Cabin Fever by Avery Duncan (25)

Chapter 26

Finn

I found her working feverously at the desk that Jude had provided her with. It made me smile just to watch her work, and I can’t deny that it was a little hot to think of the moans and sighs she had been making because of him the night before. She had sounded incredible, and I wanted to find out if I could get similar noises from her.

“Hey.” I finally announced my presence to her.

She looked up at me with a smile. “Hey, Finn.”

“It looks like the show has stopped for a while, do you want to get some fresh air? You’ve been working hard on that book.”

She thought about it for a moment and then dropped her pen into the middle of her notepad and closed it. “God yes! Getting outside to stretch my legs properly would be awesome. Where have you in mind?”

“Well, there’s a great view of the loch and the surrounding mountains from the top field if you’re game for it?” I suggested. It wasn’t really the weather to go too far, the snow was too deep, and it was damn cold, but even from the end of the lane the view over the Loch was good, so I knew that from the top field it would be even better.

“Lead the way.” She said getting up from her chair and moving towards me.

I told Jude and Charlie where we were going, just in case they needed to send out a search party if the snow came back.

Thirty minutes later we were standing in the top field. I had been right. The view out over the Loch and surrounding Beinns was more than picture postcard perfect. Ellie stood there watching out over the Loch, admiring the scenery, I stood there admiring her. I loved to study her when she forgot that anyone was looking. I enjoyed watching her mind churning as she looked around. I would bet that she was thinking about the kinds of people who had stood looking at the same scenery over the years. I knew that she probably had her writer’s mind working overtime with ideas already.

I was feeling a little playful though. She was getting a little too lost in her thoughts, and I wanted to bring her back to reality, back to me. The clouds were coming back down over the mountains she was looking at, and I knew that it wouldn’t be long before the snow was back on again and we would have to head back. I crouched down while she was distracted, balled up a pile of snow between my hands, and aimed it squarely at her shoulder.

The snowball hit its target and broke upon impact in a spectacular explosion of white. She squealed in shock initially but quickly realised what was happening when I launched a second snowball at her.

“Oh my God, you are so dead!” She laughed, stooping low to gather a ball of her own. Her aim was lethal, her snowball slapped me right in the side of the face.

I glared at her. “Oh, is that how it is. Right, this means war!” I shouted over, running back from her to gather more snow and launch it in her direction. The snowballs were flying through the air, and we were both having so much fun that I didn’t realise how close we had crept to the ditches at the edge of the field.

There was a shriek, and Ellie disappeared from sight. I waded through the snow as quickly as I could to where her voice was coming from. When I arrived, she was flat on her back, covered in snow everywhere, I held out my hand to help pull her up out of the snow and the dip in the ground, but somehow, I lost my own footing and ended up smack bang in the snow alongside her.

“Fuck.” I laughed, looking up at the snow filled sky as more flakes started to fall. I pulled myself out of the ditch. I was covered in snow, and it was melting into my clothes with my body heat, making me cold. I steadied myself better this time and stretched my hand back out to Ellie to pull her out.

I pulled her with such a yank that she slammed right into my chest. Her hands grabbed my arms to steady herself. For a moment she stared at me. Why the hell not? I swiftly crushed my mouth on hers. She kissed me back, squeezing my arms where she was holding on to me. In a few moments, she was shivering against my lips.

“We need to get back to the house before we freeze.” I smiled and pulled her hand, pulling her as quickly as we could back to the warmth of the farmhouse.

We burst into the door, freezing and shivering. Charlie appeared in the kitchen when he heard us, he looked us over and shook his head. “I’ll get the kettle on. You two get upstairs and get out of those wet clothes!”

We rushed upstairs into my bedroom and stood in front of the fire as we tried as quickly as we could to get out of our frigid garments. Before long she and I stood there, shivering in just our underwear. I ran my hands over my boxers. Nope, they’re wet too. I started to shove them down my hips.

“What are you doing?” Ellie was staring at me like I had lost my mind.

“They’re wet. We need to take off everything that’s wet.”

She started to undo her bra and take off her knickers. I had wanted to get her naked, but I had to admit that this wasn’t exactly how I thought that it would transpire when I did. I grabbed the quilt from the bed, wrapped it around me, and pulled her into my lap on the floor in front of the fire. My front to her back, her ass directly over my cold and flaccid cock. It wouldn’t be staying like that once the heat started to get back into my body, I knew that much.

As we sat there shivering together in front of the fire, there was a knock at my door. When I called out to come in, Charlie appeared around the door. “Are you pair alright?” He asked.

“Freezing.” Ellie chattered in front of me.

Charlie smiled. “I have just the thing.” He came in holding two mugs of hot chocolate, handed one to each of us, and smirked a little seeing that we were what looked to be completely naked and tucked in together. We sat there sipping our hot chocolate letting the heat from each other, the quilt and the fire bring us both back from the feeling of being frostbitten.
