The Handy Men by Jamie K. Schmidt (3)

Chapter Three

Dean Reynolds pushed his empty plate away from him and unbuttoned his pants. “I swear Paige makes the best lasagna ever.”

Jack nodded but was brooding into his wine. “I thought she’d come home with us. Are you sure she was watching us in the pavilion?”

Dean grinned. “She was there, just like we planned. I timed the moan perfectly.”

“I swear we were going to get caught bare-assed by Mrs. Sundby and her yappy Chow.” Jack refilled both their wineglasses.

“Paige was enjoying the show. I saw her playing with her tits while you were blowing me.” Dean smiled in remembrance. He always had a thing for redheads, and even though Paige was more of a strawberry-blond, her sweet dusting of freckles and green eyes made her an honorary redhead in his eyes.

“Fuck,” Jack spat out. “I don’t know how you didn’t haul her inside to join us.”

“I had my hands full at the time.”

“Damn it. Then why didn’t she come home with us when we asked?”

“I don’t know.” Dean tapped on the table in annoyance. “There’s something else going on there. I can’t put my finger on it.”

“You don’t think she’s seeing someone, do you?” Jack took a swig of his wine and scowled.

Dean shook his head. “Who? Mr. Carver at the bait shop? Or one of the eligible bachelors on the trawler?”

Jack snorted. “Not likely.”

The locals still saw her as a tourist, even though she had been living on the island for about a year now. Then again, it had taken them a few years to warm up to Jack and Dean, but that could be because they were either sinners in the eyes of the Lord or debauched perverts, depending on which old biddy you listened to.

“Well, I’m getting sick of all this beating around the bush. I’ve had a hard-on for her for months now.” Jack slapped the table. “Let’s just ask her outright. Do you want to fuck or not?”

Dean placed a hand over his heart. “Careful, you might make the lady swoon.”

“We both want her and she wants us.”

“Are you sure?”

“Oh yeah. No doubt in my mind.”

Dean sighed. “We can’t initiate anything until the third floor is done, because if she decides it’s too kinky or too weird, she won’t want us working on the inn. I care about her too much to leave her in the lurch.”

“We wouldn’t do that,” Jack said.

“It might not be our choice. Until the inn is done, it’s got to be her idea to screw around. After the inn is done, all bets are off,” Dean said. “I’ll carry her into the pavilion myself.”

“Do you think it would be easier on her if one of us seduced her?” Jack gathered up the plates and put them directly into the dishwasher.

“No. Not after she caught her husband cheating on her. She wouldn’t have a fling with a married man.”

“Then what makes you think she’ll have an affair with two married men?”

Dean wrapped up the leftovers in foil and handed Jack Paige’s dish to put in the dishwasher. “Because we’re going to make it perfectly clear that we want her in our lives as more than a friend. That she will complete us.” Dean made a circle with his fingers.

Jack winced. “We’re not going to say it like that, are we? Because that sounds like total new age bullshit.”

“It’s from Jerry Maguire.”

“The ‘show me the money’ movie?”

“You’re hopeless with the classics,” Dean said.

“No. The classics are movies that happened before we were born. Casablanca and Somewhere in Time.”

Dean shook his head. “Bogart didn’t get the girl, and Christopher Reeves slowly withered away and died.”

“Because of love.” Jack sighed in contentment. “Isn’t that romantic?”

“You have issues.”

“Love hurts. It’s sacrifice and pain. That’s how you know it’s real.”

“Thanks a lot,” Dean drawled.

“Not you and I, asshole.” Jack slugged him in the arm. “You’re the closest thing to perfect in my life.”

That’s why Dean kept him around. He could reduce him to a puddle with a look, a touch, and, very rarely, a sentence. Dean kissed him because it was as natural as breathing. When they first met, Dean had been working as an accountant for a nature magazine, while Jack was a freelance photographer who was dating one of the female editors. Never in a million years did Dean think Jack would be interested in a man.

“Of course,” Jack said after the sweet kiss. “Sometimes you can be a real shithead.”

And then he always had to ruin it. But that was just the way Jack dealt with strong feelings. “Oh, I’m the shithead? You’re the one who wants to woo Paige by asking her if she wants to suck your dick.”

