Billionaire's Valentine - A Standalone Novel (A Billionaire Boss Office Romance Love Story) (Billionaires - Book #7) by Claire Adams (77)

Chapter Twenty

Jordan

As we pulled up to Chase’s house, I couldn’t help but remember the day I hid in his safe room and Chase almost died. It was so eerie at his house. I was sure there had to be someone waiting to jump us when we walked in.

“Maybe we should just go to a hotel?” I asked.

My eyes darted back and forth around the front entrance to the house as I waited for the inevitable person to move from their hiding spot. I felt my heart pounding harder and harder as Chase got out of the car to go inside.

I didn’t want to be left outside in the car. I was terrified that someone was watching his house and that they would hurt me.

“It’s all right. I’m sure we are fine for today. But I’ll go walk through just to make sure,” Chase said as he made his way to the front door.

“Oh, no, you don’t. I’m not staying out in the car alone.” I jumped up and was behind him in less than two seconds.

He just laughed and held onto my hand as we walked inside. He was a strong man. I liked that he was built to take care of me. Even though we had been through so much in the last few days, I still felt like he could keep me safe. I still felt like he would do anything to keep me from getting hurt.

The one thing I noticed most was how at ease Chase seemed since we had gotten married. His shoulders were more relaxed, and his whole body appeared to have a sense of relief. I wasn’t sure if it was getting married, talking to his father, or deciding to go to the police that was to blame for his new, cooler temperament, but I liked it.

The house had been thoroughly ransacked, but we knew that already. “I think you should take a shower first. I’ll stay out here,” Chase said as we walked through the rest of the house.

“All right.”

I knew there was no need to argue with him, both of us felt uneasy about being in the house. It was creepy. I imagined it was a similar feeling to being in a home where a murder had occurred. You could tell there were happy times in the home, but the lasting memory would always be the violence that had happened only a few short days before.

“Are you hungry?” Chase asked as I started to undress in the master bath.

“Starving.”

“I’ll make you some eggs,” he said as he left the room.

I was starting to think that eggs were the only thing Chase knew how to make. But I was significantly hungry, so eggs would be just fine. My body was tired, more like exhausted, as I stepped inside the warm shower.

The pulsing massage heads of the shower instantly went to work on my sore muscles. I closed my eyes as I tried to relax. So much had happened in the last few days, so much more than I could have ever imagined.

For the first time since I arrived in America, I started to regret my decision to come. If I had stayed in Liechtenstein, I would have been safe. I wouldn’t have met Chase and I wouldn’t have to deal with the sense of dread and fear over something happening to him.

I let the warm water engulf me as I thought of my mother and Ana. I missed them dearly and really wanted to talk to them as soon as possible. But as I turned the water off, I was rushed back to the present and how I genuinely cared about Chase. I didn’t want anything to happen to him. I thought, together, we had a possibility of getting him out of his situation alive. Together, we worked really damn well, and I was prepared to stay with him.

There wasn’t a feeling of obligation in staying with Chase. I genuinely had feelings for him. It was crazy to think after such a short time that I would be able to have feelings, but I did. My stomach fluttered anytime I was near him. My mouth got dry when I tried to talk around him. My heart raced at the thought of making love to him. And now, we had just become husband and wife. I had to do everything possible to help him in his situation.

“Chase,” I yelled out.

“Just a second.”

I waited for about a minute before I dropped my towel and walked out to the main door in the hallway.

“Chase,” I beckoned.

Chase took the eggs off the stove and then turned to look at me. I stood naked as I leaned against the doorframe and licked my lips to tease him. Chase opened his prescription bottle of pain medication and took one before he made his way down the hallway.

“You, my wife, are sexy as fuck,” he said, as his lips stopped only inches away from mine.

“I like that.”

“It’s true. I’m the luckiest man in the world.”

Chase let his fingertips glide gently from my neck, down over my erect nipple and then slowly down my abdomen. The whole time, he kept direct eye contact with me. It was intense and made my whole body shiver with excitement.

“Lie on the bed,” he ordered me.

“No,” I teased.

“Oh, did you just say no?”

“Yep, you’re too tired. You lie on the bed.” I smiled.

Chase knew I was right. His body had to have been sore from our afternoon at the pond. There was no way he had enough energy to be on top of me again. I knew he was in pain; I had just watched him take his second pain pill in the last hour. I couldn’t contribute to that pain.

“How about we both lie in the bed?” he teased as he started to get undressed.

“Yes.”

