Kassie

Luc’s hand moved around her waist, stopping on her ass, and his strong arms pulled her tight against his body. His lips were warm and soft, and his tongue danced with hers. He tasted like coffee and smelled of faint lingering cologne from last night. His large build towered over her, his weight surrounded her, and she liked being in his arms.

A moan formed in the back of her throat as his lips moved with hers. Her heart skipped a beat, and her breathing became rapid as her need for him intensified. She craved to be as close to him as possible. As if he could read her mind, Luc hiked her up onto his hips. His hard-on nestled between her legs, just where she wanted it. Winding her arms around his neck, using his shoulders for support, she kissed him fiercely. This was what she’d wanted last night. Holding off had only fueled the fire in her body.

Kassie wrapped her legs around him, and he carried her to the bedroom. His lips didn’t leave hers until they were at the bed. With one last swipe of his tongue and a gentle parting movement of his lips, he set her on the mattress, before dropping a kiss on her forehead.

Kassie sat on her knees and stared at the beautiful man in front of her. Thoughts of him crawling on top of her had fire rushing through her veins, engulfing her entire body. Luc paused at the end of the bed as she watched him. His jaw ticked and the dimple on his cheek made her heart race. Once he peeled off his t-shirt and tossed it to the floor, he exposed the large eagle tattoo on his bicep and a flaming electric guitar tattoo that peeked out of his blue jeans at his groin. The lower tattoo teased her, making her want to see more of it. Biting her bottom lip, she tried to hold back her desire, but her body ached for his and she couldn’t wait one more second.

Kassie unbuttoned his jeans and pulled down the zipper. Luc, who hadn’t taken his eyes off her, had his bottom lip between his teeth, and growled like an animal watching his prey. He reached for his wallet and pulled out a little foil packet. Before he scooped her up, he quickly dropped his pants to the floor, and tossed his wallet on top.

Like an animal, he dragged her up the bed with his body molded on top of hers, and set the foil condom wrapper on the bed. His strong arms wrapped around her middle, and his muscular legs sat on either side of her. She ran her hand up his bare chest and could feel his heart pounding under her fingers. His dark eyes were fixed on her, and she enjoyed being the object of his attention.

Luc’s fingers tugged at her shirt, and he pulled it over her head and tossed it to the floor, adding it to the pile of discarded clothes. Kassie gasped as the chill in the air hit her skin, and her nipples hardened. In contrast to the coolness of the air-conditioned room, Luc dropped hot kisses on her neck and chest, on a path to her breasts.

The scorching warmth of his lips sent goosebumps along her flesh. Covering one nipple with his mouth, Luc’s tongue played with the taut bud, creating an overwhelming sensation, not unlike a reflex, that made her legs spread, allowing him to nestle his hips further between her thighs.

Her brain wanted to take this slow, but her body wanted all of him as soon as possible. She made the choice to pull his focus away from the delicious attention he was giving her nipples, because she needed more. Responding to her request, he slid his body up hers, and his mouth took over hers with unhurried eagerness. The hunger she had for him seemed to pulse with heat through her veins. Hating to interrupt the erotic way his tongue danced with hers, she kissed him back with just as much intensity.

She ground her hips against his, needing to feel him. But the friction wasn’t close to being enough. Slowing the kiss down, she moved her mouth to his cheek, tracing her lips along his jawline until she got to his ear.

Luc wasn’t stopping his exploration of her body, and dropped kisses along her neck, his teeth grazing her skin as he went.

Finding her voice, she whispered in his ear, “Luc, I need you, all of you, now.” Kassie tugged at her panties, but she wasn’t having any luck taking them off with him on top of her. In one quick movement, Luc hooked his finger under the elastic of her waistband and dragged her panties to her ankles, before tossing them away. Taking a long look at her naked body, he licked his lips before tearing his boxers off and slipping on the condom.

His stare trained on her was focused and devilish, like an animal waiting to pounce. Securing her under him again with his strong arms, he dipped his head to her stomach, before his lips kissed a sexy trail up her body until he reached her mouth again.

Gripping his muscular shoulders, she couldn’t get the kiss deep enough to quench her desire. His kiss was captivating, and his erection teased her opening. Her body was on fire, and every muscle ached for him.

Luc tangled a strong hand into her hair, deepening his kiss while securing her body to him with the other. With one smooth movement, he pushed inside her. Gasping at his size and the sheer pleasure that rang through her body, she pulled her knees up around his middle. He entered her fully, causing her gasp to turn into a primal cry.

The kiss had ended, and Luc was bracing himself against the headboard now, watching her under him, with a sexy gleam in his eye. Needing something to grip onto, she pulled at the bed sheets as he rocked into her, his movements getting stronger and more intense, while the desire in her body burned out of control. Not being able to wait anymore, a moan escaped her lips.

