Chapter 20
Shaw took Robin to a white Maserati in the bar’s parking lot and opened the passenger door for her. “Man, Shaw, do you own anything that’s not worth more than a small fortune?” Robin eyed the leather interior and the dashboard full of things she had no idea of what they did.
His response came quickly, “No. I only want the best. Hence, I want you, baby.”
He went around the sports car and got in and started the car, peeling out of the parking lot and making Robin grab the oh-shit bar. “Shaw!”
“Scared?” he asked with a deep chuckle.
Robin knew that’s exactly what he was aiming for, to scare the crap out of her. But how far would he go to get the reaction he sought?
“Not hardly.” Robin winked at him. “I did see a fierce wolf gnashing his razor-sharp teeth in my face once before, so I’m a little jaded in the fear department.”
Shaw zipped around a sharp corner, making the wheels squeal. “Oh, baby, do not provoke me. I love the way you smell when you’re afraid.” He hit the open road and pressed the gas pedal to the floor. Robin’s body pressed into the leather seat that seemed to be made just for such a thing, it hugged her securely, but that didn’t help her one bit.
“Shaw! Damn! Slow the hell down!” she shouted over the loud sound the engine made.
He laughed as he thoroughly enjoyed the high speed. “Okay, whatever you want.” He let off the gas and hit the brake, making the car spin to one side, then they were heading in the opposite direction.
“God! Shaw, you’re a maniac!” Robin screamed.
Shaw loved her reactions and hauled ass out to a desolate location. He wanted to prove to the girl that she could face fear and live through it without it hurting her one little bit. In fact, it could do exactly the opposite of hurting her—it could make her stronger, tougher, and more willing to take risks she never thought she would. Like letting him bite her and turn her into his mate.
Robin hung on for dear life, and at first, she feared for her life. But then she began to have faith in Shaw’s abilities to drive the fast car as he seemed to almost be a part of the fantastic machine. Once she trusted him, she started to have fun. When he took a sharp left and headed up a steep hill, she found herself shouting something very different, “Yah! Woo-hoo!”
The smile on Shaw’s face went even bigger, then he came to a stop and looked at her with a sinister grin on his handsome face. Robin panted with excitement as she looked out the window to see where they’d stopped.
Trees were everywhere. The darkness made it hard to see, but the snowy surface of the forest floor illuminated the night a bit. When she looked back at Shaw, she heard him say, “Run.”
“What?” she asked then saw him reaching for the door handle and her instincts kicked in. He was going to chase her. “No!”
He didn’t say a word, just opened his door and she opened hers and bolted into the woods. In a panicked flash, she was gone, and Shaw only walked after the fleeing girl.
He laughed wickedly, trying to evoke more fear in her as he breathed in the luscious scent of her fear. “I’m coming to get you, baby.”
A light yelp met his ears, and he went toward it, knowing she’d fallen. Going a bit faster, he caught up to her in no time and saw his chance to get in front of her as he could jump off a hill and would end up right in her path.
She was going as fast as her little human legs could take her, and he knew she was really afraid of him. He howled as he jumped and she screamed. When he landed on his feet in front of her and turned to look at her, she stopped, freezing in her tracks. “Shaw?”
He took a big sniff, letting her fear excite him. His need for her became too great to wait any longer, and he took a giant leap, grabbing her and rolling with her over the ground, ending with her flat on her back. He growled then kissed her.
Robin couldn’t believe how relieved she was to feel his mouth on hers, kissing her instead of biting her the way she feared. His body warmed hers as he ground his swelling bulge against her quickly dampening core.
When he came up for air, he laughed. “Scared you, didn’t I?”
She ran her hands over his bearded cheeks. “In my defense, you can become something that might kill me.”
He kissed her cheek then the tip of her nose. “I’ve got control of the beast.” His mouth moved down her neck then he moved down further, pulling the buttons on her shirt off one at a time until her shirt was useless. He nuzzled her bra up, uncovering a pert breast. The nipple pebbled with the cold air that hit it.
