go into law. That’s another round of school, and I’m tired of this one,” she whined in a tragic voice as I rolled my eyes. She never worked a day in her life and school was her only responsibility. How hard could it fucking be for her? I realized that I never went to school, but still,…it was just classes and some homework mixed with a lot of partying. That’s what I’d heard, anyway. I didn’t see it being much more than that when Dad hammered Brandon and me about it.

We went for it another couple of times, this time including head for me and a lot of spanking for her before she was screaming my name again. Jesus. She was too easy, and I tried to get one more orgasm out before I left for the night, since this girl was not the kind that you spent the night with. I also worked in the morning and just wanted to go from my house. She walked me to the door in an oversized t-shirt and kissed my neck before telling me to call her soon. It was then that Brandon asked me if I needed a ride home since his flavor of the night lived close by. I agreed and sat on the steps to take in the city while I waited for him to pull up. It was later now, and fewer people were on the street as I breathed in the cold Winter air. Brandon pulled up, and I slipped into the passenger seat and glanced at him. “Did you work a sweet Southern pussy out of your system?” He asked as I groaned.

“Fuck, no. I tried, but that is going to take a while. A long while and probably when I am over it, we’ll be seeing her in a bikini on the beach.” I shook my head. “Damn, that is going to look at and not touch.”

“Bet there will be a lot of babes there for us. You’ve heard Dad’s stories about the single people. We have an entire week there, Brent,” Brandon told me as I leaned my head back and closed my eyes.

“Hopefully,” I mumbled and thought about the few hours of sleep that I’d be getting before tomorrow. I walked into my room and changed into some boxers to sleep in for the night, falling asleep quickly thanks to my work out tonight. The alarm screamed at me too early, and I hit it, considering playing dead today. I didn’t want to think about the orders waiting for us or the pretty assistant that was denying us her body.

I was ready to leave at the usual time and drove us in. Brandon sipped coffee and checked scores on his phone, cursing when he saw the Ranger’s loss. “Fuck. They won’t have a chance at the Cup with this shit.”

“We should check out a game. We have seats through the company.” Dad always used to give us tickets, not using them himself because he was focused on work and family. We went to a few games as a family here and there, but Brandon was more of a fan thanks to a couple of his friends.

“If they don’t sink,” he muttered as I parked in the garage. We got out and walked over to the elevator and Brandon hit me in the arm. “Look at her.” Jane was ahead of us, wearing some fitted black slacks that showed off her ass and a white shirt that was sheer enough to get a look at the camisole underneath. I slowed and controlled my breathing for a moment, letting her get on with the group of people that she was talking to. One of them was a guy, and I narrowed my eyes at his smile before the doors closed.

Jane had to come into the office to give us some papers today, and she was nothing more than civil every time. She looked beautiful but was clearly uncomfortable, and I wondered how this happened when we didn’t even sleep with her at all. I looked at the email that confirmed the room reservations as well as the flight information that I made for the three of us. I sent it along to her and resisted telling her to get some sexy clothes for the trip since I was trying to be professional. I was trying hard, and I’d go back to Delilah’s and any other girl to work this out of my system.

I went home that night to have dinner with the family after work, seeing that Jane left just before us. We weren’t watching her get to the bus anymore, and I didn’t like that, but it seemed to be what she wanted. She lived here for a while now and had a system. After dinner, I sent Del some dirty messages and got off that way from the comfort of my own bed with a box of tissues. It wasn’t ideal, but it would do, and I’d get some damn sleep.

The weeks passed slowly before everyone was talking about the trip the following week since half of the office was going. Everyone looked forward to this, and the fun was had due to the work time and play time was equally divided. All our managers were going and some of their assistants, all staying in the same hotel. That could get interesting, though I wanted nobody in the office more than I wanted Jane. She seemed to be warming up to us a little, being friendly and even working with us in the office since we both backed off. Jane asked us a few things about these trips, and I was honest about the fact that they got a bit indecent. The blush on her face was worth it. She didn’t seem at all like the type to be involved with that kind of thing, but it was fun to embarrass her.

