The Xmas Ride: A Christmas Biker Romance by Xander Hades (16)

Chapter Four

Jake

I got to the club just in time. I hated being late, but after the day I had just experienced I was surprised I made it. I had just dropped Dana off at her house and went home to get my bike. I couldn’t wait until I could take Dana for a ride in the hills. The feel of her holding onto me would be epic, I knew. I knew it because everything else we did together was epic. I was smiling when I strolled into the clubhouse, but I stopped in surprise. Several tables were turned over, chairs were broken and I was pretty sure at least three people were passed out on the floor in the corner.

“I thought the party was at Flatteries Ranch last night,” I said to no one. I heard a groan and turned towards the bar. Crazy Mary and Little Lisa stood up from behind it, straightening their clothes.

“It was until we got kicked out,” Little Lisa said. “I guess starting a bonfire in the barn wasn’t a clever idea.” She was a plump, but sexy woman about five feet with jet-black hair. Her t-shirt barely fit, as usual, and Crazy was only wearing what looked like a mini-dress of leather. Both looked drunk.

“In the barn. Shit, did it burn down?”

Little waved her hand and lifted her other one with a cup of coffee. “Naw, we put it out. Flattery wanted us gone, though. With all the hay in the barn, I am not surprised,” she said.

Crazy snorted.“Party pooper. We was having fun,” she said and reached over to tweak Little Lisa’s large breast. Lisa giggled and swatted the woman’s hands away.

“And we had fun, too. Go ahead and do what ya gotta, Jake. The others will wake up while you are and move on. You know how it is.”

I smiled. I did indeed. I had passed out a few times in the club so I couldn’t complain. I went back to the kitchen and that room wasn’t too trashed so I got more coffee going and then got out the cleaning supplies. It wasn’t normally my job. I was pretty sure, though, that one of the passed-out figures was the guy whose job it was. I figured what the hell, I had nothing else to do today. Dana had a barbecue with her brother so I was left to my own devices. I knew she would not be far from my thoughts, though. I wiped down the bar and set up the coffee I knew everyone would need. Then one of the men in the corner got up, frowning and looking around. Little and Crazy were nowhere to be seen at that point. It was Tom who walked towards the bar. He was still wasted. Jeeze, what did they do last night?

“Where is Kelly?” He demanded angrily.

“Where’s who?” I asked, coming around the bar.

“Kelly, the chick I came in with. She wouldn’t’ have dumped me so whatja do to her?” He yelled in my face, grabbing my shirt. I heard others waking in the corner but didn’t care. No one grabs me like that.

“She ain’t here, dumb ass,” I said. “You have three seconds to let go.”

He snarled. “Oh yeah? Or—” That was as far as he got when I head-butted him and he fell to the floor.

“I meant one second, dumb ass, now calm down.” But another one grabbed me from behind, his breath’s stink enough to kill a steer at Flatteries Ranch. I lifted a foot and brought it down on the arch of the guy’s left foot. He cried out as I heard a snap of bone. I spun, seeing another guy rushing towards me. I picked up a chair but before I could use it, we both stopped when somebody shouted, “What the fuck is going on here?”

It was the Hammer.

“I was just cleaning up, Billy,” I said. “Then these bozos woke up and Tom claimed I took his girl and they attacked.” Billy the Hammer walked in quietly as the others babbled about how that wasn’t true. Except Tom who was cradling his bloody nose and not bothering to speak. Hammer leaned over him and checked out his nose and then looked at David’s foot. Then he turned to me.

“A broken nose and a broken foot, yet not a scratch on ya. You are wasted as a caretaker here, man,” Hammer said. I smiled slightly.

“Naw, I like the hours,” I said. He chuckled before turning back to the two men on the floor.

“Hey, Tom,” Hammer yelled in the guy’s ear, making him gasp and hold his head. “That Kelly chick left after you passed out the second time. Jake had nothing to do with her. You guys get yourselves home and sleep this off. We’ll talk later. I meant now.” All three jumped up and staggered out the door. “I hope none of them drove,” Hammer muttered. “So where were you last night? It was quite the shindig.”

“I was checking out a personal prospect,” I said with a grin. He smiled, too.

