Wolfman: The Lioness and The Wolf: Book Seven Supernatural Enforcers Agency by E A Price (20)

Avery sifted through her case file, not with very much enthusiasm.  Was she going round in circles here?  Chasing her own damn tail she thought morosely.  Then her lioness huffed – chasing your own tail can be fun sometimes.  Avery ignored her.

She seemed to have wisps of evidence that she was trying to fit together which were tenuous at best.  She felt like she was trying to mash a square shaped block into a triangular shaped hole.

Avery looked up from her notes as Wayne came through the door.  He moved in with Avery after he was kicked out of his last apartment, and her roommate decided to follow her heart and libido on tour with her favorite rock band.  Wayne’s old landlord hadn’t taken too kindly to a few rowdy parties thrown by Wayne and his brother, while Avery’s roommate had been sex mad and kept Avery up to all hours.  Wayne agreed that he wouldn’t throw any parties without Avery’s permission, and she had his room soundproofed in case he wanted to bring any women home.  It had worked out quite well for both of them.  Though, maybe Wayne wouldn’t think so anymore.

She raised a finger to her lips and pointed at Aimee.  Wayne narrowed his eyes at the sleeping bundle.

“I’m going out,” he muttered.

“You just came in,” Avery retorted.

He started mumbling that he had a tip from one of his confidential informants and he was gone.

Aimee tossed and turned on the couch.  Sleep was not coming easy to her; Avery could tell she was worrying about what their mad mother may do to her when she discovered Aimee was leaving the pride.  Worse, that she was leaving the pride to join the SEA.

Avery sighed and returned to her case.  A few seconds later, her animal stiffened right before happiness flooded her.  Wolfman!

*

Maybe he was making a mistake.  Avery hadn’t seemed happy to see him the night before, but she did say she loved Wolfman earlier.  The worst that could happen would be that she told him to get out, to get lost, that she never wanted to see him again…  Oh, all those possibility depressed him and his wolf.

He tapped on her window.

“Wolfman!” Avery exclaimed.

She surged into the room, dragging the window open and forcibly pulling him through.  Well, this was much more like it – much more like the welcome he wanted.

“Avery,” he growled when she had manhandled him into a standing position.

Avery took a step back and watched him a little shyly.  “I wasn’t sure you’d come back.  I’m sorry about what I said.”

“Perhaps you are right…”

His beast snarled at him to shut up and allow him to do the thinking for them.

Avery rolled her lovely shoulders unconcernedly.  “Maybe, but we’ve been doing this dance for months now.  Maybe I was just wondering how many other females’ windows you’ve taken to crawling through.”

Wolfman jutted his chin.  “Ah…”

Avery’s chest heaved in the most mesmerizing way.  “I mean, how many other women do you save in alleys and then go to their bedrooms at night?”

“None,” he gulped.

His wolf almost put his paws over his eyes.  So much for trying to be a mysterious, worldly male.  He might as well stamp it on his forehead that he’d only slept with two women.

Her lips quirked.  “Really?”

“Yeah, none.”

He was pretty sure if he tried it with other women, they’d clobber him.  Not that he wanted to try.

Avery moved towards him, fluidly, seductively.  He fidgeted and managed to knock over a pile of books with his cape.

“You sure about that?”  She was right in front of him, barely an inch away.  She placed a hand on his shoulder and her hooded eyes – endless, beautiful pools of blue - captured his gaze.  “You sure there’s no other special ladies out there for you?” she cooed.

“Definitely not,” he whispered.  “You’re the only lady in my life.”

She smiled and all too briefly brushed her pink lips over his.  As she pulled back he desperately tried to follow, and she cupped his cheek.

“Wes is looking into the disappearance you reported.”

“You knew it was me,” he murmured, his eyes now riveted on those luscious lips.

“Who else?”

“I’m sorry I could not stop it.”

He was too.  Guilt replaced his lustful thoughts for a moment, but he didn’t let it eclipse his desire entirely.  Hey, he was an average male faced with a goddess who for some reason seemed interested in him, it was a miracle he was even able to remember his own name.

“At least you tried,” Avery purred as she rubbed her cheek against his.

“Mmmm.”

Wolfman shuddered and clasped Avery’s butt.  She let out a delighted gasp at his forthrightness.  Frankly, he had been going for her hips, but it wasn’t easy to concentrate as Avery rubbed her body against his.  His wolf yowled in satisfaction.

