CHAPTER TWELVE

KINSLEY

I stand at the bar, watching Heath pour a cup of coffee into a travel mug. My eyes are bleary and my brain is foggy as hell. To be quite honest, I’m exhausted. I’m going on day two of no sleep, thanks to Heath’s voracious sexual appetite.

I shouldn’t complain, before him I’d gone through a nine-month dry spell. Maybe he did as well, and we’re just catching up. I can’t wait for Saturday so that I can catch up on my sleep though.

Heath rounds the bar and crowds my space. His strong hand wrapping around the side of my neck while his thumb presses beneath my jaw and forces my head back. His golden flecked eyes stare down at me, and the warmth there is beyond anything I’ve ever experienced before.

He lowers his head and his soft lips graze my own. “Be home on time tonight, we’ll watch a movie,” he rasps.

I nod, my eyes sliding closed as his tongue tastes my lips, then slowly he fills my mouth. His tongue’s stroke is lazy, and languid as he consumes me. A moan rumbles throughout his entire body, as one of his hands wraps around my ass, squeezing me above the material of my dress.

“You better go to work, Sugar,” he groans, as he breaks the kiss. “I want you again.”

I blink, lifting my tired eyes up to him. “We just had sex like… an hour ago,” I balk.

Heath grins, looking cocky as shit, before he winks. “What can I say. I’m fucking addicted to your body.”

My own lips twitch and quickly turn up into a smile. His thumb moves, running along my bottom lip as his eyes stare into my own. I wish that I could stay here. His talk about me leaving my job, and being solely his, is becoming more appealing by the minute.

“Go to work, Sugar,” he breathes.

I nod, pressing my lips to his in a chaste kiss. It literally takes everything inside of me to grab my keys, and my purse, and leave the house. I have to go back to my old place, where my car is parked and walk into the empty house, before I go into the garage.

Looking around the empty space I shake my head. I can’t believe that I lived here less than two weeks. I can’t believe that I left here to move in with my neighbor. A man who is a virtual stranger, and yet when I’m in the same room with him, I feel like we’ve known one another for years.

He makes me feel comfortable in my own skin, and gorgeous. I’ve never felt beautiful or sexy before, but this man, he makes me feel like the most desirable woman on earth. Leaving the house, I place the key on the kitchen island and make my way into the garage.

I won’t be coming back here, this was never my home, it was just a steppingstone to where I was meant to be, with Heath Mitchell.

Opening my driver’s side door, I slip into my car, clicking the garage door opener and starting the engine.

The drive to work is quicker than I anticipated, mainly because I’m lost in a dream, sipping my delicious coffee. My body is so sore, sated, and yet I still feel on edge. My skin is so sensitive that the slightest wind turns me on. I honestly don’t know how I’m going to make it through the entire workday without his touch.

HEATH

My phone rings and I groan. I know exactly who it is on the other line just by the ringtone alone, never mind they call me every week this same day, this same time. “Hello,” I say after swiping my thumb on the screen to answer the call.

“Son,” my father’s voice booms.

My father and I haven’t always seen eye to eye. He doesn’t understand my lifestyle, doesn’t see why I don’t like to socialize, or venture out of my house. He’s critical about that aspect of the way I live. I don’t blame him though. I’m definitely not like normal people.

Clearing my throat, “Dad.” I expect to hear my mom speak next, but she doesn’t.

“I called because I’d like to have you come to the house next weekend,” his words cause my body to jerk slightly. I frown. I haven’t left the house in longer than I’d care to admit, and they know this, which is why they usually come here for a visit. “We’re worried about you, son.”

I chuckle at his words and can almost hear his displeasure through the phone. “I’m good, dad. I actually was going to invite you here next weekend. I met a woman, I’d like you and mom to meet her.”

There’s silence for a beat too long, and I open my mouth to ask him if he’s still on the line when he finally speaks. “A woman? Who and where?” he asks, disbelief obvious in his tone.

I shake my head, a smile on my face. “She was my neighbor, moved in a while ago and we hit it off,” I semi-lie.

“We’ll be there, what time?”

My father’s quick response, tells me that both he and my mom were worried that I wouldn’t meet anyone, or that something was wrong with me and they had probably staged a mini-intervention for next weekend. I’m glad I dodged that bullet, odds are it would have ended up in a huge fucking fight.

“Saturday, six o’clock. We’ll do dinner and drinks,” I offer.

My father clears his throat. “Okay, son,” his voice almost shakes. My father doesn’t do emotion, but it seems like he was truly worried, because he seems choked up right now. “Tell me a little about her so your mother won’t freak out as much,” he chuckles.

“She’s twenty-eight, works for an attorney in town. She just moved here, so she doesn’t really know anyone yet. She’s got a killer fuckin’ body,” I smirk, thinking about her laid out for me last night, the way I made her touch herself and then the way I fucked her face until she came at the same time I filled her mouth with my own release. “Black hair, and dark brown eyes. A complete knockout dad.”

My father doesn’t speak immediately, but I know he’s just processing. “I can’t wait to meet her, and your mother is going to be over the top about this, you know that right?”

I laugh. I know she will be. I’ve never brought a woman to meet my parents. I’ve never seriously dated anyone, not since high school anyway. I’ve just fucked girls from bars when I was in college, and when I got older, call girls from reputable agencies. Not normal, probably, but less hassle than finding a one-night stand.

“She’ll love her,” I say.

My dad ends the call and I let out a breath. In less than a week my parents are going to be here, meeting my woman. My future wife. The mother of my children. I just may be as excited as they are.