“Nice, will she do?” For Hammer it was all about the club. I understood that about him and appreciated it. Even if it was occasionally uncomfortable.

“Don’t know yet. I gotta make sure before I bring anyone around this lot, you know,” I said and he laughed and nodded.

“Good thinking. Looks like you were cleaning up.”

“Yeah, I got the time. I wasn’t having that good a time last night,” I said and got another laugh.

“You’re a good man, Jake. I’ll help ya out in a minute. I wanna check the spare rooms for other casualties.” He moved off towards the stairs. I got the broom as I heard him walk down the upstairs hall. I heard two shrieks and realized where Crazy and Little had gone.

“Goddamn it, Crazy. In the bathroom, really?” I heard Hammer yell. I chuckled as I swept up. Soon I was whistling, wondering what Dana would say about this place.

I spent the day at the clubhouse as more people came in looking hung over. They got their coffee and by lunch the place was full. The Flaming Dragons always used Sundays as a day of rest together for fellowship. I enjoyed the day eating and hearing stories about the previous night. It had been for sure an amazing shindig at the ranch. After dinner, I said my goodbyes and made my way home. I secured my rolling iron and covered it before going into my trailer. I got a beer and went outside to the porch with my phone. I lit a cigar and then my phone rang right on schedule. Dana was punctual.

“Hey, baby,” I said.

“Hey, sexy man. How are you doin?”

I smiled and felt a tingle. Even over the phone her voice got to me.

“I am excellent. Even better now that you called. Did you have a good day?”

“Well, it was good. My friend Ruth came by and we caught up. We haven’t had a chance at that in years. Then Mitch came over and we cooked up some burgers and dogs. It was fun.” Then her voice got a touch quieter. “I missed you, though, Jake.”

“I missed you too, darlin’. I sure had a fun Saturday with you.”

“Oh, baby, that was amazing. Every bit of it. The news says we may have a few more weeks of sunny weather before fall really hits. Maybe we could do it again. I’m already thinking of it as our spot,” she said shyly. My heart did a flip. So that was what it was like, I thought.

“I would love to go back, anytime,” I said. “I will probably be dreaming about it tonight. So, did you get the scoop on the fire rescue?”

She laughed and told me the tale. Apparently, a woman, now thought of as Doctor Quinn Medicine Woman, had gone to the fire station to look after an injured deer, despite the risks. Her old man, the VP of Wild Wolves, went after her with his Road Warrior. It turned out to be more dangerous than they thought and barely made it back.

“Crazy was right. That shit was bad ass. I am glad everyone came out of it. Rivals or not, that was well done,” I said.

“I know, right? I am glad Mitch didn’t have to go,” she said. “I know it can be dangerous, but I worry about him sometimes.” I could imagine her lying on the couch with her feet up, twirling her hair as we talked.

“Well, you’re his little sister. It is your job to worry. But he sounds tough enough to take care of himself, so I wouldn’t worry too much.”

“I know and I do try. Anyway, Mitch went back to the club. He had some stuff to take care of tonight and tomorrow so I am here all alone,” she said. There was a lilt to her voice. Was that an invitation, I wondered and grinned, knowing the answer.

“Hmm, might you need a big strong man to look over you?”

She giggled. “Naw, I can protect myself. I might need help going to sleep, though. I have a lot of energy that might keep me up unless I find something to do. Whatever could I do?”

I laughed. “I might have a few ideas. We would have to work out the positions, though,” I said in a lowered voice. She giggled again.

“I’ll work anything out with you, Jake,” she said and her voice was like the purr of a cat and it made me shiver in anticipation.

“I can be there in half an hour, Dana. You can start counting the minutes,” I said.

“Give me an extra fifteen on that and I will be here with bells on.”

After we hung up, I cleaned up and changed my clothes. I was at her doorstep in no time. A note on her door said come on in and so I did. I walked into the living room and froze. She was wearing a red silk teddy and stockings, and all her incredible curves were in all the right places. My heart almost stopped in amazement and from the sudden surge of lust.

“Damn, you could have warned me,” I muttered. She got up from and coquettishly walked towards me. I picked her up and kissed her urgently. Her legs wrapped around my waist and the fun began, her wild moans filling the rest of the night.
