Naked Heat (Brothers of Mayhem) by Swafford, Carla (22)

CHAPTER TWENTY-TWO

For the last two days, Sofia had been so lonesome for Wolf. He’d been tied up with the chapter’s and then the national club’s boards. He’d repeated over and over again the events that had led up to what happened. It was worse than what they’d go through with the ATF.

For several hours, they’d been uncertain if Wolf would be arrested too.

When one of the Brothers’ old ladies teased her about doing without for more than a couple of days, Sofia got the idea of doing something spontaneous. Not having him around had reinforced how much she needed him.

Anyway, it was time for her to show Wolf how much she missed and needed him.

He stood and stalked toward her, his gaze never wavering.

Crooking her finger at him had taken a lot of nerve. She’d never done anything like that before. Those lust-filled, light-blue eyes heated and he lifted one corner of his delectable lips. She loved how he moved in a smooth, dangerous saunter. When he reached her, every inch of her would surely melt in a puddle at his feet.

Without slowing down, his hands slid beneath her blouse, pushing her into the closet, and kicked the door closed. He slid up her ribcage until those large palms shoved her bra and top to her collarbone. She gasped as her nipples tightened beneath calloused fingers, plucking and twisting. Pain and pleasure rolled together, her breath came out in short bursts. He towered over her, backing her farther into the closet until they were in the corner.

She grasped his shoulders. Lifting one leg, she tried climbing his torso. Her desire to feel him against the needy spot between her legs drove her crazy.

“I need you,” she pleaded.

“I know, baby, I need you too.”

The rasp of a zipper tripped her heart to a faster beat. If they were caught, they would be teased mercilessly.

“You’ve got to help.” His gruff voice tickled her ear.

“Okay. Whatever you want,” she whispered.

“Let me go. Your pants. Off.”

Silly her. Of course. She was plastered to him, and her pants had to come off.

When her feet hit the floor, he took advantage of her, placing a few inches between them. He dipped down and sucked in one nipple. She moaned. Her pussy spasmed.

“I love that sound.” He straightened after pushing her pants down her hips.

“As much as I love doing this?” She dropped a hand between his legs and massaged his tight balls.

“Hell. Don’t. I need to be in you.” His voice deep and husky with need.

She wanted the same, wanted his touch, his kisses, his hands roaming every inch of her body. Life was so good ever since they found each other. If everyone would leave them alone, it would even be better. She refused to believe that the board would find Wolf anything but innocent. He loved the club as much as he loved her.

His mouth took hers as he lifted her off the floor and leaned her against the shelving. In one effortless move, he thrust into her.

“Hold on tight.”

“Yes. Please,” she barely muttered.

Amazing how he lifted and slammed her onto his cock as he pumped his hips. She loved how strong he was, how he held her like a doll. There was nothing small about her.

His every movement turned her on. Surely, in any second, she would combust into flames.

Feeling his muscles move in his arms and shoulders pushed her toward what they needed. Tingling and clenching centered where their bodies met and she dug her fingers into his back, trying to hold back the scream she wanted to release. Instead a low moan spilled out and his mouth covered hers and their sounds mixed.

All she could think of was how perfect they were for each other. How happy she was that he’d kidnapped her.

Their mouths separated as they took deep breaths.

“I love you so much, Wolf.” Relaxed and weak, her legs slid down his. He held her until she found her footing.

“Fuck, I love you too.” He buried his face in her hair.

He surrounded her with his body and strength and love and she never felt safer in her life.

Bam, bam, bam!

A fist slammed against the other side of the closet door.

They jerked part. Fumbled with their clothes. Her face flushed.

“Quit fucking around, Wolf. You’re needed in meeting,” Cutter’s half-amused, half-frustrated voice came through the door.

She covered her face and shook her head.

“They weren’t to be finished so quickly,” she choked out.

“Shh. Cutter won’t say anything.” Wolf tried to soothe her.

“If you don’t hurry and get the fuck out of there, I’ll announce it to the board.”

Wolf stepped back. His eyebrows rose in question, and she looked down and then back up. She nodded. He jerked open the door, standing in Cutter’s way, blocking his view of her.

“Don’t play that they are sitting there waiting for me. I know that Speed has to go piss and get himself something to eat at every break.”

“Yeah, but that was fun interrupting your fun. The last few months you’ve been a pain in the ass, you know.”

“Sure, sure. Let’s go.” Wolf looked over his shoulder and gave her a half grin. No matter how hard he tried to hide it, he was worried.

She was too.