We left that Friday, leaving early the following morning for the week. I packed both work clothes and casual clothes for the trip as I felt my shoulders relaxing. I was going to enjoy myself every chance I got, even though this wasn’t one of the trips that Brandon and I made in the past.

CHAPTER 26

Jane

I stared at my suitcase open on my bed for a long moment. I was going to a beautiful resort for my job tomorrow. I had plenty of sundresses, casual work clothes, and a couple of nicer things for any fancier occasions. I had packed four pairs of shoes and some various accessories before I went to make myself some tea. I went over my stuff in my head once again as I waited for the whistle, wondering what Brent and Brandon would be wearing there. They backed off from me at work, and I acted like they didn’t affect me, making it a relatively pleasant work environment. I knew from Google that they were out doing their thing and I had a drawer full of new friends that worked them out of my system on a nightly basis. I giggled as I thought about packing some and getting caught by the airport. That would be so embarrassing since a lot of us were flying together. I would figure something out there. The friends I’d made at the office included a guy named Nate, who was handsome enough and kind but he wasn’t the sexy twins that I worked for. I didn’t have the heart to use him for my first time when it wasn’t even him that I was thinking about.

If that were to happen at all, it would be with someone there that I’d never see again. Ever.

I finished and set the bag by the door as I folded some jeans and a tank top to wear tomorrow. It was expected to be warm where we were going, so I only planned to wear the jacket to the airport tomorrow. I slipped into a t-shirt and found a book on my Kindle to read in bed as I let myself relax. This was going to be work, but it was also going to be fun. There was a fantastic beach and several pools to find peace at, as well as a few clubs and bars to let loose at. My move to New York was the biggest experience of my life so far, and I wanted to live a little.

I looked in the drawer beside me, thinking that I should spend a little time with my favorite toy before I left. I grinned and set the book down to reach for it, going to my stock images of the twins in my head to use as my fantasy. I finished and put it back before sipping my cooling tea and closing my eyes. If this stuff made me feel this way, I could only imagine what a man would feel like.

I rose to shower and get ready for the flight, sipping coffee to wake up as I put on a little makeup and add a few last-minute things to the bag. There was a car service picking me up, and I made a quick walk through the apartment to make sure that everything was ready to go. I was thankful that I didn’t get the kitten I’d wanted for the last year at this moment so I could leave without worry.

The flight was quiet since a lot of people seemed to sleep through it. It was a day’s worth of traveling, and even I dozed off since I got caught up in my activities last night. The twins weren’t with us, making me assume that they had a different flight or perhaps chose first class. I didn’t care how I flew, though this plane was beautiful and spacious. I just wanted to be in the ocean.

We arrived around seven in the evening, though my body was a little off. Not nearly as much as I expected, though. We took shuttles to the resort and got settled in before the casual night in the hotel bar meeting everyone. I walked into my fifth-floor room, and my mouth dropped open. It was large with whitewashed walls and a huge bed against the wall that faced the windows and the balcony. Those windows offered an impressive view of the pretty blue ocean and a long stretch of beach that I would be on every chance that I got. I put my clothes away with the door wide open, breathing in the salty air as I worked and looking out quite often. Once I was done with the clothes portion, I stepped into the bathroom and took a long look at the large space with a luxury shower as well as a claw tooth bathtub. “They didn’t cut any corners, did they?” I asked myself softly as I got my things arranged on the counter.

I showered and put on some more makeup to make myself look like I didn’t spend an entire day on a plane. Slipping into a short red, clingy dress and some black strappy heels, I took one last look in the mirror and slipped my room key into the small black purse that I slid over my shoulder. I took the elevator to the bar and walked in, seeking out familiar faces at the door. I found the corner that my people seemed to be gathered in and joined them, accepting Nate’s offer of a drink. Slowly but surely, we met up with some of the other companies that were attending the conference and were soon talking and laughing.

Admittedly, I kept looking at Brent and Brandon. They wore low-slung jeans and casual button up shirts in varying shades of blue as they sipped what looked like whiskey and talked with some of the guys. There were plenty of women taking them in, but the guys didn’t seem to notice all that much. They were just talking, and taking peeks at the sports playing on television as I tried to focus on the group that I was in. They were fun and would have kept me laughing if I wasn’t distracted. After about an hour I started looking at the door, and Nate took notice, asking me if I wanted to walk on the beach with him.

