Rough & Ready (Notorious Devils Book 5) by Hayley Faiman (16)

Paxton woke me up just as he promised he would, with his face between my thighs. My inhibitions somehow took a backseat, and I welcomed him as soon as my eyes fluttered open, spreading my legs as wide as I could and moving my hips, searching for more—more of his mouth, his tongue, his teeth, and the way he makes me feel.

“You’re taking our girl again?” Lis asks as we walk into the kitchen.

I freeze as Paxton’s hand slides around my waist and he presses his lips against my neck before pulling me even closer to his chest.

“Taking her home to be with her husband.” I blush at his words and I watch as Lis’ face goes soft as he takes me in.

“Home? Or that clubhouse?” Theo asks, his face not soft at all as he glances at us, his expression unreadable.

“Clubhouse. Don’t have a house here, yet,” Paxton says nonchalantly.

“Is this something you’re going to rectify?” Theo asks.

I wonder when, and how, Theo became all dad-like; but it’s kind of awesome seeing him stand up to Paxton. I bite the inside of my cheek as I turn to look at Lis with wide eyes. He grins back at me, sitting up a little straighter as though he’s ready to watch this show unfold.

“Yeah. My president’s wedding is this weekend; got a couple weeks where I’m gonna be gone, and after that, yeah,” he announces. I turn around in his arms, looking up at him.

“You’re going to be gone for weeks?” I ask in surprise.

“Yeah,” he shrugs, as if it’s no big deal.

“And you want me to stay in your club, alone?” I ask.

He doesn’t answer, his eyes narrowed on me, and he clenches his jaw, a muscle jumping in his cheek. Then he leans down and whispers so that only I can hear him.

“We’re leaving and we’ll discuss what happens, where you stay and what goes on in our marriage, when we’re fucking alone.”

“Paxton,” I whisper.

“Get your shit, I’ll meet you at the car,” he grunts before he turns around and stomps out of the room, slamming the door as he leaves the house.

“Think we pissed him off,” Lisandro announces. I look over at him to see he’s smiling.

“Why are you smiling about that?” I hiss.

“He’s even hotter pissed off,” he shrugs.

I close my eyes and fight my own smile, because it’s so true. Paxton is so much hotter angry.

“Got this for you yesterday. Mine and Lis’ numbers are programmed. You need a phone,” Theo murmurs as he takes the device from the table and hands it to me. It’s an iPhone 6, and it’s rose gold. Damn, my friends have great taste.

“This is too much,” I murmur.

“It’s not. Take it. We want to know you can contact us at any time you need us,” he says, his meaning perfectly clear.

“He’s waiting for you, sweetie pie,” Lisandro murmurs.

I look to him, waiting for more, for anything. If he gave me just one word that he wanted me to say, or if he said that I should, I probably would.

“Lis?”

“You’ve been waiting for this for over ten years. You need to give it a real shot,” he shrugs.

“What if it fails miserably?” I ask, biting my bottom lip.

“Then it will be something that failed; but at least you won’t spend your life wondering,” he whispers before he stands and wraps his arms around me in a tight hug. “Your life is worth living, so fucking live it, sweetie pie. Be wild.”

I take a step back, clutching the phone to my chest as tears fill my eyes.

“Be wild?” I ask, tipping my lips up in a smile.

“Be so fucking wild that you would shock the shit out of me,” he laughs.

“I’ll try,” I whisper.

“Go. Don’t try, fucking do,” he urges.

I give my friends a wave before I turn and walk away from them. Wild. Be wild. I’ve never done anything particularly crazy. Only in my head-over-heels falling in love state with Paxton did I do something semi-wild and marry him. Other than that, I’ve never been wild a day in my life. But maybe that’s what draws me to him. He has always been a wild card, since the moment I met him; being with him has always been so freeing.

He’s different now. He’s wilder, rougher, and a little scarier. He’s so opposite of me, it’s ridiculous; but maybe that’s exactly what I need.

