Chapter Sixteen

Lizzie

I see that Trinity has made a post and that there has been no reply. So far, we only have heavy rain and wind. If that isn’t bad enough, I’m now really worried about each and every one of the girls. I make a separate post, hoping against all the odds that somehow, someway they are able to make contact.

I post: I know that most of you probably can’t get to a computer, or phone, and that you most likely have a lot going on. Please, when you are able to check in with us and let us know if you are fine and well do so at your earliest convenience. We love you all, and have kept each and every one of you in our hearts and prayers.

I sit and stare at my computer, tapping my fingers on the table awaiting a response. When none comes, I close my eyes and beg the big man above to watch over them and keep them safe. They’ve all become such an important piece and part of my life and I’d like to see the friendships grow that we have all begun. We’ve all decided to hunker down at the clubhouse so we can be with each other. This time, I’m not going to fight anyone on that decision, because I need my mind otherwise occupied. I begin packing up my bag and make sure to bring my tablet, laptop and double-check that my phone is in my purse. I’m not taking any chances on missing a post from anyone. I’m sure I’m no one’s top priority, but I want to be there for everyone if they do need me. Once I’m all packed up I text Justice to find out if he’s coming for me or if I’m driving myself.

Me: Justice, I’m packed up and ready to go. Am I driving myself or are you coming to pick me up?

Justice: Woman, there’s no way in hell you’re driving in these winds. I’ll be there shortly hang tight.

Me: You’re such a pain in my ass.

Justice: But you love me anyways, beautiful.

Me: Stay safe, love you.

Justice: Soon baby, love you back.

I place my bags and purse by the front door and sit on the couch. I have my phone buried in my hands hoping for a notification sound to go off. I watch it, and no tricks occur so I sit back and close my eyes. Now, not only am I worried for my girls, but I’m worried about my man out driving in this nonsense. Mother Nature can go fuck herself, she’s put a lot of those I love at risk and it pisses me off to no end.

“Honey, I’m home!” I hear called out as the front door bangs open. I get up and run to his awaiting arms and jump straight into them. I wrap my legs around his waist and bury my hands in his hair as I bring his mouth to mine. “If this is the way I get greeted when there’s bad weather, I’m gonna have to have a talk with Mother Nature and beg for more like this,” he says.

“I’ll pass on that, babe. I’ve just been worried about you driving in this shit. Plus, all the ladies who are getting hit with the storms. We’ve posted on the site, but so far, no one has responded and that has me worried.”

“Can’t worry about what you can’t control, beautiful,” he says. “Now, let’s get loaded up and outta here.”

“It’s not in me to sit back and not worry. I’ll try to do better, but no promises. I’m very happy to have you home though, what time do we need to leave and meet everyone at the club?”

“They’re all heading that way now, babe, let’s hit the road,” he says, picking up my bags and grabbing my hand. I lock the door with my free one and he all but drags me to his truck. The wind is blowing so hard that my hair is flying in my face and I’m eating it. Not one of the more appetizing things I enjoy, but it lets me know just how bad things can possibly get and we’re nowhere near close to the actual storm itself. The wind is so strong that I can barely stand on my own two feet.

“I got you, babe,” Justice says as he all but carries me the rest of the way.

Once we manage to make it safely inside of the truck I freak out when it begins rocking back and forth. “Justice! What the fuck! I’m scared,” I all but cry out.

“We’re good, babe, I would never put you in danger. Trust me, okay?”

“Okay,” I hiccup out.

“Close your eyes, baby, concentrate on my voice,” I close my eyes and we talk about nothing and everything on the way. He’s been so good to me and I know it has to be wearing on him with all my damn insecurities, but the patience he shows makes me realize that us getting married sight unseen was one of the best things to ever happen to me. I can only hope that one day, I leave my past fully behind me and become as strong as some of the other Ol’ ladies. “We’re here,” he tells me squeezing my hand.

I open my eyes and see that the prospect is fighting the front door to keep it opened up for us. Justice gets out first and pulls me over to his side, once he helps me down we grab my bags and run as best we can for the door. Once we’re inside the damn thing slams shut and I swear I felt my heart jump into my throat. That could’ve hurt one of us if the prospect lost his hold on it. Lucky for me, I didn’t have to pack Justice a bag because he keeps belongings here at the clubhouse, I on the other hand don’t trust the sluts that reside here and fear they’d make themselves at home in my closet. Justice has tried to convince me that they can’t get into his room since it’s locked, but I call bullshit because they’re some sneaky, skanky ass bitches who’d do anything to get their hands on my clothes.