We left, and I slipped off the shoes gratefully to trudge through the sand, Nate beside me as I took it all in. It was stunning, and I couldn’t wait to come down here in the morning or afternoon tomorrow if I had a chance. “Wow,” I murmured as I heard him laugh beside me.

“First time at a place like this?” Nate asked as I nodded and glanced at him, asking the same. Nate shrugged and said he regularly vacationed at places like this as I nodded. He seemed to have an air of wealth about him that was not nearly as sexy as the twins, even though he was nice in a surfer guy kind of way. We walked down the beach and back towards the hotel as he reached for my hand, making me tense up. “Jane, I think you’re a gorgeous woman.” I shook my head. “I’d like to spend some time with you here.”

“I can’t. I mean…I don’t see coworkers like that.” I shot him an apologetic look in the moonlight and shrugged. “You know how that turns out, right?”

“It doesn’t have to. There aren’t any rules about it, you know.” Nate tugged on my hand a mile or so from the hotel, and I pressed my lips together. “It could be fun.” I felt dread fill me as he pulled me back towards him, focused on the figures walking towards me before Nate turned me around. I wasn’t scared of him, but I didn’t want this, not letting on to anybody just how innocent I was. “Come here.”

“I have to go, Nate.” I tried to sound casual as I pulled away and he tugged again. “Stop it.”

The shadows drew closer to us, and I pulled hard as I got free from Nate, surprising him so much that I fell forward on the sand. “Are you okay?” A familiar husky voice asked as I blushed and looked up. It was Brent with Brandon just behind him, shooting a dark look at Nate.

“Fine. I just fell, that’s all.” I let him help me up and moved closer to him as Nate watched me. “Good night, Nate.” I left, and the brothers walked with me easily, making me shiver under their gaze as Brandon held my shoes in his hand.

“Are you really okay?” Brent asked as I took a breath.

“He didn’t do…anything. Not really. I just didn’t even want it to begin,” I admitted as I shivered in the ocean breeze. “I don’t know why I walked with him out here.”

Brandon opened the glass door to the lobby, and I wandered towards the elevator, still shaking. He wrapped a strong arm around my shoulder and pulled me against his body as heat washed over me. Brent pushed the button for the elevator, and they took me to my room as I looked up at them. “Why were you guys on the beach?”

“Saw you leave with him and wanted to make sure that everything was all right,” Brent replied as my eyes widened. Brandon handed me my shoes as I stood in the open door, looking at me closely. “Are you okay to be alone?”

I licked my lips as they both watched me. There was a part of me that wanted to tell them no. That girl wanted to tell them how much I was craving them and that I wished it was them on the beach with me instead of Nate. It seemed like a good place to be with the right man or men. I couldn’t choose one of them and silence fell between us. “Yeah, I think so. I’ll see you tomorrow morning in the conference room.” I hated the words.

“Sleep well, Jane.” Brent looked at me one more time before he turned towards the elevator, followed by his brother. They waited for me to close and lock the door as I leaned against it, taking a slow, deep breath. I walked forward to close the curtains after cracking the window open just enough for some air. I went to the bathroom to strip off the dress and slip into a soft cotton nightgown and wash my face.

Sitting on the big bed alone with the television on seemed to soothe the discomfort from the evening for me. Nate never threatened me and any that there might have been was handled by Brandon with a simple look. No words were said, but the brothers conveyed a lot with their actions, being protective and caring all in the same beat. It only made them sexier to me, and I dropped back onto the pillows with a sigh. I fell asleep there, waking up to the light of the sun slipping through the crack of the blue curtains. I rolled to my side and looked around the strange room before thinking back to the events of the night before.

Glancing at the clock, I realized that I had about an hour and a half before I had to go downstairs. I made coffee in the cute little coffee maker and opened the door to take it outside and look over the water. I played back the part from last night where Brent asked me if I was okay and I caught his intense gaze. His concern was apparent in his eyes as well as anger, and I remembered how I scooted close to him without a second thought.

