Stakeout (A Stalker Novel Book 1) by Karen Raines, Brittany Crowley (9)

Briella

Seeing Colby with his hand pumping up and down his shaft nearly had me busting through the shower door and riding him six ways to Sunday. But I need to tamp down my raging hormones. I’m gonna make him want me so bad he won’t be able to think straight. He wants to play the game? I’ll play it.

And I play to win.

Colby’s exiting the shower while glaring daggers at me. His towel is slung low on his hips and the water droplets make me want to bend down and lick them from his body. His V that leads to the Promised Land is right where I’d start.

Remembering the look on his face as he came all over the shower door has been branded into my brain. I couldn’t forget the look of pure ecstasy if I tried. What I wouldn’t give to pull him back into the giant shower and show him exactly what I’m capable of.

Right now, duty calls and today has to go off without a hitch. We have one month to figure this case out and I’m determined to deliver, hormones be damned.

“All the computers are up and running and the audio’s still good. We should be all set for her arrival in…” I look down at my watch. “Twenty minutes.”

I reluctantly forgo the shower knowing if I end up in there so will Colby… and we’re on the Mayor’s time. After throwing on a black tank, some cut off jean shorts and my converse, I notice Colby still watching me.

“Can I help you?”

“I needed plenty of help a few minutes ago.” He growls.

“From where I was standing, you didn’t look like you were being waterboarded.” I sling my bag on my shoulder after sticking my cell phone, wallet and camera inside. Once I throw my sunglasses in my hair, I go to the main entrance and swing the door open.

“Where are you going?”

“To do some surveillance. I want to see her arrive, see who’s with her.” As I shut the door I can hear him yelling for me to wait. But I need to get away from him. Being around him messes with my brain and I can’t think straight. Some distance is needed so I can get some clarity on this case once again.

If I would have jumped in the shower with him like my instincts were screaming for me to do, we’d still be in the shower and we would have missed her arrival. That’s completely unacceptable.

Our hut is a quick walk to where Nadia’s staying. Walking takes about five minutes and if I run I can get there in two. Perfect if a camera goes down or audio gets sketchy.

I was counting on it being a little busier around here. For the most part, it’s a ghost town. Not exactly ideal for being one with the people, seeing as I have no one to blend in with. Colby’s really going to have to watch himself. Not only is he tall, but he’s got the looks of a celebrity. Freaking gorgeous. He’s not a person you can easily forget and getting him to blend in is near impossible. Maybe I should force him to stay at our hut, in the shower… Stop it Bri. Get your mind out of the gutter!

“You’re going to pay for that.”

I jump and turn around swinging. My fist connects with something solid and I hear an oomph.

“It’s me, I come in peace!”

“Jesus Colby, how many times do I tell you not to sneak up on me?”

“Just making sure you’re paying attention to your surroundings.” He rubs at the side of his head. “I can check that off the list.”

“You should go back, she’s…”

Colby hushes me by pressing me up against a nearby tree and slamming his mouth to mine. I don’t know where this came from, but I’m not questioning it. I give as good as I get, my hands grip at his tank top trying to pull him closer. I’m just getting started when he pulls away appearing unaffected when I’m over here chest heaving, panties sopping wet.

“The Mayor’s wife just entered the premises.” He’s watching the house from behind the tree.

“What the fuck was that?” I whisper.

“We needed a cover.” He grins cockily and winks at me.

“They can’t even see us from here.” I grumble.

“It’s okay to admit it Bri.”

“I don’t know what you’re talking about Maitland.” When I go to look around him and see some of the action, I feel his hand start moving from my knee upwards. I halt his hand when it nearly reaches between my legs.

“I’m working here.”

“It’s normal to have feelings for me Bri.”

“God, have you always been this full of yourself?”

“I’m confident in my abilities, which you didn’t seem to have a problem with before. Don’t act like you didn’t want my cock back at the cabana.”

“Gross. Keep your crooked penis away from me.”

“Crooked? What? You must have been looking from a weird angle.” He pulls out the waist band of his gym shorts and looks down at his favorite appendage.

“Look, it’s not bent funny. Have a gander.”

I try to school my expression before looking because really, who would pass up the opportunity? God, he has a nice dick. Most girls claim there isn’t such a thing as a beautiful cock. But his is… it’s phenomenal. I know personally it’s smooth to the touch and the pronounced veins make me want to have a lick. His cock is large without being too much to handle. I don’t need to be split in two when getting down and dirty. Let’s face it, a vagina is only so deep and I don’t need to feel it bumping my teeth.

It must have been longer than a gander because before my very own eyes it starts to grow and it’s a sight to behold. It needs one of those entrance songs like a wrestler has.

“I guess you’re right.” I stick my hand in his pants and take him in my palm. It takes everything in me not to smile when he hisses between his teeth. “Not as crooked as I remember.” After removing my hand, I pull the camera from my backpack. We have excellent cover behind these trees to take some pictures of the perimeter.

“My dick’s gonna fucking fall off by the end of this job.” Colby mutters to himself.

I take several pictures, enough to be satisfied for right now. The rest of the day we can run through the video footage and audio to see if we can catch anything.

When I put my camera away and look back to Colby I see him kicking the sand and muttering under his breath. My eyes catch on the huge tent in his shorts. My, my, Mr. Maitland.

“Isn’t it weird that she has that many guards with her? And none of them are on the Mayor’s payroll.”

“Are you sure? I thought I saw Gomez going in the house with her.” Colby looks around the tree trying to spot all the security guards outside.

“We can check when we get back to our equipment. I would have been able to confirm if you didn’t have me pinned against the tree. Stuff like that can’t happen while we’re here Colby. We’re already dropping the ball on this job and we’ve only been here a couple of hours.”

“Noted. No funny business whilst doing surveillance. But, I make no promises when we’re alone.” His eyes burn into mine with promise of what’s to come. “But I agree that something’s off. Let’s go.”

Colby leads me back to the hut with his hand on the small of my back. My libido’s already through the roof and screaming out to play with Colby. Maybe I should join the yoga classes with Mrs. Stephenson to center myself and get a grip when I’m around him.

When we get back to the house I’m ready to take a cold fucking shower, but I can’t give him the satisfaction of knowing how badly he’s getting to me.

All thoughts of anything to do with Colby wipe away when we confirm the head of her security is indeed in the house, but none of the other security is recognizable.

“Why would he change up her security, unless…”

“She’s hiding something. But what?”

Colby turns on the audio that was muted and her voice carries throughout our hut.

“I can’t wait to see you pookie. Where are you taking me?”

Colby and I stare at each other with disgust as I mouth “Pookie?” We write down the restaurant and time she says as we listen to the rest of her conversation.

“Well my darling, looks like we’ll be fine dining tonight.”

“I thought you’d never take me out on a date.” I grab my bag once again and head for the door. “I didn’t pack my furs and tiara, I’ll be back in a bit.”

Literally all I brought was shorts, tanks and yoga pants. They won’t fly at the ritzy place we’re going tonight.

“Grab me something please. I didn’t pack my good shit either.”

With one glance back, I nod to Colby before catching Nadia giggling like a high schooler talking to the quarterback of the football team.

Game on. This is what I live for, why I do this job. With Colby here, there’s no doubt we’ll crack this case.

I just hope we’re not biting off more than we can chew.

In more ways than one.
