CHAPTER 27
Brock
I heard the door close, but I kept my ass planted on the bed. It had been weeks since Jimmy’s attack and I’d finally gotten the cast off and could put weight on my leg. Between that and my ribs it had been forever since I’d had Amanda under me and it was time. My body craved hers. Being so close to her every night and not being inside her was pure fucking torture. As much as I loved a good blow job, my dick desired more.
Not that my injuries had been the only thing in our way. Ever since Amanda had truly taken control of Marcello’s empire under Malcolm’s guidance, time hadn’t been on our side. We split the work down the middle. Honestly, she was the brains, and I was better at the muscle, even if I hadn’t been able to use them all lately. I knew it wasn’t what she expected to do with her life, but at least now she had the final say in what happened, instead of watching from the sidelines as punishment was meted out to people who didn’t deserve it.
“Brock? Where are you?” she called from downstairs.
“In the bedroom.”
Feet thundered on the stairs. “How did you get . . .” She came around the corner, and I was struck at how her new blond hair lit up her features. She was gorgeous either way, but I could tell the blond hair made her feel more comfortable in her own skin. After Jimmy’s death, she didn’t wait long shedding all pieces of Marcello that were left behind, from her hair to her name. She made sure all of it disappeared. On top of that, Nathan’s body was conveniently discovered, allowing Amanda to play the grieving widow and legally end her marriage to that piece of shit. She glanced down at my leg. “No more cast?”
“Nope. Now come here.”
I didn’t have to say anything else. Amanda began stripping as she walked across the room.
“I like the sound of that.” She crawled up over me, every inch of her creamy skin on display.
“Good, because I plan to fuck you until you can’t move.”
“Mmm . . .” she hummed. “I’m not sure that’s much of a threat. But we only have time for one round. Faith is expecting us for dinner.”
When she was close enough, I grabbed her hips, setting her down in my lap. “Well then, I better make it worth it.” I sank my hand into her hair at the base of her neck, bringing her lips to mine. The cherry taste was as familiar as it had been years ago.
She wrapped her arms around my neck, gliding her body across mine.
“Holy fuck, you’re wet and ready.”
She lifted a brow. “It’s been a while. Now stop talking and fuck me.”
“Always straight to the point.”
I brought her lips back to mine, my hands cupping her breasts. I ran my thumb over her nipple, enjoying the feel of it hardening further under my touch. Amanda rose onto her knees, taking hold of my dick and guiding it inside her. The heat of her body surrounding me almost made me come before I was ready. I gritted my teeth and forced myself to hold back. Not that Amanda was in the mood for that. The forced abstinence seemed to make us both wild as she rode me hard and fast.
Time to test out the knee. I wrapped one arm around her shoulder and the other around her waist, rolling us until I had her beneath me.
“Don’t hurt yourself,” she warned.
“I won’t.” I crashed my lips to hers.
The only sounds in the room were our heavy breathing and the headboard slamming into the wall as I thrust over and over again, my rhythm faltering as I tried to delay the orgasm that wanted free.
“Babe, I can’t hold on much longer.”
Amanda slipped her hand between our bodies, furious rubbing her clit. It wasn’t long before her walls tightened around me and I finally let myself go. Fire raced along every nerve as my body jerked into hers repeatedly. When I found the end of my release, I lowered myself over, doing my best to keep my weight from crushing her.
I brushed the hair from her face and pulled her tighter to me. “I love you.”
“I love you, too,” she answered as she snuggled closer.
My phone buzzed on the table beside my head. As much as I didn’t want to move, Amanda’s reminder about dinner made me reach up to see who it was. My parents were joining us all tonight. I glanced at the display and answered the call.
“Yes, Ashton.”
He laughed on the other end of the line. “I know you got the cast off today. Now get your ass out of that bed and shower. You don’t want to miss dinner tonight.”
“Says who?” I grumbled.
“Says me. You have things to take care of.”
He was right. I had a plan for tonight and I couldn’t ruin it by staying in bed all day. Hopefully we’d have time for that in the future.
“All right, all right, I’m up.”
“You better be and that means feet on the floor up. Not tenting the sheets up.”
“Fuck you.”
He laughed again. “See you in an hour.”
I dropped the phone on the bed. “Asshole.”
“I warned you when I got home we wouldn’t have long.”
“I was hoping you’d forget.” I pinched her ass, listening to her squeal and jump from the bed.
“You’re going to pay for that.”
I placed my hands behind my head. “We don’t have time for that. It’ll just have to wait until later.”
She practically growled at me, spinning on her heel and heading into the bathroom. The moment the door slammed, I leapt from the bed and ran into the bathroom, determined to make it up to her.
By the time we got the Faith and Malcolm’s everyone else had also arrived, including my mom and dad.
Mom hugged us both. “I can’t tell you how good it is to see you happy again.”
I pressed a kiss to her cheek. “I’m glad you’re happy.”
“Dinner’s ready,” Faith called from the kitchen.
“No delivery?” Miller asked.
I saw Malcolm moving to smack him upside the head, but Tess beat him to it.
“Ow,” he yelled, rubbing the back of his head.
“Don’t mind him, Mom. We’ll be right in.”
When the door to the kitchen shut he turned to her. “What was that for?”
“A reminder for you to behave. You’re lucky Tess got to you before I did,” his dad warned.
He stood and offered his hand to Tess. “Then let’s have dinner.”
I shook my head as they walked past. Malcolm offered to push my mom’s chair into the dining room, my dad following closely behind.
I lifted the glass to my lips and finished off the drink Malcolm poured me when I arrived. Ashton stepped up beside me.
“Coming with me tomorrow night?”
“I’ll be there,” I confirmed.
He smiled. “I like that things are back to normal.”
I glanced over at Elena and Amanda talking in the corner. “Well, as normal as they’re ever going to be.”
“Come on, let’s get dinner before Mom calls us a second time.”
I knew what he meant. Neither of us were going to want to deal with Malcolm if we disobeyed Faith. I walked over and took Amanda’s hand in mine.
“Hungry?”
“I’m starved,” she said with a smile that lit up the green of her eyes.
“Good, let’s go.” I offered her my arm and led her into the dining room.
I pulled out her chair.
“Thank you.” She took the seat, but I didn’t push her in. Not yet.
“Before I sit down, there’s something I need to do.”
She peeked up at me from beneath her lashes. “And what is that?”
“I think it’s time for me to take you somewhere to change your name again.” I pulled the small black box from my pocket and opened it. Gasps sounded all around us, but I couldn’t take my attention from Amanda.
“You better be planning on taking me more than there.”
“Where else am I supposed to take you?” I asked, loving the playful tone that had come back to her voice.
“You can take me anywhere.”
I slipped the ring from box and slid it onto her finger. She admired the four-carat, round solitaire that now adorned her hand.
“It’s beautiful.” She leaned forward, taking my lips in a kiss that if we weren’t careful could get out of control quickly.
And there was no missing the double meaning to her words. The woman was absolutely perfect for me.
When I looked up again, all our family surrounded us to offer their congratulations. As I shook hands and returned embraces, I realized one of the most important things all of this had taught me.
If you want something bad enough, don’t wait. Take it.