“Justice?” I ask as that thought runs through my head. “Are the...are the club whores going to be here too?”

“Babe, they live here, remember?”

“Fuck! I’m sorry, my mind is scattered right now and I’m not thinking clearly. I know that in my mind, but it’s wishful thinking that they’d all just up and disappear.” He starts laughing at me, because I’m sure he’s heard that same statement on several different occasions from all of us Ol’ ladies. “It’s not funny! They are a waste of space and I can’t stand them, any of them.”

“I know you can’t, Liz. But they serve a purpose for the single guys, y’know? Let’s get your stuff put away and come back out here and join the others.”

“I didn’t realize spreading one’s legs served a purpose in life, but whatever,” I state.

“Enough, Lizzie. They’re not going anywhere and only you get my cock, so it’s not an issue for us.”

“This is true, because I’d cut a bitch if she came near you or your cock,” I say, storming ahead of him down the hall leading to his room. I may be throwing a bit of a temper tantrum, but I don’t think he realizes how much those whores work my nerves, and not just me either. You’d think after the last stunt they pulled, they’d eventually have figured out those women are like fucking leeches sucking the club dry and need to be put out and shared with the rest of the world. My mind is still whirling as we enter his room when he closes and locks the door.

“I see I need to fuck that attitude outta you, woman,” Justice says before he slams his mouth down on mine. Alrighty then. I like his attitude adjustments and punishments, it’s why I’m so very, very naughty.

Bristol

Ghost is fixing to get my size seven shoe shoved up his ass if he keeps it up! Ever since we walked through the clubhouse doors he’s been so close he could smell my fart if I was to let one loose. “Seriously, Brady? Don’t you have some man things to do?”

“Man things, and what would that consist of, Bristol?”

“I don’t know, compare dick sizes, play some poker, lift some weights...anything other than following me around like a lost puppy!” I holler out at him.

“Is it so wrong that I wanna spend a little quality time with my Ol’ lady?” he questions, even though I know it’s anything but.

“Normally, no. But you’re acting strange. What’s up with you anyways?” I respond.

“You’re carryin’ my baby. Gotta make sure if you need anything I’m there to get it for you.” Is he for real? Surely, he doesn't think I’d do anything to put our baby in jeopardy.

“You’re joking right? I mean I have been fetching my own drinks and food for more than half my life you know?” I state in a smartass way.

But what if you need something that’s high up, who’d get it for you then?” That’s it, someone find the train to cuckooville because he’s lost his marbles.

“I’ll call you, Brady, or have a prospect get it for me. I just need some quality time with the girls and we can’t talk women stuff with you buried so far up my ass we’re sharing space.” And I don’t know about him, but I was taught in kindergarten about respecting someone’s personal space.

“Fine! But promise you’ll call me if you need me,” he huffs out, placing his hands on his hips. I mimic him and do the same thing, only I give him a death glare to add to the suspense.

“Not a problem, now go away and hang out with the guys.” I turn to the girls and they’re all giving me a look that lets me know they’ve been where I am and sympathize with my current situation.

“When I was pregnant with Kingston, Tic wouldn’t even let me put my own shoes on. He was worried that by me lifting my legs I’d be squishing his kid,” Kori says and we all end up laughing.

“I can do you one better,” Ashton states, “when I was pregnant with Riley, Wasp wouldn’t even let me take a shower and shave my own body parts for fear that I’d fall and hurt her. I swear, he was so controlling and worried all the time I was afraid he’d have a heart attack.” We all sit and share stories and commiserate with each other and our men’s overprotective ways. Soon, we’ve all joined the conversation and Lizzie, Rainey and I share war stories and get advice from the older women on how to contain the guys and their overactive imaginations. I find it funny as hell that these men who have no qualms about ‘taking care of business’ when it’s needed turn into little old nattering hens or something the minute their woman gets pregnant. I mean, really?

