The Billionaire She Could Not Resist (MANHATTAN BACHELORS Book 2) by Susan Westwood (10)

Chapter10

Weeks went by, filled with dates and fun, with hot steamy nights, long phone calls, surprises, and happiness. Lucas and Savannah had been seeing each other for a couple of months when he told her in the middle of the week to pack for a weekend getaway.

Savannah felt as if she was floating on air waiting from then until Friday when Lucas said he’d pick her up from work. She bubbled with happiness and anticipation all week, until finally the day came, and Leo and Natalie teased her gently all day long about running off for a romantic weekend. Leo confided in her that he was fairly jealous of her and was hoping to hear some of the juicy details when she got back to town. She said she would share a little of it. He was still living vicariously through her romance.

Leo, Natalie, and Savannah all turned their heads to look at Lucas when he walked in the door. His golden brown hair was slightly tousled, and his green eyes shone as he strode through the gallery. He was dressed in a dark blue suit and light blue, button-up shirt. He had on a navy and silver tie, and he looked as if he might have walked straight out of a fashion magazine.

Savannah felt her heart do somersaults as he came to them. He smiled at her friends and said hello to them. They both said hello as well and told them to have a good time that weekend. He embraced her and kissed her softly on her lips, grinning at her as his eyes danced.

“You come up with the best surprises. You always keep me guessing until the last minute, and I am always so impressed with what you do. How do you do that?” she asked him with a shake of her head as he tucked her hand through his arm and led her out of the gallery.

“Oh, I love it. It’s fun for me to come up with things that I hope will make you smile, that will make your face and those pretty brown eyes of yours light up. I don’t try to outdo myself; I just like having fun, and I really love having fun with you.” He stopped at the sidewalk beside a black stretched limousine. The chauffeur waiting near it reached out and opened the door for them.

It was the first time he had picked her up in a limousine. She suspected, as she gasped in surprise, that it would not be the last time that he did it. They got in together, and she laughed softly as she looked all around the inside of it.

He chuckled and watched her. “You look as if you’ve never been inside of a limousine before,” he said softly.

She shrugged. “I haven’t been inside a limousine before.”

Lucas looked at her in amazement. “You haven’t? This is your first time in a limo? Really?” He looked as if he could barely wrap his mind around the concept.

Savannah nodded and smiled at him. “This is it.”

He gazed at her and then bit his lower lip for a minute. “Well, if this is your first time in a limo, I better make it a good one. Come here,” he said, his voice growing husky. He reached for her where she was sitting across from him and pulled her onto his lap so that she was straddling his lap.

She looked at him in surprise. “Shouldn’t I be wearing a seatbelt right now?” she asked in a half-serious tone as he lifted his hands to her face and brought her lips to his.

“You shouldn’t be wearing anything right now, and neither should I,” he mumbled softly against her lips as he kissed them tenderly.

Everything inside of her began to turn and swirl as it always did when he kissed her, when he touched her, when he made her feel like there wasn’t anyone in the world but her. Their kisses deepened, and heat began to build as her body started to ache for him. Her breath grew short and shallow, and the sense of need between them grew urgent.

Lucas slid his hands up her thighs. Pushing her skirt up and feeling the edge of her stockings, he opened his eyes and looked at her with a start. She laughed at him softly.

“You’re not the only one who loves giving surprises,” she breathed in a velvet voice. “Those are thigh high stockings…” she told him as she kissed him.

He groaned and pulled her closer over his groin, bringing his hands up to her hips, and again he stopped and stared at her. “Where are your…” he trailed off.

“I’m not wearing any panties.” She laughed quietly as she combed her fingers through his hair and kissed his mouth. “I knew that I was going to be seeing you, and I wanted to be ready for… anything.” She smiled at him.

He responded by loosening his own clothes and unbuttoning the front her sweater, kissing every bit of her chocolate flesh that he could see. Moments later, her bra and her sweater were laying on the seat behind her, and her breasts were engulfed by his hungry mouth as he sucked and bit at her. She moaned as he shifted his pelvis beneath her and brought her down on top of his erection, pushing it up into her slowly and filling her body with it.

They began to rock against one another slowly, sliding back and forth as they held fast to one another, kissing and losing their breath. Her fingers knotted in his hair, and his closed tight over her hips, pulling her over him completely.