God, it was so easy. I sipped my coffee again and looked around, feeling like I was in paradise.

I showered and dressed in a gray pencil skirt and soft yellow button up shirt with cap sleeves after my light makeup was on. I slipped my feet into heels to match the skirt and slipped my tablet, wireless keyboard, and a notebook with a pen inside of a dark purple messenger bag. My hair was in a loose bun at the name of my neck today for comfort, and I took one last look in the mirror before slipping the key into my bag and going to the elevator. There were a few familiar faces, and I smiled at them as we all said our good mornings. I didn’t get to know too many people that well last night to use names, but there would be time for that throughout the week. Once we were in the lobby, I took a long look around before heading to the back wall where our morning meeting was going to be held.

The room was beautiful with a large space full of tables and a lot of windows. I was surprised to see a breakfast buffet set up in the corner and a big one at that. I searched the room for Brent and Brandon to see them holding a table as I walked over and sat down beside Brent with a grateful smile. “Thanks again for last night.”

“It wasn’t a problem, Jane.” He gave me a serious look as I nodded and stared at the table. They were wearing black slacks and white shirts with ties that made their eyes a beautiful blue as I swallowed thickly. I wanted to tell them how much I wanted them to come into my room with me and make me forget the slice of fear that I felt on the beach. I wanted to tell them that I wanted them to be the ones touching me, but remembered how I reminded them that nothing would ever happen between us. How would it look if I took all of that back after things seemed to be better between us?

It would look weak.

Brent stood and went to get a plate, assuring me that he’d bring me something back. Brandon remained for a moment, searching my face before he rose to follow Brent as women watched from all over the room. God, in the natural light of this room the guys were breathtaking. They had a commanding presence without the good looks, and even I stared as they walked through the various food offerings as well as stopping by the espresso stand before returning to me. Brent had a plate of fresh fruit and some breakfast pastries while Brandon slid a strong cup of coffee across the table at me.

CHAPTER 27

Brandon

Fuck if she didn’t look beautiful this morning. I know that Jane said that she was fine last night, but I saw the way she pulled away from him in the bright moonlight. Her eyes were wide when she looked at us, and I sucked in my breath as I stared at the guys with a look that could kill. I don’t know what he was trying, but the way that she moved closer to us on her shaking legs told me that whatever it was made her uncomfortable. I glanced across the room today to meet his gaze with a cold one of my own, not giving a fuck if I was sabotaging a friendship of hers. Nobody was going to make her feel that way and think they had anything left with her. Hell, Brent and I would both protect her from him and anyone else. We’d become skilled at protecting her against us the last few weeks, but I felt the pull in her room last night. Her need slipped into her eyes as she looked at us silently, beckoning for us to come inside and erase whatever memories she had from the beach.

We’d never force it, though. Jane would have to ask. We made it through the conference as she took notes on the tablet and nibbled slowly on her food, seemingly caught up in what we were learning. I kept staring at the curve of her neck and the way the shirt she was wearing clung to her curves. Damn it, Jane was beautiful. We were excused for lunch and insisted on taking her to a small cafe with us where we enjoyed sandwiches and Jane a hearty salad. We sipped water even though I really wanted a beer, but there was always later. Brent paid for lunch to her protests, and she swore that she’d get the next meal.

That meant there would be one.

Something different was happening between all of us now. We were comfortable, and it appeared that Jane felt safe with us. Her words were light and teasing as we talked, but her eyes moved over each of us heavily from time to time. I know that I was staring at her every chance that I got, along with my brother. A lot of guys were, but she didn’t seem to be aware of it.

We had dinner with her that night, in a place next to a dance club that was so typical in Mexico. Jane did enjoy a drink with her seafood, and we happily ordered beers, since we were so close to the hotel. Jane changed into a flirty dark pink dress to go eat in with some ballet flats, and I looked at the skirt that was loose around her thighs once she was knocking on our door on the tenth floor. It was a suite more than just a room, and we each had our own bedroom with an ocean view. I invited her in, and Jane looked around with an impressed gaze as she strolled across the living room. “So, this is what the big bosses get when they travel.” She walked to the large balcony and walked outside to wait for Brent, who was freshening up in the bathroom. I joined her, standing close to her as she took a shuddering breath.

