Erik sat back down, his lips compressing. Then he nodded.

Once they arrived at the airport, a man put the bags on a cart and within ten minutes they were aboard a private jet.

Erik gestured for her to sit in one of the brown leather seats and he sat down beside her. A steward ensured they were settled in, then left them alone in the cabin. As the plane taxied to the runway, she gazed around in awe at the luxurious surroundings. Dark mahogany and leather. A built in bar. Even a couch along the other side of the plane from the seats they were buckled into.

Once the plane took off, the steward returned with a bottle of wine, stemmed glasses, and a platter of sandwiches and veggies. He then disappeared again.

“Are you hungry?” Erik asked politely.

She’d eaten breakfast just before she’d left the apartment.

“No, thank you. Maybe later.” She had no idea how long their flight would be.

He took her hand and drew her to her feet, then guided her to the couch.

She sat down.

“Did you dress as I instructed?”

“Show me.”