Chase locked his bedroom door behind us as we both climbed into his silk-covered bed. The fabric felt delightful against my naked body. I quickly pressed myself up against Chase and pulled the silk covers up to cover my ass.

The comfort of the bed quickly overcame both of us, and I felt myself drifting off to sleep in Chase’s arms. We were both still so exhausted. It wasn’t as sexy as we would have wanted for our first night as husband and wife, but it would have to do. We fell asleep naked in each other’s arms.

Surprisingly, we both slept extremely well. It was total peace all night long, and both of us were just too tired to fight off the sleep.

As we woke up and snuggled naked in his bed, I couldn’t help but giggle a little. We were already turning into the old married couple who chose sleep over sex. It was pretty funny to me.

“Good morning, Mr. Foster,” I whispered as I kissed his chest.

Chase pulled his arm tight around my body and held on to me tightly. I felt his lips kiss my hair as he started to wake up.

“Good morning, Mrs. Foster,” he said sweetly.

“Are you ready to do this?” I asked as I sat up on my arm.

There was already a sense of closeness between the two of us, a level of comfort that we felt. It was as if we had known each other for years, already. I certainly didn’t feel like we had only met a few short days before.

“I’m ready,” he said as he pulled my hand down and put it on his raging hard cock.

“Well, I was talking about going to the police station.” I smiled. “But I think we could take care of this before we got going.”

Slowly, I let my hand move up and down his hard, smooth shaft. My eyes stayed focused on his, and I watched the pleasure of my touch in his eyes. He closed his eyes as his body filled with desire, and I couldn’t resist for another moment.

I moved my body gently on top of Chase and let his cock slide inside of me, as I balanced myself with my hands on his shoulders. I was acutely aware of his rib pain and didn’t want to cause any more pain for him. I hoped that we could have a fun session of love making with him on his back, relaxing and me doing all the work.

But Chase had other plans. He didn’t want to just lay back and relax. He wanted to show me how much I was going to enjoy being married to him.

His thumb pressed against my clit as his hips thrust high up into the air. Suddenly, my control over the situation was gone. Just the touch of his thumb on my clit had my body shaking with excitement. I slowed my hip movements to try and avoid the excitement he was delivering to my body, but there was no avoiding it. I loved it. I loved absolutely every second of his hands on my body. I didn’t ever want him to stop touching me.

I leaned back and put my hands on his knees as I exposed my clit even more to him. I felt the ecstasy as it moved through my body, but I didn’t give into it at first. Instead, I reached around and let one of my hands grab hold of his balls and tug on them slightly. The movement clearly shocked Chase, and he stopped moving all together.

At first, I thought my ball tugging had hurt him, but then I realized it just threw him off for a minute. Shortly after, I saw him smile as I pulled a little harder on his delicate balls. I didn’t pull hard enough to hurt him, just enough to give him a sexual stimulation that he might not have expected from me.

“Do you like?” I whispered as I began thrusting my hips harder.

“Yes.”

His short, out of breath answer was all I needed to spur on my other ideas of fun. I released his balls and then let my nails glide across them gently. It was a totally different sensation, but it garnered the same response. He stopped moving and looked at me in shock. I could tell that he didn’t expect for me to know any of these moves. But just because I wasn’t extremely experienced sexually didn’t mean my girlfriends and I hadn’t talked in depth about our fun, secret moves.

“Fuck, Jordan, you’re my fucking wife. I can’t believe this,” Chase said out of breath as he thrust into me in a search for his orgasm.

“I know. It’s pretty crazy that I have a husband,” I said as my finger began to stroke the area just below his sensitive balls.

My new moves obviously impressed him. I knew that when he was feeling better, I was going to get a whole lot of payback. Of course, I wouldn’t mind sexual payback at all. It sounded like a lot of fun to me.

Our bodies only took another minute before we both screamed out with excitement as the shiver of orgasm rocked us. It was a morning delight that I couldn’t wait to repeat over and over throughout our marriage – assuming the two of us made it through the rest of the week and away from the dangers that Escabar posed to us both.

As our bodies rose and fell from the exertion, I couldn’t help but laugh. It had only been ten days since I had walked Ana to the plane to take her journey to America. The reality of that thought woke me up right away. It was really crazy how much could happen in just ten short days.

“I’ve got to do something,” I said as I found my cell phone and logged into my email.

“What’s up?”

“I suddenly had a horrible feeling about Ana. I just wanted to check my email to see if by chance she had sent me a message.”