“It’s a simple yes or no question.”

“I want to suck your dick.”

“I didn’t ask you. I know you do.” Jack kissed him again. Dean hummed in pleasure, hugging him close. He rubbed circles on Jack’s back, making Jack arch and purr like a cat. “I miss sharing a woman with you.”

Dean nodded. “It’s messy but worth it.”

“Put a towel down.”

Dean shoved him away. “That’s not what I meant, dipshit. I meant emotionally. That’s why we have to be so careful that Paige knows what she’s getting into. We’ll treat her like a queen.”

“Fuck her like porn stars.” Jack mimicked bending her over and fucking her from behind.

“And love her like she was our wife.”

A flash of pain crossed over Jack’s face. “Doesn’t work that way. Look at all the movies that end up with horrible endings, especially ones that feature couples like us. And threesomes?” He grunted in disgust. “Someone always dies or winds up hating someone.”

Dean had to admit he was right. “It doesn’t happen like that in real life with the right person.”

“Tell that to Stephanie.” Jack gave him a grim smile and brushed by him into the living room.

Ugh, Stephanie.

She had wanted a traditional marriage with one husband, but also a hot lover on the side. She figured she’d fuck around with them both and then one of them would marry her and things wouldn’t have to change too much. Neither Dean nor Jack wanted that—they loved each other too much to be anything than married to each other. If it had been legal, they would have married Stephanie as well.

It wasn’t as if they were going to take out a billboard on Main Street. She wouldn’t move in with them. Wouldn’t kiss or cuddle with Jack when they were out in public. Dean had spent most of his life pretending to be straight, but after he came out, he didn’t care what people thought. No one was going to stick him or his husband back in the closet—Jack was no one’s dirty little secret.

At the time, they were living down the street from Stephanie’s parents in a big Colonial on Dune Street that Dean had bought as an investment property. It was too big for them, but they used it in the summer as a vacation home. One of these days, they were going to start a family and would need a big house. But that was a future dream.

Dean and Jack were on the don’t-ask-don’t-tell list for many of the old time residences. Dean swore that some of them still believed they were just roommates. Because of the tension, they decided moving to the mainland to a smaller place worked out better for their sanity. They rented the house out and that, along with the side jobs they took around the island, made it so they could quit the nature magazines and be their own bosses.

“Stephanie wasn’t the right person.” Dean followed, carrying their wineglasses. It had been two years ago, and while Dean had known almost immediately it was time to move on, Jack had stubbornly insisted she would come to her senses. It broke his heart when she didn’t. They never even got a call or an email after she left.

Jack flung himself on the wide leather couch and rested his head back so he could brood at the ceiling.

Dean would have liked to take the bad memories away and replace them with good ones. Paige could very well be the missing part of them because she understood Jack and Dean were a couple. The next step was getting her to buy into the idea that they could be a threesome.

“I wish Paige was here,” Jack said. “I miss talking with her. I wonder what she’s doing now.”

Dean was happy Jack wasn’t still thinking of Stephanie. The sex between the three of them had been off the charts, but the emotional connection hadn’t been there. He knew that now, and he hoped that Jack did, too.

Dean started flipping through the movies on screen from their video library. “Hopefully getting some sleep.”

“You know what’s good for sleeping? Fucking your brains out.”

Dean had to laugh at Jack’s persistence. “All right, let’s invite her for game night tomorrow and push some boundaries, and see how she reacts. If she gives us an inch, we’ll take a mile. Sound good?”

“Yeah, I’ll put some ribs on the barbecue. She can’t resist my meat.” He cupped his package.

Dean rolled his eyes when Jack licked his lips lasciviously. “Just remember, and I know this isn’t your strong point, we have to be subtle.” Dean picked out the movie Threesome.

“No, not that one. It ends badly. We’re not going to end up like them.”

Dean would do anything to take the sadness out of Jack’s voice. “How about I just skip to the sexy parts and blow you?”

“Well, since you put it like that…” Jack set his wineglass on the table and then slid out of his pants. “I got a splinter in my knee from the pavilion floor. Maybe we should ask the town if they want us to sand it down and repaint it before the tourists get here.” He picked at it, before pulling it out with his fingernails and flicking it aside.