“You reported an elephant shifter.”

“Yes,” he agreed.

Though he’d agree to give her a kidney at the moment.  Emboldened by the fact that she hadn’t tossed him across the room shouting ‘as if’ his hands kneaded her firm, peachy, perfect rear.  If butts deserved awards, her’s did.

“Do you think you would recognize him if you saw him again?”

Her breath tickled his ear cheek before she nipped his chin.

He let out a small yelp and his thoughts drifted to the bullish male.  “Maybe.  It was dark and I was… ah…”

Wolfman tried not to pout as Avery pulled away from him, flitting out the room only to return a moment later brandishing a photo of a very unappetizing individual.  It was not easy to drag his attention away from Avery to look at him, but given that she was gazing at him expectantly, he did.

“Could that be him?”

“It could,” he admitted, wanting to make her happy.  “But I’m not certain,” he admitted, not wanting to lie.

Avery blew out a frustrated breath.  “Hmmm.”

He passed the photo back.  “You know what this is all about.”

She hesitated.  “I… I shouldn’t be telling you this, but he’s suspected of kidnapping a doctor who was involved in researching the shifter gene.  I think it may be connected, and that he’s kidnapping these homeless people as test subjects.”

He goggled at her.  Sounded like some kind of conspiracy.  He almost did feel like James Bond.  Though he had to admit he would more likely fall into the Q category of males.  “Why?”

“I don’t know, but his boss is Tom Murphy.”

Wolfman gave her a blank look.

“You don’t know him?”

He shrugged, as much as his huge costume would allow.

“Well, he’s a bad guy and at one time was involved in half the crime in this city.”

Avery tossed the photo onto her dresser; frustration marred her pretty features.

“Perhaps I should go,” he said, against the strict wishes of his grousing best.

“Or you could stay?”

She smiled at him and his heart thudded, though he was surprised there was any blood left to work it.  All blood having already driven south…

“Avery…”

She pressed a hand to his chest, tracing his costume.

“Like I said, we’ve been doing this dance for a while.  You turn up out of nowhere.  We kiss.  We flirt and that’s it.”

“I ah…”  He gulped.

“You could stay with me.”

*

Wolfman gaped at her and Avery snickered.  Look at her, seducing a superhero.  There was certainly something super going on in his pants at that moment.

“If you want to,” she added.

Her lioness all but smirked.  It was obvious he did.  Avery knew men found her attractive, but she wasn’t smug about it.  Didn’t really try to take advantage of people, and she didn’t for one second take it for granted that this sexy male was here with her now and that he wanted her.  She felt lucky that he was there.  He was sexy and brave, and he made her heart sing, and she wanted him more than she wanted to breathe.

“I want you to stay,” she said softly.

Wolfman gazed at her.  “You… you do?”

“So much,” she breathed.

She had never been shy about sex.  She wasn’t afraid to ask for sex or to say what she liked and didn’t like in the bedroom.  She certainly wasn’t going to get all bashful about the fact that he was the sexiest man she had ever met.

“More than I’ve ever wanted anyone,” she added.

His lips spread into a incredible smile.  She raked her nails down his chest, and he gulped.

“Will you stay?” she asked.

“Yes,” he virtually squeaked.

Her lioness preened.  “Good,” she purred as her fingers deftly unbuckled his belt.

It dropped to the floor making him growl slightly in surprise.

“Oh, ah, I…” he stammered.

“Now, how do we get you out of this?” she murmured, tracing her finger over his stomach.

“There’s a zip at the back…”

Avery slipped past him and quickly made short work of the zipper.  With eager hands, she peeled him out of his costume to reveal he was absolutely naked underneath.

Her lioness cooed in delight.  “No underwear?”

He chuckled as a blush crept over his body.  “The costume’s too tight.”

“Yes,” she muttered, mildly distracted.

Now she knew for certain there wasn’t a part of him that wasn’t perfect.  Not that she ever doubted he wouldn’t be blessed in that department, but he was long, thick and hard and she wanted him so badly she ached.

He smiled at her shyly.  He was still wearing his mask.  She hadn’t moved to reveal his face and nor had he.  She decided to leave it on – it would be hotter.