“There are perks to running a company, you know.” I handed her a bottle of water that she took with shaking hands. Brent came out in shorts and a dark t-shirt, and we left for the restaurant together, with Jane falling very silent. She ordered two drinks with her meal, strong ones that made her loosen up and giggle a lot. We hit the club beside it after, surprised to find it void of any colleagues as we went to the bar for more drinks. The music was smooth with a great beat, and Jane was soon pulling us out to the dance floor. Liquid courage lessened her inhibitions, and she shook her hips easily as her skirt danced around her lower thighs, something that Brent and I both watched closely. She giggled, and I moved closer to her, intoxicated by the beat and the way her body was moving. Brent looked around the room that was getting darker with flashes of light as I moved behind her and found a rhythm, her hips moving smoothly with mine. I slipped my hand around her hips as I felt her moan reverberate through her body, smelling the sweet scent of citrus in her hair and something else on her skin. Jesus fucking Christ, Jane was sexy.

Brent moved in front of her, and she danced with him for a bit, making me jealous of her body rubbing against his cock as he tugged her closer. I was pressed firmly against her juicy ass, and that was incredible, but he was faux fucking her right now as she gave into the moment. The song turned into another one as she moved between us, her hands sliding shyly over our bodies as she teased Brent and them me. Jane had to know what she was doing as I pulled her against me, her backside rubbing my painful erection as I groaned. I slid one hand from her hip up her body, curving my hand around her full breast as her head dropped against me. I met my brother’s eyes in the dimly lit space and saw the hunger in his eyes. I stroked her gently, longing to tug the dress aside and find her nipple with my thumb and finger as I reminded myself of where we were.

Jane only had a couple more drinks throughout the night, so I knew that she wasn’t sloppy drunk when we left the club and she slipped her arms around us. I knew that she wanted us from the last hour or so spent with her on the floor and I glanced around carefully for anyone that we might know. For all anyone else around us knew, we were helping her to her room after some drinks, and that was all. It could be the case since nothing had been discussed yet but I felt like it was more. We entered the lobby and walked to the elevators, getting on as the doors closed and Brent looked at me. “Ready for some sleep, Jane? Do you have your room key?”

“I don’t want to be alone,” she murmured as she turned towards me and giggled. “Can I sleep in your room?” Heat washed through me at the thought as I licked my lips. Fuck, yes, she could.

“Jane,” I prodded her gently as her eyes gazed into mine. “Are you drunk?” She smiled and shook her head, giving me a glimpse of clarity in her eyes. “If you come up there, nothing will happen if that’s what you want. I’ll sleep on the couch and you can have the bed.”

“Mmmm, we’ll see. Maybe I’ll sleep on the balcony,” she laughed as I stared hard at Brent. No fucking way that was going to happen. He pressed the button for the penthouse and the car moved as she pressed herself against me and breathed in. Her tits pressed into my chest as I breathed in slowly, feeling my cock harden. I wanted to slide my hands down her legs and back up under the skirt to feel her; to see if she was wet for me. I resisted, but the thought was there as I held her shoulders to support her. The elevator stopped, and Brent led the way off into our room as she walked in and stretched, lifting her skirt an inch or two.

“Fuck me,” he muttered as I nodded in agreement. Jane had a great body and did some exercise regularly, judging from the taut thighs that she revealed to us. She walked to the couch and dropped down, looking around with a smile.

“This is an incredible room,” she told us as she leaned back. “Mine is pretty, too. This, though? This is the nicest place I’ve ever seen in a hotel.” Jane looked at us with wide green eyes as Brent walked over to get us all some water before we joined her on the sofa. It was already a bit late, and we had another conference tomorrow mid-morning that we should get some sleep for, but neither of us wanted to leave Jane alone. “Can I ask you something?” Her voice was soft as I looked at my brother and nodded.

“Will you kiss me?” She asked as my heart dropped into my throat.

“What happened to your rules, Jane?” Brent asked from her left as she let out a sigh.

