Exposed: A Miseducation Romance by Lula Baxter (4)

Chapter Four

Rhys

I’ve been on my laptop, naked as usual, writing up a few speaking notes for this week’s Sex on the Line show. As soon as I hear the knock on the door I know it’s Prynne. I decide to be a gentleman and at least wrap a towel around my waist. It doesn’t stop her eyes from wandering down the same path they did during our first encounter.

Ogle away, Prynne.

“So what can I do you for, neighbor?” I ask, crossing my arms over my chest and casually leaning in the door frame.

The laptop in her arms has already clued me in on what she came here for, but I like the idea of making her come out and say it. Maybe even making her beg. That’s got me picturing those pink lips of hers slightly parted as she moans my name with that adorable little twang in her voice, begging me not to stop, to go harder, faster—

“…if you don’t mind?”

I blink and snap out of that little fantasy. “Sorry, can you repeat that?”

A wrinkle of worry hits her brow. She obviously thinks I am in fact making her work for it.

“I was just wondering if you could take a look at what I’ve written so far and see if it’s any good?”

I give her a broad smile. “Are you sure you want my help? Aren’t you worried I might be too…perverted for your audience?”

She blows a puff of air out of her mouth. “Frankly, I could probably use a bit of perversion.”

That gets a laugh out of me. “Well then, you’ve definitely come to the right place, m’lady. Come on in.” I nod my head toward the room and spin out of the way to give her access. She makes a point of pressing against the other side of the doorway as she slips by. If she’s trying to avoid giving me any ideas, she’s wasting her time.

As though reading my mind she quickly turns to face me. “Just so you, ah, know, I called and told my roommate I was going to be here tonight. Well, not all night, obviously, just for, um…just to visit,” she wrinkles her brow, realizing that doesn’t sound any better. “Just to talk.”

She’s so obviously lying, it’s amusing. Still, I’m enough of a gentleman to let her think I believe her.

“Duly noted. Shall we get started? Show me what you’ve got, Prynne,” I say with a grin.

Her eyes flick down to my towel in mild panic.

“Don’t worry, I’ll stay firmly covered. Wouldn’t want to taint your reputation with the folks outside.”

“Oh!” she exclaims, her eyes going wide. She spins around to look out the windows then quickly spins back toward me with a grimace. She quickly scurries away from the windows, literally pressing herself against the wall in the foyer.

“Don’t worry, I think they get bored if you aren’t naked.”

“Do you think we could maybe close the curtains?”

“Uh, uh, uh,” I say, wagging my finger. “I’ll agree to keep the goodies covered, but I draw the line at closing the curtains. Besides, look at that view out there, it’s inspiring.”

“It’s not the view out that I’m concerned about.”

“Well, like I said, people move on to the next window when there’s nothing of interest to look at.”

The way her eyes fall down to my body tells me that there is plenty of interest here. In my defense, I do work hard at keeping my body an object of interest.

Even Prynne, in nothing but a pair of pajama bottoms and a loose t-shirt (sadly, with a bra tonight), looks sexy in an adorable kind of way. There will be plenty of eyes on this particular window hoping for some action.

The thought stirs something in my dick. I ease off the gas pedal in my head so it doesn’t result in enough of a bulge to scare her off.

“Give me what you’ve got,” I say pointing to the laptop in her arms.

She visibly relaxes when she realizes we’re moving on to the business at hand. With one quick look to the window, she approaches me and hands over the laptop.

“Okay, let’s see what you’ve done so far,” I say settling down on the bed on my side and opening it up.

Prynne, very conspicuously, takes the seat at the small table.

“I’m going to need the password, Prynne,” I point out with one eyebrow raised.

She opens her mouth to tell me, thinks better of it, then sighs and comes over to take the laptop. She awkwardly holds it with one arm while typing in the password and hitting enter. Then she gives it back to me.

The screen is already on the Word document. I note that she’s got a little over twenty-thousand words. This may take a while. I roll my eyes up to see her staring at me, biting her lip so hard I’m worried she might actually draw blood.

“Feel free to raid the mini bar,” I offer.

She just shakes her head no. Her eyes stay firmly on me, staring anxiously.

I sigh. “Listen, it’s going to be difficult to properly critique this with you staring at me like that. Maybe you should hang out in your room or go for a walk?”

She just looks down at her laptop with concern.

I laugh when I realize what she’s worried about. “Don’t worry, I won’t accidentally destroy or steal your work. Somehow, I have a feeling we don’t have the same…voice.

She presses her lips together with an annoyed grimace, but gets up and leaves all the same. I watch her go, enjoying the way her bare legs flex from behind. When she’s gone, I relax and dig into her work with relish. I have a feeling it will tell me more about her than she realizes.

It takes me about an hour to scan through and, even though the work isn’t nearly finished, it becomes glaringly apparent what Prynne’s problem is.

She knows nothing about sex.