“That’s it, sweets.” Luc grinned deliciously. “Let me give you the pleasure you deserve. Go ahead, I want to watch you climax. I want to see what you look like when I make you come.”

She was on the verge. If she let herself go, he could make her come right now. Her voice was barely a squeak now, as she asked, “Are you ready?”

Luc slowly shook his head. His hand slid between her legs, and found her clit. He made gentle massaging circles with his thumb as he spoke. “Let me take care of you first, sweets. There’ll be plenty of time for me later. I’m in no rush. We have all day. Let go, baby, let me see you come because of me.”

His added actions ramped up her pleasure, and his words covered her like hot lava as she came hard under his thrusts. Writhing at the satisfying sensation that surged through her body, she moved against him, over and over, until her body was spent.

Luc fell to her side and laid his head on her stomach. “Glad you waited?”

“Oh, hell yes.” She wasn’t drunk last night, but if the alcohol would’ve robbed her of any of the intense sensation that he had just given her, then she was very glad that he’d convinced her to wait. “But you didn’t…”

Taking her breast in his hand, twisting her nipple between his forefinger and thumb, he chuckled. “Sweets, don’t worry. I’m not done yet.”

Rolling her beaded nipple between his fingers sent chills down her body, and rekindled the fire between her legs. Propping himself up on one elbow, displaying his sinful smirk, his eyes raked over her. It was as if she could feel his stare run over her skin, leaving a trail of goosebumps behind.

Her need quickly grew to unimaginable heights. “Luc,” she said, in a breathy request.

“Not yet, baby. I want to watch you come again.”

Again? This brought a whole new meaning to ladies first. “But what about—”

Not letting her even ask the question, Luc covered her mouth with his, quickly invading her with his tongue. Concentrating on his lips caressing hers, she didn’t realize his hand was moving south until he lightly ran a single finger between her legs.

Not being able to stand the intense playfulness as he made small circles around her sensitive skin, she kissed him deeper. She couldn’t help but moan into his mouth as he slowly teased her. Kassie moved her hips, trying to quench the throbbing need between her thighs. Luc sat back and watched her twist and turn. Apparently, he liked watching her squirm for him, because his hard erection was pressed against her thigh and it seemed to twitch with delight.

After what felt like forever, Luc moved on top of her, and slowly pushed inside her again. The intensity was almost greater than the first time, even though she was expecting it. He filled her fully, and she was already on the doorstep of another orgasm.

“Go ahead, baby. Come for me.”

Without another word, Luc sat back on his calves, grabbed her hips and secured her to him as he thrust hard into her. His dark eyes never left her as the orgasm came hard and fast. She stiffened against him, the sensation surging though her body.

Luc swiftly laid her back on the bed and covered her body with his. His movements started slow. His eyes drifted shut, his face tightened, and his jaw clenched, putting that dimple on display. When he opened his eyes, his movements became primal, sweat dripped down his forehead, and his cheeks flushed. The hard thrusts had her body buzzing. With a grunt and a groan, Luc climaxed as he rocked into her. The force of the thrusting and feel of him exploding inside her had her spiraling into yet another orgasm of her own.

A squeal escaped her lips as her body shook under the weight of him, and they released, satisfied, together in one final grinding movement.

Exhausted and spent, Kassie sighed heavily.

Luc rolled off her, pulling her with him until she was nestled beside him, tucked comfortably under his arm. “Wow,” he whispered.

Closing her eyes, she smiled against his chest. He may just have ruined her for every other man alive. Kassie lay with her head on his chest, and her breathing finally slowed.

“Tired, sweets?” he asked.

She shrugged. “You are…” Her voice trailed off as she tried to not fall asleep just yet.

“Amazing?” Luc tried to finish her sentence for her.

Managing a smile in her sleepy delirium, she finished her comment. “Perfect.”

Kassie’s doorbell rang, followed by pounding on the door and Kaden’s voice bellowing. “Kassie, I know you’re there. Open up!”

She looked across the bed at Luc. “He would show up right now,” she whispered with annoyance. Rested, she was hoping for another round with Luc. But her brother arriving here with a vengeance crushed that hope. At least for now.

Luc ran his hand through his hair and pulled the covers over him. “At least he didn’t show up about an hour ago.” He wiggled his eyebrows.

“True. But waiting another hour would’ve been ideal, too.” Kassie flirted. She couldn’t get enough of him. She had almost forgotten why she fought so hard to keep this man at arm’s length. Moving in for another kiss, she bit at his lips, but was interrupted by more pounding on the door and yelling. That was the reason.

Her brother wasn’t going to go away; Kassie knew better than that. “Ugh! Better go get this over with.” After giving Luc one more kiss, she slid out of bed and pulled on her clothes. She glanced in the mirror to make sure her t-shirt and shorts didn’t look like she’d just crawled out of bed, since she had. “You should probably get dressed, but stay here. He’ll leave once he’s all yelled out. He doesn’t need to know you’re here, or that we… you know.” Her brother really didn’t need to know that. He was mad enough as it was, and he didn’t need any more reason to want to kill Luc.