“I am tired of them. I am sick of pretending that I don’t want you…want you both. I act like this is nothing at work, but it is so much more than that.” She looked at each of us pleadingly, and we looked at each other. Brent nodded at me, and I leaned close to her, brushing my lips against hers. Jane sighed and melted into me as he traced her arm with his hand, softly stroking her as our lips molded together. When I teased her lower lip with my tongue, she opened for me, and I groaned when her tongue slid against mine. It was hot and perfect, and I felt her arms slide around my neck to hold me against her.

Jane moaned, and I opened my eyes to see Brent moving his hand gently over the skin above the dress, edging towards her breasts as he read her reaction. From the way, she was pushing up, she wanted him to move lower, so Brent gently cupped her and stroked her nipple above the dress, and she kissed me harder.

Fuck, the sounds she was making were sexy, and I sucked at her tongue forcefully as I fought the urge to slide my hand under her dress. At some point, she broke away from me and kissed Brent, but I had no problem sliding my hand under the top of her dress and touching her bare, pebbled nipple.

It got heated but went no further than kissing and us touching her chest. We didn’t want to rush this, and Jane asked if she could sleep with both of us once we told her that we wanted to take this slow. We agreed and brought her into the front bedroom, offering her a shirt to sleep in as she disappeared into the bathroom. I popped into the other room and found some shorts to sleep in while Brent changed into his own before she came out. The shirt fell to her thighs, and she passed barefoot across the room and slipped under the covers, taking the center of the bed. We moved in on either side, and she kissed each of us, slow and deep as we touched her gently.

We woke up tangled together when the alarm went off, and she smiled at us. “I’ve never slept so well.”

After snuggling for a little while, Jane dressed and went down to her room to get ready as Brent stared at me. “What the fuck was that?”

“I think it was the start of something that we all enjoyed,” I replied as I made some coffee. Brent took a shower, and I stared at the waves as I remembered how Jane’s mouth tasted with her kiss, sweet like the drinks and the gloss that she was wearing. I stumbled into my room to shower and pulled on another pair of black slacks and a green button up shirt. I felt shaky and affected by Jane like never before.

We met up in the same room, and there was a flow to the way that we got her food and coffee. Her lips were swollen with the kisses from the night before, and I knew what she was thinking about when she’d blush here and there throughout the day. I knew that she was replaying the night before as much as I was.

That evening, we ate somewhere else and went back to the penthouse without discussing it. Jane walked out to the balcony, and we followed her, knowing that she only had a couple of glasses of wine tonight. Dinner was more mellow, and we just wanted to be alone when we were done, putty in Jane’s hands. She looked at the sky for a moment before turning towards Brent and pushing him into the wall for a long kiss. Tonight, she was wearing a longer loose black skirt and a red shirt with matching lipstick that was probably smeared on my brother’s face right now. He stumbled, and they moved to one of the oversized chaise lounges as he dropped into it first, pulling her over him.

I watched as the kiss deepened and she rocked over him. Their bodies moved so well together and I heard her moans as he gripped her hips and eased her into a rhythm. It was the first time that we watched her come, on Brent’s lap with their bodies close together and lips joined. It was stunning to watch her fall apart, her voice rising in the night as Brent eased his hands into her hair.

Jane sank into him as he pulled her close, whispering to her gently as I stared at them. Brent urged her up and we took her into the bedroom, where she changed into another shirt in the bathroom before slipping into bed. Jane seemed stunned as she snuggled into me and found my lips while Brent locked up the suite. “Did that feel good?” I asked her as she nodded drowsily. “I loved watching you come, Jane.”

“Tomorrow night, it will be you making me do that,” she promised before she kissed me again gently, making me hard again. Jane pressed into me and Brent came to bed and looked at us before kissing her hair.

CHAPTER 28

Jane

I was in over my head with these guys. Being with them made me feel sexy and confident and the night we danced together, I knew that I was going to give in. I knew that I had no willpower left at all, though I wasn’t ready for it to go all the way quite yet.

The first night, I just kissed them and they touched me. I say just, but the feeling of being kissed by such charismatic guys, brothers no less, was intense. I could come just from my mouth against theirs, their styles different and skin warm under my hands.