Chase watched as I scrolled through my messages. He rubbed my back in support as the disappointment on my face showed that I had not heard anything from her.

“When this is over, I promise we will go to Miami and look for her.”

“Well, we better get this over with, then,” I said.

“Yes, let me shower and we can get going.”

I watched as Chase took his naked ass to the shower. The moment felt as close to perfect as it could be. The only major problem with the moment was that we were only days away from our life’s ending, but other than that – perfect.

I gathered up my things and waited for Chase on the couch. I had to practice some deep breathing as I tried to calm my nerves. Slowly, I took a breath in and then let it out again as I waited. But it didn’t matter how much deep breathing I did, I was still scared to death that we might be making the wrong decision.

Going to the police seemed like the only right decision, but yet it could also be the wrong decision. If Escabar found out we went to the police, any chance of us getting out of this alive would be over. Yet, he was already threatening to end things by the end of the week, if Chase didn’t come up with the money that was needed and hand over the black book.

I still had the duplicate black book, just in case it would come in handy at some point. But I figured going to the police would mean that Chase was going to hand over the black book in exchange for safety from them. Safety that only the police could offer someone, but safety that I wasn’t sure would really prevent Escabar from getting rid of us both. There were so many variables in play, so many things that could go wrong. It was crazier than any crime television episode I had ever watched.

“Ready?” Chase asked as he came out of the bedroom.

“Yep, as ready as I’ll ever be.”

“Let’s do this.”

He grabbed my hand, and we walked out to the car together. It was a scene right out of any number of crime shows I had watched over the years. We were turning ourselves in and hoping the police could keep us safe. It really was our only hope.

As we arrived at the police station, I kept myself tucked in behind Chase. I had watched so many shows, but I had never been in an actual police station. It was extremely intimidating.

“We are here for Officer Reyes,” Chase said as we stood at the front desk.

“Can I ask what this is regarding?” the woman said without looking up at us.

“Yes, I stole a book of contact names from Jose Escabar, and he’s going to kill me.”

The officer at the front desk suddenly seemed much more interested in talking to us. She looked at Chase and then at me before picking up the phone and dialing a number.

“I’ve got a young couple up here I think you’ll want to speak with.”

Chase and I just looked at each other with wide eyes. It was real. We were there. We had spent the last twenty minutes driving in circles to make sure we had not been followed. As we stood there waiting for the officer to come and speak with us, I couldn’t help but think that we might be doing the wrong thing.

What if the police just took the black book from us and didn’t offer us any real protection? What if they weren’t able to protect us? It was entirely possible we were still going to have to deal with Escabar on our own, but I hoped that the police would be able to help us out of the mess in some way.

“I’m Officer Reyes. How can I help you?” the tall, tan officer said to us as he reached his hand out and shook hands with Chase.

“My friend Carlos said you could help us,” Chase said as he pulled the black book out of his back pocket.

Officer Reyes took the book and thumbed through it for about two seconds.

“Is this legit, kid?”

“Yes, sir.”

“Robin, book us in room two and get the Captain down here as soon as possible,” he said to the woman at the front desk. “You two are in some serious shit.”

“Yes, sir. That’s why my wife and I came to you.”

Chase squeezed my hand and my heart fluttered. It was the first time I had been called his wife in public. It threw me off at first, but it was the truth. He and I were husband and wife now, and I was pretty damn excited about it.

“Follow me,” Officer Reyes said as he opened the door and walked into the back office area of the police station.

We walked past a group of desks and then down a long hallway. I didn’t know what exactly I had expected, but it seemed so uneventful at the police station that morning. Maybe I have watched one too many crime dramas, I thought as we made our way down a well-lit hallway with several doors on either side of us.

“It’s standard procedure, but I’m going to need to talk to each of you separately,” Officer Reyes said.

“Okay, sure. I’m happy to come in and talk with you,” Chase said as he let go of my hand.

“Actually, I’d like to talk with your wife first, if you don’t mind.”

It was the first feeling of things being out of control that I had in the police station. We certainly were not in charge, at all. Officer Reyes and the other officers were going to be in charge through the entire process.

“That’s fine,” I said as I kissed Chase on the cheek. “I’ve probably got a lot less to say than you do, honey.”

“Great, come this way, miss…”

“Mrs. Foster,” Chase interrupted.

“Yes, Mrs. Foster. Wait, are you Reynold Foster’s son?” the officer asked as he paused.

“Yes, sir. Chase Foster.”

“Shit,” the officer said as he opened the door to the small meeting room.