Robin ran her hands through his thick hair, groaning with desire as he bit and nipped her tit then sucked it until she felt she might climax. “Shaw…” she moaned.
“Robin…” he moaned right back. “Let me make love to you. I’m dying for you.”
Shaw had her in the palm of his hand. Her body sang only for him. “Yes, Shaw… Take me… Show me who I belong to.”
“You’re mine, baby. Only mine,” he growled in her ear before he sat up, taking off his jacket and laying it out on the ground.
He moved her to lie on his jacket before ridding her of her jeans and shoes. She lay nearly naked, watching him with adoring eyes. When he released his erection from his pants, Robin groaned as she looked at it. “Shaw, I want you inside of me, baby. I want it so damn bad I can’t think of anything else. Please.”
Pleased with her admitting her need for him, he moved his body over her, thrusting his massive cock into her wet heat. She cried out as he stretched her out once more. Her nails dug into his biceps as she held onto him. He moved slowly at first, letting her get used to his size.
When her eyes closed and she relaxed her body, he knew she’d be all right and moved faster. Shaw couldn’t take his eyes off her beautiful face. Even though he had her right there underneath him, connected to her in such an intimate way, his heart ached to have her completely. He buried his face in her neck, hating the fact a mere female ruled him. With the first sniff of her, she’d taken everything away from him. His power, his strength, his will. She owned him, and she had no idea just how much power she had over him.
With every stroke he made, he gave her more of himself. His lips grazed over her sweet neck. His teeth nipped her earlobe, then he whispered, “You’re mine, Robin Winters. Only mine.”
She moaned, “Shaw, I am yours. Only yours.”
He nipped her neck, and she made a delightful sound. Sucking the place he’d nipped, he took her skin between his teeth and pulled it, making her cry out in ecstasy. Her body quaked, and she came all over his cock.
Her body arched up to meet his as her body clenched around him. He couldn’t take it anymore and came with her. Their loud pants rang through the forest. There, out in the open, they were no more or less than any other creature in the woods of Colorado that night.
Robin basked in the afterglow of the orgasm and sighed when Shaw kissed the soft spot behind her ear, whispering, “I love you, Robin. I always will.”
She ran her hands over his muscular back as she wondered if what he said was really true. Then she stopped thinking about that and looked deep inside herself. With him, she was better. With him, she felt different. And he was always on her mind. Even when she’d been mad at him or afraid of him, he had always been there. “I love you, Shaw Lykan.”
Shaw couldn’t believe what he’d heard. He pulled his head back to look at her. “You do?”
She nodded and bit her lip. “But I’m afraid of so much.”
He nodded, understanding why she had huge fears. He’d spent the week they’d been apart thinking about all she’d said to him. Her family would indeed leave this Earth, and she would never see them again. And he felt like that held her back more so than anything else did.
“You know, you said you’d lose your family, and I get you not wanting that. But I’ve been thinking about that whole thing.” He kissed her cheek and pulled her to sit up so he could get her dressed. He didn’t want her to freeze out there.
“You have?” she asked as she watched the big strong man put her jeans back on after putting himself away in his pants. She knew he could’ve left her to put her clothes back on, but he wanted to do it for her. A real monster wouldn’t care to do such a thoughtful thing.
Shaw went on, “I have and what I wanted to tell you was this. You will see your family members pass. But you’ll have a rare gift too. You see, you’ll be here for future generations of your family. Like an angel right here on Earth to watch over your sisters’ children, then their children after that, and on and on it’ll go.”
“I never thought of that.” Robin took Shaw’s hand, and he pulled her up, then he picked her up and put her on his shoulders. She laughed as she felt so tall and kind of like a little kid. It had been so many years since her father had carried her on his shoulders. Shaw was taking her heart by storm, and she felt helpless to stop anything. Nor did she think she wanted to anymore.