The second night that we were together, I attacked Brent. I kissed him first, deepening it quickly as I felt Brandon’s eyes on us. When Brent moved us to the chair, lying under me as he kissed me again; I knew that I had no hope. I found his shaft and pressed against it, finding the friction that I needed. Oh God, he felt so good as he held my hips and guided me, his rhythm matching the movement of our kiss. I rocked with him, needing the release that he promised as my clit burned with desire. I moved against him once, twice; crying out as I felt myself exploding. Brent slipped his hands into my hair and kissed me tenderly as I felt the waves pass through me. He was so gentle as I rode through the orgasm, stilling, and letting me control things.

I crawled into bed with Brandon, snuggling against him as I kissed him. I knew that he was next and I promised him that it would be him making me orgasm the following night. I wanted him to touch me where no man ever had before since Derrick left me before things progressed that far. We had a lazy morning the following day, sipping coffee on the patio before I went downstairs to change for the tour the hotel set up for all of us as a break. I looked around as I walked into the room, wondering if I’d ever sleep in here. I knew that I didn’t want to.

We went on a tour of some of the other beaches, having lunch in a seaside restaurant as a group. I struggled to not touch them as we sat at a table with a few others, trying to pay attention to the conversations around me as I smiled and laughed in the right places.

We got back on the bus to go to meet a boat that took us to a place called Deer Island, passing by a few other places along the way. It was beautiful, and I leaned against the railing, taking pictures, and mulling over what I was doing. This trip was so much more than I thought it would be as I approached the idea of having sex with one man, much less two. Did it matter who it was? Was Brandon jealous that it was Brent that made me come first? Would this ever cause a problem between them?

I was lost in thought as I felt someone come to stand beside me. “Are you okay?” Brent asked me as I glanced at him.

“Yes. Why do you ask?” I replied as he tilted his head.

“This…is a lot. I know that it’s not a typical situation for anyone, but you strike me as a rather innocent woman.” His voice was very soft and I looked over the water.

“I am a virgin,” I admitted as I felt his eyes on me.

“Are you sure about this?” His voice was serious and I nodded slowly before giving him a quick look.

“Yes, I am. It might not be tonight or even tomorrow, but I want all of this. I just wonder what happens when we get home.” I kept looking slowly around to make sure that we were alone, until Brandon joined us. We worked together and this was natural.

“We will figure that out as we go. This will stop wherever you want it to,” Brent said as Brandon looked at us. We stayed there as the boat pulled into the island, stunned by the rough trip to the shore as I held my bag over my head and made my way through the water.

It was a fun afternoon and we went back to the boat to return to the hotel. We’d already decided to have dinner in the suite, just the three of us and I joined them on the elevator. We walked in together and I stretched as I felt the sunburn starting to sting. I always wore sunscreen but the water seemed to have washed it off a bit.

Brent got the room service menu and we looked at it, deciding on a few dishes to share and a bottle of wine. Brandon looked at me and saw my red skin as he touched me gently. “You should soak in a bath after dinner. Maybe it’ll take the sting out of that.”

They did have a beautiful tub.

We had dinner on the balcony and laughed as we ate, discussing the day. I drank two glasses of wine and took the third into the bathroom to draw up a nice bubble bath. I was inside of the water when they walked into the bathroom and sat down on either side of the tub, talking to me as I relaxed.

I got out blushing as I grabbed a towel and wrapped it around my body. I had barely touched them all day and stepped over to Brandon, nuzzling his lips with mine as I felt lips on my neck. It made every nerve ending in my body react as Brandon deepened the kiss slowly. I lifted my arms to slide my hands into his hair, feeling the towel slide down my body before I could stop it. “You’re beautiful,” Brent told me as I felt him tracing my back gently with his fingers. Brandon slipped a hand between us, and I felt him slide it up my stomach to capture one of my breasts in his hand.

Oh. God.

He thumbed the nipple as our tongues collided together and I felt Brent take a gentle hold of the other one. He tugged, and I pressed my thighs together as my pussy screamed with need. I never felt this before, and I knew that I’d give them everything I had to offer.

