CHAPTER TEN

SILVIA

He makes me feel loved. I no longer have any doubts about having a relationship with Jax. He went to a lot of trouble to make sure our first time was special and I must say, I’m more than pleased. I look at his face, and I see the loneliness. I recognize it because I have the same affliction. We’re both trained to put up a facade for the benefit of our work and public lives, even our families. It’s nothing but a mask, a charade, merely an illusion to prevent others from seeing what we conceal inside. But deep down, I know he has the same longing for love and companionship I do. Being here with him, naked in his bed, and in his arms, somehow feels right. It’s hard to explain, but when you know something or someone is right for you, nothing makes you happier. And you’ll never be satisfied with anything less.

“Beautiful, are you enjoying your thoughts?” Jax asks, smiling as he pours another glass of champagne.

“I’m sorry, baby. I…appreciate all this, and everything you did for me.”

He moves closer, shoving several trays of leftover food out of the way.

“You deserve more than I could ever give, but I want more of you, baby. I’m afraid you may be my new addiction.”

“Oh well, that may not be a bad thing, as long as you make me scream like you did earlier.”

“I’m ready to try, but you know I’m merely a mortal man. How can I ever live up to the expectations of a heavenly creature like you, my earthly angel, the one I’ve searched for my entire life?”

Jax is never at a loss for the right thing to say. He’s a silver-tongue devil and can brighten my day with nothing but a smile and a few simple words. At first, I thought he was just trying to impress me, but as the weeks have gone by, I see that he truly feels this way about me.

I stand and walk over to his oversized king bed. I’ve always slept in nothing but the finest and most expensive beds but for some reason, his feels much better.

I climb on top of the mattress, then position myself on all fours with my naked ass in the air facing Jax. I glance over my shoulder and see him moving toward me, like a lion stalking his prey.

“I want you, Jax,” I whisper.

He climbs onto the bed behind me, and places his hands on my hips, then pulls me back against him. My body is on fire and the only thing that can extinguish the flame is him. He runs his hands down my back and around to my breasts, my nipples hardening with desire. I feel my juices running down the inside of my thighs. I need this man to make love to me, now and forever. I never want him to stop.

“You know that I could never share you., baby. Do you understand what I’m saying? I never want another man to touch your body, to touch what is mine. Tell me you won’t allow it. Promise me.” he whispers, leaning over my back. He positions himself at my entrance and I push back, eager for him to be inside me. I know I should let him lead, at least that’s what I’ve been told - that alpha males need control. But I can’t stop myself.

“Answer me, baby. Tell me you understand.”

“I understand, my love. And I promise, my body belongs to you, and only you.” Once the words leave my mouth, he slams into me, forcing the air from my lungs.

“Yes!” I cry, my voice raspy from my screams.

I feel his lips on my back as he slowly rocks back and forth inside me. My body arches, raising my ass higher and changing the angle of his thrusts. He slides in and out, slowly, gently, and deliberately, while I beg him to move faster and harder. He controls every movement, every nuance, every breath.

He grips my hips tightly, then moves his hands to my waist, lifting my body up and back against his chest. He places one hand on my breast and cups my mound with the other.

“Mine,” he growls, then begins circling my clit with his index finger. It’s an attack on my senses, a battle against my will, and Jax is determined to be the victor. I feel my orgasm rushing toward me, like a runaway locomotive that can’t be stopped. But who am I kidding? I don’t want it to stop. I’m completely at his mercy and like a shameless hussy, I beg for more.

“Please, baby, give it to me. I need it so bad,” I beg.

“I am, baby,”

“Please, Jax. Don’t make me wait.”

“You’re so beautiful. Absolutely beautiful. I want you to come for me, baby. Come now,” he groans.

He taps my clit several times then pinches it slightly between his thumb and forefinger, and oh god, I explode. My body starts to shake and my vision blurs, and when I close my eyes, stars dance behind my eyelids. I feel my muscles spasm and contract around his cock. I scream and feel him pulse inside me. I hear Jax groan and shout my name as he empties himself inside me.

My body collapses on the bed and Jax follows behind me. We’re both breathing heavily and I can still feel the contractions inside me as my body trembles. Jax rolls off me, then leans down and kisses my behind.

“I can kiss this ass all day. It’s my ass and one day, I’ll have it as well.”

I laugh, but I think he might be serious. He lays down beside me and kisses my lips softly, then drapes his arm across me.

“I can, you know. I could kiss you all day,” he growls

“Jax, I could kiss you all day too, but there’s no rush, we have all weekend.”

“Yes, we do.”

We kiss for a little longer, then decide to eat dessert.  Our night is filled with talking, eating, drinking champagne, and, of course, more sex! I’m not sure when we finally fell asleep, but I remember laughing for hours. I’m glad I took a risk with Jaxson. He’s amazing!

***

The next morning, I awake naked with Jax behind me, his arm wrapped around my waist, holding me tightly. I try to move, but my entire body is sore, reminding me of all the fun Jax and I had the night before. I try to move from under his arm to go to the bathroom, but he grunts and tightens his grip. I look over my shoulder and smile, and although I enjoy the affection, I really have to go.