Sucking in a breath, I walk out of the house, wearing the same clothes as yesterday, but feeling a sense of hope that I didn’t have before. Paxton is leaning against the passenger side door of his Ranchero, his head aimed down at his boots until he hears my footsteps.

I take him in as he lifts his head and gives me a side grin before he pushes off of the car and walks toward me. Once he’s closed the distance between us, his hands wrap around my hips as his head dips down, his lips caressing mine gently.

“Where’d you get the phone, baby?” he murmurs against my lips

“Theo and Lis gave it to me, just in case,” I admit on a sigh as his teeth nibble on my bottom lip.

“I just bet they fuckin’ did,” he chuckles, releasing me. He walks over to the car, opening the door as he watches me, waiting for me.

“Are you upset about it?” I ask as I make my way toward him and get inside of the car.

“Nah,” he shakes his head. “But as soon as I get back from my job, I’m going to get you a phone, and you can give that back.”

Pax,” I sigh.

“Not a pussy, babe. I’m a man. I can take care of you, which means I’ll buy you whatever shit you want or need. That bein’ said, it’s good they thought of a cell. Gotta say, that shit didn’t cross my mind, yet. But as soon as I get back, I’ll get your shit handled, yeah?” he announces, looking down at me.

“Yeah,” I murmur, lifting my chin to look up at him. He grins before he gives me a wink and then closes the heavy door.

I watch as he jogs around the front of the car before getting inside of the driver’s seat and starting the roaring engine. Paxton backs out of the driveway, heading toward Shasta. A few moments into our ride, he reaches out to turn up the radio. I reach over and turn it right back down.

“The fuck?” he asks, his eyes shifting to the side to look at me before he moves them back onto the road.

“I don’t want to live there, Paxton. Especially not without you,” I murmur as we make our way out of the city.

“You think my brothers would hurt you?” he asks, raising a brow.

“I think that you told me because I wasn’t tattooed that they could do whatever they wanted to me,” I point out, watching as his jaw clenches. “Also, sharing a bathroom is weird. I feel like it’s some kind of frat house.”

“Then I better get you to the ink shop,” he growls ignoring my comment about sharing a bathroom.

“No way in hell,” I cry out.

He swerves the car over to the side of the road, taking a dirt path to the middle of nowhere. He stops and throws the car in park with such force, I’m afraid that he’s going to break the gear shift. Then he unbuckles his seatbelt and turns to me.

I press my back up against the door, trying to get as much distance between us as possible. Though, since this is a bench seat, it wouldn’t take but one strong tug of my arm to be in his space.

“You in this with me? I mean, fuck, I thought we hashed this shit out last night,” he shouts.

“Tattoos are permanent, Paxton,” I whisper.

“Fuckin’ know that, Clee, that’s the whole fuckin’ point. We’re married. You planning on walkin’ out the fuckin’ door on me any time soon? I gotta worry about you leavin’ me?” he asks, narrowing his eyes on me.

“I don’t know. I’m trying this with you. We’re getting to know each other; but Paxton, we don’t know each other. In six months, you might hate the sight of me,” I murmur, trying and failing to look away from him. His light blue eyes hold me completely captive.

Never. Never could I hate the sight of all that is you, Cleo,” he murmurs as he scoots closer to me, his hand gently sliding up the outside of my thigh.

I hold my breath as his hand pushes my skirt up to my hips, leaving me completely bare to him. I didn’t have any clean panties to change into. His eyes don’t look anywhere but straight into mine as his hand moves to between my thighs.

“There’s no fuckin’ way all of this isn’t meant to be mine, forever,” he rasps as he fills my wet center with two fingers.

“Paxton,” I mutter as my whole body shivers.

I came less than two hours ago, but suddenly, I want more. I want him inside of me. I don’t know if I’ll ever get enough. I doubt it. Even the touch of his fingers anywhere on my body sends me into overdrive. It always has. It probably always will.

“You’re never leaving me, Cleo,” he rumbles.