The odd embrace had continued for a while before I felt Brandon cup my ass and lift me against him. Excitement flooded me as he brought me to the bed and placed me on it, still damp from the bath. His rough voice told me to lay back against the pillows, and I did, all too aware of my nakedness on display. One of them kissed me slowly, distracting me as our tongues moved together quickly. I knew it was Brent by the way a hand tugged again at my pert nipple while another pair of hands parted my legs. “Do you want to come?” Brandon asked me as I let out a moan and splayed my legs open for him. I’d used the toys at home to death and my own hand, and now I needed his touch.

I felt him tracing my thigh, damp with desire. Brent worked my breast with his hand, careful with just enough force to send heat to my core. When a finger slid into my folds, I let out a pained cry as my body instantly reacted. He found my clit, swollen and needy and stroked it teasingly as I felt myself creep closer to the edge. The feeling of coming against Brent’s cock was incredible, and I knew that this would be too, no clothes between us. “You are so wet,” Brandon told me as he circled my nub again, sliding a finger over my entrance.

I came as he slid a finger inside of me, thumbing my clit at the same time. I screamed, rocking forward as Brent held me close. He peppered me with soft kisses, and I moaned as I felt warm breath between my thighs. I looked down to see Brandon’s eyes watching me as he covered me with his mouth, tracing me with his tongue. “Brandon…oh God. I’ve never…” my voice trailed off as he sucked me between his lips, focusing on my sensitive clit and bringing me to another orgasm as I cried out. I closed my eyes and breathed, feeling better than I ever had. This was wrong, me being involved with my supervisors but it felt so right. The guys moved to either side of me, and I felt a mouth cover my right nipple, working it with teeth and tongue before a hand slid down between my legs to touch me again. Oh, God. I was coming again, and I never wanted to stop as lips covered mine.

We woke up to the alarm, and I blinked in the dim room. Where was I? I felt the warmth surrounding me and looked to see Brent and Brandon sleeping beside me in boxers as everything came back to me. The conference. Mazatlán. The way they made me feel when we were all together, making me blush and reach over Brent for the alarm. He opened one eye and gazed into my face for a long moment. “Are you okay with what happened?” His voice was soft in the quiet room as I pressed myself against him. I nodded. “I won’t…we won’t go further if you don’t want us to.”

“I want to,” I assured him as I pressed a soft kiss to his neck, hearing him moan softly. His skin was soft and smelled so masculine as he slid an arm around me. I kissed down his chest slowly with uncertainty as he whispered for me not to stop. My mind went over everything that happened between the three of us, and I thought about how turned on they both must be. I circled his small nipple with my tongue as I slid my hand into his shorts, gripping him.

“Jane,” he choked, sliding his hand down to cover mine. “You don’t have to.”

“Guide me,” I told him as he covered my hand and stroked me over him slowly. He was thick and long, making me wonder how this would ever fit inside of me. I stroked him, first gently and then hard, feeling his breath quicken before he jerked forward and warmth flooded our hands as he choked out my name.

The alarm went off again, and Brandon stirred as he rolled towards me. He wrapped me in his arms, feeling me pressed against Brent as his hand slid lazily down my side.

We stayed together every night, taking things just a little bit further every day. The last night is when I knew that I was ready since I’d fallen madly for these men in the short time that we’d known each other. They played my body skillfully before Brent slipped into me for the first time, slow and gentle so I could adjust to him. Brandon stroked my skin as I moaned and whimpered, pinching my nipple once I was ready for Brent to move. Before I went to sleep, I felt Brandon inside of me, gentle so he wouldn’t hurt me. “So wet. So tight. So fucking beautiful,” he told me as he moved above me, kissing me gently. “You’re ours, Jane.”

“Yours,” I agreed as I came for him, feeling him still inside of me before jerking. I had no idea how this was going to work out yet, but I loved these men. I loved them both and as unconventional as that was, it was the truth. Brandon’s words to me only assured me yet again that they felt the same. We planned on a lot of nights at my apartment while we worked through this new situation and some private time in the office until we could sort through that, keeping our relationship under the radar.

I landed in New York with a smile on my face, ready to take this on. I was ready to love these men the best that I could, showing them all my feelings along the way.
