The Greek Playboy's Girl (Falling For A Womaniser Book 2) by Cheryl F.M. (16)

Damien Doukas’ POV

“So where are we going?” Adrianna asked curiously as I pushed Trevor’s stroller.

I grinned down at her. “Since it is almost six, we can go for dinner.” I knew one restaurant that was just right for our first date. It was a classy restaurant that had a live jazz band playing. I had gone there once and enjoyed it.

When we reached the restaurant, Adrianna was delighted and shocked. “How did you know I liked jazz restaurants?”

She did? I smirked at her. “I have my sources.”

“You mean Olivia. She told you, didn’t she?” Adrianna asked with a smile on her face.

I blinked and said sheepishly, “Actually, no. It is a lucky guess.” Adrianna raised an eyebrow and looked at me skeptically.

“Really, I promise! I did not do any digging from Olivia,” I said with a grin, and the waiter led us to our seats.

I watched as Adrianna lifted Trevor from his stroller and gently placed him on his baby chair. Trevor made a face as he looked around the unknown environment.

“Oh, how cute are you? You have a very adorable son.” The waitress gushed before giving Trevor an adoring smile. Trevor still grumpy from being woken up early, frowned and pouted.

“Oh, he’s not our son,” Adrianna corrected with a blush, and I gave her a smirk.

“He’s our godchild. But he’s here because we’re practicing on how it will be like to have our own baby,” I said with a charming grin, and the waitress made an “aww” sound.

“Wha—?” Adrianna started, and I interrupted.

“We have been thinking about having a baby. So here we are, taking our friend’s son for dinner to try to experience how it is like to have a baby.”

The waitress gushed and smiled at us. “That is so sweet. How long have you two been together?”

“Well, actually—”

“Three years,” I answered, and Adrianna gaped at me, a blush rising in her cheeks.

“Wow. That’s amazing. Both of you seem very happily married. Now, may I take your order?”

After giving our orders and when the waitress left, Adrianna turned to me with her eyebrows raised, “Baby? Married? Three years?” she questioned as she blushed furiously.

I shrugged and gave her a grin. “Yes? You do not think it will happen?”

Adrianna’s eyes rounded. “W-what?”

“Damien Darling? Is that you?” A very familiar female voice called, out, and I swore under my breath.

“Mother, what are you doing here?” I said annoyed as my mother came towards me.

My mom looked at Adrianna before looking at me, and a big grin came onto her face. “Are both of you on a date?”

Adrianna flushed, and I rolled my eyes, “Yes, which you are interrupting.”

“Hello, Laura,” Adrianna said with a blush.

My mother choked and gasped. “Oh, this is a dream come true!” She hurriedly grabbed a seat beside me and looked at us. “Are both of you officially dating?”

Adrianna blushed. “Yes.”

My mother gasped and teared up. “I never thought this would happen! Oh, welcome again to the family, my darling!”

Adrianna smiled. “Thank you, Laura.”

“So, tell me. When did both of you get together? Have you both moved in together? Are you going to get married this year?” My mother fired off the questions, and I groaned. This was most probably what Drake went through last year.

Adrianna’s eyes widened, and she looked towards me for help. “Mother.” I groaned.

My mother rolled her eyes at me before shooting me a pointed look. “Damien. I am your mother. I am fifty-three. And I do not even have any grandchildren from you! Drake has given me one, and you have not. Right, Trevor darling?”

Trevor in response laughed. I scowled at him. He was not helping me at all in this situation. Adrianna stifled a laugh while I made a face. But my irritation faded as soon as she looked at me.

“So? Where are my answers?”

Adrianna smiled and answered, “Laura, Damien and I only got together yesterday so moving in, kids and marriage is a bit too soon.”

My mother raised and eyebrow before sighing disappointedly, and a sly glint entered her eyes. “Hmmm, yesterday you said? Does that mean both of you have had sex together? I know my son’s reputations.”

Adrianna blushed furiously, and I groaned as I slapped my palm to my forehead. “Mother, please, for God’s sake!”

“By both of your reactions, that should be a yes. Good, my other grandchildren will be arriving,” my mother said excitedly, and she beamed. Adrianna flushed even harder, and I was thankful when the food arrived. Hell, I didn’t even know when my mother ordered her food!

This was not how I envisioned my first date with Adrianna to be. I thought irritated. It was supposed to be an intimate meal between Adrianna and me, not with my godson or with my mother, no matter how much I loved them. I groaned inwardly. This date with Adrianna was to prove to her that I still could be someone she considered being together with.

We would have an intimate dinner with no disturbances. We would get to know each other more, a little dancing on the dance floor as the Jazz band played. We would slowly sway to the music, her head resting on my shoulder, my arms around her waist and hers around my neck. After, we’ll drive back to my place where we would sleep together, not as in sex but literally sleeping. She would cuddle up to me, and I would hug her against my body tightly. As I was sincerely serious about dating Adrianna. I had promised myself that I would not be sleeping with her on our first date, no matter how sexy and gorgeous she looked. This relationship between us was more than sex, and I needed to prove that to Adrianna.

Instead, this first date had a Trevor. It wasn’t so bad. He was our godson. But my mother had to come along and asked questions that were a little too soon for our relationship. Heck! It was only our first date and almost twenty-four hours when she agreed to be my girlfriend, and my mother was asking questions like marriage, moving in and kids! If my mother was not careful, she could chase Adrianna away from me. I clenched my jaw and silently ate my steak as my mother continued to chat with Adrianna non-stop.

“If it’s all right with Damien, I would like to come,” Adrianna said.

I was snapped out of my thoughts when my name was mentioned. “What is all right with me, Adrianna mou?”

“Your mother invited me to your family’s annual charity auction in Greece this coming Saturday. Would it be okay if I came along with you?”

“Of course! You’re my girlfriend. In fact, I was planning on asking you if you wanted to come. The event would be much more fun with you there, agape mou,” I said with a grin on my face. Adrianna smiled in response, and as usual, my mother butted in with an “Awww.”

“Both of you are so sweet together. All right then, I would pass the details about the event to Damien, and he can pass them to you.” My mother beamed happily, and we continued to eat.

***

“Well, that was not as bad as it seems, is it?” Adrianna asked as she held my hand as we strolled down the street.

“Yes,” I grumbled. “My mother ruined our first date together. How much worse could it get?”

Adrianna smiled and laughed. “At least, it was memorable. It was not as bad as you imagined. Besides, we could always go on a date where it is just you and me.”

I perked up. “Really?” Adrianna still wanted to go out with me?

Adrianna nodded and grinned. “Really.”

We finally reached Drake’s home, and after passing Trevor to Olivia, we headed to Adrianna’s room. “It really was a nice date. Thank you for bringing me to that lovely restaurant.” Adrianna smiled up at me. She leaned up and pressed her lips firmly against mine. Her hands cradled my face as her lips moved against mine. My hands rested themselves on her hips, and she pulled away before giving me a sly grin.

“When you are done staring at me, you could always go and change before joining me in bed tonight.” She slipped out of my embrace before shutting the door in my face.

A slow grin crossed my face as I hurriedly got out of my clothes and into a pair of boxers and headed into Adrianna’s room. Perhaps, our first date was not too bad after all.