I hear him shift around before his fingers leave me and he’s pulling me on top of him. I sit up, straddling his thighs, and gasp when he wraps his hand around my waist and yanks me down on top of him. His cock fills me full, so fucking full, I feel like I’m going to explode into a million pieces.

“Look at me,” he orders. My chin dips down to look into his blue eyes. “Not goin’ anywhere, Clee. You’re my wife, my woman, and my Old Lady.”

His hand slides up my waist, traveling up my body, and wraps around the side of my neck, his thumb running over my bottom lip as he just stares at me for a beat.

“I’m not part of your new life,” I admit.

“That’s where you’re wrong,” he whispers. “You’re mine. You’ve always been mine, and you’re part of my life. It’s different, and it’s new, and it’s something you have to get used to. You will, just like you acclimated to me being in the military and gone when you joined all those groups. This is no different,” he murmurs as his hands wrap around my waist. He starts to roll my hips for me.

“But are you mine?” I ask as I take over, rising and falling on his hard, thick length.

“Was yours the second you looked at me. Those green eyes rendered me speechless, Clee.”

“But are you mine, Paxton? Are you only mine now?” I ask, as my breath comes out in pants.

Paxton’s hands move up my back to fist in my hair. His chin tips down, and he watches me take him inside of my body for a few seconds before he lifts his head and his eyes connect with mine again.

“I’m yours, sweetheart. Fucking shit,” he rasps as one of his hands slides between us and his thumb presses against my clit. “Give me your pussy, sweetheart. Give me all of you.”

My legs start to shake with his words, and I feel my orgasm climbing before I throw back my head and let it completely take over me. The hand that’s still tangled in my hair tightens and yanks my neck back a little farther as his thumb on my clit disappears.

Then he drives into me from his seat. I’m arrested in my spot, unable to move, only able to feel. I let myself digest every single thrust of his cock driving deep inside of me. When he stills, I gasp as he fills me with his cum.

“Paxton,” I breathe when he releases his hold on me. I collapse against his chest, my lips finding his neck to place a gentle kiss there.

“Wear my mark, be mine in every way, Clee,” he whispers against the top of my hair.

“I’m scared,” I admit.

“Not leavin’ you again, sweetheart. Our lives begin right now. No more waiting around. I’m so fucking ready to be the husband I promised I’d be all those years ago,” he swears.

“We’re a mess. This is going to be a mess,” I mutter into his neck.

“Yeah, but it’s gonna be our mess—just you and me,” he mumbles. His hand tugs at my hair to bring my face away from his sweat soaked neck. “You and me, Cleo.”

I nod and bite my bottom lip. I want that. Deep down, I’ve always wanted that. This is a dream come true. But I know enough about dreams and reality to know that this could crash and burn. He’s not the same boy, and I’m not the same girl from a decade ago. I want to be cautious, but he’s not really allowing me that.

Then there’s this—the way we are together, when no one else is around and nothing else matters. This gives me the hope I desire for the future.

“You and me,” I nod.

“Yeah, sweetheart,” he murmurs. “Now let’s get back.”

I watch as his face breaks out in a slow grin, and then he moves his hands to my ass and grabs it with a rough squeeze before his lips brush against mine in a slow kiss.

“Can’t wait to fuck you again, Clee,” he mutters against my lips.

I watch as her pretty face blushes at my words, and my smile widens as she tries to climb off of my lap. I reach over to my glove box and grab some napkins, handing them to her so she can clean up. Her blush deepens to bright red as she quickly wipes between her legs and then holds the napkins in her hand.

I pull my jeans back up and tuck myself back in my pants before I take the napkins and roll down my window, throwing them into the wooded area at the side of the road. I then put the car in reverse to get back on the main highway.

“You just littered,” Cleo hisses.

“It’s biodegradable, sweetness. It’ll disintegrate in less than a week,” I chuckle as I make my way out to the main road.