Barefoot, she slowly walked towards the front door, not wanting to do this right now. Her sluggish moves were on purpose. Maybe he’d leave before she got to the door. Now she was regretting giving him the key to get into the apartment complex without being buzzed in. Leaving him to steam in the lobby worked much more in her favor than having him right outside her door. The only thing keeping him out now was the chain lock.

Avoiding this conversation would’ve been ideal, but not realistic. “I’m coming, keep your shirt on, bro.” She unhurriedly unlocked the door, pulled it open, and walked back towards her kitchen. Kassie skipped her normal greeting and hug. By turning away from him, she avoided the look of disappointment in his eyes for another second or two.

She slid onto a bar stool and rested her elbows on the kitchen island. She picked at a donut, while Kaden let himself in and slammed the door behind him. Taking a deep breath, she tried not to let Kaden get to her. Her body was still in a state of bliss after time with Luc, and she didn’t want that ruined.

“Kass, I can’t believe you brought him,” Kaden grumbled. He paced the length of her kitchen, running his hand through his messy hair. “But even more than that, I can’t believe that you are the girl he’s been talking about. That bastard. He dangled it right in front of my nose.”

She looked towards the closed bedroom door, wishing she could be back in there instead of out here. Realizing there were two coffee mugs on the counter, she nonchalantly leaped to that part of the counter and slid one into the sink as Kaden kept raging. With any luck, he wouldn’t notice. “Really? No hello or good morning? You just bust in here and start bitching at me like the fun police? That’s pretty rude.”

“It’s more like afternoon. Be thankful I waited this long to come over.” Kaden huffed and glared at her. She wasn’t able to avoid his disapproving eyes on her. His face was red, and his nostrils flared with anger.

“Yeah, tell your wife thanks. I’m sure she wouldn’t let you come storming over here first thing.” She knew she was right by the stunned look on her brother’s face. “Have you been up all night stressing over this? I mean, it was your party. You should’ve been enjoying yourself. I left to avoid this.” She pointed between the two of them.

She didn’t think it was possible, but her brother’s face became even redder. His voice was stern. “Kassie, watch it. And this”—he mimicked her motion between them— “is unavoidable. And yes, I was up all night. Do you blame me? I was worried about my little sister!”

Bored with this argument, she sat back down at the counter. Kaden was pacing the kitchen now like a caged animal. Just as she was ready to snap back at Kaden, he stopped dead in his tracks and was staring at something behind her. Kaden’s eyes grew wider than she’d ever seen them before.

Shit. Please say he didn’t… She turned around to see that her fear was spot on.

“G’Morning, O’Conner.” Luc stood in the doorway of her kitchen, grinning an evil and delicious grin. He was shirtless, barefoot, and his jeans button was still undone, along with his belt. His t-shirt was tossed over his shoulder, allowing the tattoo by his groin to stick out like a sore thumb. “Or should I say good afternoon?”

“Oh my god…” Kassie dropped her head into her hands. There is going to be a duel to the death in the middle of my kitchen.

“Hey there, sweets.” Luc kissed her on her forehead before grabbing a donut and sitting down beside Kassie. With his mouth full of donut, he held out the partially-eaten donut and asked, “Donut, Kaden?”

“What in the hell? What is he doing here? And that’s the same shirt he had on last— Kassie, are you out of your damn mind? You’re not a bunny!” Kaden complained, once all the pieces fell into place.

“Why would you even say that? Are you worried about me or how I’d make you look if I was a bunny? Because all I ever think about is you and what will make you mad, or what will be okay to do in the big book of rules by Kaden? What is your problem, anyway? You’re the one who told me to bring a date or you were going to set me up with someone. So, I brought a date.”

Her brother was infuriating sometimes. She knew this conversation was going to happen when she stormed out of the party last night. Kaden had to flex his big brother muscles, but it was still aggravating. “And by the way, I am allowed to date whoever I want.”

“Well, if she’s doing this just to spite you, Kaden, then I owe you a thank you card, like a big, fat, thank you.” Luc nodded as he exaggerated his words and smirked at Kaden.

Kassie swatted at Luc to shut him up, but missed. “Really? Luc, you’re not helping!” She frantically shook her head. “And Kaden, why are you acting like I did something wrong?”

Kaden kept all his attention on Kassie, almost ignoring Luc. But his face continued to get redder and redder. “Kass, are you serious? You have no idea what kind of guy he is. He’s going to use you and toss you aside like all the others.”

“Um, dude. Rude. You do know I’m sitting right here. Right?” Luc remarked.

“You don’t know anything about him!” Kaden yelled, ignoring Luc.