“You’re so gorgeous,” she breathed.

He shook his head in embarrassment, but she wasn’t kidding.  He was.  His tall, lithe body was beautiful.  He wasn’t bulky or hairy like so many other male shifters – too many male shifters.  No, he looked like he should be lounging on a cloud eating grapes.  He was heavenly.

Avery moved to touch him, to grasp his manhood, and perhaps take a taste of him, but he caught her wrist, stopping her.  She growled in objection.

“I want to see you, too,” he mumbled as his eyes traveled down her body.

Her lips curled in pleasure.  “Of course.”

He let go of her, and she flicked her claws out, hastily slicing through the flimsy material of her clothes.  He gasped and let out a strangled moan as his eyes devoured every inch of her.

“Avery,” he mumbled, his eyes nearly bugging out of his head.

“Wolfman,” she purred in return.

His eyes snapped to her face, and she grinned before gently pushing him backward, tumbling him onto the bed.  She climbed over his body, dipping her head and licking his steely length.

“Avery,” he groaned.

She sighed in satisfaction.  He tasted divine.  Perhaps she would enjoy him that way later, but for now, she needed him.

Avery climbed over his body, her confidence soaring at seeing the look of awe on his face.  Or at least, the parts of his face she could see.  The mask made this so fun.

She grasped his shaft in her hand, squeezing gently before she angled him to her sex.  A throaty purr rattled out of her throat the moment he touched her, the head brushing her soaking entrance.  Slowly, oh so slowly, because she wanted to remember this first time forever, she sank down his manhood, delighting in the way his thickness stretched her and touched every sensitive, sweet spot inside her.

Finally, to the hilt, her lioness purred, and she let out a small growl as her body trembled at the amazing fullness.  Wolfman beamed at her with amber eyes.  But rather than the look of reverence on his face, it had been replaced with a predatory expression of lust.

Yes, that’s more like it.

She growled again, and the wolf in him let out an answering growl.  She clenched her muscles around him, and he hissed, grabbing her butt with both hands.  She palmed his chest and drew herself up, away from him, right to the tip.  She held herself still for a couple of beats, making him snap his jaws in impatience before she plunged down him in a satisfying thrust.  She moaned, and he groaned, and she did it again.

Avery started with a slow rhythm, undulating around his shaft, exploring his body, delighting in the way he made her feel.  Content to allow her to make her own rhythm, his hands moved to her breasts.  A target he had been admiring for a while now, and one she knew he had been begging to get his hands on.

He massaged her orbs with his hands until he wanted more.  Greedily, he pulled her down, taking one of her breasts in his mouth, laving his tongue over her flesh.  She cried in delight, not missing a beat as she moved herself up and down his length.  The added stimulation awoke something inside her – something marvelous, something hot and warm and something that promised to be incredible.

She’d had sex before.  No doubt the gorgeous man beneath her had, too.  But it had never been this breathtaking.  Her body had never been so alive with happiness.  Nor had her beast.  The animal was as pleased as a kitten with a piece of string.

Mine hissed the beast gleefully.  Avery quivered.  Maybe he was.  Hers.  Her mate.  She didn’t come from a pride that cared anything for fated mates or even love matches.  She had never been a romantic creature, but her thoughts and dreams had been conquered by this male from the moment she met him.  Every moment she was apart from him, her only thoughts were of when she could see him again, when she could touch him and kiss him.  Yes, he had to be hers.

The thought had her desire soaring, and she let out a roar, arching her back, clamping her insides around him.  Wolfman freed her breasts and howled.  The need for release thundered through her.

He moved his hands to her waist, thrusting his hips towards her as his own desire took on a new urgency.  Her nails dug into his chest as she damn near crashed against him.  He snarled but didn’t whine or howl at her to stop.  No, his passion equaled hers in its fierceness.  He drove himself inside her, pushing through her swollen walls and her grasping muscles just as passionately as she rode him.

Her frenzied movements got faster and faster, pushing herself on and on, climbing higher and higher, desperately reaching until finally, Avery roared, throwing back her head in rapturous bliss as her orgasm peaked.

Wolfman yowled and with one solid thrust, he came undone, hurtling over the edge with her.  Avery panted as her body sang with joy.  He pulled her down to him, seeking her lips.

Mine howled her animal.

Yes, definitely.
