Kattlyn: Paranormal Romance (The Azziarin Series Book 8) by Hannah Davenport (21)

Kattlyn

I couldn’t breathe. Sydney led me to the opening and I could see everyone sitting there. Alan stood in front with his hands clasped in front of him. He looked so handsome. And nervous. I was too.

The music played and I did as Sydney instructed. I took my time and headed toward Alan. When he vowed to take only me until death, my heart spilled over with love. This ceremony, him taking vows in front of my family, was just as good as a mating bite. Vows were something my father and brothers took seriously, so I knew they would honor Alan’s.

And then he kissed me. An all-consuming kiss that had my mind swirling with desire. His lips were strong as they moved passionately over mine, his tongue seeking mine. I tasted his blood faintly, which only added to the ceremony. And then he bit my lip. No one could see us, so this part of the ceremony was ours and ours alone. Our intimate moment even amongst friends and family.

“I love you, Kattlyn.”

“I love you too, Alan.”

The guests congratulated us before Krista ushered everyone into the dining hall for refreshments. Almost everyone had trickled inside when Father walked up to us.

The look on his face was a cross between pride and love. “Your mother would be so proud.” My heart dropped when he mentioned her. Oh, how I would have loved for her to have met Alan and see this beautiful Earth ceremony.

“Thank you for saying so.”

“You look beautiful, but you always do.” And then he looked at Alan and his voice turned more forceful. “Take good care of her.”

After we ate, we left everyone in the dining hall. I thought we’d head to my rooms, but Alan just smiled and took my hand.

“I have one more surprise for you.”

I shot him a grin. “The wedding day was not enough?”

He raised an eyebrow and flashed that mischievous grin of his. “The wedding night is always better.”

I gave him a quizzical look when we got to the hover vehicle, but I climbed in anyway. He wouldn’t tell me where we were going so I just relaxed, replaying the ceremony in my mind. After a while, I said, “I can’t believe you did all this.”

“It wasn’t easy to get everything together in such a short time, but your family came through for me.”

“And the Humans.”

“Them too. It was hard trying to sneak around. I’m sorry if I’ve been distant lately.”

“Maybe you can convince me to forgive you.” I was hoping he would take me right here in the hover vehicle.

He leaned over and playfully bit my lower lip. “Be patient.”

“I don’t want to.”

He chuckled and wrapped me up in his arms.

It was dark, but it looked like we were heading toward Risshi’s place, toward the beach. The wait was killing me, which made time pass so slowly. My eyes grew heavy and I stifled a yawn.

“Take a little nap. You’ll need your energy later.”

I didn’t mean to go to sleep, but I must have.

~~~~~
“Hey, wake up. We’re here.”
My eyes blinked slowly open. “What?”
“Come on, we’re here.”
I heard the ocean as the waves crashed down. That awoke everything in me. I loved the beach.
“What are we doing here?” I asked as he took my hand and led me to an unfamiliar dwelling.
We stopped in front of the cutest little red cottage with its wooden porch and rocking chairs.
“This is our new home.”
My head whipped to Alan. “Our new . . .”
“Home.” He grinned.
“But how? How did you do this so quickly?”
“Well, Risshi had most of it completed as a surprise for you, so I can’t take all the credit. Your friends and family all jumped in to help finish it quickly.”
“Oh, Alan. It’s perfect.”
He laughed. “You haven’t even seen the inside.”
“I don’t care. It’s still perfect.”
“I have one last Earth tradition and I hope I’m man enough to pull it off.”
“What do you mean?”
He took my hand and led me to the front door. “Wish me luck,” he said, and then swooped down and picked me up. I heard him strain under my weight. “Ooph, what do they feed you all here?”
He kicked open the front door and carried me inside. The house was simple and smelled of fresh wood mixed with the scent of the ocean. Open rooms, lots of windows, and with Alan here, it was a dream come true. “I love it.”
“And I love you.”
The mood quickly changed when I heard his desire-laced voice. We forgot all about the house, his lips taking mine in a scorching kiss. I knew that he’d held himself back lately and now I wonder if it was because of this moment. This wedding night.
Breaking the kiss and breathing heavily, he said, “Let me get you out of that dress.” I felt his nimble fingers at the buttons and heard the zip right before he slid it off my shoulders. When I stepped out, he laid the dress gently across the couch.
“Your turn.” I slid off his jacket, unbuttoned his shirt and then his pants. Naked, we faced each other.
When he kissed me again, I snaked my hand down and grabbed his hardness. It was velvety and slick and oh so hard. Alan moaned with every pull of my hand. A few strokes and he grabbed my hand. “You have to stop.” I didn’t know why, but I loved to hear his voice when it got all breathy and deep like that.
The next thing I knew, Alan was walking me backward until my legs hit something, a bed, I think.
He took his time as he kissed my lips, my jaw, my neck. Dipping me back, he suckled my breasts, giving each one the same attention, and then continuing down. I was on fire and needed him inside me.
“I want to try something.”
“What?” I gulped out. I didn’t know if I could take much more. I wanted him to take me, throw me on the bed and mate me senseless.
“Trust me?”
“Yes.”
