Bear Lover (She-Shifters of Hell's Corner Book 6) by Candace Ayers (7)

Luna

The closer we got to my place, the tighter I held onto him. He sped like he was afraid I was going to change my mind. I wasn’t. My body was on fire. I’d never felt anything like it. I wanted nothing more than to rip my clothes off and beg him to touch me. It was suddenly incomprehensible that I’d waited so long to meet Pratt, or that I was ever hesitant about him being in my life. Mates were intense, yes, but this was more. I liked him. He was big and dangerous, and rough, but also sweet and thoughtful, and protective.

Main Street was busy as Pratt pulled onto it. There were cars parking all over near Sonnie’s for her speed dating event. Pratt had to slow to a crawl to get through the crowds. Every second made me even more anxious to get to my apartment. I flattened my hand on his stomach and held him tighter. I needed us to get off the bike and into my apartment. My body felt like it was seconds away from going up in flames.

Pratt parked in front of my apartment and reached around to help me off. As soon as my feet were on the ground, he was off the bike and ushering me towards my door.

“Luna! Pratt!” Carter’s voice rang out.

I didn’t look back at her. “Just keep walking.”

“I heard that!”

“Fuck.” I blew a heavy sigh out that had my hair flying around my face.

“I’m trying to.” Pratt looked down at me with the same burning intensity reflected in his eyes. He scooped me up into his arms. “Sorry, Carter, we’re busy!”

“Hey!”

I laughed and looked over Pratt’s shoulder to see Carter grinning at me. She mouthed something that looked an awful lot like ‘slut’ and then winked before waving me off. I held onto Pratt’s neck as he bounded up the stairs, holding me tightly to his chest. I was glad he’d gotten us out of there.

Once we were in my apartment, he put me down and kicked the door closed. “Tell me if I’m being too forward, Luna, but all I want to do is rip that dress off you. I don’t want to scare you. I’ll do things any way you want. Whatever you’re comfortable with.”

I felt my body flush. I wanted the same thing. More than I wanted my next breath. “This is crazy, but I’m perfectly comfortable and I want you.”

“I’m not rushing you, am I?” He stood there, looking like he was about to shift, shaking as he battled what little restraint he had left. “I don’t want to rush you. I can leave. We can take this slower if that’s what you want. Just say the word. But, please, if you’re going to say it, say it now while I can still maintain enough control to walk out that door, Luna.”

“You’re not rushing me. I feel it, too. I need you now. I need all of you now.”

“Then come here.”

My heart lodged in my throat. I was about to do something that I’d always sworn I wouldn’t. I wanted him. I wanted my mate. Whatever fear I’d had melted away. All that was left was the burning desire to sink my teeth into him and claim him and have him do the same to me.

I watched as Pratt sat on the arm of my couch and raised an eyebrow as the couch protested with a worrisome creak. He was a big man. I knew that he could probably toss me a hundred yards without even trying, but I also sniffed no sense of danger in the air. He wouldn’t hurt me. That mate bond was a magical thing.

I wanted to be sexy for him. I wanted to snap that little control he had left. It made no sense, but I wanted to see how far I could push him. I wanted to know him in every way and his breaking point was important to me. I slipped the shoulder of my dress down one arm and bit my lip.

He was a biker. I’d heard stories about the women in the clubs and what they did for fun, what had gone on in Muddy’s house and for a second I felt a rising insecurity. Until I noticed the expression on his face. I’d have to be blind not to read that look. The man was looking at me as though I was the only woman on the planet and the most beautiful sight he’d ever seen. He was practically drooling.

The power I felt from his expression was empowering. I pushed the other sleeve down and turned my back to him. Peering at him over my shoulder, I pushed the top of my dress down, revealing my strapless bra. Keeping my back to him, I licked my lips and slid the dress over my hips letting it fall to the floor. I stepped out of my sandals and turned to face Pratt in just my bra and panties. They matched. One of Charlie’s finest creations.

I wanted to kiss her when I saw the look of wonderment on his face. He took in the leather and lace of the matching set like a starving man looking at a steak dinner. I was going to be his appetizer, entrée, and dessert.

“That is…wow. Just wow.” Pratt’s voice was a hoarse growl, sending waves of desire to my core.

I reached behind me and unhooked the bra, but kept my elbows at my sides so I was still covered. “Lose the shirt.” I supposed the power was going to my head as I barked out the order.

He ripped it over his head and tossed it away from him. His broad, strong chest was tan and covered in colorful tattoos. His arms flexed as he balled his fists at his side.

I let my bra fall away and stood still while he caressed me with a heated look. My nipples pebbled under his gaze and goosebumps broke out across my arms. I needed the game to be over soon. I needed him. I was going to have him.

I walked over to him and knelt at his feet. Looking up at his tense face, I stroked my fingers over his belt buckle and then quietly undid his belt and pulled it free. My fingers brushed his lower stomach as I released the button and slowly pulled down his zipper. My hands shook as I stroked them down his sides and pushed his jeans lower. He stood up and let me push them down to his knees before sitting back on the arm of the couch again.

“Luna…”

In front of me was an impressive sight. Pratt was long and thick. I’d tested toys that wished they were hung like Pratt. Knowing he didn’t wear underwear, knowing that he’d always be that much more ready for me, it did something to me. I trailed my hands up his thighs and met his eyes.

I grasped the base of him and stroked up to the tip before sticking out my tongue and rubbing the tip against it. I tasted him and moaned. Like some kind of wild animal, the taste of him fueled that fire. I flatted my tongue and opened my mouth wider before taking the first couple of inches in. I closed my lips around him and stroked him with my tongue while sucking.

Pratt’s hips bucked and he growled violently before lodging his hands in my hair. “Luna. Fuck.”

I sucked more of him into my mouth and circled the rest of him with my fist while twisting and working him up and down. I hollowed out my cheeks and swirled my tongue. Every trick I’d ever read about, I did it. I wanted to make him forget any other woman who’d ever even looked at him. He was mine.

“I’m not going to last if you don’t stop.” He was on the edge of losing that control.

I sucked harder, swirled my tongue up to the tip and tasted him there. I looked up at him again and met his eyes. I let my teeth lightly scrape the top of his shaft and heard my couch crack where he was holding it in a desperate grip. I couldn’t help but feel proud.

Pratt grabbed me and dragged me to my feet. “I’m not coming until I’m in you.”

I licked my lips and pouted. “What about what I want?”

He pulled me into his chest. “I will give you everything you want. After this.”

A smile lifted my lips. “Everything I want?”

He nodded. “Everything. Anything.”

I leaned in closer and pressed my lips against his ear. “I want to be yours.”