“Better there than your ass.” Dean set up the movie and stripped. He deliberately took his time shrugging out of his shirt and slowly unbuckling his belt. Jack’s eyes were riveted on him, and Dean couldn’t believe he was lucky enough to have a man like him in his life.

“Fuck, I like looking at you,” Jack said when Dean kicked off his jeans. “Are you sure I can’t convince you to get a tattoo?”

“My body is a temple,” Dean said, and then gestured to Jack’s colorful chest. “I’ll look at your hotness all day, but I’m not putting a mark on my skin.”

“How about I do it, then?” Jack yanked Dean back down on the couch and kissed him roughly.

Dean pushed back until their teeth clacked. He was as frustrated as Jack was about Paige. He wanted her between them. He wanted to hear her moan when they both touched her. Dean rubbed himself over Jack.

Jack smacked his palm on Dean’s ass. Dean reached over and pulled Jack’s stiff cock. He liked playing rough. Usually, they both took turns with each other, playing hard and fast. When they had a woman, though, their lovemaking tended to be gentler. Dean missed that sweetness and that slow pace.

“Suck my cock,” Jack ordered, pushing him down.

Dean went eagerly. He was still worked up about seeing Paige watching them. Both he and Jack loved an audience, but with Paige it was even more intimate. Jack pressed play on the remote and Lara Flynn Boyle and her two lovers writhed together on the screen.

“I like Y Tu Mama Tambien better,” Jack said, his voice husky with desire.

Taking Jack deep in his throat, he swallowed. Then Dean moved up his cock with slow, hard suction.

“But that also ended badly. Why isn’t there ever a happily ever after for people like us?”

Because Jack was guiding his head to take all of him, Dean couldn’t answer.

“Why wasn’t it enough for Stephanie?” he whispered.

Dean didn’t want to answer, even when Jack’s hands fell away and he was able to move his head freely on Jack’s cock. Stephanie had wanted to marry Dean and have Jack move out for appearance’s sake, but the thought of pushing him aside had been too painful, and Dean had asked Jack to marry him instead of Stephanie.

Because Stephanie had broken Jack’s heart, they would have to be more guarded with Paige. But Dean didn’t want a convenient threesome; he wanted a permanent lover. He wanted a wife to go with his husband. And so did Jack—even if he wouldn’t admit it.

To wipe away the memories, he concentrated on giving his husband the best blow job of his life. Dean loved the salty-sweet taste of him and the way Jack held his breath when the pleasure built to a fever pitch.

Jack grunted and slapped Dean’s ass, gripping it before hitting him again. “I like putting marks on your body. You like it, too, don’t you?”

Moaning in agreement, Dean bobbed his head faster over Jack’s cock. Would Paige get scared off if they asked her to join in? Were they crazy to try again with another woman? It was just about perfect the way it was. They didn’t need a woman, but they wanted one. Both of them were bisexual and had shared women even before they started dating.

Dean would never forget the first time Jack kissed him. The lady they’d gone home with had fallen asleep, but Jack and Dean were still too wired. It started out as a friendly argument over who was going to shower first and escalated into a little pushing and shoving, and Dean pinned Jack to the floor in triumph. Of course, looking back, it was obvious what happened next. Like straight guys wrestle naked all the time, right?

Jack had kissed him and they wound up rolling around on the floor while their lover snored. He bottomed for Jack that night because it was his first time with a man, but they experimented until Jack loved being a switch as much as Dean did.

“Yeah,” Jack growled, continuing to slap Dean’s ass.

The sting of the blows was worth the warmth on his ass cheeks. Dean’s cock ground into the leather of the couch as he slowly engulfed Jack’s cock with his mouth, teasing him with his tongue and just a touch of teeth. The soft leather felt good and he rocked his hips into it to increase the friction.

“You getting off on the leather?” Jack asked, slapping him again.

Dean could only grunt. The moans on the screen were getting to him.

When they first met Paige last summer, the three of them immediately hit it off. She was funny and sexy, but under that, there was a layer of sadness that had intrigued him and pinged something inside him in return. It took a while, but she finally let them get close to her, and their friendship took off. Jack hadn’t been sure the exact moment when friendship turned to lust, but Dean knew it was the day at the beach for him.