“Jax, baby, I have to go to the bathroom.”

He moans, “But you feel so good, though. I don’t want you to leave me.”

“I’ll be back. I promise, unless you want some breakfast,” I chuckle.

“Food? Damn, woman, I would love to have you fix some breakfast for me.”

He lifts his arm and I slide out of bed. When I get to the bathroom, I smile to myself. I never thought I could be this happy.

I try to freshen up a little and run a brush through my hair, attempting to tame my unruly locks that look like I spent the night in a wind tunnel, then put on one of the new nightgowns I brought with me.

“I’m going to cook us some eggs,” I say over my shoulder as I pick up my cell and walk out the door. I want to call Roslyn and let her know I’m okay.

“Bacon too, please baby. I love bacon.” he grunts as he rolls over in bed.

When I get to the kitchen I look in the refrigerator and find the eggs, bacon, and a few other things I need to start breakfast. I send a quick text to Roslyn and she’s texting me back, asking all sorts of inappropriate questions like how good he is, how big he is, and if I orgasmed more than once… yada, yada, yada. I text her that I’ll tell her everything later but I’m not discussing it via text.

I start the bacon when my cell rings. My first thought is that Roslyn couldn’t wait and is calling back, but when I look at the display, it’s my baby brother. I debate whether to answer but I know him, he’ll just keep calling

“It’s early, brother,” I answer.

“My sister has been in town for weeks and doesn’t even bother to contact me. Why is that Silvy?”

“I’m sorry. You know I have that big Lupus event coming up next week and I’ve met someone.”

“Who? And why is this the first I’m hearing of it?”

“His name is Jaxson and he’s amazing!” I exclaim, emphasizing the word amazing. I can’t help but smile.

“Jaxson who? His last name, please?”

“I’m the oldest sister and yet, you still feel the need to protect me.”

“I will always protect you. We’re family. Name Silvy.”

“Gosh, Lennox. Don’t be so bossy. It’s Montgomery and he’s a really nice guy.”

There’s a long pause on the phone. At first, I think we’ve been disconnected. I’m about to hang up when Lennox speaks.

“I want you to stay away from him, Silvy.”

“Why? Do you know him?”

“I’ve never met him but yes, I do know him and he knows me.”

“I have to go, Lennox. I’ll talk to you later.”

My heart drops. If my brother knows him and Jax knows my brother, then he also knew me. He lied. Oh god. I feel like I can’t breathe. I turn off the stove and sit down at the table, unable to move. There must be a reasonable explanation. Jaxson would never deceive me. There’s not a devious bone in his body. He would never hurt me, would he?

As I’m trying to put the pieces together in my mind, Jaxson walks into the kitchen. Everything that happened last night plays through my head. I’m such a fool. A stupid, stupid fool.

“Silvy, are you ok?”

I stand and try to walk past him, but he grabs my arm and stops me. I look into his eyes and all I see now is a liar. A dirty, rotten, low-down liar.

“Get your hands off me, Jaxson.” I snap, pulling away.

“What happened? You’re looking at me like you want me dead.”

I look at him, the man I gave myself to completely, the man I made passionate love with last night, and desperately want to believe he wouldn’t do this to me. But my brother has no reason to lie to me. The best way to deal with this is ask.

“Do you know who I am?” I glare at him.

“What are you talking about, baby? Yes, I know you, and you know me.”

“Bullshit, Jaxson. I just spoke with my brother and he says you know him and he knows you.”

The expression on his face changes immediately. He walks across the kitchen and sits down at the table.

“Silvy, what did he say?”

“Never mind that. You fucking tell me the truth right now. Or so help me god, you’ll find out how good I really am at defending myself.”

“I’ve never met your brother. I’ve only heard the name.”

“So, are you telling me that you and my brother have never even spoken?”

He waves me over to the table, but I’m too angry to sit. I need answers and I need them now.

“We have never spoken, but the business I do sometimes connects me to certain people, people I’d rather not deal with. I’m a fixer, Sylvia. I solve problems for people.”

I step back and pray he’s not an assassin.

“Are you a contract killer?”

“Silvy, no, I’m not. I’ve never murdered anyone, but I do have ways of dealing with problems.”

“You’re being deliberately vague and I think I should go.”

“Please, don’t do this, baby. I feel something for you.”

“I was wrong about you, Jaxson. I thought you were sweet and kind, but you’re not a good man, Jaxson Montgomery. You’re a very devious man. I don’t know why you lied to me, but I don’t care anymore. Lose my number and never come near me again.”

I look at him and with tears in my eyes, I go gather my things. I’ll call Simi after I get out of this apartment. I dress quickly and grab my bag and head for the door.  Jaxson is waiting for me.

“You’re really going to end what we have, like this?” he asks desperately.

“I didn’t end it Jaxson, you did.”

I push past him and walk away, away from all the joy and love I feel for this man. As much as I want to stay with him, I know I can’t. He’s a part of the world I worked so hard to leave. I need time to think, time to grieve, time to heal, and hopefully one day I’ll be able to understand why he did this to me. I will never trust another man. And I will never forgive Jaxson Montgomery.