“Maybe I don’t, but isn’t that what getting to know someone is all about? Finding out who they are and what they’re like?” Her brother was being unreasonable, and it was causing her blood pressure to rise. She looked at Luc and smiled, then took his hand. “I like him.”

“But he’s—”

“He’s what, Kaden? What? Kaden, you used to be just like him. Maybe worse. You and Dom were a mess. But it didn’t mean you were a bad person. Dom either. You forget that I was there with you for the early years, and later I watched you two act like fools on social media. You grew up and you changed.”

“Bu—”

“No, Kaden. Just no. You might be my big brother, but you can’t change my mind.” Kassie jumped off the stool and stood beside Luc.

“I just want you to listen to reason. He isn’t for you.” Kaden still directed his words only to her. “You deserve someone so much better than him.”

Hello—still right here,” Luc interjected.

“And how do you know that he’s not for me?” Kassie moved closer to Luc and he circled his arm around her waist.

“Because you’re my little sister!” Kaden grunted in frustration.

“Don’t you think I know that? I’ve always been Kaden O’Conner’s little sister. I’ll always be your little sister, and forever branded as such. That’s how people see me, and that’s fine. Being Kaden’s younger sister is all I know how to be, and I’m okay with that. But someday I’ll be someone’s wife and that—”

“Woah!” Kaden held his hands up in front of him, and grimaced. He was so overdramatic. “Let’s slow down just a bit. You’re no one’s wife anytime soon.”

Kassie rolled her eyes. Her brother’s words were comical. “No. But someday I will be. And you can’t dictate every guy that I’m interested in. I’m not going to ask your permission to date someone. I told you, I like Luc, and that’s all that matters.”

Kaden let out a heavy sigh. The big brother glare on his face annoyed Kassie. “If he hurts you, I’ll kill him.” Kaden’s scowl landed on Luc.

“Oh, for goodness sake. Cut out the caveman crap, Kaden. I’m a big girl, and I can take care of myself. In case you missed it, I’ve grown up. I’ve had to do a lot of that with losing dad and then mom getting sick, not to mention our living between the US and Canada. This is my life, Kaden, and I like Luc.”

Kassie swore that her brother was going to stomp his feet like a little boy.

“He knows better. He knows all about the code. And he knows this is wrong.” Kaden didn’t have to direct the comment to anyone; they all knew it was meant for Luc.

“The code, oh my god. I hate that damn code! I’m pretty sure no one actually follows it. Shouldn’t it be up to me who I date, not some dumb-ass, age-old, out-of-touch bro code? Kaden, I’m a person, not a possession. I have my own mind and my own heart. Maybe I lead with my heart. Maybe I’ll get hurt because of it. But that’s a lesson for me to learn.”

“I just don’t understand. You were never interested in hockey players before.” Kaden acted as though she was never allowed to change her mind.

“You’re right, I never was. It’s not the occupation that attracted me.” She had long stayed away from hockey boys for this exact reason. Before Luc, it was never worth the fight.

Kaden grunted, unapprovingly. It did nothing but annoy Kassie. She found herself taking deep breaths to keep control of her emotions. She loved Kaden but wished he would just shut up right now.

“What about Sam? He’s married to Tyler’s sister, isn’t he?”

Kaden shook his head and ignored her attempt to make sense. “We’re not talking about them. We’re talking about you.”

“You aren’t going to micromanage my life for me. I never let you do it before, and I’m certainly not letting you do it now.”

“Fine.” Kaden shuffled his feet and stared at the floor. Kassie knew better than to think anything was fine.

“You want a donut?” Luc asked again, not to break the tension, but solely to be an ass.

Kassie ignored Luc for the moment. He wasn’t making this any easier on himself, but at the same time, her brother needed to just chill. She walked up to her brother. Her voice was calm, and she made a point to no longer yell. Sometimes an angry whisper was scarier anyway. “You deal with your household, and I’ll deal with mine. No friendly brawls in practice, and no accidently injuring Luc to send a message.”

Kaden shook his head. “Sorry, Kass. On the ice, it’s just me and him.” Kaden gave Luc a look of death before he stormed out of her apartment, no goodbyes, just slamming the door behind him.

“Well, that was fun,” Luc said after Kaden was gone.

“I thought I told you to stay in the bedroom.”

“You did.” Luc wrapped his arms around her and pulled her to him. “But I couldn’t let him talk to you like that. It wasn’t fair.”

Kassie put her palms on Luc’s chest. “Luc, I know you mean well, but he’s my brother. I can handle myself. Plus, his bark is worse than his bite. He just needs to say his piece, even if it is annoying.”

“Oh, I have no doubt that you can handle yourself, sweets. I just didn’t like that you had to be the one getting yelled at. I’m part of this, too. He didn’t need to zero in on only you.”