“Nothing feels as good as being inside of you,” he managed to whisper to her as they moved together. “I just can’t get enough of you. I don’t ever want to get enough of you.” He thrust himself into her body deeper and faster, her heat growing hotter and wetter as their urgency drove them further.

He grabbed her by the back of her head then and brought her mouth to his, kissing her hard as he held her fast to his groin, coming hot and deep in her, making her cry out with her own orgasm. She held onto him tightly as everything in her became a dizzying vortex, and finally her body began to slow, and she leaned her head against his shoulder. They caught their breath, sharing soft sweet kisses before she moved off of him.

“So, that’s riding in a limo?” she asked him with a teasing smile as she redressed and sat beside him, curled under his arm.

He smiled at her with a naughty look in his eyes and touched his fingertip to her lips and then dropped his hand to her breast, giving it a gentle rub to make her nipple hard. “That’s riding in my limo.” He shook his head as he gazed at her.

“You amaze me. Everything about you amazes me. You have the biggest heart, you’re so creative and brilliant, you’re funny and sweet, and you’re hot as hell. You’re all I think about anymore, did you know that? I can’t seem to focus on anything but you, and I don’t want to. You’re all I want in my thoughts, and in my arms,” he kissed her tenderly, “and in my bed.”

She laughed softly. “Ditto, all of that. You’re so generous and thoughtful, you’re sweet and romantic, and you’re such a good friend and an amazing lover. I’m so lucky.”

“I’m the lucky one,” he said quietly, looking at her with a serious expression in his eyes.

They rode on for a while longer until they finally came to a small town. She looked out of the windows and took in the little shops up and down the main street, the little town square, and the park. They crossed a bridge, and the limousine pulled up to a beautiful two-story Victorian home with a perfectly manicured garden and a white picket fence all around it.

“What is this?” she asked as they got out.

He took her hand in his, weaving her fingers into his. “This is a bed and breakfast. I thought we’d take it easy and relax this weekend.” The driver got their bags for them, and they walked along the sidewalk up to the front porch. It was a wide porch which wrapped around the house. There were rocking chairs sitting in places along the space and a big wooden swing hanging at the corner of the porch, overlooking the river and the bridge that went over it.

“This is so perfect!” she told him with a smile as they went inside.

The front door was big and wooden, inlaid with crystal and stained glass. It opened into a well-appointed parlor and sitting room. There was a rolltop desk in the foyer where an older woman was waiting to check them in.

She told them that all of their meals were included and that they’d be provided in the dining room or out on the patio in the garden behind the house near the water, if they liked. She gave them their key, and they followed her on a quick tour of the big old house as she showed off all of the updates and renovations that had been done.

She took them at last to their room, which was upstairs on the second level. They had the master suite, and Savannah was thrilled when she found out that Lucas had rented the entire place for them for the weekend. There would be no one else around, and they would have all the privacy they wanted.

When their host told them she’d be serving dinner after they got settled in, she left them alone, and both Lucas and Savannah laughed and embraced each other, holding one another tightly as they kissed and indulged in the moment.

“I get you all to myself, all weekend, in this beautiful home, in this sweet little town?” she asked in wonder as she looked up at him happily.

He nodded. “You do, but don’t forget, I get you, too. I am going to keep you pretty busy in the sheets on this enormous bed,” he kissed her and ran his hands over her curves, “and in the shower, and in a few other places, wherever I can when anyone isn’t looking.”

She laughed at him, and he kissed her softly. “Thank you,” she told him seriously. “More than I can say, thank you. You are so good to me.”

“You’re welcome. I do try, but this is for both of us. All that I’ve done is for both of us. If you’re happy, then I’m happy, and everything is perfect. Right?” He gave her a nod and a smile. She agreed.

They unpacked their bags, and a short while later, they enjoyed their dinner in the dining room. It was set in a romantic style with candles, flowers, fine china, and crystal. There was a bottle of wine for them, and one of the best meals they’d ever enjoyed.

When they had eaten, they left the house and walked along a path beside the river, holding hands and watching the sunset. She soaked in a deep, hot, bubble bath in the massive, old, claw foot bathtub in their master bathroom. When she got out of the bathtub, she put a silky, red negligee on and went into the bedroom.

Lucas was laying on the bed, reading a book. He looked up and saw her standing there, her long black hair falling around her shoulders and arms and her body sculpted in red silk. He set the book down without taking his eyes off of her.

