The Assassin's Wife (Angels & Assassins Book 1) by Nikita Slater (32)

Chapter Thirty-Two

Tasha became slowly aware that someone was in the darkened room with her. She blinked several times and smothered a yawn. She knew she was safe. For one thing, she was in one of the most fortified compounds in the entire United States, probably more so than the White House. And for another, she could smell his wonderful, enticing masculine scent as he stood next to the bed.

“David,” she whispered breathily.

He placed a knee on the bed and swiftly bent over her, burying one hand in her hair while he pressed his face against her throat with a groan. He wrapped an arm tightly around her waist and just held her for a few moments before speaking. It had been several days since they’d seen each other so she understood the intense need to just bask in his presence.

“Imagine my shock, Natasha,” David murmured against her throat as he slid his hand inside the top of her sleep shirt and gently squeezed her breast, brushing her nipple softly with his thumb. Back and forth, slowly, until the nipple peaked. “When it was confirmed that my wife not only knows, but is on friendly terms with the most influential mobster to move his operation onto this continent. To have such a man standing in my own fucking yard, bold as day, taking my wife as leverage was not something I had particularly hoped for, my love.”

She smiled into the darkness and ran her fingers through his hair. It seemed that her libido picked up the moment he got his hands back on her. She arched her back and pushed her breast more fully into his hand, filling his callused palm. Despite Niccolo’s thoughts on her husband’s future, she was pretty sure David should just chop wood forever. It gave him the best feeling hands

“Maybe you didn’t hope for it, but you certainly saw it coming. Or did I imagine those words of love you tossed my way before you left?”

He pushed her sleeping shirt up her chest and kissed the tips of her breasts, worshipping the small, swollen globes with his teeth and tongue until she was moaning and writhing underneath him. “You imagined nothing. I knew he was coming for you and I knew he would protect you, though it was like ripping out my own heart to leave you with another man.”

Tears pricked her eyes. David was so possessive of her, it must have gutted him to see her get in the car with those men. Except for the one he’d shot. Small consolation perhaps. “You did it for our future,” she whispered in his ear, curving her body against him and licking his neck.

He pressed his hand over her belly, spreading his fingers over the small, growing mound. “Da,” he agreed softly, then dropped a kiss against the warm flesh.

A tear escaped from her eye. She was the only person in the world that he was tender with. Her and their child. He must have seen the shimmer of silver in the moonlight because he moved up her body and pressed his lips against her soft cheek, capturing the tear, stopping it from falling. Gently, he pushed the cotton sleep pants she’d borrowed from Maria down her hips. She pulled the top over her head while he stood next to the bed to take his clothes off.

She welcomed him with open arms, pulling him against her. He placed a hand at the back of her head and urged her mouth up to his for a passionate kiss, while he pushed her legs apart. She moaned into his mouth, her hips arching up to meet his. He surged forward, pushing into her wet heat with a powerful thrust. She cried out and arched back into the bed, digging her nails into him. He pulled her knees up and deepened the penetration until she was panting and throwing her head back.

“You like that, my love?” he asked, licking and biting her neck, holding her tightly to him as he thrust slowly into her.

“Y-yes… ah… too much!” she gasped.

“Look at me, Natasha,” he demanded.

She tilted her head up, her sapphire eyes sparkling in the darkness. She moaned as he slammed into her, guiding her body higher and higher along the path toward ecstasy. She clung to him, her arms wrapped tightly around his shoulders, her eyes on his as he carried her to the promised height. He took her hands and carried them over her head, pinning them against the pillow. Her rings flashed in the moonlight, catching his eyes.

He stilled within her, staring down at hand. “Your rings,” he said, his voice a rough growl.

“Niccolo had them,” she whispered breathlessly, flexing her fingers against his.

His eyes slid to hers. Emotion surged in the dark depths. “Fuck, I should tear him apart for what he did to us, but all I can feel is happy to have you in my arms.”

She smiled up at him, tears sparkling in her eyes. She knew exactly how he felt. She leaned up as much as she could and pressed her lips against his, breathing against him, sharing herself. He captured her mouth in a quick, fierce kiss before releasing her hands.

He thrust into her aggressively, taking her with a sudden, driving need she was helpless to deny. A driving need she also felt. He feared losing her. A part of him would always fear losing her and so he would always fuck her with this edge of darkness. This need to show them both that they were alive and together. She understood and she would take it. She would take David and his love any way she could get him.

Her pussy clenched around him, gripping him with such strangling tightness that he was helpless against her. As Tasha shouted her pleasure, swallowed by his swooping kiss, he dove over the edge of rapture with her, clinging tightly to his dancer as she showed him the way into heaven.