We spend the rest of the night talking and laughing. I’ve steadily been checking on the page to see if anyone has posted or responded to the other posts, but so far there is nothing. My main worry is for Jenalyn, Tessa, Vanna and Stormie since those are the ones I know best. Not that the others aren’t as important, but these are the women who I’ve mostly communicated with and Jenalyn shared with me that they will be smack dab in the middle of it all. If I was a braver person, I’d get in my car and travel all the way to where they reside and check in on them in person. Of course, I’d have to know where they lived first to do so. But whatever, I’m resourceful and I could figure it out if I really wanted to. Before I know it, the storm is upon us and we all hunker down. The doors are bolted shut, the windows are boarded up and we all pull our mattresses down to the main room, and by we, I mean the guys and prospects. Guess there won’t be any play time tonight for any of us. Which works for me, because Brady is in the doghouse as it is and it’s the one thing I can withhold when he’s pissed me off. I notice that the guys have the prospects getting the extra mattresses from the other rooms. Looking, I see that they’re basically putting them around the doors and windows, like extra protection. Then, when we turn in, I happen to glance around and see that every man, without fail, is on the outside of the mattress as if to protect their woman. And the kids? We’ve got them surrounded. Damn, these men may be alphas and assholes a lot of the time, but they protect us with every fiber of their being.

Ashton

As I lay in bed wide awake while everyone is sleeping around me, I can’t help but think of what I can do, or how I can help those impacted by the raging storms that have been tearing through the great state of Texas. I already wanted to put together a women’s retreat and give the women a chance to get to spend some time getting to know one another face-to-face. I was having a hard time convincing Wasp that it was a good idea, but now I’m thinking my man needs to extend an olive-branch and see what our club can do to help other towns and clubs out of this disaster that I’m sure has plagued their small towns and communities.

As a plan begins to take form in my head, I know that I’ll need to wait to put it into play once I know how everyone has come out of this situation. Things may not be as bad as they seem or as I’ve perceived them. Either way, we all need to stick together and help out wherever we can. My heart bleeds at what has been predicted in the news and I really hope that all women, men, children and animals make it out unscathed. Now, I need to figure the best way to implement my plan and make Wasp believe it was all his idea. If he thinks he’s being manipulated he’ll never go for it, guess I’ll need to hit up my co-conspirator and see what she has to say. Kori is just as sneaky as I am if not more so.

“Can’t sleep?” Wasp asks, rolling onto his side and gathering me into his arms.

“I’m alright, my mind is going ninety-to-nothing with concern about the other clubs and their families is all. Go back to sleep, you’ll have a tough few days ahead of you.”

“You will too, Ash. Being an Ol’ lady already puts enough on your plate, but I know you and you’ll be the first one out in the field offering your services to the townsfolk. You won’t be able to help yourself. It’s in your makeup and I accepted that many years ago. Now, why don’t you tell me the real reason you can’t sleep and stop bullshittin’ me.”

“Why is it you always think there’s more to it than there actually is?” I ask, almost offended by his accusation.

“Cause I know you, I know how your mind works,” he states.

“Out of all the abilities you have, I never knew mind reading was one of them,” I say to him.

“You’re such a damn smartass sometimes, Ash,” he responds.

“Better to be a smartass than a dumbass,” I say to his statement.

“You’ve always had an answer for everything. Now, stop changin’ the damn subject and tell me what’s on your mind, will ‘ya?”

And this is where the game begins...This is how I talk my man into thinking it’s his idea to reach out to all the clubs and offer his assistance. “I’ve been thinking. We’re always in need of alliances. You never know when something has the possibility of going wrong. We’ve just discovered recently that the unmentionable is possible. Why don’t you think about reaching out and offering a hand to those clubs that you’re not friendly with as of yet and let them know you’re here to assist them rebuild their towns or whatever is needed.”

“They’re not like us, though. Plus, we have no clue that anyone is going to need help. I’d call and they’d think I’d possibly lost my mind.”

“We don’t know that for sure, Wasp. Us women haven’t discussed that at all, choosing to focus on the commonalities like being moms and being Ol’ ladies and shit. And from all the news reports I’m seeing, they’re bound to need help of some kind. Could end up being a win-win situation for all of us, if you think about it.”

“I’ll consider it, now can we get some damn sleep?” When he says he’ll consider things, his mind is already convincing itself that it needs to be done.

“It’d be a good way to trust them since friendships are blossoming. You said it yourself, we don’t know them, here’s a good opportunity to change that.”

“Woman! Close your eyes and mind, I need some sleep. Night, Ash.” He rolls over and puts his back facing me letting me know he’s serious.

I sigh, roll over and wrap my arms around him, “Night Wasp.” I wake up in the middle of the night with him spooning me. Grinding my ass back, I smile when I feel him reacting.

“Woman, keep that up…” he growls out, reaching around and grabbing my breast.

“What’s wrong, baby?” I ask, my hand snaking back and grabbing his dick. Within seconds, I find myself flat on my back with him looming over me. Granted, with us being surrounded by everyone, we’re gonna have to be quiet, but whatever. Challenge accepted!
