Something So Perfect by Natasha Madison (18)

Chapter Seventeen

Matthew

“Don’t make me throw you over my shoulder, Karrie.” I’m almost ready to carry on my threat when my phone rings, the display showing it’s Cooper.

“Hey,” I say into the phone while Karrie walks into the elevator and stands next to me. “Hi, Mom.” The doors close and I put my hand around Karrie’s shoulders, pulling her closer to me, kissing the top of her head.

“Matthew, what a fucking game, son,” Cooper says, his voice booming with pride.

“Thank you. It felt”—I squeeze Karrie’s arm closer to me, thinking of how happy I was when I scored that third goal. Seeing her cheering and beaming with pride made that moment so much better—“fucking fantastic.”

“Watch your mouth, Matthew,” my mom butts in.

The elevator dings open on our floor where we walk out, our hands intertwined with each other's. Karrie walks over to her door, inserting the key.

“Sorry, Mom.” I laugh while my hands go to Karrie’s waist as she walks in the room, closing the door behind me, my back to the door.

“Well, we know how crazy it gets, so we just called to say it’s good to see you play,” Cooper says while my mom starts to ask questions only to be shushed by Cooper. “Leave him be.” Then he comes back. “Call your mother tomorrow,” he says and ends the call.

I toss my phone on the bed, not moving from the door.

“Now,” I tell her, “where were we?” I turn her while her eyes come up. “Oh, yes, you were going to help celebrate my goals by sucking my dick.” I move her hair from her shoulder, tossing her jacket off her. The tank top hugs her tight in all the right places. “You like this top?” I ask her, already ripping it down her tits, along with the bra. “Fuck,” I say, taking her peak into my mouth, biting down on it hard. Her moan comes out loud. “My girl likes that.” I’m about to twirl my tongue around her nipple when we hear a soft knock at the door.

“Matthew.” It’s the whiney girl from downstairs.

“What the fuck?” I whisper while Karrie lifts her shirt that isn’t so snug anymore, moving me out of the way.

Opening the door, I see a different side to Karrie. “Wrong room,” she says to the blonde while I stand behind the door, watching Karrie’s eyes turn dark blue.

“Awww, reallllyyy,” she sings out, her voice making my cock shrivel, “but Max told me this is his room.”

“Nope, not his room. Last I heard he was complaining about his dick being super itchy, something about crabs, or what is that other STD that causes itching?” Karrie says while I stand behind the door laughing with my hand over my mouth. “Although he was saying something about green slime.”

The gasp that the blonde shrieks out makes me grab my junk just thinking about it.

“Thanks for letting me know.” Is the last thing we hear before Karrie closes the door and glares at me.

“What?” I ask her.

“What? What? A puck bunny just knocked on my door looking for you. This morning Max knocked on my door and you almost beheaded him.” She folds her arms over her breasts, making them push up.

“Babe,” I say while she puts up her hand, but I walk up to her. “I didn’t even notice who she was. I have eyes for one girl and one girl only. My girl.”

“Do those lines actually work?” she asks while she takes her shirt off. “You owe me one hundred and twenty-five dollars. That was a designer.” She points to the shirt lying on the floor.

“How much is the bra?” I ask her, walking her backward to the bed.

“Don’t you dare, Matthew, this is one of my favorite bras and it’s discontinued!”

“Are you going to be nice to me?” I ask her while she falls on the bed. “Are you going to give me a celebration surprise?” I straddle her, pushing her tits together. “Are you going to give me what I want?”

“No,” she says, yet in her eyes I see it’s going to be yes.

“I think you will,” I tell her while I trace her nipple through the padding, her eyes almost closing.

“Get off me, you big oaf.” She tries to buck me off, making her bra cup open a little just enough for me to get my two fingers in to roll her nipple. “You're really annoying. You know that, right?”

I smile at her, leaning down to whisper in her ear, “Best part of tonight, having you to come home to.”

She rolls her eyes at me. “Oh, please, like you were really missing me with all your harem at the bar.”

I sit up again. “Babe.”

“Shut up, Matthew,” she tells me, trying to push my chest back.