Before she can buckle her seatbelt back up, I wrap my hand around her upper thigh and pull her next to me. Bench seats were made so your woman sits right next to you, not so she’s in the fucking corner all by herself.

“Paxton,” she whispers. The sound of her breathy whisper goes straight to my cock, every single time.

“Tell me about that boss of yours that was a dick, sweetheart,” I gently demand.

“There’s nothing to tell,” she shrugs. I squeeze her thigh a little tighter and she sighs. “I was young and naïve. Obviously, I’d just moved back to Sacramento from Texas. A few sweet words, a lot of little thoughtful actions with some serious coaxing and late nights at the office. One night, it just happened. I was okay because I thought he wanted more; like maybe all the shitty stuff happened, and I was going to end up with this really sweet lawyer, and everything would be okay.”

I grip the steering wheel so tight that I fear breaking it in half by the time she’s finished the beginning of her little reminiscent story.

“But?”

“But he only liked a challenge. Once he’d bested it, once I’d given in and slept with him, it was as if I didn’t exist anymore. He wasn’t purposely mean to me. He didn’t go out of his way to be rude or anything. But I wasn’t significant. I was his secretary and nothing else. I didn’t make a big deal about it. He hurt me, but I was stupid, and I wasn’t ready anyway,” she shrugs, looking straight ahead of us.

“I’m sorry he did that to you, sweetheart,” I say through gritted teeth.

In reality, I want to go and find him, beat the shit out of him, and tell him what a fucking piece of shit he is. But really, how fucking hypocritical of me? I left her, too; except, I did it in a much more hurtful manner.

I plan on making it up to her as much as she’ll let me. She wants this to happen between us just as much as I do. I’m bringing her completely into my life. Hopefully, she doesn’t run away screaming—scared shitless.

“This tattoo you and the other girls were telling me about, where would it go?” she asks, looking down at her lap.

“Where would you want my name, Clee?” I ask, trying to fight my grin.

“Your name, or that other name they call you?”

“Torch is my road name, I doubt anybody even knows my real first name,” I shrug.

“Seriously?” she asks, turning to face me.

“Serious, babe. Just like nobody knew my first name when I was in the service. They all just called me Hill. Same goes here, except they know me as Torch. You want Paxton tattooed on your body, too, then we can do both; but Torch is what you need.”

“I’ve never even thought about a tattoo before. I have no clue where I could put one that would look cute,” she mumbles.

“Would love it if you put it somewhere that it would be seen,” I say as I rub my thumb on the soft skin of her thigh.

We continue to drive in silence for at least another thirty minutes, until I feel her eyes on me, and then she speaks.

“What about my shoulder? That way I could hide it for work, or whatever, but a tank or an off the shoulder shirt would show it off?” she asks.

I can’t help the way my chest swells with pride. I don’t deserve to have my brand on her, not at this point; and yet, she’s willing to do it for me.

“Yeah?” I ask.

“Yeah,” she nods.

“So, I gotta go with one of the brothers for work on Monday. I’ll leave you my car, and maybe you can stay with his Old Lady?”

“Have I met her yet?” she asks.

“Naw, Genny doesn’t come down to the clubhouse much. It’s Soar’s Old Lady,” I explain.

“Soar has an Old Lady?” she asks with wide eyes, confusing me.

“Yeah, his wife, Genny.”

“Interesting,” she mutters. My hand on her thigh tightens, a-fuckin-gain.

“Nothing happened,” she quickly cries out. I release her, not realizing that I had such a tight grip on her leg. “We just talked. I just didn’t know he was married. He didn’t act like he was.”

“Yeah, well, Soar never acts like he’s married,” I chuckle. “You’ll meet her at the wedding; then Monday you can stay with her, keep each other company for a couple weeks.”

“Yeah, okay,” she mutters. I shake my head.

She’s thinking, which could be good—but odds are, it probably isn’t. Doesn’t matter. We’re almost at the clubhouse, and I’m about half an hour away from being balls deep inside her cunt again.