“Come here,” he told her in a low voice. She walked to him, and he pulled her onto the bed with him, running his hands over the material and her skin as if she was the finest automobile in the world. Their lips met, their tongues trailed over nearly every inch of each other, and they took their time teasing and tantalizing one another until the evening culminated in their lovemaking and epic release with one another.

She fell asleep in his arms into the wee hours of the morning, and her dreams were sweet and beautiful, but Lucas did not fall asleep right away. He lay in the bed and watched her sleep, touching her hair, her cheek, and her lips before holding her hand in his. His thoughts had gone far beyond the physical closeness that they shared with one another.

Savannah awoke to bright morning sunlight streaming in through the window, washing over their bed and both of them. She looked over at Lucas and saw that he was already awake, and he was watching her. His cheeks were a little dark with the morning’s stubble, and he looked even better to her than he usually did.

“Good morning,” she said in a soft voice, leaning close to kiss him. “Have you been up long?”

He reached his hand up to stroke her cheek again. “No, I slept for a while and woke up just a little bit before you did.”

“This is such an incredible place. I’m so glad we’re here. Thank you for giving us this time together here.” She grinned and wrapped her arms around him.

He was thoughtful and quiet for a few moments and then spoke as he watched her eyes.

“I need you, now,” he said with a growing smile. She laughed and raised her brows.

“Right now? We just woke up!”

“Right now,” he answered, pulling her on top of him and kissing her as he pushed the sheets away from her.

They made love for a long, sweet while and then showered together, making love in the hot steam and water before they got out and got dressed. Breakfast was a big deal, and they were spoiled with wonderful foods, juices, and coffees.

When their meal was done, he took her by the hand, and they walked from the bed and breakfast over the bridge and into town to look at the markets and shops. He bought her the things that she liked: lavender lotion and oil, a beautiful scarf, and a book. They met several of the locals and were even invited to have coffee with a few of them at the local café when they went in to see it.

Lucas and Savannah made it back to the house in time for dinner, and when dinner was finished, they watched a movie in the study and then went to bed. They loved one another twice before they finally fell asleep in each other’s arms.

Savannah was nestled in his arms when she awoke and found him watching her again with a smile on his face. She tilted her head back in the crook of his arm and gave him a smile in return. “What are you doing?” she asked quietly.

He kissed her forehead and touched her lips with his fingertip. “I’m thinking about things. A lot of things. I spent most of this weekend thinking about something in particular, actually.”

“Yeah? What’s that?” she asked curiously.

He took a moment to answer her. “There’s a charity function happening next Saturday. My family are all going to go. I want you to come with me. I want to introduce you to my family.” He said it with certainty, and she felt surprise shoot through every part of her.

“You… you want to introduce me to your family? You’re sure?” Her breath caught at the approach of a big step in their relationship.

“Yes, I’m completely sure,” he answered with a widening smile.

“This isn’t too soon?” she asked, not fully certain that he might have thought it all through. She didn’t want to move too fast with him and lose him in the process.

He shook his head and took her hand in his, bringing her fingers to his mouth and kissing them. “Is it? I’m falling so fast for you. I just can’t stop thinking about you; you’re consuming me, and all I want is more. I want to introduce you to my family. I want to show you who I am. I want them to know who you are.”

Savannah knew then that he had given it a good deal of thought and that he was ready for it. She considered it for a moment, and she knew deep down that she was ready for it, too. “Okay. I’ll go. I want to meet all of them, too.” She swallowed the nervousness that began to well up in her.

“What kind of a charity function is it? What’s the event?” she asked, her heart beginning to beat faster.

“It’s a polo tournament and garden party,” he answered her with a bit of hesitation. “I think you’ll have a good time. Have you ever been to anything like that?”

She shook her head. “No. I’ve never been to anything like that.”

Lucas nodded. “Okay, well, you’re going to need to dress up for it. Something nice: a dress and heels, and a hat… like a sunhat. Other than that, I’ll take care of the rest, and I’ll make sure that you feel comfortable and that you have a good time.” The corners of his mouth turned up, and he kissed her softly.

She knew that it was important to him. “I can’t wait to go. I know it’ll be wonderful.”  She wasn’t certain of it, but she did believe that if she was with him, it would be fun. “I’m looking forward to it.”

“Good!” he grinned. “So am I.” He kissed her again and pulled her into his arms to make love with her again.