I grab her hands, putting them by her head while her eyes never leave mine.

“Babe, you have to know”—I kiss her cheek—“that I didn’t even give them a second thought.” I kiss her other cheek. “You don’t go after fake when you have a diamond in your hand.” I kiss her lips, softly watching her eyes. I don’t let her think; I kiss her again, this time letting my lips linger on hers.

I kiss her softly, watching her eyes till her fingers close on mine, till her hands hold mine. “You,” I tell her when she opens her eyes. “All I see is you.”

“Okay, I get it. You can stop with the lines,” she tells me, her thumb rubbing my finger.

“Not a line, babe. I will never feed you those lines. It’s the truth, no matter how much it will suck. I will never ever lie to you.” Her smile starts off slowly till it’s full blown. “Now are you going to give me my celebration surprise?”

“I guess you earned it,” she says, her head coming up so she can kiss my lips. And for the rest of the night she congratulates me more and more. So much that we almost miss the two alarms that we set.

We make it to the bus right on time. I look down at the floor while Mindy chimes in, “Seriously, how do you both sleep in?”

I’m thinking about making an excuse when Karrie leans over me. “How is it possible that I hear him snore through the walls and a door? He kept me up all night.”

I smirk at her, thinking if anyone of us snores it’s her.

“Oh, you poor thing,” Mindy says right as the bus takes off toward the airport. The rest of the team are half-up half-sleeping. It’s a travel day thankfully, so no skating till tomorrow morning.

Checking into the hotel, the rest of the team starts talking about a team dinner. It’s decided that we will all be headed to the steakhouse two streets down. Once we get in our room, we both collapse on the bed and fall asleep the second our heads hit the pillow.

We get ready by taking a shower together, which only leads to me having my dessert before my meal. I grab my jeans out of my bag while I look over at Karrie, seeing her put on a black loose skirt with a jean button-down top.

“What if it’s windy and your dress flies up?” I ask her, thinking that everyone will be seeing her ass, and I’m not okay with that.

“It’s winter in Texas, which means no wind,” she tells me while she sits down on the bed, bringing out her strappy heels and I know she will be wearing only those tonight. We walk out of the room and my hand automatically goes to grab hers, but the sound of a door opening has both of us dropping our hands and looking behind us to see who it is. Noticing an older man with his wife, we smile at them and wait for the elevator. My hand goes to her back once we get off the elevator to see most everyone waiting at the bar. I go sit with Phil and Luka while Karrie goes toward Mindy. It doesn’t take much longer before we are all on our way to the restaurant walking. I make sure I’m walking behind Karrie, just in case the wind picks up, but she is right. There’s no wind in winter in Texas.

Once we get to the restaurant, I sit next to Karrie while she sits next to Mindy.

“So, Matthew, Karrie said you agreed to the Christmas Party. I can’t tell you how thrilled I am. Lots of the big sponsors will be there. It will be a great time.” She smiles at me and I just look over at Karrie.

“Yeah, well, she did agree to be my date, so how could I say no.” I grab the water glass and take a sip.

“Agreed, really? I felt bad when I beat him at rock paper scissors and he almost cried.” Karrie sits back in her chair, smiling at me.

“I don’t care how she did it. I’m just glad she did,” Mindy says, and then they start talking about some new reality television show.

We all have a great time eating, and the bill is picked up by Mindy.

“I can’t wait for the break,” Mindy says. “I’m going to close my phone for five days straight. And sleep.”

“I can’t wait. I’m going to hit Mexico,” Karrie says while my head whips around. “I can’t wait to sink my feet in the sand.” She closes her eyes and exhales.

“Are you going to leave straight from the last game or are you going back to New York?” Mindy asks while I take in the conversation.

“No, I’m going to leave from New York. It’s easier that way. I don’t have to bring two bags of luggage. My flight is an early morning one, so I will be sipping Mai Tais by lunch.”

“Okay, girls, let’s go,” Phil says while he pushes his chair away from the table.

I don’t say much on our way back to the hotel, or that night either. Instead, I make a plan, an evil plan. A plan that will make her all mine for five days, whether she wants to be or not.
