Jealous Alpha by Jordan Silver (29)

30

I didn’t talk to her in the car but I noticed her looking at me like she had something to say. I stopped the car in front of her building and waited for her to get out.

I watched her make her way to the door downstairs before letting herself in, then I drove away.

As soon as I walked through the door I got changed and hit my personal gym. I refused to let myself think of her I was so damn mad.

I hadn’t gotten anywhere with her at all. She was still locked away from me and maybe it was time I accepted the fact that she will never open up that part of herself to me.

It was obvious that she didn’t think very highly of me if she could suspect me of that shit. Fuck her and fuck this. I’m done.

For the next few days I avoided her. If I happened to pass her in the hallway I kept going without even a hello.

It’s what she’d wanted so I don’t see the reason for her crestfallen looks, or for my brother to be riding my ass every five minutes asking me what I’d done to her.

We must’ve fought every day leading up to the departure until he made the mistake of offering to take my place on the trip.

“Get out of my office.”

“What? I’m just saying, since you two seem to be in a cold war maybe it would be better if I was the one to accompany Gia.”

I gave him a look that would kill. I know he did that shit on purpose, but I chose to ignore it this time. He’s been trying to goad me all damn week why should today be any different?

“I don’t need you to take my place.” I can be professional dammit. I was working on this project before she came along, why the hell should I let her stop me from seeing it through?

The day we were supposed to leave I was sorely tempted to let her take a commercial flight instead of joining me on the company jet.

I’d been looking forward to this time away with her for so long, that the disappointment was still sharp when we boarded the jet.

Since I wasn’t saying shit to her it would’ve been hard to cancel our plans and have her take another flight. At least that was the excuse I gave myself.

“Evan.”

“What is it?” She’d waited until we were in the air to address me from across the aisle where she was sitting.

I had my laptop open, pretending to read something but I wasn’t reading shit. “About what I said…”

“If this isn’t about work I don’t want to hear it.” I hated the hurt look on her face, like I’d slapped her. But she’d brought this shit on herself.

In all my dealings with her, I’ve never once thought of hurting her or putting her in danger. For her to believe that shit of me was a low blow.

I bet she wouldn’t have thought that shit of her precious…husband. I wanted to smash my fist into something but I was thousands of feet in the air and there wasn’t shit to punch.

I rested my head back and closed my eyes, trying my best to shut her out. It was the first time in days we’d been this close to one another and I’ve never been good at being close to her without taking.

I missed her. Missed seeing the way her pussy gaped open after I stretched her with a hard deep fuck.

Missed cumming inside her each time we fucked, something I’d never experienced with anyone before but found that I liked. Missed the way she curled into me at night when we slept.

The way she clung to me and kissed me like she was starved when she was cumming. Missed her smell, the feel of her soft hands on me.

The way she’d roll into me in the morning and whine to let me know she wanted cock. I missed her smiles, her laugh, the way she fussed at me to take it easy at the office before I burned out.

I even missed her cries of pain when I went too deep and hurt her tight little pussy. Cries that always turned into moans of pleasure.

Most of all I missed the way she felt in my arms, like she was made to fit there. I fisted my hands and ground my teeth together.

I could hear her damn sniffles. What the hell was she sniffling about? Didn’t she imply that I’m a monster? What the fuck!

I lasted five damn minutes. Five minutes before I unbuckled my seatbelt and went after her. She jumped when I reached for her seatbelt, and her tear filled eyes opened.

I lifted her from the seat and sat with her on my lap. I was still mad at her but I couldn’t bear to see her looking so lost and alone. Not knowing what I do about her life and all the shit she’s been through.

I wasn’t ready to talk to her yet though, so I just sat there holding her until she fell asleep. I put the seat back until it became a small bed and rested with her in my arms.

I laid there quietly, thinking of how we were going to get past this. Or more to the point, how I was going to forgive her for being an ass.

I fell asleep myself and didn’t awaken until the stewardess shook me awake just before we landed. “Wake up baby we’re here.”

Hopefully she was too groggy to catch my slip of the tongue. I moved away from her as soon as I was sure she was awake enough, still not saying anything to her.

We rode to the hotel in silence, she lost in the passing scenery, me lost in thought. At the hotel we checked in and went to our rooms, which I’d had changed weeks ago to keep her near me.

There were meetings all day and into the evening. I kept watch over her because even though it was my company handling the project, she was the star of the show and everyone wanted her attention.

I called a halt hours later when she was starting to drag and was not pleased by the amount of men who seemed way too put out at her leaving.

The only thing that saved their asses is the fact that she was still wearing my ring. We still had some kind of soiree that the client had planned to welcome us later this evening and I used that as an excuse to get her out of there.

“You should get some rest, it’s going to be a long night.” I left her at her door and kept walking to mine without a backward glance.

I took a short nap myself and woke up refreshed but in no mood for a roomful of people.

This trip was nothing like I’d expected. I’d been looking forward to showing her the sights, visiting some places that I knew and liked. Having her all to myself for the few days that we were going to be here.

I’d been especially looking forward to our alone time at night where there were no restrictions and I didn’t have to muffle her screams when we made love.

Instead I was in a pissy mood and ready to gnaw off my fucking hand just to avert the frustration.

To add insult to injury we had to dress formally for this shindig and there’s nothing I hate more than a tux.

My night only grew grimmer when I came out of my room and saw what the hell she was wearing. I had to damn near bite a hole in my tongue not to yell at her to go get changed.

The dress looked innocent enough at first glance. It was red with a fitted bodice and flared skirt that belled out around her legs.

The body of the dress was the problem. Beneath the red floral design was some sort of flesh colored deal that looked like she was naked.

Her legs were a mile long in the matching stilettos, and she’d done some fancy shit to her hair that left her neck bare.

I’d never seen her dressed like that before and it was quite a shock to be walking into a room full of strangers with her looking like that. I wasn’t prepared.

The same people from before were there along with some new faces. I found my main target from this afternoon and kept a bead on him.

He was the nephew of the older gentleman who’d commissioned the hotel, his heir or something I’d heard.

I don’t give a fuck who he is, if he doesn’t stop leering at my woman I’m gonna put him on his ass, fuck the project.

She was in her element. Smiling and laughing with everyone who approached, basking in their praise and adoration.

I noticed some of the women there were not too happy either since it was their men who were flocking around her like a lion on a wildebeest ass.

To be fair, she didn’t seem to want the attention, and was only interested in talking about her work.

But that didn’t stop the jealousy from burning a hole in my gut. Or my anger from coming to a slow boil each time she smiled at something one of the men in the room said.