––––––––

Wolf rested his heels on the dashboard of his truck. He knew he was pressing it after only a week since he’d been cleared of any wrongdoing by the Brothers of Mayhem board. He probably should feel guilty, but he hadn’t lied. No club business had been communicated to the authorities. He’d simply mentioned to Angel where he would be for about an hour or so. The implication of Easy being around was unspoken. Technically, Wolf hadn’t been on club business. More of a personal one. The Feds had spotted Easy’s motorcycle outside his house just before Wolf had speculated on what had happened. He’d taken a chance. What was it to him that Angel brought his law enforcement friends with him?

The man would be his brother-in-law soon.

That was, if he could get Sofia to pinpoint a date. The ones he’d planned on had all been fucked up.

Someone moved in the shadows of the barn.

He sunk lower in his seat, dropping his feet to the floorboard.

When a big ass dog walked into the moonlight he relaxed, but he jumped when his phone vibrated in his pocket. Digging it out, he looked at the screen. What the hell did his brother want? He was probably pissed that the info Wolf had given him had been bogus.

Tempted to ignore the call, he decided to get it over with. He had a lot that needed to be said. “Yeah?”

“You’re a piece of shit, do you know that?”

“Is that any way to talk to your little brother?” He grinned. It felt good to get on his big brother’s nerves.

“You set me up. Ramon wasn’t there.”

“That’s not my fault. Maybe you’re losing your edge.”

“I told you I would help.”

“I don’t need it.”

There was a minute of silence.

“If his body shows up, I can’t promise it won’t lead back to you,” Thorn said in a soft voice, concern filled each word.

Even what he didn’t say was a lie.

“Are you trying to trap me? Are you recording this conversation?” Chances were he wasn’t but Wolf couldn’t help taking a jab at him.

“You know the fuck I’m not.”

“Then I will say, you would never find the body.”

“Some day, it could turn back up. Trick may offer to help, but he’ll hold it over your head.”

“This has nothing to do with our uncle.”

More silence.

Tired of the conversation, Wolf decided to end it. It was time. “Listen. I love you, big brother, but the club means more to me than you do. They’ve been there when you haven’t.”

“Damn it, Wolfgang —”

“Don’t call me that. Fuck.” He brushed back his hair with a shaking hand, looking around without seeing his surroundings. “I’m sorry, but that’s the way it has to be. I have to protect me and mine and that includes Sofia. You and her brother have to stay away. The club will take care of us. Easy will serve the rest of his life in prison, and we’ll all be safe from him, including your wife. I wish it could be different, but I’ve known it for some time now.”

“We’re family.”

“No. We’re not.” He leaned back in his seat and looked out the side window at the stars above. “We haven’t been since Dad died. Trick’s family. The club is family. You made your choice a long time ago. It was time that I did too.”

“What about Sofia? How does she feel about being a Mayhem Brother’s old lady? She probably grew up hating the club.” Thorn sounded tired.

“Turned out that Toro hated the club because of Stonewall,” the old president from a few years ago, “Easy, and Speed, you know, all who was left of the original six. Toro didn’t trust me, but she’s certain he would’ve eventually come around.” As she had pointed out a few times, her cousin never killed him, only threatened to. “She understands how the club works and everyone has been good to her. She’s fitting in. Anyway, she loves me. Whatever makes me happy, makes her happy.”

Damn, that felt good to say out loud. No one had ever placed his happiness and needs first. Not until Sofia. But she knew he felt the same. Then it hit him. He’d never told her that. Sure, he’d said he loved her, but he never explained how much.

“If that’s the way it’s going to be . . .” His brother’s voice drifted off.

“Yeah.” He refused to add that otherwise he’d always wonder if his brother’s friendly overtures stemmed from the hope of getting more information about the club. “Take care of yourself and your family.”

“You too. You know if at any time you need my—”

Wolf disconnected the call. He couldn’t listen to more of his brother’s bullshit. It had been too late for them. He’d needed his brother years ago.

His face felt cold. Then he realized what had happened. Swiping at the tears, he shook off the heavy gut feeling and cranked the truck.

A black SUV pulled up. Wolf stepped out of Old Red and waited for the MC’s sergeant at arms to join him. He nodded at Twofer, and they walked together toward the barn. The two Brothers standing guard waved and then seconds later drove off.

Without a word being said, Twofer stayed outside by the door. Wolf walked into the barn.

Once he was finished cleaning up a loose end, he’d head home to Sofia. Time for him to patch the ceiling and show her how much he loved her.
