His Lawyer Purely Angel: A Billionaire and Virgin Romance by Claire Angel (7)

Eric

When my parents died I thought that Leila and I would live in the orphanage since none of our relatives really wanted to take care of their spoiled rich niece and nephew but my Uncle Ramon was able to stand up and take us in.

He is like a father to us. He used to tell us stories of our parents and even helped us keeping our family business going. Without him, Leila and I would be nowhere. I am still unable to believe he had backstabbed me and turn my company and what seems to be the whole world against Leila and I.

I was hoping that it is nothing but a theory but Evangeline’s silence confirmed everything. Her eyes told me everything. Suddenly the feeling of shock turned into rage. He could backstab me ten folds but to include my Leila, who didn’t rely on the family business and made her own name, he just has crossed the line.

“Here,” Evangeline’s soft voice woke me up from this boiling anger of mine. I looked up to see her handing me a cup of tea with a soft smile on her beautiful face. This view is comforting for sure.

“It’s chamomile with lavender flavor. It has a calming effect,” she informed me.

Forget the tea, Evangeline has a calming effect as well. I took the cup from her hands making sure that my hands brushed against hers. Once the cup was in my hands I noticed that she was blushing just by the touch of my hands. I smirked as I drank the tea not realizing that the tea was steaming hot which made me jerk back and groan in pain.

“Be careful! It’s hot!” she said as she was suddenly by my side and her fingers were on my lips. It was like she didn’t notice her actions, and once she realized where her fingers where she jumped back and yanked her hands away. A dark crimson blush painted her cheeks. Even if it was for a small moment, her touch was calming and made my body relax. When she snatched her hands away I could feel the tingling sensation on my lips where she touched.

I placed the cup of tea on the coffee table and turned towards Evangeline who was sitting next to me on the couch. I then unexpectedly grabbed her hands and placed them on my face. She looked nervous as she stared at me like I am some crazy person. I might have to agree with her that I’m crazy since I can’t explain half of my actions when I’m with her. One week without her was like torture to me. I had nights where I dreamed of her, and they weren’t innocent dreams as well. They were erotic dreams that left me with the case of blue balls, and my only remedy was a cold shower because doing it myself wasn’t satisfying.

Dreams of her naked, of her under me squirming and moaning, and most especially the feel of her lips against mine. Dreams, I want to turn into reality.

“What are you doing?” her voice was stuttering again. I sighed in relief as I felt her hands on my face and closed my eyes as I leaned more into her touch. She tried yanking her hands away but I had my hold on her. I refuse to let go. “What are you—” I easily cut her off by saying “Your touch is soothing. Just like chamomile and lavender you have a calming effect… Let me stay like this for a little while,” I told her.

“I… uh… Fine,” she finally gave in as her hands stayed on my face even when I released my hold on her, but she made sure she faced the other way. “Evangeline, what do you think of me?” I suddenly asked her. Her head snapped towards me as she asked “What do you mean?”

“I heard from Angel that you don’t like rich people. So, what do you think of me? If you didn’t like me then you would have never been this close to me,” I told her. “Technically you aren’t rich now,” she pointed out. I deadpanned her as I thought to myself, is she serious?

She noticed my reaction as she gave out a sigh and said “You’re a total womanizer that it irks me at times especially when you mess with me. Sometimes you can be arrogant, selfish, and you make horrible life decisions,” Damn, she doesn’t hold back, does she?

“But I guess you can say… you’re not that bad,” she said shyly. I was completely captivated by how she looked. She had red cheeks as she stared at me with those glassy eyes of hers as she also tried avoiding my gaze but in the end, she ended up glancing at me every now and then.

I placed my hand upon hers as I stared at her with adoration. How come this woman who I barely know makes me feel completely alive? Ever since my Uncle put me in this hole of misery everybody has turned their backs on me except this woman. Lately I’ve felt like I’m drowning in the ocean only being pulled deeper and deeper then suddenly this woman reaches down and pulls me back to the surface.

“The reason why I hate rich people so much is because the people who drove the car that hit my mom were rich people. I knew I wasn’t supposed to be in the middle of the road but the couple who drove the car were speeding and just because they were rich they got away with it.” she explained. “That is why I became a lawyer in the first place,” she added.

“Please go out with me,” I blurted out which made her eyes go wide.

“What? Why do you want to go out with me?” she asked as if she couldn’t believe that I wanted to go out with her. Sure, she wears big rimmed glasses, wears no makeup, and dresses plainly but she doesn’t know that despite these she’s extremely beautiful.

“Why can’t I go out with you?” I teased but then I noticed the serious expression on her face and answered her question “I find you completely breathtaking, Evangeline. You’re hardworking, generous, and you may be strict at times you’re still kind. Most of all you’re passionate. I love how you do everything with passion and enthusiasm. Not to mention you’re beautiful,” I removed her glasses from her face.”

“You mean I’m beautiful without my glasses?” she asked.

“With or without doesn’t make a difference. The reason why I take them off is so that I could see the small specks of green in your eyes more clearly.”

“But it’s not ethical for a lawyer and her client to date, and when once you will get your company back, you will be the CEO again and I’ll just be here same now,” she tried all sorts of excuses but she didn’t say that she doesn’t want to date me, and this small detail made me incredibly happy.

The urge to take her, to claim her as mine has grown stronger than ever. I want to dominate every part of her. To touch every untouched skin of hers. To make her feel sensations she had never felt before.

“Then go out with me after my case,” I told her. She looked at me with unbelieving eyes. “Is it hard to believe that I want no one but you?” I asked her with a smirk on my face. She retrieved her hands as she placed them on her lap. I noticed that her fists clenched tightly as her shoulders shook gently, and her head was bowed down.

“Why do you keep teasing me? It’s no good for my heartburn. Every time you’re around my heart beats fast, I start to sweat, and I become extremely nervous. This has never happened to me before. So why you? Why do I feel this way?” she seemed frustrated.

My problem with my Uncle was long gone from my mind, my full attention was on this beautiful woman who refuses to acknowledge her feelings for me.

“You’re a smart and intelligent woman. You should know that you have feelings for me,” I told her.

She seemed shocked almost like she didn’t realize what those feelings actually were. “But my feelings for you are stronger,” I told her seriously. She stared at me and I was thrown off when a tear suddenly slid down her face.

“Why are you crying?” I asked her, wondering if I said or did something wrong to offend her.

“No, I’m just happy,” she said as she quickly wiped her tears with her hands as she stared at me with a beautiful smile on her face, her eyes were literally glistening with happiness. I couldn’t fight the urge any more. I grabbed her and pushed my lips upon hers. Oh, how these lips alone could bring me to my knees.
