CHAPTER NINE
Nathan glanced at Kerry as he reached for her hand. Her hand was so small, soft and warm. Like the rest of her.
This was work to her. She was doing this for the money.
Nathan's frown deepened as he drove on. Was Kerry in debt? She probably needed a large sum of money urgently, but what did she need the money for?
Was it to bail out a good-for-nothing boyfriend or lover? Did Kerry belong to someone else?
Nathan let out a growl at the thought. He forced himself to release his grip on her hand when she made a small sound of alarm.
“Nathan...is something wrong?” she asked worriedly.
“Do you have a man?”
“What?” Kerry's gray eyes rounded.
“Are you doing this for a man?” he snarled.
“I don't know what you're talking about...”
“You need the money. That's why you signed the contract with Patricia. To be a Gem.”
Kerry swallowed audibly. “I...it's none of your business.” She snatched her hand away and folded her arms tightly. “But no, I'm not doing this for some bloody man.”
After a long silence, she whispered, “It's for my sister.”
Nathan turned to her but she was looking out the window. Her sister. He didn't know why her sister needed the money but it wasn't any of his business. Her body language told him that she was done talking.
Well, family was family, and he saw that Kerry was willing to put herself up for auction at The Ring to help her sister even though she was terrified.
He didn't think he could want her more, but he did. Kerry was someone who would do anything for the people she loved. And loyalty was a trait Nathan admired and valued.
Kerry was a very special woman, and he knew that he had to make her his. And not just for tonight. His wolf agreed.
Seeing Kerry walking down the stage and smelling her sweet, feminine scent had pulled his wolf to the surface. He was hard as a rock and his wolf was clawing furiously at him. His need and hunger for her was driving him out of his mind. He'd wanted to grab Kerry and fuck her right there in The Ring. At the same time, he wanted to claw out the eyes of every single male who had seen Kerry's delectable, perfect body.
He had to leave with Kerry before he trashed Patricia's club and committed murder and assault. Kerry was his, every curvy inch of her belonged to him.
He would have to make sure that she never stepped foot in The Ring again. She was never to expose herself like that again!
Nathan suppressed a growl and concentrated on the road ahead. Her scent and warmth was maddening. Being in the car with her, sharing such a small space with her and yet not being able to touch her and take her was sheer, excruciating torment.
Kerry was leaning her head against the window and she seemed reluctant to tell him anything more about herself. She was deep in her own thoughts, and she kept pulling his jacket up over her shoulders.
He liked that she was wearing his jacket. He wanted to wrap her up in his scent and leave his mark on her body.
Tonight he would have her body. He had won the bid, and Kerry had signed the contract. She knew what to expect. But he would make it so good for her. He was going to take her, but before that he was going to pleasure her out of her mind.
Nathan slotted his car into the parking lot in front of his condo and got out. Kerry didn't say a word when he helped her out and led her to the private elevator at the side of the building. The elevator took them straight up to his penthouse.
Kerry looked around his luxurious apartment in awe as she followed him across the spacious living room. She gawked at the state-of-the-art home entertainment system and stared at the tasteful, luxurious furnishings.
“Wow,” she breathed.
Nathan pulled her to him and held her flush against him. He would show her around later but right now, his need and desire for her was overpowering all his other senses.
Kerry gasped when she felt how painfully hard he was for her. “Kerry,” he said hoarsely, nuzzling her neck.
Kerry quivered and tilted her head automatically to allow him better access. The Gems were to obey and fulfill the whims and wishes of their bidders for one night. She wouldn't dare push him away or say no to him.
But that wasn't what Nathan wanted.
He wanted her to want him back.
He wanted her to beg him to take her, and scream his name when he was inside her.
Nathan tilted her face up to him and kissed the corner of her mouth. He took her mouth slowly, savoring the sweet taste and feel of her. Kerry's lips parted and she returned his kiss hesitantly at first. Nathan coaxed her with his lips and tongue, gradually deepening the kiss.
Kerry's body relaxed and she kissed him back with growing ardor. Her hands slid up his arms to his shoulders as she began to melt against him.
Nathan stroked his tongue across her lower lip, gently teasing her before he pushed into her mouth. Kerry released a soft moan as their tongues touched and tangled, igniting her desire. Nathan moved his hands down her body, enjoying the softness of her body as he caressed her curves.
He groaned as he kneaded her breasts. He wanted to taste her. Growling, he lowered his head and peeled off her nipple pasties with his teeth. Her dark nipples were hard and erect, and he closed his lips over them desperately, hungrily.
Kerry cried out when he bit and sucked her sensitive, pebbled peaks. He kept licking and suckling her, making her whimper with need.
Nathan almost lost all control when he scented her feminine moisture between her legs. She was wet, so wet for him.
Nathan walked Kerry backwards towards his bedroom, his mouth and hands never leaving her.
