Warren would have backed off any other time, but tonight was his Hail Mary pass at Erin, and he was pulling out all the stops. Sex had always been uncomplicated with them—the only thing she’d accept from him freely, with no questions asked.

He finished sliding her jeans off her legs and dropped them on the ground behind him. She had this look on her face, like she was nervous, which had him asking, “Do you want me to stop?”
“Seriously?”
He forced himself to stop touching her and sit back on his heels. “Seriously.”
“You’re unbelievable.” Erin shook her head. “You can’t throw out a line like that and then ask me if I want you to stop.” When he didn’t immediately move closer, she rolled her eyes. “No, genius. I don’t want you to stop.”
That was all he needed to know. He closed the distance between them and dealt her a punishing kiss in response. “For the millionth time, we already kissed.”
He liked how breathy her voice was and how unfocused her hazel eyes became. He liked it a lot. “Wrong.” He licked and nibbled his way down her throat, unzipping her coat and pushing it down her arms. Her shirt was next, over her head and joining her jeans on the floor. Then there was only her bra and panties. He eyed the blue cotton with little pink flowers on it. “Nice.”
