Boogeyman's Dream (Devils Rejects MC Book 2) by Glenna Maynard (17)

 —Shelly—

Charlie has been gone for a few hours now. I’ve tried watching the television but can’t find anything to watch that interests me. I started a few loads of laundry. Though the items he got me are slim pickings. The tops all leave little to the imagination.  There were a few pairs of decent jeans though. So at least there is that. Maybe I can talk him into taking me out. I’ve been stuck in this trailer for days.

The dryer sounds, and I go to fold the laundry. Charlie’s shave kit sitting on the sink gives me an idea.

I unzip the leather bag and bring out the scissors.

I don’t think I just do. Gathering my hair in my hand, I use the scissors to start cutting. Locks of my hair falls to the sink as I stare at my reflection, hoping Charlie will like the end result. My hair falls just to my shoulders now. Finding two rubber bands in a drawer, I style my hair into two braids. One laying on each shoulder.

By the time I finish up with the mundane chores and cleaning my hair from the sink, it is time to start dinner. I end up making tacos. Everyone loves tacos or at least I think they do.

Dinner has been ready for an hour. Charlie still isn't back so I eat my serving alone and start flipping through the channels again. I come up on a show about a tattoo artist.

Watching people get ink has me really wanting a tattoo of my own.

The paper and pen Charlie gave me the other day is laying on the coffee table. For fun I start drawing what I would want if Charlie agreed to tattoo me.

The bloom of a lotus flower.

Turns out I am actually a decent artist.

The rumbling of a motorcycle barreling down the driveway breaks me from my doodling.

I wonder if he will take me for a ride.

His boots stomp heavily up the stairs when he comes in he is carrying a bag.

“Hey, you didn’t run off while I was gone,” he teases.

“Fat chance.”

He puts the bag down on the table and leans down to give me a kiss. “What's this?” He fingers my drawing.

“A flower.”

He rolls his eyes at me. “I know that, smartass.”

“I thought maybe you’d tattoo it on my shoulder.”

“I could be persuaded.” He flashes his teeth at me.

I go to unzip his pants, but he stops me. “That can wait. Let’s get you that ink.”

“Okay.” I nearly squeal when he opens up the bag he brought in with him and brings out his tattoo gun.

It doesn't take him long to copy my design and start outlining the blossom of my lotus flower. We both agree with the location of the stencil. I am so excited but seeing that damn needle is making me antsy.

He’s being really sweet about the whole thing, making sure I am completely okay and asking if I need a break.

Charlie keeps asking me stuff to distract me from the pain of the needle.

“What made you decide on this?” He questions over the buzzing of the gun.

“A lotus flower grows in muddy water. It rises up from that darkness to be so beautiful.”

He smiles. “I like that.”

The tattoo takes a few hours by the time he is finished shading it in gray and pink. He goes over the basic stuff about keeping it clean and not getting it wet yet.

He gets me bandaged up and I want nothing more than to take him to bed for the night to show him my appreciation for my beautiful ink.

“What’s that good smell?”

“I made tacos.”

He moves to the kitchen and I follow to serve him a plate. He has done so much to take care of me, it is the least I can do to repay him. Besides, I want to.

He yanks on one of my braids as he stands behind me while I build his tacos. “A man could get used to this. Coming home to dinner ready prepared by a sexy woman.”

“I cut it.” I grin over my shoulder at him.

His hands roam the curves of my ass.

“I see that.”

“Uh huh,” I tell him as I turn around to hand him his plate.

He takes a seat at the table and digs in while I work to put the leftovers away.

When I am done he is working on his fourth taco.

I grin as he wipes at his mouth. Taco sauce is dripping down to his shirt.

“Think I may need to get you a bib.”

He laughs.

“Want to get out of here. Take a ride on the back of my bike?”

“God yes!”

He laughs and shakes his head.

“Go get dressed. You need to wear the sneakers I got you.”

I nod eagerly and take off running.
