The Ring: A BWWM Sports Romance by Imani King (19)

Epilogue

Kylie

Two months later

The feel of the sports car smoothly speeding down the highway has lulled me into a half-sleep, and my mind has been drifting to the insanity of the last two months. Adam’s win in Vegas, my promotion to senior agent at NDB, Adam being named “Sexiest Man Alive” and all of the chaos that came with that and then… our wedding.

Our beautiful wedding with only our friends and family, at a stunning old mansion in Chicago. Lyric flew in to be my matron of honor, and Hazel stood next to me for the entire ceremony, holding my hand. If there was a more handsome groom in the history of the world than Adam on our wedding day, I couldn’t think of him. Everything had been so perfect, from the ceremony to the reception. And now Adam is whisking me away on a “secret” honeymoon, while Hazel stays with Lyric in California and meets famous singers and actors until her little heart’s content. Adam wanted our honeymoon to be a surprise, but I think he also wanted to spare me the stress of having to plan it, which was possibly the most wonderful thing he could have done.

“We’re here, sleeping beauty!” Adam gently shakes me back to full consciousness as the car begins to slow down. I slowly open my eyes, and the sun temporarily blinds me.

We’ve been driving for what feels like an eternity, and after the excitement of the wedding, I must have passed out completely. I fumble around for my sunglasses before finding them in the cup holder next to my seat. Putting them on, I finally open my eyes, hop out of the car, and look around.

In front of me, a gorgeous Spanish townhouse is surrounded by palm trees, roses, and other lush plants growing from all directions. The California flag flies on a flagpole in the driveway, my first hint as to our destination. In the distance, I can hear the sound of waves crashing against sand and rocks. I look back toward the car, and see that Adam is already walking toward a pair of finely crafted glass doors made of dark, shiny wood that perfectly complement the desert landscape.

“Where are we?” I ask, following him inside as he unlocks the door with keys he pulls out of his bag. We enter into a spacious living room, where huge bouquets of colorful flowers offset the warm, inviting neutrals of the building and furniture. On the breakfast bar, I see a bottle of champagne with some chocolates waiting to welcome us into the space. I pick up a caramel chocolate and begin to slowly wandering around, passing through the kitchen and dining room before finding a small hallway. Where can we be that is close enough to hear water?

I find Adam in an enormous master suite, complete with a private fireplace and large balcony facing west toward the slowly fading sun. I walk outside and notice that our building is up high, almost as if it’s on a cliff. The sun is glinting off of water several miles away, and if I strain, I can faintly hear laughter from people down below. More inland, I can see a small town full of buildings in the similar Spanish style just off the coast, with cars moving in and out on their way to other destinations. The entire sight is breathtaking.

“How do you like Santa Barbara so far?” Adam asks playfully, reaching around my waist from behind. “I thought I would surprise you with a week of relaxation, complete with beach, ocean, and maybe some wine tastings. That is, if we even leave this room!” He playfully nips at my neck.

“This is stunning!” I respond. “In all the years I lived in Los Angeles, I never made it out here!” I start to wander around the space, looking for the guidebooks to tell me more about the city. “What do you know about this place?” I ask.

“I’ve been up and down the California coast, but nothing beats this town,” Adam responds happily. “Between the incredible restaurants, the great wineries, and the unbeatable landscape, this area is a dream come true.”

I am grinning from ear to ear. “I can’t wait to explore! Thank you so much! This is… it’s… it’s perfect!”

Adam laughs heartily and takes me into his arms. “Nothing makes me happier than to see you smile. You are my everything.” He kisses me tenderly. “But before we go exploring, there are a few things we need to take care of first, Mrs. Burnham. Count to ten, and then follow me

He walks toward the bathroom, where I see a faint glow coming from the darkened doorway. I slowly walk in behind him, and stop to catch my breath as I look inside. Adam has covered the bathroom with dozens of tapered candles. The enormous Jacuzzi tub has rose petals floating in the water and is reflecting the flames, creating a soft, warm glow throughout the space. Two glasses of wine have been poured and are sitting on the steps leading into the tub.

“Would you care to join me?” Adam asks, removing his robe. I put my hand on his chest to stop him for a moment, admiring his perfectly muscular body in the candlelight. Adam reaches behind me and unties my sarong dress from around my neck, letting it fall to the floor. We stand in front of each other, slowly running our fingers across each other’s bodies in wonder.

“I am the luckiest man in the world,” Adam breathes.

I walk up the stairs, still holding Adam’s hand, and slowly sink into the warm bathtub. The water is lightly scented with lavender, and I almost instantly relax. Adam sits behind me, pulling my body back toward him as he rubs my shoulders.

“Oh, Adam, this feels amazing,” I whisper. Adam bends down and kisses my ear before slowly traveling down to my neck and shoulders. His hands slide down my arms, reaching around to my breasts. I lean back into him as he rubs both of my nipples, teasing them to attention.

“Oh, Adam,” I breathe, feeling myself become wet with excitement, my heart beginning to race. He takes this as his cue to keep moving downward, one of his hands releasing my breast and sliding down my stomach to my slit. His index finger stops on my clit, which he begins to lightly flick, quickly bringing every one of my nerves to the edge of explosion.

I swiftly turn around, getting on my knees, making my way to his lap. I throw myself against him, kissing him roughly as I shove my hips against his erect cock. Adam is surprised by my haste. “Don’t you want to take your time?” he asks.

“I’ve waited patiently since our wedding for this moment. I can’t take it anymore. I need you now.”

Adam immediately complies, reaching around and grasping me by my butt, lifting me up and pushing me down on his cock. I reach behind him, taking a firm hold onto the edge of the bathtub for leverage as I begin bouncing myself up and down on him. Adam finds my clit underwater as I ride him, and determinedly places his thumb on me, letting me grind against him as I move.

“Adam, oh my God, that feels incredible!” I cry out, becoming incredibly sensitive with the increased friction. I begin to bounce faster, pushing his manhood in and out of my body as he plays with me. Finally, I feel a wave of energy and warmth come over me, and I tighten my grip on the bathtub as my orgasm rushes through my body. I throw my head back in elation, practically screaming in my release. Adam grabs my hips and holds me down as he pumps himself into me, finishing almost in perfect harmony.

I sit back, closing my eyes for a moment before looking around. Water has splashed all over the floor, extinguishing some of the candles.

“Oh no,” I say quietly. “I hope I haven’t ruined your surprise.”

Adam leans forward toward me, kisses me, and smiles. “There is nothing in this world you could possibly ruin for me when everything you do is perfect.” Then he pauses for a minute and looks at me curiously. “Why did you say it like that? My surprise? Do you have a surprise for me too, wife?” he asks with a wink.

I brush his long hair out of his face and kiss the tip of his nose. “As a matter of fact…”

“The suspense is killing me,” he says with a smile as he kisses down my shoulder.

“Well. You know how we were talking in the car about what to bring Hazel home from the trip?”

Adam pulls back, an eyebrow raised. “Yeah?”

“I actually already had it with me.”

Adam shakes his head with a laugh. “You’re killing me, beautiful. What are you talking about?”

“Do you think she’ll be excited that we’re bringing her home a little brother or sister?”

Adam’s eyes go wide, and for a moment, I think he’s unhappy. But then he gets a smile that spreads from ear to ear. “Kylie, you’ve given me—given Hazel—a life I never imagined for either of us again. I love you. To the moon and back.”

I throw my arms around him, not caring that I send more water splashing out of the tub.

“To the moon and back,” I whisper in his ear, overwhelmed with a happiness I didn’t know I could ever feel.

My husband. My Hazel. My baby. Life is perfect.