They had been lying out on the sand, jumping in the water every now and then to cool off. Paige wore a sleek one-piece that clung in all the right places. Dean couldn’t take his eyes off her creamy skin, and luckily, his sunglasses hid his gaze, so she hadn’t caught him ogling her. He found himself wanting to lick the salt off her curvy body, nibble on her pebbled nipples, and sink into the molten heat of her. Jack noticed and at first gave him a little attitude about it. But when they were eating ice cream cones on the boardwalk later, Dean caught Jack staring at Paige licking her cone with her cute pink tongue as if he was picturing it on his cock.

From that point on, they decided to seduce her. Unfortunately, they weren’t very good at it, or she was just thick-headed and didn’t get that they wanted her as more than a friend. The fact that she responded to their little kisses and caresses encouraged him. Now that he’d seen her playing with herself while watching them, he could work with that. She obviously liked what she saw. If Paige were here now, they would put on another personal show for her until she felt comfortable about joining in, and they’d spend the rest of the evening exploring one another’s bodies. He’d kiss every inch of her and see what made her scream. But she wasn’t here, and when they were at the bed and breakfast it had to be all business.

“You’re going to make me come,” Jack whispered. “It’s damn good, but I wish I had Paige’s tits in my face and my fingers on her clit.” So he was fantasizing about her, too? They had to have her soon or they’d both go nuts.

Picturing both of them sucking on her nipples at the same time while she stroked their cocks, one in each of her hands, Dean moaned. His hips rubbed faster on the couch, wishing he was sinking inside her wet heat instead of the yielding leather. Jack’s hand cracked down on his ass again and Dean leapt up snarling. He pulled Jack onto the floor. Reaching into the end table, he pulled out a tube of lube and a condom.

“Yeah, get me nice and slick for you,” Jack said. “You think Paige would do this for you so she could watch you fuck me?”

Dean nodded. He unwrapped the condom over his hard member and glided the thick ointment all over it, thinking of how Paige would react. She hadn’t shied away tonight. She watched their performance, riveted.

He would love to have gotten her off. Hell, they both would have. She hadn’t been shocked, so maybe she had a bit of kinkiness that would allow her to accept a different type of relationship. She wouldn’t have stayed if she hadn’t wanted them. Dean had plans to explore every inch of her and see just where her limits were. He’d like her to ride his cock while he blew Jack. Maybe have Jack eat her pussy while he fucked him.

Jack’s entire body shuddered when Dean’s lube-covered fingers stretched him, preparing him.

“I love you,” Jack said, kissing Dean. “But if you don’t fuck me now, I’ll go insane.” Jack gave Dean’s ass another hard slap.

Bending Jack in half, Dean slid deep inside him with long practice.

“Fuck,” Jack breathed out as pain danced into pleasure.

“I’ll never get tired of seeing that look on your face,” Dean said.

When he was sure Jack was used to him, he braced himself on his hands and rocked into him hard. It had always been like this for them. Savage coupling. Never getting enough of each other. Wanting every little pleasure and debauchery to come to them.

And they loved making a woman come. They liked taking turns, watching each other. Then, when she was ready and half out of her mind with pleasure, they’d take her both at the same time. They would have to go easy on each other when Paige was watching so she didn’t spook. But for right now, Dean had a lot of frustration he wanted to take out, and Jack’s moans only encouraged him.

Dean eased up when Jack fumbled for his own cock, allowing him to pull it with jerky rhythms. He pictured the two of them taking Paige. Him in her ass and Jack in her pussy, Paige’s soft body between them. Jack would kiss her and Dean would hold them both in his arms. Gritting his teeth, Dean’s breathing became harsh. Pleasure danced along his insides and his whole body shook.

Jack swore and snarled, bucking up into him. “Come,” he ordered.

Shuddering, Dean came with a satisfied rush. That was the problem about public displays. You had to be quick so you didn’t get caught. They’d left things half-finished back in the pavilion, but now everything was as it should be.

Jack’s body spasmed and he came over his hand and chest, roaring into the room.
