Chapter Nine
Beau
I moved through the crowd, finding openings and sliding my way past gyrating bodies, using the music as my guide. If Kurt could keep up, great, otherwise he'd have to find me. I was here to have fun and I wasn't about to let him get in the way. I had a man I was specifically looking for. The one from the other night, Sean. He was the one I wanted to go home with.
I felt everybody's eyes on me, it wasn't just that I was a prince, I looked good out there. I felt their desire pulse through me, giving me energy. I made eyes at some of the strangers, daring them to approach me.
Everyone on the dance floor pushed in towards me, trying to get closer, but I kept on squeezing through the cracks. I was sleek, and I was fast. I was on a mission to find Sean, with his beautiful dance moves. I knew there was a chance he’d already gone home with someone else or never even arrived in the first place. At the same time, my sixth sense was telling me he was here, on the floor with me somewhere, and he was close.
I heard cheers and roars coming from behind me and looked to see a group of people watching something. I saw Kurt near the front of the crowd, looking confused and curious.
It was the distraction I needed. Everybody else was moving back, which allowed me to move closer to the front.
Sean grabbed my hand.
"Didn't think I'd see you again so soon," he said.
"I'm here every night," I said.
"Yeah, well, after last night, it seemed like you might need to take some time off."
"I got it taken care of."
The crowd was starting to calm down. Whatever was going on had ended and Kurt was heading towards me.
"Who's that?" Sean asked.
"He's supposed to be the solution."
Kurt butted his stupid head in. "Who are you?" he asked.
"Kurt, this is Sean. Sean, this is Kurt."
"Turn around and spread your legs," Kurt said.
"Oh, I like this one," Sean said. He laughed. "Gets right to the point."
Kurt didn't even blink. "I need to check you for weapons."
"Yeah," Sean said. "I'm not feeling it. No, thanks," he looked over at me. "You want to go somewhere?"
"He's not going anywhere with you until I frisk you."
"He's fine," I said to Kurt. I looked to Sean. "Let's go. I'll follow you."
Sean turned around and Kurt grabbed his shoulder.
"Let go of me!" Sean said, loud enough to get some stares. "I told you don't touch me."
Kurt pulled him closer to give him a pat down. "This is for the safety of the Prince."
"I don't care what it's for," Sean said. "I said no!"
People nearby grabbed onto Kurt and pulled him away from Sean. He was trying to get away from them when I turned to Sean. "Now's our chance. Let's get out of here."
We both ran out the back exit. We didn't waste any time looking back.
